I have been coming here for the last 6 months and have always had a great cut. I've had my haircut by 4 different barbers but settled on Sonam to be my regular. In December Sonam let me know that he would only be taking appointments going forward. Works for me...or so I thought. I made an appointment a couple of days before New Years and showed up a few minutes before my appointment time. I didn't see Sonam when I got there but thought maybe he had stepped out or would be arriving specifically for my appointment. I patiently waited and sat there for about 20 minutes past my appointment time while neither of the guys working said anything. Finally one of them finished up his cut and asked if anyone there was waiting for an appointment. He told me that Sonam wasn't coming in and if I'd like to re book. I was a little choked that I'd come all that way ( i live in the NW) and that they made me wait there 20 minutes past my appointment time before saying anything (not to mention they had my phone number from when I made my appointment and could have called me to let me know before I got there!). I'm probably more patient than most and chalked it up to a one time mistake so I re booked and had my cut rescheduled a couple of days later. The cut was great as usual but I was a bit disappointed that the missed appointment wasn't mentioned or apologized for by Sonam, he is afte all the owner! I had one other appointment without any issues until yesterday. I made an appointment at 4:30. Got there around 4:25 and noticed Sonam wasn't there again. I waited until 4:40 and finally asked one of the guys if Sonam was coming today. He said he couldn't get a hold of him..so no he wasn't coming. If it's happened to me twice in the last couple of months I can imagine I'm not the only one. I ended up leaving and getting a cut somewhere else. The cut wasn't as good but they did seem to respect the fact that I was trying to give them my business...something that Sonam and his team need to learn and I hope they do because from what I saw there they all are very talented as barbers...I just won't be returning to find out. I love this place. Primarily because of the consistency of the staff. Other places, the staff turnover is high and you end up with someone new every time you go. The atmosphere here is very relaxed. They don’t rush you through, but take the exact right amount of time. Plus the shop isn’t a social joint with conversations and carrying on with a bunch of hangers on. It’s super professional. I highly recommend.

Honestly the best barber shop in the city. We have followed Sonam from another shop because he is truly the best at what he does. He cuts my young kids hair and they refuse to go to anyone else. He makes them feel comfortable and they always leave looking like the coolest kids around.

A "True Gent" doesn't complain that the woman washing the windows isn't hot enough. I went in for my first haircut and shortly after I sat down, he says (referring to the woman outside) "I can't believe I have to stare at that ass all day. I wish they'd get someone hotter around here." A true gentlemen wouldn't say that. Gentlemen should respect a woman who does her job. Can't say I'll be coming back. If any of you guys have respect for the women in your life, you'll find another barber.

I recently finished my Masters, and I have to thank Tripp for the boost in confidence that I felt whenever I was either preparing for or taking my exams. And it showed in my performances. I literally just called True Gents to ask to book an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. He told me that I could just come in and they would be working citing the hours of 10:00 to 7:00. I thought perhaps he didn’t hear or make out what I was asking so I asked again if I could book an appointment for tomorrow and he again repeated “Just come tomorrow. We will be here from 10:00 to 7:00.” Kind of a passive aggressive and dismissive and actually pretty pretentious response. So no appointment then lol. A business can have excellent product but when it doesn’t follow through with basic policy or even acknowledging a clients requests in the normal scope of their operation it’s really disappointing.

Normally my experiences here are okay. But I just walked out one of the worst haircuts ever. My buzz cut was uneven and my beard line was horrible. I had to go to a different barber shop to fix the horrible haircut and beard. She also kept asking me questions on how to do a beard line. Clearly she didn’t know what she was doing. Also look behind my left ear to find that she didn’t even trim the hair off there. Very unhappy.

Simply put, these guys give the most consistent hair cut in the Southwest. I haven’t had a single hair cut that has gone wrong. Jun and Sonam are super personable, easy going and I love the vibe. I've been coming to see Sonam since I moved to Calgary 6 years agao, before he had opened this fantastic Barber shop. Every time I get my hair cut I have at least 10 people ask me where I go for a cut and I tell them only the best! TRUE GENTS I had called Sonam (the owner) 10 mins before closing time and told him I was leaving for Vegas the next morning. He stayed at the shop and waited for me 25 mins to get there and spent an hour chatting and watching the basketball game while delivering a spectacular cut. I would fly across the world to get my hair cut by Sonam. While I've been going to him for cuts I've saw first hand the talent that every barber that he works with has. It's so hard to find one good barber but at True Gents you have a staff of excellent barbers all very friendly to boot!! Highly recommend this as your go to barber

I'm weary of barbers because they can make your life hell or they can help you pull broads like no tomorrow. The True Gents serve you with the utmost care, ensuring that when you go out that you will be looking fresh! Wait times can be a little while but as a consumer you should expect nothing else when you do a walk up, though the comfy waiting chairs and football on screen makes the time fly. The Gentlemen who do the work are all kind and know how to ask the right questions to get the right look for yourself. I'm unaware of if they cut hair for women but for fellas this place is fantastic.

Today was my first time in a barbershop ,I came in to get a light beard trim after growing my beard for about a year ,I Kent remember the name of the barber he was a heavy set oriental guy with tattoos. I was real specific about what I wanted trimmed I never ask to have my moustache chopped off took me a long time to get that thickness prabebly take me five months to grow it back to what it was .will not be a returning customer

Drove over to their shop for a haircut. Web says they're open until 8 and I show up at 7 this evening (Friday)...sign on the building says 'OPEN'. Doors locked, guy inside walking around. I knock on the door to get his attention, he looks at me then looks away....knock again...same routine. I call...won't answer the phone. Walk back outside and knock on the window...guy looks at me and says they're closed. Quite a business you guys got going there. Will not be back. I'm not certain what the purpose of this business is(?)

Terrible hair cut. Owner tried his best to fix it but it is still ended up being uneven and subpar. So bad he didn't charge me and I still feel like I paid too much. Will not go back again.

Obviously there is alot of barbershops in the city, but this place is hands down the best there is. Great location, always clean, good music and on top of all that great barbers.

I have been visiting this barber shop since they opened. Great cut, great customer service, worth the drive (I live in the NW). Plenty of parking on the street or underground parking.
