I had my hair done at the Abbotsford location and Jessalynn was absolutely AMAZING! This is my first time ever bleaching my hair and Jessalynn was sweet and professional. She was honest and explained how it would damage my hair too much if we went with the color I showed her instead of completely frying my hair. Since I have A LOT of hair, it was very time consuming for her, but she was so patient with me and did not rush any steps. She was able to give me a sweet caramel balayage at the end without doing much damage to my hair and I am very thankful for that. I would definitely go back to her, and would recommend Jessalynn to anyone who’s looking for an honest and professional hairstylist that would not only makes you look pretty but also protect your hair! <3

The girls who work at the Refinery House are extremely talented, and I absolutely love coming here for the atmosphere. However, every time I have booked an appointment there has been some miscommunication both between staff members and between staff and customers. The first time I booked at the Refinery House I called in to change the services I was looking for, and was told it would be absolutely no problem, just come in half an hour earlier. I got there half an hour earlier and nobody knew why I was there and they were not prepared to take on a customer until my original appointment time. Fortunately, the service was able to be completed within the original time frame. More recently, however, I needed to change the date of my appointment. I called almost a month in advance to make the changes, and it was confirmed for me over the phone that the services would take place at the Abbotsford location. This is out of the way for me, as I’m visiting family for the holidays and was not able to drive here, leaving me to rely on others to get around until I travel back home. I accepted the Abbotsford appointment because I had plans for the holidays and wanted my hair touched up before then. Unfortunately for me, my appointment was made at the Chilliwack location. This was not made known to me in any form. Not only did I travel out of my way for this appointment, I missed it and now have to rebook for after Christmas, when I needed it to be done before then. All of this being said, the Refinery House has been great about delivering high quality hair services, among all of the other great services they offer! Unfortunately, the lack of communication between the staff members and customers has left me extremely unimpressed with their business, and uncertain about making appointments in the future.

My sister in-law referred me to The Refinery House. She got her hair done for her wedding and looked absolutely stunning. I was looking for someone to do an updo for my wedding. Ali did my hair that day and did a beautiful job. My bridesmaids got their hair done as well and absolutely loved it. It was flawless. I have also gotten highlights by Lauren twice now and I absolutely love the natural look she was able to do on me. Going back soon!!!! Such a chill atmosphere :)

I cannot say enough great things about Lauren's cutting and styling skills. When I sat in her chair she asked me to explain to her exactly what I wanted done, she listened and then did it better than what I had expected! My pixie cut is not that easy to do (you would think short hair is easy to cut but it's not) and Lauren nailed it at my first appointment. She is lovely and the salon is lovely. I almost don't want to share, in case she gets super busy and booked up (!), but I have to say this was the best hair experience I've had in many years. Edited Feb 16th: I feel the need to update my review and rating based on communication. Several weeks ago I had a very frustrating set of emails trying to book an appointment with an exchange in which the rep didn't seem to be reading my emails. After having to clarify a weird amount, I got a confirmation that the next available appointment was on the 16th and I was booked. Great, worked as I had an important meeting in Vancouver later. Arrived at the salon to discover the appointment was booked in the wrong month - this was an extremely frustrating experience after having to send so many clarifying emails in the first place. I will not remove my review of my haircut experience but I'm disappointed that I cannot say whether the quality is still the same. If you decide to go with this salon I recommend babysitting your appointment - additional follow ups and speak with at least two people to confirm that it exists in their system. Original review: Highly, highly recommend Refinery House for haircuts - Refinery House is big city quality and talent but in the comfort of home in Chilliwack. I hadn't gotten my hair cut in almost two years because I was nervous after a couple bad experiences, but it was just too darn long. A friend recommended Refinery House, so I booked my appointment with whoever was available. First, the atmosphere at Refinery House is wonderful. It feels quiet, soothing, modern, and upscale. The staff were very friendly and engaging, making a fresh cup of coffee for my while I lounged on a chic couch. The stylist who did my hair, Lauren, also carried that same calm, engaged feeling. She listened carefully to my concerns and asked all the right questions. The haircut itself could not have been more perfect: I had brought a reference photo with me, and despite me having much thinner hair, Lauren somehow nailed the dry length and style perfectly. It matched exactly what I saw in the reference photo, and the way she cut the ends really enhances the slight wave to my hair. My hair now has shape, volume, and feels way healthier than it has any right to.

I LOVE the warm, homey atmosphere of this place and the kind hearts of the people that work here. Especially those working the front desk and answering the phones!!! Two girls in particular come to mind. The beautiful Allison who has been there from day one and runs to get me a starbucks as I get my hair done (can't imagine why) and more recently the addition of another receptionist, beautiful Megs, who is the sweetest soul. I chose Jamie based on reviews I read here...as it turns out, my previous hairdresser in Langley had also recommended her to me months ago but I hadn’t made the connection till we were chatting throughout the cut. To put it mildly, my hair was in a horrific state when I showed up and I was amazed & relieved when Jamie knew just how to fix it. So Happy to have had refinery house recommended to me by a friend. I have been to several stylists and they have all been good! Even took my son for his first cut, and they were amazing. Definitely would recommend to anyone fro all services, I get cut and colour, never been disappointed. :)

Every experience that I have had at the Refinery House has been nothing less than perfect. Each time I sit in the chair I am able to put my full trust in my stylist Meghan and have continuously been thrilled with the results. This is a hip and happening place. Had a first class experience, better than some very pricey salons that I've been to in the city. The philosophy expressed on the website becomes a reality when you go in. Great reception staff, Jodi did a separate 15 minute consult in advance of my appointment. Stathoula helped me to really articulate what I wanted with the help of pictures and questions. I can honestly say I haven't had an experience like that. Great head massage from one of the students who is learning (sorry I can't remember your name..Kaley?) I also watched one of the other staff at work (later found out her name was Jamie) all the clients are treated in the same great manner. Jamie later helped me with best products to use on my hair and had impressive knowledge of Davines because she's an educator. I really felt like the people working here are amazing and care so much about ensuring that Refinery House lives up to its name. I was very, very impressed. And Stathoula thanks for such a great transformative cut and colour/foils!

I had the most amazing experience with the Refinery House, with Jamie to exact. I came to her after leaving another salon in tears with damaged chopped hair. I found her threw her Instagram page @hairbyjaimemarie I messaged her and she was stayed late just to squeeze me in. I have never loved my hair so much, the amount of compliments I get is ridiculous. My sister and my mom loved my hair so much they are no regulars of hers! I will never let someone else touch my hair again!

Kennedy was amazing with my 2 year old son! She was patient, friendy, interacted with him, and gave him the best haircut. She did a fade with a disconnected hard part and he looks so adorable! All day today he has been rubbing his head, smiling, saying, "Look Mommy! My hair cut!" I cannot recommend her and the teachers at Refinery enough. I have a difficult ash blonde that I love and they made it perfect. I have never been happier with the way it turned out!
