The girl I had took direction really well, gave me an absolutely great haircut / fade. A bit pricy for the tiny thing of D:FI hair molding clay but well worth it. Washed my tiny hairs out after the cut and I felt like a million bucks. I had been looking to get my hair cut on a Sunday before I took a ferry to quadra and this worked perfectly. Would go next time I’m in the area

I went in to see Anna for highlights. During the washing out and toning, she admitted that it went white and then she added a dark toner to counter it. I got a dark hair colour with very little variation of colour and no blond highlights along with some grey streaks. I was charged 150.00 for it. I went back to speak to the owner and ask for a refund. She sat me down in front a sunny mirror and said my hair looked beautiful. Both my husband and a waitress have said that it does not look right as he has seen me for years with proper blond highlights. Anna is a new hair stylist and should have owned up to the fact that she made a mistake instead of charging me the full price. She did not show me a mirror on my back hair to see it and I did not know the full extent of it until I got home. As a result, I returned to see if they could reimburse me before I left town, but they did not. I found it unethical and disappointing. More importantly, this young hair stylist tried to say it was my hair that was the issue and that it was colour resistant when no where in my life has that been the case in salons in the past. I hope that others are careful when working with this salon and stylist with regards to hair colour.

Admittedly, usually just there for a very simple men's haircut / trim, but always met by friendly staff at the door. Never had to wait longer than a few minutes for my appointment, not that anyone would book a haircut when they're tight for time anyways?! Typically see Ellen or Sharlynn (sorry if I misspelled...) and always happy with the service and end result.

Very poor experience involving management. They double booked the stylist we were booked in to see and then treated us very poorly when we arrived for our appts. Making out like us having been sick two weeks prior and no one having any symptoms any longer, and negative Covid tests on hand all around, had anything to do with it. They did not try to reach me to inform me that they had intention of canceling our appts. They just went ahead and double booked in a color for someone else with the stylist we wanted to see in our already booked appt slots, because they rake in more dough that way. I have worked in customer service all of my life, for almost forty years. What a terrible way to treat any customer. We (a family of four) will never darken their doorstep again after being treated so badly, and will be sure to share our experience with everyone we know.

Went for a hair cut today.. first one since COVID.. was pretty excited since it was pretty crispy.. carol cut my hair today, she was very pleasant and nice to talk to however the hair cut took 10 mins to doif I had to guess.She Cut it and curled it and then I was done. I don’t normally curl my hair so I went home to straighten it. Plus I can see the cut better. The layers don’t look very blended and I don’t think she really trimmed anything off my bangs. It’s okay and feels better but not really a great cut in my opinion and when I put it up there’s one long piece that’s hanging in the back I’m guessing it got missed. Having a hard time finding a great cut with out driving all the way to Courtenay. Not trying to be mean because I know they are probably super busy since the quarantine And she was super nice but just kinda disappointed.

Very disappointing. Staff came across nice at first, however, a terrible mistake was made with my hair (large platinum blonde streaks when I asked for a balayage). I gave them an opportunity to fix it and it looked better at first, but the dye quickly washed out after only two washes and the blonde stripes were visible again). I understand mistakes happen, but what happened after was much worse. After trying to resolve the issue over the phone and through email and getting very little response, I decided to go in in person. All I wanted was a refund to cover the cost of getting my hair fixed at another salon. I wish I had not bothered as I ended up leaving in tears after the owner refused to acknowledge that a mistake had been made at all and raised her voice at me in front of other customers. After several minutes trying to explain why the work was not acceptable, she gave me a partial refund (which I really appreciated and would have left happy if it ended at that) and then stormed off saying how she was very upset with me. I found this to be very unprofessional and I was extremely hurt by the way I was treated. Another friend of mine was in the salon later in the day and overheard the owner speaking poorly about me loudly. I have never been so hurt and disappointed by the actions of a business and I hope that no one else has to go through this. If a mistake has been made, I would expect an apology and a refund, not to be shamed and put down in front of other people and be made to leave in tears.

Honestly, giving this place two stars is generous. The person who cut my hair did not know what she was doing. Everything is uneven. Hell, Ray Charles could have done a better job than this person. I am extremely dissatisfied with this ridiculously expensive sub-par hair cut. I could have went anywhere else, and got a better job for half the price, and half the time. I won't be going back.

I am honestly stunned by the haircut I got at this salon! In all my years of having my haircut I have never seen such a lack of skill, care or attention - who cuts long hair by lopping it off in three to four cuts behind their back. I was in and out of the chair so quickly I was literally stunned, and thinking well now I will go and get it washed and then she will even it up. Didn't happen, I was out the door, in shock that I had my hair cut, paid in under 5 minutes. I wish I could include a picture you wouldn't even believe it - even my partner who usually doesn't even notice 4 inches off my hair was speechless - he left it at ... well you can always go get it cut someplace else - believe me I will!! To the owner of this salon please send your young stylists for some cutting training, a salon is not just about color and perms. Unbelievably poor cutting skills!!!

This is a hair salon NOT a place to get your make-up done. Hair stylist are friendly but they are HAIRSTYLISTS. Would not recommend getting make-up done here. The lighting in the salon is very yellow-y and dim so when trying to match foundation to skin tone, you will come out darker than you are. The eyeshadow palettes are the same cheap palettes you can buy off of Amazon and the colour fades after 2 hours. After telling the make-up artist, rather hairstylist that I was going for a neutral smokey eye and going to be photographed, I expected to have contouring and highlighting done but no; not even lipstick.
