Staysea Brown is one of the most talented hairdressers and entrepreneurs on Vancouver Island and beyond. She is progressive and always learning the newest trends so her clients receive the newest and hottest hair styles. Her staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. The thing I love about hairpins (aside from the fact that they are incredibly skilled at what they do and I always leave with amazing hair) is their diversity. There are other high end local salons that are doing quality work, but they just aren't as inclusive and have little to no intersectional representation on their teams and staff. It makes hairpins a really comfortable, welcoming, and safe environment.

I cannot recommend these ladies enough. Meghan and her team were absolutely amazing. The ladies came out to our yurt for my wedding day. We had such an amazing time with them and they made me feel like the most fabulous bride! Book these ladies before they are all booked up! I attached a pic of my hair. AMAZING!

The hairdresser I had was a novice, she had no idea what she was doing and when it was pointed out that she didn't do my hair as asked, a couple other employee's got involved and "911'ed" it because I was late for the picture I was supposed to be getting. They knew there was a time crunch but pretended they weren't made aware. We got there two hours before the picture was due to be taken. We just went along with the "911 job" but it wasn't what I wanted or what I described, I was late to my picture, had to deal with passive aggression, and then looked very stupid in my (very public) photo. Won't be returning. I left trying not to cry.

Salon has updated their look a couple of times and always has a clean, crisp look. I have always been happy with my colors and cuts! Great salon and great stylists. Disappointing, they said they can style curly hair, apparently not. My daughter wanted to keep her own curls, just less frizz, that was what we asked for, they straightened it. They should have listened, apologized for having a teen visibly upset, and may be, even give us a discount. No we will not go back. We ran out of time for them to fix it, and after an hour, too long to wait anymore.
