The only good person I've ever had there is Laura; she's the only reason this is two stars. Today I went in to get an simple haircut that every other stylist I've had anywhere else can cut in 15 minutes tops. I spent over half an hour with an inexperienced, impersonal, passive-aggressive woman named Lona. She cut my sides very asymmetrically; I politely pointed out that they looked awkward and if she could just fix them quickly. She immediately became defensive. "I didn't do anything, it was already like that," she said. Lona tried to fix it, and then took the mirror to show me, rudely pointing out how "perfect" the poorly made corrections were. She was SO obviously inexperienced and needlessly rude, and didn't brush any of the hair off my face, so I left with a face full of clipped hair and a really mediocre haircut. Nice. Horrible service, silly product up-selling tactics, passive-aggressive, impersonal, inexperienced people, absolutely NEVER returning again. Spend a few bucks extra somewhere else and get a respectful person with people skills who knows what they're doing.

I have been going to them for a while now and I have to say that they have definitely become my "first choice" when I want to get my hair cut.They have a very friendly staff who were very lenient with me when I decided to have a walk-in rather than making an appointment. They are really good at what they do and every time I have had my hair cut by them,I have left feeling satisfied with my haircut as they have always not only asked me on how I would like my hair to be cut but also they have given me some very valuable advice on what would happen if i cut my hair more from one end. If there were any complaints I have,that would be that I had to wait a little bit more than I expected but honestly that might be more because of the fact that I haven't made a prior appointment before. In conclusion, I would like to say that they are very good at what they do and you should definitely try them out. Who knows? They might be your "first choice" for your next haircut!

I always go to first choice it’s cheap and they get me in quick, however somehow every time they cut my hair it’s never done right the first time. The last time I went for bangs what I usually get from them as I have long hair and don’t get anything fancy I had to go back but they did fix them. Today I asked for what I don’t think is hard is whispy bangs simply meaning I don’t want thick cut bangs which I had explained, she asked me what length I want I said to my eyebrows. Somehow I’ve ended up with short UGLY bangs above my eyebrows that are choppy and overall a disaster. She knew I wasn’t pleased with them and repeated several times that I just need to train them. Training them to lay flat without my part will not fix them and now I have to wait months for them to grow out, I refuse to go back I don’t want more of my hair to be chopped Willy Nilly and they cannot take back what’s done. Honestly just pay the extra money for a high end salon because this one is honestly trash with inexperienced hair stylists.

Just received the worst haircut of my life from Penny. Not only did she not do what was asked and in some spots nearly scalped me... in others she didn't cut at all. I left in frustration and will have to head elsewhere to try and salvage things until my hair grows back in. Will not be back after going here for near 15 years.

I had the worst experience at this place. So Friday I walked in and ask if they had an opening to do a hair cut.. the lady responds that they do I just have to wait a half hour so me of course is like that's not to bad I will just wait.. Well a half hour goes by and the call my name so I go over to the chair waiting to get my wash the lady tells me to sit and start to but the cape on. Me I'm like okay we'll skip the wash today then so as soon as she get the cape on me and started to get my hair ready to be cut..MMM hello would you like to know what I would like done before you just start cutting.. so ask she was doing this I said to her this is the style and the look that I'm going for Soni showed her and she didn't even look at the picture. So I tried to explain to her as she was cutting away at something she didn't even know how I wanted it cut. So after she trimmed all my hair looks at me and starts to do my side bang I wanted, cuts it and I noticed my hair wasn't even and she looks at me and says it's only off a little and didn't care to fix it so then she starts to blow dry my hair and I asked if she was done yes said yes I was like umm no this isn't the style I wanted and she told me I was wrong and then went back and but three layers in the back of my hair and left the front. So once telling her I wasn't happy with it she refused to fix any of it so I left and called the. Manager as I didn't get the service nor the hair cut I was looking for even when I explained to the lady it wasn't right and I was told I have to go from Friday until Sunday before I can even speak to a manager to get them to fix the mistake there employee GLORIA messed up.

When it was my time (stylist was working on someone previously which is understandable) she said oh I am going to take this gentleman first as he has been sitting here a while. They're nice people, but they can't cut hair at all. I showed them a picture of what I wanted, I had the hair length to pull it off and the head shape too, The woman said, "Yea I'll make look just like that.". Then she decided to point and a haircut framed on the wall and she said she'd make it look like that. Not exactly what I want, but still looks nice, fine. She goes on cutting, continuously announcing how surprised I would be. She was right, I was surprised at how my haircut looked nothing like what I asked for nor the poster she pointed at. I don't know who hires these people but they should stop and reconsider their life choices. I was gonna give this no stars, but they won't let me post the review unless i give them at least one. What i wanted on the right what i basically got on the left.

There are only 2 hair dressers that have been tending to one customer each for the past 30 minutes - no acknowledgement for the customer waiting for so long. It’s unfortunate that there is no efficiency at all. I won’t come to this location again as they don’t value your time.

Their online booking system is a joke! We booked an appointment / did an online check-in and reached the place before the booked time. However, still had to wait 20 mins. Meanwhile, a customer who walked in minutes late had the audacity to demand the same stylist that she had booked for an earlier time without realizing that there are other booked appointments still waiting for their turn...and the stylist was keen on taking her on as well ...Just WOW!! ???? I am not surprised that other clients have had issues with them for the check-ins. Don't do double dipping for more clients when you obviously cannot handle them all simultaneously! Totally disappointed and irate at their customer service...

