ASK FOR PHILLIP — Social Cut & Shave is a great spot for all your grooming needs. Hip atmosphere with great music and friendly stylists/barbers. They now carry Aveda products which is awesome and I have always walked out feeling (and looking) like a million bucks. I’ve been seeing Phillip for years now but any of the team are more than qualified to take care of you. Be sure to request a complimentary hot towel facial!

They do everything right here, including some things that should be the rule at every barber shop but that, in the 50 or so years I've been getting haircuts, I've never seen before my cut yesterday at Social. I set an appointment for 11 and was greeted at the door by my barber, a very nice young man named... Ed? Ted? Anyway he's one of the three owners and is, I came to learn, of Filipino extraction and we had a nice rollicking conversation over the course of my visit. After introducing himself he invited me to go into a change room and to swap my shirt for one of their t-shirts, Social branded, so I wouldn't get clippings all down mine. SCORE! I had never seen this before but every barber shop, if they have the space (and Social is a big, accommodating space), should offer this. I loved this, I ended up with zero itchy clippings as I headed home. The cut itself was perfect, flawless, and after the barber cut my hair and had me approve it with my glasses back on, asked me to stand and follow him a few steps where he rinsed my hear in the hairwash sink. This was another brilliant idea, no stray clippings covering my hands when I ran my hand through my newly-shorn head. This was another first for me. Now you'd expect that all this gold-star treatment would have made this haircut super pricey- but nope, going rate for a short hair "buzz cut" came to around $26. Not cheap but far from expensive and less than I've paid for experiences that weren't remotely this pleasant.

Really beautiful shop on 17th here you really get the full experience. You’re given another shirt to put on so the one you came in with doesn’t get full of hair. They wash your hair before the cut, I made an appointment as well, so I got in right away. Tyler was my barber he put a lot of effort and time into my haircut which was great. I highly recommend visiting this shop for a great experience. Thank you!

If you want a sick fade and and awesome shave this is the place to get pampered. I typically enter the place looking like Robin Williams in Jumanji and leave looking like Tom Hardy. Any chair in the place will take care of you, but Kelsey is the bomb!

I had a $30 haircut, and it will be the last time I underpay for a haircut. The guy was super nice and personal. I thought he seemed professional to begin with, spent almost an hour on the sides, both of the other barbers were able to finish their clients, and then the next while he did my sides. Diligence I'm not sure, I had to get my friend use my trimmer to fix the mistakes. Other than the terrible cut, the atmosphere was great, clean and had more amenities than I'm used to. I will be back but will spend the extra $30 bucks for someone who knows what their doing.

I discovered this place as a walk-in when my normal barber was closed. I've now had two cuts w/ Tyler Arndt and am super happy with the job he does. First, he took the time to think about what kind of cut would look best for me and offered some great suggestions. Second, he doesn't rush through the cut and is careful to make sure everything looks right. Now that my hair has started to grow in the way he suggested, I've been getting lots of compliments on my cut. Glad I found this place!

Great experience! Didn't know it was there, walked in because I was getting a little shaggy, and they luckily had room for a walk-in head shave. Hana was awesome - I've gotten head shaves before where they miss some of those fine little blonde hairs at the front, but Hana didn't miss a single strand. Atmosphere is cool, location is great, and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend 'em!

I have Nicholas Fortman do my cuts for me. This handsome son of a gun is incredible at his craft. I know little about hair cutting, and the techniques needed to be a good barber, but I sure can tell when someone is putting effort and detail in what they do. Nicholas is a fantastic barber and his standard of service consistently leaves me speechless. Great hair cuts, great conversation, and such a great human to just be around. I never thought I would want a consistent barber as I don't give much attention to my own hair care, but this guy has me leaving the shop feeling good. Not just about the hair cut but good mentally. If you're ever in doubt of where to go for a cut, I can say that Nicholas at Social will have you leaving with a smile, looking great, and all at an incredibly affordable price. He's a gem.

My review is on the location, and service by Philip; I have not tried the other barbers so I cannot speak to them specifically. I have been going here for a little over a year now, and have never been disappointed by the atmosphere or service I’ve received from Philip. The atmosphere is laid back, there is typically some cool heavy on the bass tunes playing, and smiling faces. In my experience you get a great head massage at the sink, and at the end a hot towel and facial products. Philip gives an AMAZING haircut, looking at every strand of hair, from all angles, to make sure it lays right and looks perfect. I have never in my life had a more attentive barber and left feeling as confident in my cut as with him. In my experience walk-ins are welcome however not always able to be accommodated, so feel free to check availability and/or book in advance on the “MINDBODY” app.

What an amazing experience!! I went in after going to get my haircut elsewhere and i didn't get what I asked for at all. My stylist Phillip was phenomenal! He rectified the job done by my previous cut to perfection. It's nice going to a place and leave with what you ask and to that degree of perfection. The shave was unreal. Guys if you have never had a straight razor shave, treat yourself because it's worth it. Phillip trimmed and shaped my beard and cleans up my neck. The hot towels and the treatment is unmatched. The lotions and oils used were great as I have sensitive skin. It was hard to leave after as I was so relaxed. Any one looking to get an amazing hair cut and flawless shave has to try it here!!! Social Shave has just become my permanent spot for going above and beyond anywhere else I've been to. I MUST TRY!!!

A tradition for me to start the vacation with a hair cut. After reading reviews I settled on the Social. A walk in cut (I am not metro enough to make a booking for a crew cut). I received a warm welcome and Ed gave me my normal no 2 all over cut. This was followed by a refreshing rinse and facial cleanse and hot towel. For me the $26 was well spent being a holiday luxury. Highly recommend.

I went to Social Cut and Shave for the first time today and had Nicholas as my hairdresser. He did such a fantastic job! I couldn't recommend him enough! I got home and my gf said it was her favourite haircut that I have ever gotten. He paid super close attention to every detail to make sure I got a great cut. I have gone to a lot of hairdressers and rarely find that they are able to properly handle my longer hair. Nicholas managed it perfectly on my first appointment. The building is really hip and nice inside and all the staff were super friendly!
