Do not get your hair cut from Melanie ! She is the most obnoxious hair dresser I've ever come across not to mention she does not know how to cut hair. When I asked another dresser to fix the terrible haircut she gave my little brother, she got so mad and became very rude about it and stormed out while half way through cutting my sisters hair. I went here on August 25 8 pm and left with a very sore scalp. The lady was extremely rough and to excressive. To the point where the clipper didn't have enough time to cut and the last bit I could feel my hair rip. Also one of the first passes with the clipper started with a jab to my ear. She also excerted so much downward force on the clipper my scalp was tender for the next few hours. Definitely not returning and would encourage others to do the same

I called to make an appointment but then said they only take walk-ins so I hustled over there. No waiting at all. I had quick, courteous service. I pretty much gave the girl free reign on how to cut and style my past shoulder-length hair. She gave me a nice side-bang layered look at my shoulders. I thought she'd go chop happy, but she framed my face nicely. She wasn't overly chatty, which was just fine by me. I also got $2.00 off for some reason (maybe because it is Tuesday? I don't know.)!

I did not enjoy my first time experience here. I have long and processed hair and it's quite damaged so it needs a little extra TLC so I decided to go in for a trim. My "hair dresser" was a girl in training (didn't look over 16) and truthfully I don't think she even went to beauty school. She literally did not know how to cut hair. I had to tell her to wash my hair prior to cutting it, after washing it she proceeded to comb (using a fine toothed comb) my hair from the root which damaged my hair even further. I also asked to have my ends feathered and thinned out, instead I got a choppy blunt cut with uneven ends. Since my haircut there my hair ended up being more damaged... it's been a couple of weeks since I got it cut there and it hasn't been the same nor has it recovered. I'm quite dissapointed and just sad that now I will have to spend more money (elsewhere) and get it cut even shorter. A word or advice, if anyone with long hair comes in for the FIRST time in your salon, please don't assign her to someone who hasn't gone to beauty school nor knows how to cut hair properly.

Worst Customer Service, Worst Haircut. First time I get my haircut I got stripes and second time they don’t do that. I mean they changed their rules in one month. The lady was very rude. I even tip them first time I visited. But, never gonna come back after the way I was treated the second time on 29th December. They should learn how to treat a customer.

Won’t go here again. I went to get my hair colored and cut. The hairdresser told me she would not be able to do blonde because they can’t have all the girls doing color at the same time. Since I really wanted my hair done, I agreed to get a full light brown color. She talked me out of getting light brown as it wouldn’t color my roots but I was fine with that. She continued talk me out of it, so I went with a darker shade like she wanted. When she was washing the dye out of my hair, she said “just so you know your hair will lighten up after a few washes.” As soon as we got to the mirror I was horrified at how dark it was. I tried to stay positive and showed her a picture that I had on my phone of the hair cut I wanted (a long bob) she barely looked at it and started away. The length wasn’t the same at all. I had to ask her why it wasn’t short in the back and she said oh I didn’t know you wanted it shorter. Of course not because you didnt take the picture into consideration. Long story short it turned out nothing like I wanted. I had to tell her to thin out my bangs because they were way thicker then the rest and she did thin out the rest and not the bangs. She was literally going to send me out like that. Not to mention, not one of the other hair dressers were doing color and there were barely any customers. There was a hair dresser sitting beside us watching us because she had nothing to do. I don’t know the name of the girl who did my hair but it was obvious she didn’t like her job.

So i went to this place and i told the lady (lacy) that i wanted a cut just below my shoulders and she decided to give me a cut up to my ears. There was nobody else in the building so nobody could see and she said she was going to wash my hair and she got a spray bottle and sprayed my hair. She also was laughing while she was doing my hair. Just wish the hours were a little bit better. For ppl who do not get off work until 7-8 and need there hair cut, they're unable to get it done. Both magic cuts and first choice hair cutters are both closed in the north end. But other then them closing to early in my opinion I don't see any other issues. They do a great job cutting hair and staff are soo nice

Chantelle is the only person my 4 year old wants to cut his hair. She is very good and is patient with my 4 year old as he tends to cry and swing his head around. I would highly recommend Chantelle if your child is afraid of haircuts and has had bad experiences beforehand. And I've loved my haircuts with her as I'm always happy with the final result and trust her knowledge when it comes to hair care.

Walked in, place was completely empty at 4pm in the afternoon. Two women were working in the back, asked to have our two young sons hair cut, was told no had to book an appt, they were "too busy". Women stated they had appts coming in 10 minutes. Doesn't take very long for a boys haircut. Went to FirstChoice instead and had a great experience.

