Abdul, @jimmy’s Barber shop, is a great guy and listens to you very carefully. He gives me nice haircut every time I go, and understands exactly how I ask him to style me. Abdul don’t try to rush thru the line up of customers. He spends proper time on you to do everything perfectly. I would recommend anyone to go to Jimmy’s and get styled by Abdul.
Jimmy has been in that shop for 52 years. Just think of the changes that he has seen. Same great haircuts for a reasonable price and the added treat of all the local characters coming in to talk with Jimmy or bring him a coffee of getting help out of a "jam".
Staple of the community and Abdul, George and Jimmy are the best!
Lol walked out with a terrible haircut. Please save your money.
Always busy, friendly staff, quick and excellent service
would not advise at all! was gonna go to brothers barbershop down the street but there was a huge lineup mid day. this guy left my hair looking uneven AF. Left my sideburns atrocious. maybe he was too busy watching the tv and talking about HOUSTON FLOOD. WASTE OF MONEY Literally hairs sticking out everywhere
Awesome place top quality service great staff environment
Best llace in town
He is so special and gives great cuts
Good Hair Cut. Great Price!
The Best in BC
He didn't do what I asked but turned out to be right. Years of experience I guess.
Worst haircut I’ve ever had. Old guy can’t see what he’s doing.
Tough one. There are pros and cons. On the positive side, the wait is typically very short, and the atmosphere is perfunctory and simple (good, if you like no-frills experiences). Jimmy is a lovely salt-of-the-earth guy and an institution in Victoria. The negative side is that the barbers vary wildly in terms of skill. I typically have had simple, easy haircuts in the past - some of the barbers are up to the task, and some of them are absolute butchers. In addition, with the Covid mess the price has gone up (not significantly, but noticeably). The low price was one of their best selling points, and despite wanting to invest in a local business I'm not certain I can recommend visiting them with the cons outweighing the pros anymore. If you choose to go, I advise that if you find a barber that does your hair well, stick with them at all costs.
Jimmy gave me a 5 star hair cut at a really reasonable rate. He was fun to talk with, kind and patient which made the whole experience very chill.
Nice one! Comparatively cheaper.
I have been getting my haircuts done at Jimmy's now for probably 15 years and could not be happier. In my opinion this is the best Barber Shop in town. They also win the Monday Magazines best Barber shop award every single year.
Great atmosphere minus the overly misogynistic conversation. The haircut had to be one of the worst I’ve received in my lifetime. I suppose you get what you pay for. Although I have had many great haircuts at similar reasonable prices.
This is a review for Jimmy. He's been my barber for over 20 years ... what can I say.
Best haircut in town for $13.00.
Abdul was the one who gave me a hair cut. And, it was a great experience since the day I got the hair cut numerous people praised my haircut to be nice and smart.
An older fellow with grey hair cut my hair and ignored completely what I asked for. I was very clear with my instructions and ended up with the worst buzz cut I’ve ever had in my life. Uneven all over the place. Incredibly short in places you would never want it short and weird uneven bangs that didn’t match the rest. He used the electric cutters basically all over my head. Save yourself some money and cut your own hair. You will likely do a better job yourself than what you will gets here.
I highly recommend getting your hair cut by Jimmy if he's available.
I need a haircut fixed after I had had it done somewhere else. Jimmy took me in (after closing time!) and fixed it right up. Good service, quick, and I'm happy with my haircut.
Jimmy has been here for over 50 years cutting Victoria's hair. Due to it's convenient location on my walk to and from work I have stopped a few times now. In, out, fast, good. I'm always happy with the end results. Thanks Jimmy, keep on cutting.
Always friendly and the price is right
Good hair cut from George, exactly what I asked for. Charged me slightly more b/c I had a lot of hair to cut, which I thought was weird, but acceptable.
Great service and excellent haircut
They have some great barbers and hair cuts are only$13
Slow and steady. Jimmy's hasn't changed in years and nor should it. This gem of a barbershop has all of the nostalgia and none of the unnecessary frills. Excellent service today from Ryan as well.
The best.
Jimmy is quick and entertaining!
Good place to get change for the laundromat
Very caring and professional hair cut service. He is awesome for baby hair cut too.
Messed up my hair twice in the same month. Never going back ever!
Good haircut for a good price
Awesome place for a haircut
Jimmy is a fun character. Cheap haircuts. Lots of barbers.
My husband goes to Jimmy’s whenever his hair gets too long. The staff are always friendly, and when we go in as a family when it’s time for hubby’s cut Jimmy always greets our daughter with a lollipop and a joke. They even managed to fix the mess our daughter made of her hair, and made her first professional haircut a happy experience.
