If you’re looking for the best haircut you’ve ever had, Five Star Fades Barbershop is the only barbershop you should be going to. I started getting my haircut by Danijel (owner of the shop) 11 years ago, when he was starting out as a barber at another shop. I can honestly say that during the entire 11 years I’ve been going to him, I have never had a bad haircut; not one. Danijel is unmatched when it comes to quality, precision, attention to detail, and high-standards. He will always make sure you leave his shop looking your best. This was confirmed for me when I needed an emergency haircut for an audition, and Danijel was out of the country. I went to another popular barbershop chain, and the difference in quality was obvious. For the first time in 11 years I was disappointed with a haircut, and that’s because I settled for less than the best. Danijel always goes the extra mile and catches the mistakes (and stray hairs) that most barbers miss. In my opinion, he truly has no equal. Now that he has his own shop, he holds all of his barbers to his standard of excellence. I’d be willing to bet good money that you’d be unable to find a single patron of Five Star Fades that has had a bad experience or haircut. Here is to another decade of the best haircuts I’ve ever had.

I'm rather impressed with Five Star Fades Barbershop. I visited them early in the afternoon on the 21st and they were able to squeeze me in that same evening. Travis was exceptional. Quality of cut was perfect! No one has been able to get my beard trimmed and aligned as well as Travis. He was great to chat with and the salon is gorgeous inside. This spot just opened up in my neighborhood so I decided to check it out for my next cut. I have to say the service is great. All the barbers in there seem to really know their stuff and I was very pleased with my cut. The shop is super clean and is overall a great option for your next haircut. My only advice would be to call ahead and make an appointment. They do take drop ins but I definitely suggest calling ahead. These guys really value their clients and take time to perfect the cut so you leave satisfied rather than just churning out person after person.

It is unfair to say they are not good. If you like short hair cut style with nice fades, go for it. They have the skills and the tools, and the place is nice, tidy and well designed. In my case which I wanted more delicate touch with my longer hair, I was disappointed! After I left I was so stressed that I didn’t even wanted to argue so I left in peace since they were really nice people, so no hard feelings ????. One thing bothered me was that when I asked, let’s cut it half-inch and then see if we can go shorter, my request was declined and the respond was “I don’t have time to do two haircuts.” While that might sound reasonable, it doesn’t work like that, and I know that because I’ve had haircuts around the world and this was the first time I’ve heard such response. I hope they understand that and avoid it. Overall, nice place to get haircut if your style matches their skills.

First time at this shop, overall the place is clean, the staff is friendly and the location is great, however the service fell short to me for the below reasons based on my experience with the barber Nico: - The whole time I was facing the wall (no mirror) and was not able to see the progress to give feedback to the barber - The barber wouldn't move around to position himself to reach different angles of my head, he would spin the chair (not joking, 1/2 or 1/3-spins) that at the end it was getting ridiculous, for a moment I thought we would do a full spin like a merry-go-round - Nico's attention to detail is appreciated, but a full hour for a regular haircut with no fancy fading or lines seemed excessive to me, roughly half hour passed and the top of my hair hadn't been touched yet - Whenever Nico wanted me to turn or tilt my head he would use almost wrestling strength to make me turn my head away, sometimes applying poking pressure with his two fingers. More gentle Nico, yes, we're guys but we're not cattle - At the end, when paying, I found it disrespectful of my time that Nico would be on his phone texting while I was waiting for him to hand me the ATM machine until I had to call him out on it For those reasons...I'm out

I remember a year ago I wanted to find a new barber. Luckily there was a spanking new barbershop just around the corner from my place. At the time I didn’t know they didn’t take any walk in clients, I went in and they were very nice, friendly and put me in line for the next cut. That’s when I met Travis, he’s very nice, chill, professional and I can tell he loves his job. Ever since I always find him when I need a trim. Not saying the rest of the crew aren’t as good but I just go to travis cause I can trust him. And if your around Brentwood area and you need a fresh fade. Good for short haircuts I guess. The 2 barbers I went to here gave me a short cut when asked to just make my 4 inch hair look more tidy (i.e. nice outlines while maintaining the length) and showing some pics as examples. Got the same “default” short haircut both times while kept facing away from the mirror until they’re done.

However, they first ask what the customer would like as a haircut. They are very respectful and treat you well. Barbers and clients converse with one another which is great! Got my haircut here with Travis after not getting a proper haircut due to lockdown. Travis is an awesome barber that took his time and paid a lot of attention to detail. He gave me a really nice fade. Had multiple compliments already. Store was very clean and nicely lit as well.

I arrived in Vancouver from Australia, roughly 7 months ago. I can't say how hard its been to find a decent and professional barbershop (especially with my complex African/Spanish hair!). I stumbled upon Five Star Fades on Google and thought I'd put their name to the test. I walked in without an appointment and was immediately greeted by a Michael Nico. He took the time to listen to my requests and we had a great conversation. What sealed the deal for me, was how he and another barber discussed better options for my hair. I live in the neighborhood and decided to give this shop a try. The owner and his 2 barbers were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is authentic and very unique. I had the best haircut and shave that I have ever had at this shop. He took his time on my haircut and you could tell they don't rush their clients. I would 1000% recommend this shop to anyone! At Five star fades they really go the extra mile when cutting your hair. I’m personally really picky about my hair and have had no less then 30 different people cut my hair but once you go to five star fades and get a cut from one of there 3 amazing barbers, you will never need to find another. They pay great attention to detail and are very professional. The shop itself is very new and modern looking with comfortable chairs and always kept clean. I personally see Daniel when I go and usually takes about 45 min for full cut beard trim and a shave which is totally reasonable and you never feel rushed out the chair. So what ever hair style you need these guys got you covered!

This place definitely lives up their name!! If I could give them 10 out of 5 stars I would. I have tried a lot of places over the past decade and a half, as I am very picky, and have never had such a relaxing and comfortable experience. I got my hair done by Travis Pham and was very happy with how detail oriented he was. The appointment started with a hot towel scalp massage, then moving into the fade, he took his time and made sure everything was symmetrical and flowed with the shape of my head. Another barber even came and they discussed what would be best for my hair cut with the shape of my head. I appreciated this. After the fade and cut was done he moved to my beard, shaping it to perfection. Then again with the hot towel before getting out his straight razor for the perfect line. I really enjoy barbers that use straight razors. It's an old art that sadly cant be found at every barber. I appreciate the time and detail Travis put into my hair. Spending 1 hour on my hair and beard, it turned out better than any cut i have ever had. It was so relaxing i nearly fell asleep a few times. This place is hands down the best barber experience i have ever had. Will be going back regularly and recommending it to everyone. Thanks for the amazing experience guys. Was having not the greatest day, but walked out of there feeling confident and happy! Oh and as for the decor and ambiance of the place. Its is a gorgeous shop. Extremely clean and inviting. 10/5 stars all day. Must check out for anyone that wants a great and relaxing experience.
