I had my first haircut today with Loland at Harbour City Barbers, and I won’t going back to my old barber. Great experience all around. He did exactly what I wanted, and took his time going over all the little details. I can’t stand when they start to rush the process so that they can get the next client in. Loland was detailed and took his time doing the right thing! Yes, it’s a little more expensive than your average haircut, but I’m walking out without any uneven spots in my head! I’ll pay for that quality any day. I will recommend Loland and this barber shop to all my coworkers at the firehall. Cheers, Ian

Incredibly friendly and skilled barbers. I've been a cheapo-franchise-haircut guy for my entire life, but decided to give Harbour City Barbers a shot after my son's hair was butchered. I'm not too fussed about style, but I also don't want my kids perpetually looking like they've never seen a comb before. The experience at HCB is unlike anything I've experienced. They take their time to actually make sure that the hair is cut evenly, and even paused mid-cut for a wash/scalp massage to make sure the hair was all going in the same direction. (Oh the scalp massage? Epic.) Love the friendly vibes, the conversation and the great looking haircut. I felt pretty bougie walking away with a hair STYLE for the first time, instead of just getting a cut. Since then, my two sons and I have been back again, and will continue to do so moving forward. The 'sticker shock' was real, but there's no comparison in the results. You truly do get what you pay for!

The staff here is awesome! I always look forward to getting my haircut here. I've been coming for a couple years now and never had poor service, even through Covid times. I highly recommend this shop. They will be moving soon I understand to Nored Plaza by Costco.

I had never been here before but the reviews brought me. I picked Loland because I saw his name mentioned a few times. I went in expecting just a haircut but I couldn’t believe the service I was given. Loland is an incredible barber and he washed and massaged my scalp and styled my hair after. I look amazing! The owner was there too and was awesome! I recommend this place if you are in Nanaimo it is well worth it. I will be back for sure and will be recommending to my friends. Thank you!!!