Super fast haircut that might be what you asked for or might not.
I've been going to Jimmy's for about five years now and in that time I've tried a couple other hair places in Victoria, most which charge significantly more than Jimmy's classic $13 cut, but have been disappointed by everywhere else I've gone. Jimmy's has been great every time I go in. Jordan always gives me the perfect cut, and is always awesome to talk to while he's working. It's always a really fun experience and worth way more than $13! I always get tons of compliments on my hair afterwards, and my wife always loves it. Jimmy himself always provides a nice shave as well when you ask for one. Be aware that they operate with cash - no debit or credit machines found here.
My husband goes there likes it lots.
I've been going to this barber for 4 years now every couple months am pleased with service and quality of what I ask for highly recommended ????
Nice guys with good price.
My man Steven is USTAAD(Expert) in his thing. It was my first time at jimmys but he killed it and he is also really friendly. Sure gonna come back only for Steven.
Abdul is best barber I highly recommend him to you guys Yeahh pa pab!!????????
Friendly barber who does a great cut at a decent price.
I take all my male clients to Jimmy’s! (I work with special needs people) It’s a manly shop with the kindest most friendly people I have ever met. They show compassion and genuine care for EVERYONE that walks in that door. Jimmy and his crew are not just the best but they go beyond the job. The prices cannot be best nor can the atmosphere in a perfect downtown location right beside amazing bakeries and the parking garage! I have to be honest, I’ve been taking clients there for 15 years and it has never changed! It’s open to all with no judgment! Thank you Jimmy for being you❤️
Have been getting my hair cuts here for a while with really nice people and a TV and if you have a child with you they will treat them with a lollipop
No debt or credit card
I like this place for getting a haircut quickly during these unusual COVID-times. Jimmy is fast and professional, does a great old-time job. He remembers you and what style you want...even if he hasn't seen you in six months. Nice! Jimmy and other barbers can do complicated fades and au-courante or trendy barbering. The space is nice; I really like seeing the history on the wall in photos and how each barber adds their own "story" to their workspace. There usually is a wait; my longest was about 20-minutes after the first COVID lockdown. If you are waiting for a specific barber your wait may be longer. There's a TV - usually tuned to sports - to while away the wait. There are other barbers nearby but my go-to-barber is Jimmy's on Fort Street.
Worst service ever. The guy there was so rude. He should learn to listen to what customer want and then start with the haircut.
Excellent services and very friendly staff. Finally a barbershop that can get it just the way I like it... thank you so much Tristan! The establishment gives off a very original, clean-cut five. It was enjoyable from the minute I walked into the minute I walked out
Ok haircuts
Reasonable price fast nd friendly luv what they did to my gbabys hair thkz
Just got a hair cut from Abdul. Guy is on the ball. You can tell he is focused on what he is doing. Friendly, but not constantly chatting. Which is nice because I want a good cut. Overall great hair cut. Great experience.
Great place for the price gets really busy and 13 dollar haircuts
Excellent price. Traditional barbershop. Has been a staple business of downtown Victoria for years.
Good
Nice place in downtown to get a haircut
Top barbershop in Victoria...best service, great price ($13) and experience to boot.
Nothing fancy, but if you don’t need anything fancy, who can argue with a $13 haircut?
Amazing staff amazing service unreal cuts cant go wrong !
Excellent haircut at a fair price! Highly recommended. Jimmy is a nice guy as well!
Finally a great barber for an affordable price.
Used to be good, but all the best and friendly staff left and started brothers haircut just down the road. Same price, better haircuts, better service at brothers. Cash only.
Jimmy!!
Abdul gave me a beard trim. Amazing. That man is a craftsman. Highly recommended.
Lots of experience.
I have been getting my hair cut at Jimmy's since finding out about this place 2 yrs ago, shortly after moving to Victoria. In these 2 years I have only noticed one small issue where my bangs were 1/4" longer on one side, BUT I have a crooked jawline, so it wasn't necessarily the barber's fault. I am always greeted when I walk in the door and I am always treated like I'm at home. Jimmy is a sweet man who truly loves to take care of everybody that walks through that door. I have been treated with that same respect and courtesy every time that I've been there, no matter who has cut my hair. I will continue to be a Jimmy's customer as long as I live here and I have no plans of leaving anytime soon. Jimmy, just keep doing what you do so well and thank you for making me feel at home!
Jimmy is the man.
Fast, cheap and easy haircut!
If I could give it a zero I would . Terrible service
Jimmy is lovely.
