My experience at first choice was great. The staff was kind and fun, and the wait for a walk-in was only about 10 minutes. It was priced reasonably as well, and they ensured the comfort of the customer. The hair stylist I had on my visit was Jordan, and he was amazing. He was energetic and fun, and still did an amazing job with my cut. He also gave me hair care tips while I was there, and made sure I had what I needed to keep my cut stylish for weeks to come. Sure, I didn't buy the hair care stuff there, as it was expensive, but the thought was there, and it was very kind! I would definitely recommend going to this First Choice for a cut. It is by far the best hair cutting experience I have ever had, and easily surpasses other First Choice', other higher end cutters, or even private stylist's!

3 out of 5 ladies are really good at cutting hair. Two of the ladies can’t seem to square my sons hair straight across the back evenly or even up his side burns. I know there is a first choice guarantee but come on it is just awkward to ask the same lady, “could you please even up the back and the sides”. To which she replies “he keeps moving”. I want to tell her, well your colleagues can cut a straight and tidy haircut why can’t you. But on the plus this place is fast and it is a convenient location. It is also clean and free wifi!

I like the fact you can drop in any time & have a cut or style. Been in 3 times now and have had great service. My stylist today really gave me great advice as well as a super cut! (I have neglected my hair lol) Only complaint is rude young hairstylist that refuses to serve me after my initial visit. No explanation he just disappears to the back and someone else comes out and cuts for me. "He doesnt like to work if he doesnt have to". I was told. Thats fine, nbd, its just the arrogance of his actions that prevents me from rating 5 stars. Customer service is paramount if you want returning patrons. Silent treatment sux.

Ive been here a few times now and usually content with my hair. The last 2 times ive went i got the same girl and i wont go here again. The first time she was brushing my hair and caused me so much pain i had tears in my eyes. I have no problem brushing my hair pain free at home. She yanked through it and i went home with split hairs everywhere, on top of that she did not cut it the way i asked. This last time she was washing my hair and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful with her fingers pushing very hard into my head, she she brushed it the same way again. I asked her to stop and brush it nicely and she did, but it took me asking her and i went through alot of pain. She also did not style my hair ehich after a color typically you get a dry and style. She rushed through everything, and caused me alot of pain. Will no lonher be going to to this first choice.

Make sure you're telling the staff *exactly* how you want it cut, otherwise they're probably going to mess it up. Every haircut I had here turned out great with no complaints, but I had to make sure they were doing what I wanted done. Prices are okay, but you could get the same professionalism done by a friend or family member (If you're only getting a few inches off). But hey, at least I get a free lollipop at the end.

Went in today to get a couple inches off my long hair and some layers put in. The back of my hair is literally cut into shelves I can see the exact layers and the ones that frame my face are longer than the ones on the side. Not very happy at all with the style and cut and my beautiful length is going to be ruined trying to fix this mess that I can't even run my fingers through because the layers tangle and knot. Went there 4.5 months ago and the lady did an amazing job today the lady did a bad job. Guess I'll pay the extra money and have it fixed somewhere else.

I had one of the worst haircuts of my life today at this location. I asked for razor 1 on the side with a fade into finger length on top. Keep in mind this style is relatively common. I have been getting this cut for years and have never had a problem until today. The hair dresser decided to razor the hair that frames my face completely off at the side leaving my hairline non-existant and crooked. She didn't follow the hairline at all. The fade is completely crooked from side to side. Bangs were left extremely long and electric razor was used on top of my head, not finger length. I asked for her to correct the completely uneven cut on the left side of the fade which she did such that when you look head on its OK but when you turn / look at the side it's a total botch job. Left side is shorter and higher than the right side. I won't be returning and can't be bothered with a service guarantee when the person cutting the hair can't cut it to begin with. I'll have someone else fix it and take my business elsewhere.

My 79 year old husband went in for a haircut yesterday Dec 19th. I went next door to the Dollar Store. I was not very long and he was coming out saying he was done. I checked the back of his head and there was a clump of hair at the right side of his neck. He said that he was 2 minutes in the chair. She used the clipper and didn't check what it looked at. So we went back in and she fumbled to try and fix it and I kept trying to show her his neckline.FinallyI walked away and another hairdresser tried to explain to her how to fix the problem. The other person took the clippers from her and did the job. I was called "the boss" over to inspect the job. I resent being taken advantage of an old person and being referred to as the boss when I was only trying to get a haircut done properly. Our treatment was a prime example of ageism. Hair dressers at your shop should be certified and somewhat competent.

I went to this location today to have a consultation to dye my washed out red hair to blonde or light brown. And the "colour consultant" told me theres no way I can go blonde. I have to go darker. Ive had red hair for years, and always gone back to blonde and never had an issue. She preformed a strip test to see if bleach would take the colour out- with no results. I can do this at home no problem and have had it done at salons multiple times. Proceeded to go straight to the first choice on king george road- spoke to a lovely women who said she can do it and gave me tips to help pull the colour before my appointment in a few days. I will never go back to the first choice in the commons. They clearly dont know what they are doing.

I went for a hair cut.... I had long hair and wanted to go medium with layers.....the girl was fully new. Seems like in training... didn't know the difference of medium and short length and had no idea how to add short layers. ... I would like to suggest if ur in training don't train on customers hair but buy a wig to practice....it takes alot to grow ur hair to a length before you can style it....I would like the owner to give me a call....n I would like to atleast get my layers fixed....very disapointed... came in at 2:30pm Sunday..apt was booked under Kiran brar

I had my hair cut at the South Market Plaza Location today and realized later that the "stylist" massacred my hair! It's not only uneven but the area which should be buzzed is patchy. I would not recommend this place
