My first interaction with farzad was a phone call to see if I could 'walk-in' and get a beard trim and cut. A courtious 'haha, we are appointment only can I book you in' was his response. It was farzad himself and after telling me credit card is charged if you dont show up was shop policy, I saw him two weeks later and never got a cut anywhere else. That was over 3 years ago. Over the years I find out he's known my father and used to say 'hi' to him every day on his way home from work. The feeling of family comes to me when I think of the environment shelly, noriko and farzad have created and every two weeks I get 30 minutes of the best therapy sessions filled with laughter, happiness, confusion and some of most unique of conversations ever had in one shop. Farzad came highly recommended by an industry friend of mine and I recommend him the same to this day. Pro tip: go enjoy 30 minutes in this mans chair. You'll be glad ya did.

I have been going to Farzads for a few years now as have several of my friends. I have always found the service and cut top notch. My appointments always start on time and everything is very efficient. Noriko cuts my hair and she is great, very pleasant, and has great attention to detail. The whole place has a family atmosphere and I always feel welcome and comfortable. For a treat, I have gone a few times for a shave and they are fantastic as well. Can be hard to get an appointment last minute, particularly during the holiday season, but that is just a testament to their popularity. Highly recommended!

My wife gave me a gift card for a straight razor shave here 5 years ago and I’ve been going here ever since for my hair cut. Farzad cuts are professional with an easy going conversation. The best part is the warm shaving cream applied to shave the back of your neck when your cut is done. Make sure you book ahead,something this good needs an appointment.

Way too over priced and they dont have a menu which shows how much their prices are. I got charged for $40 for a simple buzzcut. Just watch out is all i can say i didnt wanna complain but its still bugging me after almost 2 days ago. I didnt ask for a shampoo wash either they just gave it to me so maybe thats where they got me. Anywho just watch out i was also gonna tip but when they charged me $40 for a buzzcut i wasnt even thinking about giving them a tip after for that high of a charge screw that

I moved to Vancouver in 2009 and would go from haircutter to haircutter in search of a decent cut. Most places just didn't listen to what I wanted and/or just gave lousy haircuts. I discovered Farzad's about four years ago and have been going there since. Both Farzad and Noriko really know how to cut hair. Some people want walk-ins but I like making an appointment and knowing that I will get a cut at a certain time and I will be out at a certain time. I don't want to spend a half-hour waiting in line. In all these years they have never, ever been late. Not once. Just don't expect to call in the morning for a haircut that afternoon.

I lived in Vancouver for 10 years before finding Farzad. I struggled with other barber shops and salons who cannot even give a half-decent fade. Called his shop to make my 1st appointment and yes he asked for my credit card info as I was a new customer in the event I cancelled at the last minute. No big deal, the guy has to pay his bills like every other business. I've been with him for 4+ years and Noriko has also cut my hair when he was on vacation. Looking for a real barber, straight razor, perfect fade EVERY time? Check him out (and Noriko). Warmest, honest group of folks, can't go wrong. I am always completely satisfied with the haircut that I receive from Farzad. I moved to Vancouver two years ago and have only had my hair cut here. I plan on keeping it that way. The shop is comfortable, the conversation is interesting, and the service is consistent and reliable. I find that I am usually able to make an appointment 2-7 days from when I call in, as he is usually booked up. I've only heard good reviews about Noriko as well! Farzad's Barber Shop is definitely worth a visit if you are new to Vancouver or looking for a change in barbers.

I asked for a beard trim as well and the price was $80. I understand they could fit in another haircut in that time but I wish they had different pricing options for beard trims and didn't charge by time. In and out was less than 40 mins.

I have been coming to Farzad’s for 7 years and I have to say this couldn’t be a more welcoming barbershop! Farzad, Shelley and Noriko run a professional shop, and deliver high quality cuts time and again! There are some reviewers complaining that Farzad will charge them for no-shows and for cancellations with little to no notice- yes he does! He also is unhappy when clients are consistently late- this is because he respects and cares for clients who show up on time and keep their appointment times. This means if my appointment is at 10am then I am in the chair no later than 10 am! If they honoured their late-comers and no-showers, this would have a knock-on effect to their punctual clients. Farzad, Noriko and Shelley respect their loyal customers - they make a point of thanking their customers all the time on social media - the only thing they ask for in return is mutual respect. Best barbershop in Vancouver - couldn’t recommend it more highly.

It is very hard nowadays, especially in Vancouver, to find businesses and entrepreneurs who aren't the presidents of their own fan club, but come to Farzad's and you will be greeted by a humble professional who enjoys a lively conversation while providing you with exceptional service. Word of warning: try and book in advance. The sign of a good barber is how full their schedule is, and Farzad is certainly no exception. You won't be disappointed!

For those who question Farzads pricing, I challenge you to go in for a haircut or a shave, heck go for both and you will pleasantly surprised by the incredible service you get. It is worth every cent. When I was a student I couldn’t come to Farzads all the time because on a student budget priorities are different. Even so, I would save up and every few months in between my cheap (low quality, just get the job done) haircuts I would go to Farzads and get the royal treatment. Thank you Farzads Barbershop!

Great haircut, amazing service, nice location. Farzad is a gentleman, as a very busy business person I really appreciated his attention to detail, the amazing service, and frankly a great haircut in record time. He really went out of his way to fit me in to his very busy schedule on exceptionally short notice - I will recommend however that you book ahead as he has a waiting list and is usually booked a few days in advance... though I can now say first hand that it's well worth the wait!

Farzad's is a great place to get a professional barber service. Friendly, skilled and gets the job done well. I didn't get a shave, but for the few extra dollars I spent over the garden variety places, the cut, straight razor finishing and shampoo were all worth it.

Farzad his wife Shelley and Noriko are honestly some of the nicest people around. I’ve also never left disappointed with a cut and shave, definitely a 10/10. What I am disappointed about is seeing false reviews like the one below. I was able to view this situation at the time and Farzad kindly apologized to the young fellow. At the end of the day this is a business. As a business owner I understand the importance of being punctual and expect the same from my customers. If you can’t manage your time properly then perhaps this isn’t the barber for you. Thank-you.

I do not recommend Farzad Barber. I had to come in person and deposit 40 bucks before getting booked for a haircut... It took one month to get a place because he was away or something like that and after month all I got was a simple cut which you can get anywhere else..... so what is all the fuss about booking and upfront payment.... to get a haircut which I can get anywhere else... btw he cut a bit too short an inch is not 3 inches.

this place failed me..... :( I asked my boyfriend to get a hair cut and a beard trim at this place cuz I heard good things about it.. My boyfriend was very upset about the quality of his cut and I felt kinda bad knowing that I recommended this place to him... he said the owner did not listen to him. he cut too much of his beard. I do agree with him the beard is too short. he spent 6 months growing to that length now I guess he has to not touch it for another 3 months.