Great place fir mens cuts and cheap
My bother who has been going to Jimmys Barber Shop (and previously Gord's Barber Shop) for years and lives in Blenheim was in yesterday to get his hair cut and who has had a dramatic weight loss due to a serious diagnosis could tell that Jimmy was "laughing at him" as there was no other reason/conversation for Jimmy to be laughing while he was cutting his hair. My brother always tips Jimmy $1 as well but when Jimmy goes to Jazbah in Chatham and orders drinks he never tips my brother who use to work there. Shame on you Jimmy!!!!!!!
Nice friendly staff
Great haircut from Good O'l Jimmy the Greek.
Today my boyfriend and I went in to get him a makeover, he had a year of hair on his face and head. We went in, the man made his hair look clean, classy and grown up. I was incredibly impressed. It was under twenty dollars and had a very comfortable atmosphere. Thank you so much, we will be back!
Very professional and friendly!
I’ve been here a few times and the guys are really friendly and i enjoy their company. I had been growing the top of my hair and combing it over, it took over 6 months to grow out. I went in to trim the back and sides a few weeks ago and no major issues. Today though for whatever reason, Jimmy was trimming the back, switch clippers and cut off all my hair on the top. The damage was done before I could say anything and now I have a shaved head. What’s left is brutal, it’s so uneven and I just lost 6 inches of hair. I really wouldn’t recommend it and I’m never going back.
I think Jimmy is going Senile I got the worst haircut of my life. He mumbled some crap like "there, for your future wife" and slapped some gel into my hair. It wasn't evenly cut or anything what I asked for. He then pursued to cut the next persons hair before I paid him...
You get what you pay for. Cool old school barber shop and really cheap, around $13. If you're looking for a standard issue hair cut this is an alright place to go. I am not too picky about my hair but when I tried a new barber, after going to Jimmy's a few times, I was asked if I had been cutting my own hair as it was pretty unevenly cut.
Jimmy and George are Great
Jimmy has been cutting hair for 51 years. He does a great cut with an eye for details. What a great find!! We will go back!
George. He's the guy at the back. He does well with what I give him to work with. I'd post a pic but I got-n-ugly face! The only thing is you gotta find out when he's going on vacation because he stays away TOO DAMN LONG!
I've had good visits to Jimmy's in the past, but during my most recent visit, I was simply appalled at the lack of professionalism of the man who cut my hair - a middle aged man (50+ yr old), with mostly gray hair. He is likely new, as I've never seen him before. He was not focused on my hair, stopped his work so he could ask his buddy to get a drink for him, was extremely sarcastic towards me, made suggestive sexual jokes after seeing women on the TV in the shop, tried to get me involved in them, among others. A $13 haircut may be a good deal, if you're willing to tolerate such employees cutting your hair. I'm not - and I'll go elsewhere next time.
I called to Jimmy's barber shop to make an appointment, the guy on the line was very rude and degrading, he yelled at me for not speaking English well enough and hung up!
Just great barber, Jimmy is entertaining and very skilled! A+
Quality can vary. I have had mostly excellent haircuts, but I have had a few less excellent ones as well. But the less excellent ones were still pretty decent haircuts. Atmosphere and price Is exactly what I want in a barber.
Been coming here for 5 years always happy ! Jimmy is a lovely fella
First off the guy(Jimmy) did not listen when I gave him instructions of how I'd like my facial hair to look, instead he does whatever he thought was right. Second he completely screwed up his correction. Third didn't even bother dusting off the hair he left all over my forehead and neck. Extremely dissapointed in a supposed professional shop. Garbage.
One the best barbers on Vancouver Island!!
One the best barbers on Vancouver Island!!
If you want a great haircut, come see George. I've been getting my haircut by him for years and couldn't be happier.
Walked by, saw lone barber waiting for customers and decided to try my luck... Should have read the reviews first. Worst haircut I've ever had. Uneven and really short. Need to find another barber to fix this tomorrow, likely going to be a buzz cut. Listen to the reviews, do not let Jimmy cut your hair.
Amazingly skilled Barbers. They take their time to do it right, also offer straight razor shaves. Next level staff. Highly recommend going to Jimmy's
A great haircut from Jimmy himself, as Arnold said in The Ter.inator...."I'll be back, lol
Abdul at Jimmy's barbershop is the best in town, good price, friendly and always follows the Covid 19 protocol.
Went to get a haircut today. First, I was really a hot mess, so it was nice to see a great cut come quickly from Abdul. But then I forgot my jacket and phone. Abdul, used my phone's emergency contact to get in touch with me so I could run back and grab my forgotten items. Amazing, as I really had no idea I forgot my things there. Great cut and excellent Morales, I'll keep coming back!
