Booked online quickly for Danny - email and/or text reminders of booking. Greeted warmly to confirm appointment at door. They have new Irish barbers in now. Danny was great - dealt with my hair and requests easily and within 20 minute appointment window. This is my go-to place from now on!

This place is great. I've had my hair cut by a bunch of people here, always good service, always a good cut. The online booking system makes it very easy, and you can text for same day openings. Makes my life easy, and that's exactly what I need.

Great local barber shop with a cool and friendly vibe. I’ve been having my hair cut by Danny for several years and he does a great job. He listens to what you want and he consistently gives an awesome cut. He also has a lot of training and experience. A couple of other notes about Hastings... You can make reservations through their website and it is cash only (although they have an ATM on premise).

Been here twice! And it's great; staff is really friendly, their COVID protocols make me feel safe (although it means they can't trim my beard), and I love the aesthetics of the shop. They use the balm/pomade that smells fantastic, that makes me want to throw my current stuff out.

Kevin is an all-star. Went into the shop to get my haircut and he did a better job than the last 5 barbers that I have been to combined. I originally had the same barber for 30 years, but he recently retired because he turned 80. Because of this I didn't really know what my hair cut was called or the proper numbers for the clippers. I went to about 5 barbers after my original and none of them gave me the haircut I wanted until I got to Kevin. He has 30 years of experience and it shows in mastery of the fades that he produces and the style he posseses. I can safely say that I have found my new barber.

People here are really nice, but the cut is not on point. I left the shop covered in hair. I didn't even bother putting my suit jacket back on as I didn't want it full of hair as well. I asked for a simple 1 1/2 - 2 fade which wasn't completed and the hair on the side of my head was not shaven evenly. I'm sorry but I don't understand all the hype. Decor and vibe is cool, but the service did not live up to expectations.

Visited on the recommendation of a friend. Was greeted by smiling staff and made comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favourite barbers from another shop years ago in there cutting hair. Prices are not expensive. It will definitely become part of my regular routine to get my hair cuts here.

READ UPDATE. Pretty good place. One of the better, simple cuts I have gotten in a while. My first time here, let's see a couple more times. UPDATE: just found a cut on my left ear, which I thought at that time, felt like just the clippers moving on top of my skin. But found brown dried up blood(see pics) on the exact spot I felt the cut. I wouldn't expect it as like a cut or something, because I'd expect the barber to sanitize it right away with peroxide or something, given the times we are in. Pretty sure he is a good barber, but is that one of his incompetence?

Always a great cut. They specialize in fades and do a great job with them. But they can handle any men's (or boy's) haircut. I love that you can book online or via text. They recently started accepting electronic forms of payment but charge a small fee to cover the extra they are charged. You can still pay in cash though.

Haircut was good. Excellent service (love being able to book online). I tend to prefer to sit silently, and the barber responded to my preference. In the chair next to me there was a talker and the barber was equally responsive to him. Great place.

When you walk in they ask if you want a beer... Like ???? 30$ cash for your cut and a beer.. The spot is clean, stylish, everyone's vibe there is good!

Good haircut for a good price in a shop with a friendly vibe. Can't give it a 5 out if 5 because the cut wasn't up to the quality of my usual, but it was a good choice and excellent value for an emergency trim. Great selection of products, by the way, reasonably priced.

Got my hair cut here this Sunday and everything was great! In particular I wanted to note how great my barber Miguel was. He was very responsive and attentive to my requests, and super friendly throughout the haircut and beard trim. I was really happy with the haircut and the quality of service, will definitely be coming back here.

It has been 2 years since I've visited Hastings Barber Shop Danforth as I've been growing my hair long. Thought it was time to get a new style. Kevin did a great job and he cut my hair which used to be all shoulder length and gave me a great cut! I was anxious at first as it has been a while since I got a fade/taper cut but his cut gave me a lot of options in styling my hair. Will be back again for sure!

This place is awesome. They have a team of super cool barbers that are always keen on giving you the best cut, and an awesome conversation. They definitely take pride in what they do. If you've been going to a generic salon and feel rushed in and out, you need to check out hastings. I've only been to the Danforth location, but they always take care of me well, so I suspect you'll get the same treatment at all their shops.