I took my son there to get his hair cut and he ended up coming out looking worse than before he went in....and that was AFTER they tried to fix the damage they had done first time. Guess what? Haircut was very bad, super uneven and it was done fully with clippers, a hairdresser should be able to cut hair with clipper I mean come on, I could have done it better myself with my beard trimmer. Had to get my girlfriend to take scissors to trim the long hairs after I looked at home. Do not come here it felt very rushed and quality of haircuts show it. Waste of money and more expensive than first choice. Definitely will not be back.

Absolutely awful. I went in and gave them a photo of how I’d have liked it cut, the woman cutting my hair must of thought it was of a cue ball with peach fuzz because I ended up with what seems to be four inches shorter than what the photo showed, I myself am very used to having long hair and was ultimately upset and very self conscious after that train wreck of what should have been an easy run of the mill trim. I won’t likely be ever returning to that chopping block.

I went in, bought a hot dog and words couldn’t even describe what type of dog I got. The wiener was uncooked and was falling apart, the last time that happened to me was when my grandma let the dog eat my hot dog. The sauces dried up like my skin on the beach when I didn’t put on sunscreen. The taste is indescribable. I am still seeking to this day to find out what that tasted like. Don’t recommend giving to a place that apparently “cuts” hair yet sells hot dogs. Mid advertisement and garbage.

Worst place I've ever gotten a haircut. My boyfriend and I went there on a Sunday and both the ladies working did a terrible job. My boyfriend's hair is uneven in the front and my bangs are all over the place. The older blonde lady kept stabbing me in the forehead with her nails. When you arrive, just check in and you will see your name in the screen and who is next up for a haircut. Very cool feature. I use it when I go for a cut. Never had a positive experience at Henderson location. Gave them another chance today. There were stylists working both with customers in chair when I arrived. Fair enough I sat down to wait and one of them looked at me and said it wouldn’t be long. They continued to work slowly on their clients while stopping frequently to chat. 20 minutes later another customer arrived and sat down. An off duty employee arrived to set up her station and was chatting with the stylists and the other customer waiting. A man walked in with two children and the off duty employee came to the front immediately and asked what they wanted and started to take their names. She paused and asked the other lady and myself who was first in line and when I said it was me she asked for my name and what I wanted. I said I was leaving and did just that then went to my car and called the store to complain that after over 20 minutes of waiting it took more customers arriving for someone to think to put us on a waiting list and acknowledge that we were there. So much for walk ins being welcome. I ALWAYS feel like I am interrupting their chatting time at that location. Never left with a quality cut and their employees look and act less than professional. I will not return here ever again. The Leila location is so much better.

I've been here multiple times but I've never had such a bad experience until today. The woman that cut my hair was very unfriendly and barely talked. Maybe she was having a bad day? I do not know. Barely cut my hair, asked if I wanted a rinse, walk over to the washing station, I get some water sprayed on my head and she proceeds to start wiping my head even though I had a bunch of hair everywhere. This all happens while my room mate gets a great hair cut with talkative staff. Her name was Lacey but I've been to this location and have been coming here every two months to get my hair cut. It wasn't a great experience. I hope the next time o come here I'll get a different stylist. Thank you.

Don't get your hair cut here. They can't follow simple instructions after being told 3 times not to cut certain areas and follow the lines of the previous style. My boyfriend and I went there last night for him to get his hair cut for semi he asked for a 3 or 4 on sides and trim a trim! On top char the lady did not listen and shaved his whole head and left a tiny bit of hair on the top which isn’t a trim him myself and his mother were very upset but out of kindness we didn’t say anything because it wouldn’t have changed his hair, and then she asked for25 dollars after creating a mess she obviously wasn’t trained with the mess she made. Never again will I go or he will go to the magic cuts in Sdyney????. And he did speak up he said I want just a little off the top not a full trim but she cut it like full on and didn’t even do the back right she didn’t nicely blend it at all I don’t not recommend her services if you do go to that magic cuts. No offence to her but if she just listened and did what he asked than we wouldn’t be so shaken up and if she wasn’t comfortable doing it she could’ve asked the other lady...

I don't know what cereal box Roxie got her hair cutting license from but she gave me some weird mushroom cut with long hair underneath. Absolutely ruined my hair beyond repair. Looks like a have an exaggerated mullet when all I asked was to get my layers touched up. I can't even tie my hair up because the top is so short. It's choppy and uneven I look awful. I have to wear a tuque until it grows long enough to fix. I am devastated. Prices are cheap for a reason. Never go here.