Found a true Barber who actually listened and cared.Best cut Ive had in a very long time.2thumbs up for Jimmy's!
Someone recommended I got to Brother's Barber shop, but there were 10 guys waiting for a haircut so I walked down to Jimmy's and he invited me in with my road bike so I wouldn't worry about it. I told Abdul what kind of cut I wanted, he said he would take care of me. That he did! Best haircut and service I've ever received.
Don't let Jimmy cut your hair. He was asked to ONLY trim the sides, but he took his razor straight to the bangs and all over the top of the head. The end result was basically a buzz-cut with very short and UNEVEN bangs. There were also lots of strands all over the head that were noticeably longer than the rest of the hair. Not sure how Jimmy missed so many hairs when he tried to buzz the whole head, but he did a terrible job. The other barbers do a nice job though. Just make sure you don't sit in Jimmy's chair...
I wish I could give them no stars. My husband asked for a trim and they shaved his head and left a 4” square patch of hair on top. Didn’t even fade the sides. This is the second time we tried jimmys and they don’t know how to listen to the client. Now we have to wait for it to grow out. Thanks for the lousy cut!
I don't know where jimmy finds his barbers but he needs to hire some new ones, one of the barbers a greek guy just buzzed my hair when i specifically asked for a certain style, another guy made my hair uneven and very hard to style, and the new guy who has dark hair and looks of foreign descent I have only seen there once butchered my hair, i asked for my hair to be forward and up at the front, i dont know where he got his training to be a barber but he butchered my hair, thank god for hats, he even stopped in the middle of the haircut to text I am never going back and never recommending jimmys
Hands down the worst haircut I’ve ever received.
great
Literally the worst haircut I've ever received. The first time I went to Jimmy's I received a poor haircut, but like anything else I was willing to give it a second chance. The next time around, it was even worse. Asked for an inch off the top and Jimmy practically shaved my head to a centimetre in length! Couldnt believe my eyes. I will admit Jimmy himself is a heck of a nice guy, very pleasant to talk to. His hair cutting skills, however, leave something to be desired. Even at the price of $13 I would definitely recommend finding another shop that knows what they're doing. Will not be returning
Don’t let the owner cut your hair. I went in to get a fade. Walked out with almost no hair. He turned me away from the mirror which was weird and when I had a second to sneak a peak, the damage was already done. The hair cut is terrible and he didn’t even do the fade. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Wrost hair cut in my life.
When I was younger, this would have seemed like a place for my uncle to go get a hair cut. Now I'm my uncle, so I go there.
Short wait, very low price cut.
Good cut at a great price! I drive from Chatham just to go here.
I don't think its fair to give a woman a man's haircut and charge her more. Period.
Abdul did an AMAZING fade and I highly recommend him to anyone that needs a haircut. I had a horrible experience at another barbershop just down the street where they offer the same priced haircuts, they made me wait in line for 45 minutes and were letting people cut in line and also letting people who were THREE spots behind me go ahead of me. I went in to Jimmys and was treated with nothing but respect, this place has real proper management unlike the place down the street. Also this fade blows theirs out of the water!!! Great job, Abdul! 5/5

Without a doubt the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. Do not go here under any circumstances.
Been going for 5 years. Jimmy's is the best. Jimmy is lovely as are all staff. Classy place. !
Been going for 12 years. Barbers are great, no-nonsense, dependable and cheap.
Always excellent service.
OK, I've been shopping for a barber in Victoria for some time and been trying different ones. At Jimmy's I went in yesterday and asked for a trim, said I only wanted a little bit cut off and careful not to make it too short. He said no problem and sat me down, turned me away from the mirror (which is common, of course) and then I heard the clippers buzz on. I thought, oh, he will be doing my sideburns first. That's when I felt the clipper go all the way up the side of my head. My hair was about 3-4 inches long yesterday morning. Now it's so short you can see the skin on my skull through the buzzed haircut. I wanted to feel good and attractive, as we all want when we get a haircut. Now I don't really want to go out into public. I wish the barber would have listened to me and not said OK, no problem, and then buzz all my hair off. I really don't have hard feelings because that's not my way, but I won't be going back.
Jimmy is nice but probably is too old for the job now. Been twice, but won't go again. Very long waits sometimes. First time employee did ok job but was overly chatty in an annoyingly arrogant manner. Second time was Jimmy himself who is nice enough but hard to communicate with and manages to drop the Cape constantly and get hair just about everywhere on you (and in shirt) without bothering to even try to clean it. He didn't seem to be cleaning the buzzer or scissors between customers either....
