Worst hair salon I have ever been in my whole life.. Despite saying and also showing how I want my hair to be done, she was completely not interested and kept talking to the other hair dresser without paying attention in what she was doing and spoiled my hair.. waste of money and time.. And when I said that I want a little short on the side, she was like, if I change now I have to blend the top of the hair. I said do it, coz I want short on the side. She finally did it. But not happy at all with the final outcome. I would never return to this place, and also will ask my co-workers and friends to avoid this place, as it's waste of money plus you spoil your hair. Not worth it at all. I do not recommend this place.

I'm surprised to see the lower ratings here but each barber is different in this place, I'm sure. My experience with Sam is 10/10. The only thing about this place is it could be cheaper. They charge extra for stupid things like even using a zero for a hairstyle. Great for modern or professional cuts!

I took my soon there today for the first time. He saw Tristram for a design and he did do a really good job. Wish I could share a picture. I gave only 3 stars because of the price. I was told over the phone pricing ranges from $5-$50 which was fine, the last time I paid $60 (different stylist) I knew it would be close to or $50 because he wanted a full head design. I'm ready to pay and was told it was $90 ???? there was no way I was paying that. Ended up paying $73 plus tip which was still too much and I'm not sure I'll go back ????

Wish I can give this place a no star So went for a cut Saturday. ..noticed the back and sides was really bad...he can't see so I took pictures to show him...we called monday and they say can recur but it's 2 days later so we have to pay full price....seriously? Told them a older man cut my sons hair and they said it was actually the boss....so make sure u don't get him because he's really bad....they said manager will call me back but didn't get a call yet and it's almost 2 weeks later...don't go here they don't care

Pathetic. I waited 45 minutes to seat and watched several no appointment people get a chair before me. After finally sitting the hairdresser said he's never done a mohawk and can't do it. So I waited another 20 minutes for someone else to do it. He did an awful job and spent half the time on his phone and watching the front desk. The mohawk is lopsided and un even. He also finished off by putting after shave on my head and burnt the living hell out of it.. terrible service.

They are mostly for men ...but sitting alongside those numerous occasions with my wife... the two females haircutters did a wonderful job. As for parents who don't watch their kids at a barbershop as said person admitted...deserved it...haircuts ARE a PERSONAL experience which should be S-H-A-R-E-D...IMO. If not the hairdressers will be left to their own devices... Excuse the pun.

Omar cut my hair. Did not listen to how I wanted my hair cut. I told him a specific way to cut the sides and he didnt do what I wanted. I know this cut since I've had it for 20 years. Upsetting to pay an extra $5 for a fade and it's terrible. Total money grab due to the popularity of the style right now. Wouldn't recommend this guy for your next hair cut. Might or might not go back due to a poor first experience.

By the time I returned home I noticed Razor burns from where the straight razor was used. He didn't use any shaving cream there's also crazy weird things going on with the side burns. One is squared off the other is not. Too strange to even articulate properly. I've been there a few times with good results. I've never had such a rush job done. I will not be returning. Take warning from my review b/c I usually only post good comments about places I visit.

My son came back from getting a haircut on Monday and had an obvious patch of hair in the front over an inch short than the rest of his hair. The gentleman that cut his hair didn't listen to him and cut it to shorter then he asked, then my son said that's not what he said he wanted, he proceeded to keep the rest of the hair long as that's what he wanted but it clearly didn't match the front patch. I can't believe they let him walk out of there looking like that. I would expect a barber that cares about his work to own up to the mistake of cutting the top section too short and offer the client solutions to make up for the mistake and have him leave with a professional haircut. Nope, that wasn't done here, charged him $35 (should have been discounted) for him to come home ashamed and I ended up cutting it to a more cohesive style. We've been going here for some time and it didn't live up to its reputation. 2 stars as it normally is a decent place to go.

I have been taking my 2 sons ages 14 and 11 here for 3 or 4 haircuts. They are very busy barbershop (seems a bit hectic), but overall I have been happy to be able to walk-in and get a good cut. Tristram is a very talented hairdresser, my son's extremely thick hair is difficult to cut well and my son prefers to wear it a bit longer (not a buzz cut); Tristram does a great job. I have been very impressed by the quality of the barbers at the shop in general since a good haircut is important!

Refused to listen to me or my son's choice of haircut. I asked if they could do the photo I provided- said yes, and did NOT. As a paying customer I'd like to be listened to, as such. I was told the barber didn't like the haircut- well guess what?! You don't have to wear It, and my 5 year old has been waiting for the specific cut- he will be the one to wear it. *nothing tricky- just a mohawk* These guys cut hair nicely- but are influenced by their own personal style- and in the 2 times I've brought my son, we've both been very disappointed. I only tried again armed with a photo and was let down due to the barber's personal preference for hair styles. Not fair. Won't be back.

I would rate zero stars if I could. Terrible customer service. I booked my two boys for haircuts, but apparently another customer said they had an appointment as well, even though they weren't in the computer. The barber said he would cut one of my boys and that we should make another appointment for later in the week because he wanted to cut this other customer. Apparently double-booking is an issue here. We were loyal customers for over three years with this barber, and that was the treatment we received. Needless to say, we left and they won't have to book us again as they just lost three customers.