I have mixed opinions about Magicuts. Fernando has made my hair look amazing a couple of times, did EXACTLY what I asked for. I went in expecting the usual (tell a hair dresser what you want and getting something different) but I was pleasantly surprised when it looked so fabulous! I also find his personality wonderful. Sadly today I didn't have the same experience. I went to get a hair cut before work and wanted a very specific hair cut but got the exact opposite. Not only that but some sections are uneven and not layering uneven, ACTUALLY uneven. I don't know why it upsets me so much but I really could not believe what she did to my hair. In my opinion it looks like teenage boy hair. I really regret not getting it blow dried when I was there because I would have told her immediately I wasn't happy. It looks so bad it's like I cut it myself.

Very inconsistent service, as some users mentioned previously. After a couple of decent (good for the price) haircuts, I went in and got a very disappointing one. Even though I had an appointment, the stylist rushed and simply didn't follow what I was asking for. She went for it right away and was done in 10-15 minutes, with minimum effort and tools. But I should not be complaining - it is a $20 haircut. That's exactly what you will get - A haircut (may not be the one you asked for). Price makes me give it 3 stars, as opposed to 1. You get what you pay for here.

My son had never been to Magicuts before but we were in the area so we thought we'd try it. The wait time was ok and the cut itself was ok, but I just found it a bit pricy for a basic 10-15 minute cut for a 13 year old. Also, he was charged for a shampoo and cut while he didn't receive a shampoo. Also, I thought I had seen a post inside the store saying there was a student discount and I thought they would have given him that rate since he is a young guy and very likely a student. I only noticed when I got home and looked at the receipt what we were charged so I didn't have the chance to say anything. Won't be going back and will keep going to Kings Krown in Riverview where they do a great job and are always honest about their services.

Took my son here to get his hair cut this weekend. The lady ignored what we wanted done she shaved the sides of his head, his scalp was extremely red from her cutting to close. And she just left the top part of his hair didn't even touch it. Was not impressed and will never go back here. Two weeks ago I went to magic cuts to get my 2 year old daughter haircut. I waited this long to post this review because I decided to cool off before writing it since I was VERY UPSET when I left the store that day. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE SUCH A BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE. Our hair dresses that day was FERNANDO. The first time I put my daughter on the chair she was a bit fuzzy was not crying just been a little bit fuzzy which is expected for a little kid getting their haircut. Instantly Fernando reacted very rude and told me that he was not going to cut her hair he did not even gave her 2 minutes to calm down he just reacted right away. If you are going to cut kids hair you have to be a little more patience, at least give them couple minutes. I told him to give me a second just to put some cartoon on my cellphone so she can watch it while he cuts her hair that usually works with her. He said okay, after I insisted, but you can tell by his face and the way he talked to us that he was very annoyed by this. He was treating us like he was doing us a favor or something not like he was providing a service to us that we are paying for. I put on the cartoons and my daughter calmed down. He proceed to put on the cape they usually put around you when they cut your hair and she fuzzed a little but again did not cry yet just a bit fussy and he took it off right away and told me very rude to leave that he was not going to cut her hair, that she did not want him to cut it. I told him that it was normal that kids cry and they are fuzzy sometimes that he just had to be a little more patience and give her couple minute to chill. He told me that was not true, that not all kids cry and that he was not gonna wait around for hours for her to be ready to get a haircut! He was so rude I was in shock. I asked for the manager and he said he was not there and I also ask for another hairdresser to do her hair and he said he was the only one there. If he did not feel comfortable cutting kids hair then don’t take an appointment with a little kid, when I made the appointment I told them how old she was. Also, if he was just afraid that she was going to move too much and ruined the haircut and he was not confident or comfortable cutting her hair he could have told me nicely; be nice about it, he did not had to be so rude. Before I left I told him I was shock by how rude he was to us and the lack of customer service and his answer was “Whatever”. My mom, my husband, my daughter and I were frequently customers of this shop, but after this horrible experience we will not be going back there and I advise you not to take your kids there for a haircut or avoid making appointments with Fernando.

The conversation amongst the employees was unprofessional both times I was in there, which it's seems like talking about these inappropriate subjects is more of a priority than focusing on the hair they're cutting.

I've been going in for a few months now and I've had Lisa do my hair every time. Service is wonderful and I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to get in. My hair was originally down to my hips and I got it cut to a much shorter length and I absolutely love it. She also does a wonderful job when dying my hair. Thank you!!
