I understand that places get busy but you have a booking system and reservations for a reason. Showed up for my reservation and was told to come back in about an hour because there are 4 people ahead of me. Then came back almost an hour later and was told that there are 2 people in front of me still and they'll call me when they are ready for me. Another 30+ min go by and I get a call, I say I can be there in 5-10 min and was told that if I'm there within 5 they'll get me in but otherwise I'd have to wait again.... Don't use a reservation system if you don't know how to. I overheard while there that this happens often; if that is the case it's an easy fix, stop overbooking so many people that you can't possibly keep up... Being one person behind (10-15 min) is understandable but almost 2 hours is unacceptable. Edit After seeing response from the owner: I was annoyed but VERY patient and understanding the whole time until the call (more than 1.5 hours later) told me if I'm not there in 5, I'd be waiting again which is ridiculous. I just noticed your bookings are every 10 minutes, it's not even possible to maintain that pace, fix your booking system to be more realistic, it's just greedy and shows a lack of respect to customers who try to plan their days with reservations.

I recently returned to get a hair cut, and although I am happy with the service, I was very surprised at the additional costs for the haircut. The last time I visited was in February of 2020, then again in October of 2020. I was told the cost increased $10 per cut due to extra cleaning measures. I did a little math: at $10 per cut, 6 chairs, 6 cuts per chair per day, 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year looks a little like this: 6 x 6 x 10 = $360 per day for extra cleaning x 6 days a week = $2,160 per week x 52 weeks a year = $112,320 per year in additional cleaning fees. Let's assume I've over estimated by 50%...that still means over $52K per year in additional cleaning services. Would Premier Ford think there was some price gouging going on here? Sorry, however, I will not be returning based on the price increase.

Anyone saying they had others come in after them and got serviced before are incorrect. You can book into the barber for a specific time and so if you are a walk-in of course people will get served before you otherwise each and every time the staff will ask who is next and so it's up to you to speak up. I hate bad reviews against businesses that simply do not deserve it, this place is the first place i've been to since moving to Canada for a haircut and it will be the last place I have one whilst I am living in Barrie. KCCO!

I took my son there for his first cut...my son cried and hated every second of it...but the barber was patient and had a good sense of humour about it...the cut was great!

I use to go here often. I noticed during my last visit the price increased to over $35.00 for a mens cut. I'll be honest, the quality of the cut is not great. On two separate occasions I had to come back after I got home and noticed my hair was uneven and looked amatuer.

I went to go to a barber this place is a salon full of women. The lady who cut my hair seemed nervous. the cut looked not well done at all, after and I paid over 50$ for the hair cut and beard trim. Now that my hair has got to grow in for a month or so it is TOTALLY MESSED UP!. It wont style properly, their is chunks of hair on the side of my hair where the part line it making it look terrible. i AM NOT PLEASED AT ALL. when you're going to say this is a barber shop. the people inside better be skilled barbers, not salon stylists.

Should be called Calro's Butcher Shop... TL;DR - don't go here if you have curly hair I got the worst haircut of my life here a couple months ago. (Worse than when my mom cut my hair as a kid!) I regret not going back and demanding a refund. I was too shy and too in shock, and got it fixed 5 days later. I was trying to grow my hair a little longer for winter and needed a trim to fix the shape. My normal hair dresser was away so I went to Calro's because of the excellent Google reviews. It was an older Italian man (but I don't think it was Carlo) who cut my hair. Admittedly, I didn't explain very well what I wanted but he didn't have the typical discussion every other hair dresser has had with me at the beginning of a haircut. He began wildly cutting spots all over my head. It felt kind of like a head massage. I have really curly hair. He cut random locks (read chunks), of random lengths, from all over my head. In one small spot he cut my hair down to only and inch. Overall he cut about half my hair and left the rest ~3.5-4 inches. He took the chunks evenly spaced so it didn't look terrible right off the bat, just thinned out. The curls hid the massacre that lay beneath. The haircut took less than 10 minutes. I thought the cut had hardly begun when he stopped and swept the hair off my neck. I was surprised the cut was already over; I thought he must be stopping to ask a question. The shop was packed and he clearly just wanted to rush me out and take another customer. He'd arranged the curls so it didn't look terrible, so I paid and left. When I got home I ran my fingers through my hair and couldn't believe what I felt. I took a shower and let my hair dry and curl naturally. It looked rediculous! I had it fixed at A Man's Zone in the south end. They did a great job btw! I ended up having to buzz/cut it really short because of one spot Carlo's guy cut into the back of my head. I had gone into this whole experience wanting to grow my hair out! I lost months of growth. I told the other barber he was fixing a terrible hair cut. Because I'd hidden the damage to the best of my abilities before going out in public, he didn't realise just how bad it was until he ran his hands through my hair. The look on his face was priceless. I honestly can't believe this happened to me! It's rediculously irresponsible for a barber to start cutting someone's hair without knowing what the person wanted. It's even more disgusting to think someone would disrespect me so much as to butcher my hair and charge me for it!

Last week some new girl cut my bf's hair. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! He's been going there for years to see Carlos. Carlos is hardly ever there so the last two times had to have someone else do it. The last time was bad but this girl just did a horrendous job. Some parts cut way too short and on the other side too long. It's a simple haircut. She should be fired. He won't be back. No way in hell.

Not being from the area, but in desperate need of a haircut, I found Carlos Barber Shop online, and after reading a few reviews felt comfortable with giving them a shot. Was immediately greeted when I walked in and was told the wait shouldn't be too long. I ended up getting the lady (smokin' hot cougar), 1st chair on the left and have to admit I was sceptical. Turns out not only she's hot, but she's also an incredible barber with an equally incredible personality. As most people, I like going to my regular barber, however will certainly keep Carlos Barber Shop in mind for times I'm not able to get to my regular spot down south.

My 16 year old son went into Carlos by himself before work and got a buzz cut November 19/21. The person who buzzed his head had the nerve to charge him $40.00. I am appalled! First of all he is a student and should be charged less and secondly it was a BUZZ cut!!! He certainly will never be going there again and will invest his next earned $40 on his own clippers. So ashamed that an establishment could even charge this for something that takes no skill.

This place is great.. personally, I'm bald.. but I've been taking our little guy there for a couple years now.. The folks in there are all really friendly, and always remember us. We see Dominic when we're there and he is great with kids.. really patient and comforting for them.. our boy won't let anyone else cut his hair now... Dominic was on vacation this summer and rather than pick a new barber, he had me shave his head instead.. that's loyalty.. Ha.. All kidding aside, you can't go wrong with this place... Barber shops over salons all day long..

Ruined my hair, did not even try to comb hair again, did not even try to blow hair off and that's it. I had to go to another barber to have my hair (what was left of) fixed. So, there's no complaints with the actual haircut. Linda did a great job. BUT...and correct me if I'm wrong, the last time I was in here, which was pre-covid, the total (with tip) was $25. This time around, it was $35 before tip...and I swear, it was a haircut only. I dunno Carlos, I'm gonna look long and hard at the next 40 bucks before I spend it all on a haircut.

I've been coming here for a while now. The cut is okay, But, this time I have booked over a week ago for an appointment because places have been closed for so long I desperately need a cut. I Was made to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time without much care as to the fact that I have a very busy schedule and booked the time I did ahead of time for a reason. I was unable to keep waiting and had to leave because I had time commitments to stick to, I know, foreign idea for you guys. Now barbershops and hair dressers are PACKED due to just opening and I have to wait another 2 weeks before being able to get my cut somewhere else now due to this place not valuing appointment times or customers busy schedules. This is unacceptable to me and as a result I will not be returning.