Two stars cause every other time I’ve come here I’ve left with a really great cut but after my appointment today I was thoroughly disappointed with the result I asked for a fade and was given all one length on my left side with an incredibly harsh line and on the right a sad excuse for a blend As for the back it’s patchy and super short in random spots Thinned our my hair far too much that’s its incredibly uneven all over the top Truly this haircut was half assed and finished in less than 25 minuets, he wasn’t focused I kept seeing him looking everywhere else except my hair and it was a really huge let down I never complain about anything online but this cut left me looking absolutely ridiculous To be honest it was a simple cut and I told them in advance what I was looking for so they could’ve put me with someone better suited who knew what they were doing, cause as I’ve said I’ve have great hair cuts here before Final statement: disappointed.

Very disappointed. I went in there today with my 2 year old son. I asked the lady how long the wait was, she told me 30min. I thought ok that's good he will wait that long....well an hour and 20 mins later we were still waiting! I don't understand what happened? When we asked how much longer she said he has to wait his turn. I totally get that, but why did you tell me it was going to me 30 min when clearly it wasn't? Sitting with a two year old that long is insane. Sadly I will never go back again.

Overall I wasn't overly impressed. My haircut was sufficient from the barber who cut my hair but, no wash prior to having my hair cut which seems off. All in all men's haircut was 26 dollars expensive considering the average service which didn't include a wash.

Booked an appt and asked for someone who could provide a stylish cut for a 14 year old boy. When my son was seated we see it was an elderly lady with shaky hands. I kept an open mind but the outcome was predictable. Very patch clipper work on the sides and very poor blending with the longer hair on top. I pointed it out and asked her to fix it, and she tried a bit, but it needed someone more skilled to really make it look nice. I felt a little sorry for her because it seemed she was struggling but I would not go back there if they tried to put her on the job.

Tristram Yeomans is so talented the designs he does in my hair and the other designs I've seen I've never seen anybody else created or their lines. Before I start, I have been getting my hair professionally cut by barbers for 11 years. I have attended barber shops across Southern Ontario from Empire in Ancaster, to Tommy Guns in Kitchener, to Barber Pole & Co. in Cambridge, and many more. I'll start with the good. The MOST important thing about a barber shop is the barbers and The Barber Shop Cambridge Centre has THE BEST. Omar is, in my opinion, the best barber is the tri-cities and maybe in all of Southern Ontario. His attention to detail, quality of workmanship, conversation, available working hours, and consistent attendance make him the single shining star of this barber shop. I have been going to Omar since before he worked at this shop (over 2 years) and will be commuting over 30mins every 2.5-3 weeks just to get his haircuts. If Omar is not available for whatever reason, I would highly recommend Omid as well for the same reasons. If this review was based on the haircut and barbers alone, it would be a 6/5 stars. Now onto the bad. Management - the reason for the missing star. The reception staff are polite, caring, and are great at what they do. Unfortunately for them, the management have not given them the proper training or tools to perform their job to the best of their ability. I can't even count the number of times I have booked an appointment, arrived on time, and had to either wait 30+ minutes or leave entirely. Barbers are constantly being double or triple-booked which impacts all of the remaining appointments for the day. This has a significant impact on the tips for the barbers, the stress levels for the reception staff, and the overall moral of the shop. Customers hear and see this every day. How can you accept appointments from customers and not contact them ahead of time when their barber calls in sick or is delayed? My advice to management would be to ensure reception staff are trained properly, given the proper tools to not double-book appointments, and accept phone numbers from EVERY appointment in the event their appointment is delayed or their barber is no longer available.

I’ve been coming here for years and while my barber is excellent the remainder of the staff are incompetent ( excluding barbers). They need two people to work the desk and don’t have control over walk ups or scheduling appointments. Shocking that EVERY time I make an appointment people always are seated before me and I have to wait. Done with this place, fourth time in a row I’ve had to wait and they don’t care. It’s always I’m sorry but never anything to compensate when I schedule my time or provide my patronage despite always having to allow walk ups in front of my appointment - I even come early to ensure I don’t miss my spot. The desk attendants are obtuse and rude and care more about chatting to their friends than to ensure an orderly and smooth experience. Go elsewhere - seriously for $25 you can get a non frustrating and save yourself 30 minutes of waiting.

I called ahead to make an appointment for my son's VERY FIRST haircut. They tell me we will see Dierdre. When we arrive, Dierdre is with a client and taking her sweet time with them. Chatting away ... I'm sitting with my 1.5 year old for FIFTEEN MINUTES past our appointment time. I ask the front desk for anyone else who isn't busy as there are at least 3-4 others not cutting hair.... Just sitting around. They go tell Omar that he is up and he complains to them that he doesn't want to cut a kids hair. He doesn't know I can hear him whining about it. It's obvious they don't enjoy doing children's hair. I understand... Kids don't sit still and they cry.... I was about to walk out but he came to see us quickly after that. He was quite friendly, I'll give him that. My son had the nicest long wavy curls. And his hair was completely chopped off. I said I wanted to take SOME of the length off. Not all of it . I will not be going back. The haircut is not at all what I asked for.

