My daughter suggested I try Melika. She loved her haircut – as did all of our family. I loved my cut too and will have it done here, whenever I visit, instead of on the Island. I’d recommend Melika to anyone, with long or short hair, you won’t be disappointed. Melika showed me how to blow dry and use my fingers instead of a brush to get the affect I want. I’m not very good with hair, I don’t like fooling around with it, so my Jamie Lee Curtis look alike style works for me, suits me and best of all, takes no time at all. I requested highlights. Sadi insisted that my roots needed to be bleached so that the highlights would blend. Needless to say, the final product was really lousy highlights (looked like single process) with really white/orangey roots!!! It was a nightmare, and I was in tears before a very important event the next day. Sadi spent 4 hours the next day trying to fix the disaster and could not fix the roots. She would not refund the money that I paid (I think my credit card company will), and I will have to go to a new salon to fix the mess. I would give no stars but the minimum is 1.

The BEST hair experience of my life. I wanted a bold ruby red colour, and I was delighted by the results. Giddy, even. She used a creme colour corrector dye, no bleach, and it came out perfectly. Zero damage to my hair, and the bright colour I wanted! The amazing thing is? I dont have virgin hair, so I was worried that without bleach it wouldn't work. At first glance Milikas Hair Saloon is in a small strip of few businesses off a busy road so it’s easily past while driving by. I found Sadie “the owner” merely because I live close by. My hair was long curly multi coloured and damaged. This woman single handedly save my hair. As a hijabi, it can be difficult to find a salon that offers true privacy without the possibility of men walking in, but if you call here and ask for a private cut for hijab, they will actually accomodate you by scheduling at a time when no male clients will be in store. Today Sadie and her daughter were welcoming, and set up a divider to prevent anyone from seeing me. They also communicated to the men who were working outside that they couldn't come in. I tend to be very indecisive about my cuts so after giving Sadie some ideas of what I wanted, I asked for her feedback. She was knowledgeable of what would work best for my hair and face shape, and communicated kindly offering her insights and asking for feedback from me, clearly prioritizing my satisfaction. I'm very happy with the cut and service that I received, as well as the pricing. Thanks!

I came here in the summer and it was the worst hair experience I've ever had. I have straight blunt bangs and face framing layers in the front. I informed her that is how I wanted to keep my hair and just have a trim. She proceeded to cut my hair "her style" with super whispy bangs. My front layers looked like a stair case with very harsh straight cuts, no angle. When I saw it in the mirror I was almost in tears. I asked her to please cut my bangs to how I had asked as this is they way I prefer them. As she continued to cut them shorter and shorter I had to ask her to stop. They were now beyond any fixing. The moment I left I made an appointment at a different salon to get my front layers fixed. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

I wasn't happy with my haircut. Sadie was very nice, and she kept reassuring me that she has a Master's degree in cutting hair. However, the length was very uneven in places, and I ended up trimming the front myself when I got home so that it didn't look so lopsided. It's very short on the sides, but quite long at the crown. It's almost long enough to be a comb-over. I am thinning on top, so maybe she thought she was doing me a favour. However, I have a very long section of hair on top of my head, which is quite weird. She did the sides with the electric trimmer, and simply ran the trimmer up the sides and back of my head. I guess that's an okay technique for a short haircut, but the top of my hair doesn't blend very well with the sides. It's also cut blunt and straight across at the back, rather than being tapered in any way. A friend of mine actually commented on that. I see that she has a lot of very happy female clients, and so perhaps she's just not that good with older men who just want a short haircut. I won't be going back.

My hair is brittle to start with but she managed to keep my hair healthy even though we went to a really light blonde color. She is understanding and listens what you want to do very carefully and works towards it. Im very glad to have that experience and always going back there.

She booked me at the same time of another client and she didn't finished her job only hair cut, and very rush,talking g by phone at the same time she was cutting my hair,. I said I'd like hairstyle too but I had to understand she made a mistake so I left with out any hairstyle, just my hair too short that I told her. I came in with much needed color correction, I decided to try to go blonde by myself at home from almost black hair and my hair was yellow, orange, red and brown mess. Today i had an unforgettable experience at this salon. Long story short i needed to have my hair done for my birthday tomorrow and it wasnt n easy cut and color i needed highlight streaks a cut a full color and my hair extensions which i had previously purchased from sallys weaved into my hair. Given the circumstances of it being my birthday tomorrow Sadie was kind enough to clear her day for me. I called the salon at 345 and told her i could be there by 400 even though they close at 600. When i got to the salon she was just finishing up with a client so the wait was remarkably short. We started with a full blonde color and followed with some lighter highlights. Finishing with a cut right before the extensions. By this time its about 2 hours after they close so around 800 we realize the extensions i had bought were crap. Sadie recommended a place to buy great hair but still put in some of the crappy extensions just to make me happy for pictures on my birthday. I will be able to take these out with ease after looking fantastic on my big day. With all her help we finished around 1000 pm. I just want to say that sadie not only provided an excellent service and i love the out come of my hair but this talented woman was the best company ive had in a long time. An honest lady with good intentions that looks out for the clients best interest.

Sadi gave me the best medium length cut I have had in years. It was a wash and wear style and grew out beautifully too. The mark of a master stylist. Went back again yesterday to try a short hair style - something I would never ask from a mediocre stylist. Again, Sadi delivered. Total joke, booked weeks in advance and desperate by the time the day came. Appointment confirmed twice, once by text and again by phone, was even asked to arrive early becuase the mall closes at 6pm. I arrive a full 30 min early, and they are confused, no appointment no chair available. Seems someone else with a similar name is already mid process in the chair!!! Now they couldnt take me, at all. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Sadie is a very nice lady but I couldn’t care less about how nice my hairdresser is if they’re going to completely botch my hair. I asked Sadie to give me some layers to give me some volume. We agreed on long layers. As you can see the layers are uneven and the front of my hair is drastically shorter than the rest. These are not long layers by any means. This is honestly the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life. I’m completely heartbroken. The only way I can wear my hair is up now. Not sure if Sadie can cut hair or if she was too busy talking to her friend the majority of the haircut to realize what she was doing to my hair. It’s devastating because I spent years growing my hair and hundreds of dollars getting and maintaining my perm. I’m new to town so I took a chance of Sadie and I regret it deeply. Please me weary of the reviews... I’m assuming many have been left by family and friends. Maybe Sadie can trim hair well or cut straight hair but please for the love of God do not go here if you want layers. I told her it looked short and she tried to convince me I looked beautiful. The damage was done so I left without creating a scene...