Always busy and often a good wait. Decent hair cutting services and I have been generally happy with the end result. Today's experience though will likely make this my Second Choice... Put my name in and was told 3 people ahead of me and about a 20 minute wait. With 3 people working it seemed reasonable. After 5 people were called ahead of me and one for certain signing in well after me I discovered that my name no longer appeared in their system. Someone else's name was called out 3 consecutive times and he was served the first time his name (not mine) was called. Whether a glitch or someone simply pressed the wrong key and deleted my name I ended up waiting 45 minutes and was no longer in their computers cue. Unacceptable... Not that many people there to confuse the staff either. Just inattentive and poor service. Not happy, and being frustrated I just left!

They will cut your hair very fast because they don't have time to communicate with you and know what you want. They will let you tell them what length you want and they will do it. They can't give you any professional and stylish advice because they don't have any. Nancy is the terrible, for my opinion. She was keeping bragging herself when she was cutting my hair, and she was very fast done her job. The result is that my hair was more shorter than I expected and look nothing like the picture I showed to her. Really bad experience. Won't choose her any more if I go there.

This is one of the worst places to get a haircut. Their staff can't understand English well. They're not trained to cut hair at all. They can cut the length you want but that's about it, they can't do any styles or photos you show them. I saw a few customers walk out with botched haircuts. I would NOT recommend this location for eyebrow waxing. Firstly, they do not do appointments for eyebrows, it is a walk-in service. I was told it would be approximately 20 minutes and it was an hour before I got in. I showed the employee a picture of what I wanted my eyebrows to look like (a picture of myself and how I like them done) and they look nothing like the picture! In fact, they look more like her eyebrows. One is longer than the other, they are different shapes, different thicknesses and both are WAY too thin for me. I gave this establishment two stars because the girls working there were relatively kind, but will be spending the next month filling them in and most likely drawing them back on.

Wait time is not worth it, going to a doctor's appointment is much quicker. Wait time for a haircut is an hour, even with an appointment booked. They rush cutting your hair though.

Don’t ever book an appointment online because they won’t follow it. I booked an appointment and when I arrived she told me to wait 1 hour because she was doing color for someone else. So the fact I booked an appointment doesn’t mean anything because they still will take walk in’s ....unbelievable. What kinda shady operation are they running. First Choice sucks!!! I don’t ever plan on going back and don’t recommend anyone else either.

The lady was very unfriendly . Told her what i wanted ( a trim) she told me to " pull your phone out of your pocket and search google for mens cuts and show me a picture" she was not nice and very mean . I apologized to the other hairdresser and left the building without a haircut

Falsely claiming that the customer has lices and dandruff and trying to sell their useless products, probably they earn more on commissions than cutting hair. None of them know how to cut hairs and they make you wait for so long...they deserve no stars. ????

These people have NO idea what they're doing. I asked for a trim, leaving it an inch and a half long - repeated it three times. She said she would use scissors, but then just grabbed the shears and gave me a prisoner-of-war buzzcut, leaving tufts everywhere. STAY AWAY !!!

Lona was great. I went in for a last minute hair wash. She washed my hair thoroughly even though it was only another 30 minutes before store closing. She was friendly as well. Probably one of the best hair wash I have ever had ! Will definitely go back????

Very disappointed with the service. I booked an appointment in advance and when I arrived I waited 40mins. I don't see any point in booking an appointment because apparently they don't honour it. She clearly took walkins and couldn't care less about my appointment. This happened a few times now. Either don't have booking service at all and just walk in only or if you do stand by it. It's unacceptable to make a customer wait 40mins when they have an appointment.

My husband went in for a trim. He had shoulder length hair. He explained to the woman that he wanted a trim and even showed her a picture of the cut that he wanted. She instead took the clippers and ran it up his head. He left with the sides almost to his scalp and a little puff of longer hair on the top of his head. How someone could misunderstand a request so badly boggles the mind . Such a debacle.

I came to this first choice hair cutters for an all over color and blow out. Not only were the staff friendly and welcoming but my hair turned out AMAZING. I've came here multiple times before, but unfortunately I do not think I may return after my recent experience. It was before the long weekend so the shop was filled with people wanting a haircut and there were only 3 staff working. Therefore, the staff were in a rush and completely misunderstood what I wanted with my hair due to the distractions and eagerness to be finished. By the time they put the razor to my head, it was too late to make a correction so I just hoped it did not turn out too bad. Unfortunately it is no where close to what I asked for and I told the stylist it was not what I wanted. She became defensive and told me it was my fault as I did not explain it properly (I thought the customer is always right?). Nevertheless she offered NO discount for the poor haircut. Please add more staff in the shop during the days before long weekends or in high demand times so the stylists do not rush haircuts.

I went here to cut my newly installed extensions by Ruth. I have 24" extensions and Ruth did a great job, I'm very happy. She kept the length, blended nicely, and let me relax. Ruth did a better job cutting my hair than 2 big salons I've been to in Vancouver!

My husband booked a haircut at 7:30pm today (Mon 14th Sept). The woman with whom he booked his appointment did not end up cutting his hair and he got someone else. His haircut is terrible and he is very disappointed. The lady did not pay any attention to detail and his hair does not look like it was cut by a professional.

I wanted to have roots done, I came in to ask if they have time for that. I came to the counter, a lady told me it will be a second and that i should sit down. I waited 10 min, more people came in, she never got back to me. I don't even know if they were able to do color that day. Was i supposed to sit there for an hour and wait while she finishes clients who came before me just so that she can tell me they cannot do it today?