My boy went to the barber shop at the mall Feb 8 and the barber scalped his neck squaring off his hair what a butcher job. Also my boy had a nice peach fuzz growing looking forward to his first shave and this prick took it away from him without asking. I was outside and didn't pay attention till we walked away my son was devastated . Who the hell is this place hiring ? Do not go anywhere near it . I posted my son's pic on facebook and hope it spreads his poor neck. Went in today to give the clowns cramp and no manager till Thursday . Who the hell is accountable than?????????????

Olmid is my go to barber! Hands down the best barber I’ve been to. Steady hands, very polite! Olmid always does a proper fade and takes his loyal customers very serious. Stays late always works overtime so he’s very dependable! Olmid is that barber that deserves his own shop!

3 stars is really a low rating. My cut was the best in months, will return for sure. Zaki is a master, clearly experienced and honestly was very impressed. Downside...reception staff. 3 separate interactions and all 3 were brutal. Unwelcoming, disinterested and dismissive. As long as Zaki gets my hair right I’ll deal with rest.

First time back in a year my hair was long. I wanted to keep it long just make it less awkward, I have no experience getting hair this long cut or how to describe what I wanted and was relying on their expertise. It was a mistake she was looking to me for exactly what I wanted, I should have walked and returned another day rather than getting a goofy cut...I'll go back in a few days to get my old short cut, because I know how to describe that. Still gave 4* because it's not their fault but had she had the experience to help me I would have left 5*.

Dear valued clients, I am one of the receptionist at the barbershop in the cambridge center. I just want to start out by saying thank you for your business and to those of you who brighten my days! I understand that it can be a frustrating experience sometimes when you make an appointment and unfortunately are stuck waiting. I would like to take a minute to defend myself by saying, I do try really hard to accommodate you all as best as I can. I have had so many days where I am yelled, cursed at and blamed for many things that are unfortunately out of my control. I do admit that the desk can be chaotic and disorganized at times, and I'm doing my best to get systems in place to resolve that. It can be very overwhelming sometimes but I do love my job. Things to please remember for future visits: this is a "time is money" industry so if you have an appointment and have not arrived yet and your barber has finished his previous cut in enough time that they feel they can do another haircut before your appointment, they will take a walk in. That unfortunately is not in my control. I must do as I am told by the barber. Also it is very important to be precise when I ask what service you are having done, if you say "just a haircut" and then come in and ask for a zero fade and a beard trim once in the chair, it does put the barber behind for their next appointment, please be as precise as possible for what service you feel you require so that it allows the barber to be on time for both your appointment and the appointments following yours. please I ask you kindly to be understanding. Everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect. I try really hard to make the changes at the desk as much as I can to provide you with the best service and experience that I can. I live life with one philosophy, to be kind to everyone because you never know what they are dealing with in their own life. Thank you for taking the time to read this! Incredibly disappointed with this "barber shop". The haircut was decent, did exactly as I asked. When it came time to trim my beard the hair cutter completely disregarded what I asked to have done. I asked to have the sides cleaned up and to leave length on my cheeks and jaw. He grabbed a buzzer and lopped the entire thing off. Not AT ALL what I wanted. 3-4 months of growing out a beard which I have recieved many compliments on GONE. Needless to say I will not be returning to this hole. Rude receptionists and poor listening skills. You pay top dollar for inferior results.

I love going to this barber shop for my son, he’s had his hair cut by Zaki and Omar a handful of times, it’s convenient in location and they almost always do a fantastic job. My reasoning for a 4 is because my son's haircut that he received yesterday is one of the worst trims I’ve ever seen.. I know children may sometimes be difficult, but my son loves getting his hair cut and styled. He stays very still, because he knows if a mistake is made it has to be cut again, and he knows what he likes. So this specific cut was done by a very nice, however shaky and unfocused, elderly woman. She kept staring at me while I was standing outside of the shop and my son was in the chair, and I couldn’t understand why, but it created unnecessary anxiety. As soon as he came up to me I thought to myself “oh no..”, paid, and left. Now I’m at home, fixing the mistakes on a haircut I spent $25 on. Frustrated is an understatement.

When I moved to Cambridge I was told go to the barber shop at the mall they are great. So I have used for months but recently have been turned away being told they are booked up for the night with over an hour before closing. This is with one person in the chair and no one else around. A haircut is what maybe 10 mins disappointed and won't be back ever again considering this was the 2nd time in two weeks and 4th time in last couple months. Poor service.

The woman who cut my hair said that she was never trained to use a curling iron or flat iron and was only trained as a barber. Most people who have curling irons never took courses or were trained. It's not rocket science. Why book a woman with someone who can't do women's hair? Won't be returning.

I'd been going to this place since it opened and finally had enough of their terrrible front desk staff. They're unorganized, rude, and make getting a cut a chore instead of an enjoyable experience. The barbers are great and deserve 5/5, but the front desk staff are just brutal. Worked out well in the end though - found a place that I like better, gets a full point higher score on google, and is cheaper. Thanks for inspring me to look somewhere else!
