Seems like there's lots of quality hair stylist here, that being said I'm yet to get one of them in the year that I've been going there. Lack of ability to even write down an appointment and I highly recommend never going to Miguel. Very very bad hairdresser that should spend time going to school before cutting peoples hair, I asked for a business cut and it looks between a mullet and a bowl cut and just had to go pay $40 to get my hair re cut by somebody that is a professional. Good quality stylist are there but my opinion a very unprofessional operation

Very bad location for car owners. If you want to park at the back, you may spend too much time to know which door to use and the management didn't bother and put a sign. When told, the employees just shrugged it off.

Great fade. You can tell there's a high degree of professionalism just by watching the guys in action. They take their time and get it right. My first time in there I felt somewhat out of place (old white guy in Metrotown barbershop) - after a bit of a wait they made me feel at home, turned my barbershop chair to watch the Raptors game, gave me solid advice on what to do with my ridiculous balding head. Am actually planning part of my next work trip out there to get a re-do. P.S. good prices too.

Please Note, I did not actually get my hair cut/shaved. This review is based on the booking process which led me to cancel. Booked 4 days in Advanced for an appointment at 5:30. Evening of the appointment it was moved to 5pm without prior consultation/heads up other than "Your appointment has been moved". Had to cancel my appointment, but was disapointed no communication from MalaFades or my barber to see if it was possible to come in earlier. I would have been more accomdating if a heads up was given through e-mail/text to align with the time change, but there wasn't one. Based on reviews I imagine they're actually good, but would need to default to a 1 since I never got my haircut from them.

Got a cut and beard trim from Russell, first time there and I will definitely be going back. The cut and trim itself was very well done, and fair price for what you get. Russell was very friendly, professional, and fun to chat with too. The place itself is very COVID-safe, everyone is wearing masks and they wipe down the seats after every time they've been used. The haircuts they gave looked great but its a waste of time if you don’t have an appointment. I put 45 minutes on my meter when I arrived and got a notification on my phone that it was about to expire and left. I wouldn’t be so put out about it but one of the hairdressers finished with a client and went into the back for 15 minutes on his phone until another appointment showed up and he was grabbed by a coworker. Could’ve told me it was going to be such a long wait as I didn’t want to spend my Saturday waiting for a trim. Went to another barber shop.

Not gonna lie, I was a bit apprehensive coming to cut my hair here; I'm African and after one too many sub-par haircuts, I've realized that it takes specialists to cut my kind of hair. I carried my apprehension right up until I sat in the chair. It wasn't until Rustin started asking me questions about what I wanted that I started to ease up. He was super professional and friendly. At the end of the haircut, happiness had taken the place of dread. I definitely will be coming back here for my barbing needs.

I went four times for just hair cut each time prices are different it was 22,25,24 30. I leave review cuz today barber asked me $30 and tips and I felt its ridiculous and I look at homepage 20 is regular price if u get hair cut by young guy he cuts so bad then wants $30 and tips he has no skill but wants more money than others they also dont give you change back saying they only accept cash but dont have coin to give change back I'm not sure owner knows rip off or just doesnt care owner should teach staffs about money first there is no price sign at store so customer has to believe what barber say but they are ripping off customer how nice other than price it was fine. if you want to get hair cut here watch out for rip off!!

I consistently go to the Mala Fade location at Kingsway. Russel De Vera is very professional, skilled, and a great conversation, every time I sit in his chair. He is always willing to help me understand what exactly he is doing while cutting my hair and every cut is better than the last. The rest of the guys that work there are also very professional and talented. They play great music and the vibe of the shop is welcoming for all. They've done a great job reopening amidst Covid and have taken all the safety precautions while also maintaining great service and quality. I recommend Mala Fade to anyone looking for a crispy fade or a haircut of any other kind. In particular, Russel is 11/10 and you should look no further for your barbering needs!

Entering this barbershop felt very welcoming, as soon as I walked in, the barbers asked me how I was doing. very polite guys and great atmosphere. I got my haircut done by Rustin. At first I was a little hesitant about getting my beard done along with the fade haircut. Reason being (no judgement at all) the barber had nothing too much of a beard, and I don’t think I’m the only person who would second guess about getting their beard done by someone with no beard. but I was wrong. Rustin was able to answer all the questions I threw at him including tips on how I can maintain my beard and what ways I am able to style my hair etc. He knew exactly what to do and showed much experience. Do not be fooled!!! Overall great services from these guys. Great prices and will definitely be back!
