My 5 year old son was so stoked to sit in a kids seat while getting his hair cut. The cut itself was reasonably priced $15. The gentleman was SO knowledgeable! I loved having his professional input on what style to make my son’s hair. He was so sweet to suggest styling his hair for once & my son felt SO excited, he walked past shop fronts & windows admiring his new look. -1 star: we waited for about 20 mins (even with an appointment) but he acknowledged us & apologized numerous times. He’s so genuine & sweet. The shop is also quite cluttered with stuff! Felt a little claustrophobic in there.

Freddy is highly skilled and creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. His rates are affordable and if you've got a music request he's happy to change what's playing to suit you. He and I have similar tastes, but he always checks in anyway. I found him randomly at a larger salon a decade ago, and he's been "my hair guy" since. Highly recommended. I don't get any "hair tattooing" done, but I've seen his work and it's stellar. The only negative is he's so skilled he's sometimes out of town teaching others!

Updated: When I first tried Freddy's salon, I hadn't had a haircut in over 10 years. My hair was very long; I was a bit insecure, didn't really know what I wanted. I found his little salon through Google and was impressed by the great reviews — so I gave it a try. He didn't disappoint! Freddy listened patiently to my concerns, gave me some ideas & encouraged me to try something new. I left feeling really good with my decision; my hair looked and felt great. I've been back only once since, but I can't imagine going anywhere else now. Freddy's Hair is a very small place, but it's cozy and personal and has a very different vibe than your average salon where you're just a random, anonymous customer. Freddy is also a really nice guy, and you get a very personal and professional service, and consistently so. My wife has had a similar experience — and we'll be back!

Even though it was the first time meeting we chatted like old friends and he taught me so much I didn't know about my hair. Loved my experience at Freddy's! He can be quite busy but got me an appointment for a haircut the day after. He really listens attentively to what you want while giving intelligent suggestions. He obviously knows what he's doing and is quite a pro with the scissors! While arriving he offered me a beverage of my choice (tea, coffee, wine...!). I decided on the tea and it was very pleasant. While I was under the dryer he was working on another customer but checked regularly if I needed anything and if I was okay. Overall, washing my hair (with the awesome head massage), cutting and styling them with a round brush cost $55, tip included (and I have very long and thick hair). I would recommend this hair salon to anyone who wants a superb cut and over the top service!

Having a hair dresser in the family who has moved away, I was left scouring the Lower Mainland for a decent cut. I'm a guy but need a nice, professional cut for work, not just an all over shave. I have been everywhere, inexpensive and top dollar salons. While I had some good cuts, at top dollar shops, I was always left feeling somewhat disappointed, either it was way too much money or just a bad cut (okay I've been spoiled with years of free, top quality cuts). While digging through the web one day, looking somewhere new and well reviewed, I stumbled on Freddy's Hair. Freddy's is a tiny shop right on Kingsway, beside an adult shop, at first I thought, "Oh no, here we go again!" I was horribly wrong with my initial impression though, this guy is a true master at his craft, Freddy has a small shop but it is well equipped, HE KNOWS HAIR. Freddy has traveled the world, held seminars and workshops. What first seemed like a hokey little shop, quickly turned into a stylish boutique and I was thrilled with the focus he has on ME and MY styling needs. He doesn't just nod his head and then do what he wants to anyway, he discusses your ideas with you, adds some of his own and is an absolute professional in every sense of the word. If you are picky about your hair, need high fashion styling or carefully crafted razor cuts (his examples are all over the shop) Freddy's hair is an absolute must. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the care and quality of his work. I can't say enough to really put Freddy's Hair into perspective for people, it's just a MUST try. You will never pay top dollar for a style and leave feeling ripped off, he's the real deal! A paradigm for hair stylists everywhere. Oh, and he's a super cool guy to chat with while he works.

I wish I could give it 0. I don’t recommend anyone to come to this place for highlights and balayage. I showed him a picture of the colour that I wanted, but I don’t know what he did. It wasn’t even close to that pic. At the beginning I asked him if I can get the colour that I want he said yes. He got me rainbow colours. I didn’t notice when I was in the salon because he didn’t blow dry my hair. When I got home, I saw 6 different colours on my hair, brown, grey, beige, blue, green, reddish colours. I could not go out with that hair. I dyed it right away. I know that my hair was already dry, but he damaged it by breaching and toning multiple times. Very unprofessional. The first picture is the colour that I wanted and the 2nd is the picture he got me. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE

As every good female customer I walked into Freddy's salon with pictures of my 3 favorite celebrities and their perfect hair that of course I wanted too. I've been going to Freddy for about 5 years and I only wish I had gone to him sooner. My previous hairdresser butchered my hair and gave me strange, dated looks. Thanks to Freddy, I get lots of compliments on my hair. He's the one hairdresser where I have no problem giving him free reign to do what he thinks is best for my hair. I went into this salon with hair that I have been frustrated with for years. Freddy didn't just give me a haircut (which I am VERY happy with!) but he gave me a lot of really helpful advice about how to take care of my very thick, frizz-prone hair. It's been days since my appointment and I am applying the advice he gave me and my hair is already looking so much better. The salon is very cozy & it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Freddy is very nice and makes you comfortable. I would definitely recommend this salon to ANYONE looking for a good experience, a great haircut, and some very useful hair care wisdom. I found Freddy online. He had great reviews and did a last minute haircut for me and my daughter. Freddy was so quick to respond and was able to take us in last minute. When we got there, he gave us great advise as to how to take care of our hair, shared with us his recommendations of the hair styles which would suit us better. He was honest, took the time to ask questions before he started. He was genuinely caring for his customers and know how important a great haircut is to make sure clients walk out feeling more confident about themselves.
