I wanted to try a different place for a change, for fun. I googled a little bit and found this place. Reading the reviews, people mentioned Dino. I called and made an appointment with him. I have to say that after he finished with me, I got one of the best hair cuts and beard trim I ever had. Dino is very meticulous and attentive to details. You can clearly see his devotion and love for his craft by the way he works. Furthermore, he seems like a good soul and down to earth. I will go again! :)

Closed my eyes, told Dino to make me pretty, went out to the market that night, left with 3 divine ladies, and woke up to breakfast in bed... Exhilerating! Go balls out, it’s only hair lads!

Just had my hair cut at Elite Barber with Kathleen. Can't say enough excellent about the experience. It's a given that she is highly skilled with scissors -- I chose the scissor-only-cut -- and a true professional, but she also combines that with a lot of other traits and skills that you definitely don't see in all barbershops. I like that she listened to what I wanted and wasn't defensive about suggestions. What I most appreciated is that I have longish hair which I am trying to keep longish -- and I came out of the place with the cut looking nicely cleaned up, but more or less the same as it did when I went in (which I mean in a good way). Combine that with a really great and down-to-earth personality, and this place with Kathleen kind of has it all. BTW the decor in the place is nice, too. Clean, nice grey floors, black chairs. And the manager (or other cutter) or first greeted me when I arrived was friendly as well. I'll be going there until I no longer have hair :-)

Booked an appointment with these people online, it got confirmation email saying my appointment was booked. Got a text the day before my appointment reassuring me that my appointment was indeed booked and I would get a cut from Fata. Go there and its closed. Emailed them about it and there response was basically that its my fault, they sent a email saying they cancelled (which I never got) and blamed me because obviously things aren't open due to covid. Well fair I understand they are closed due to covid but with things constantly opening and closing it is hard to know whats opened and not. I assumed since they booked my appointment AND sent me a text the day before that they where open, my bad.. Just an edit to respond. They claim in the comment below I was well informed from the start, and they had communicated qith me that my appointment was canceled. Um no.. I got confirmation emails and a text the day before. The only communication from them that I got was after the I had messaged them to tell them about what happened, which resulted in emails from them saying they are obviously closed due to covid and they sent me an email explaining that. Also yes "I feel so privileged to complain" true I work nights and have a busy schedule, and went out of my way to go to this appointment Because THEY sent me a text the day before saying I had an appointment booked with Fata. To me that seemed like a clear indicator they where open. I agree that lockdown must suck for small business owners but you want to use that fact to take away all responsibility for booking me into an appointment and wasting my day? Like "oh we wasted your time? How privileged of you to complain about that" "We had sent you an email stating that we are still under provincial lockdown, and as the rest of the communication that has happened between us indicates that you have received and read, like the rest of the communication that we had from the very beginning" what he said there is what baffles me the most. Because in NO part of our conversation did I indicate that I had read or received their email to cancel? To say our conversation indicated in any way I read or received their apparent cancelation is a flat out lie. AND I got another email the day before my appointment (the same day I got a text) that said I DID have an appointment the next day Also I only posted a review here because trying to message them about it just led to a "well we told you" (no I was told the opposite) and stating that I should have known because lockdown. Sorry for not being 100% sure what is and isn't closed right now..

This is a solid choice for a barber shop. The price is reasonable and they do a good job. They have been looking after my - receding :-( - hair for about a year and they always do a good job. I get my hair buzzed short, but the guys do a great job with more involved styles. All of the staff are friendly. This is a good choice for a guys hair cut.

Had my haircut by a woman in there (I'm unsure of her name but she was blonde) and she was absolutely brilliant. I usually hate going to the hairdressers and find it difficult to explain what I want. She listened, looked at pictures and actually discussed what she was going to do and kept discussing it throughout. It was a nice change from simply being given a haircut the barber wants to give. It wasn't by any means the quickest haircut I've ever had but it was absolutely worth spending more time in there for. Though some of the other barbers seemed to be quicker if that's what you want. Probably the best haircut I've had before and I'm hard to please, very lovely people working there and I will definitely be going again!

I'm from Vancouver and currently staying in Ottawa for the next while. I am very particular with my haircuts, and went so far as researching the numerous salons and barbershops in town before stepping into the doors of this establishment. I like my hair super short ( number zero - no guard high, no fade, high and tight....that my friend is meant for only the skilled barber with a steady hand). Coming from Vancouver where a haircut can run $40-$60 depending on the "upper salons". I'm a guy, and moreover, my haircut isn't too complicated that I require a "stylist". My barber in Vancouver is the only one is can trust to pull it off the way I like it. It seems simple, high and tight, but believe me, i've had "stylists" and "barbers" butcher my hair and leave small, blotching spots around my head. It's easy to put on a guard and run the trimmer over someones head. On the other hand, it's intimidating to go super close without a guard...and have little room for error. I waited for Dino finish up and from what I saw with his current client, he took his time and demonstrated attention to detail. One thing came to my mind...perfectionist. I sat down and told him what I wanted as mentioned above. He looked at me and said, "you sure no guard? So...zero?" I confirmed and he replied, "done." In 20 minutes he pulled off the best haircut i've ever had....no word of a lie. It was PERFECT. $15.00...and to top it off, a hot towel treatment for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! Haha! This small, tucked away barbershop feels like the best kept secret in Ottawa. Hey Dino...you must open up a shop in Vancouver!!!

Booked a cut with Kathleen. Before she even started, I told her clearly that I wanted an undercut with a hard line, not a fade, and no blending. She said she could "absolutely" do that and then proceeded to give me a fade with aggressive blending. By the time I realized what she was doing, it was too late. When I mentioned that she hadn't done what I'd asked for, she inferred that she couldn't have done it the way I asked because my hair wasn't long enough. I'd been growing my hair out for a couple of months in preparation of this cut, and knew exactly what I wanted and what it would look like. Now I have to go see another barber to fix it, and lose a bunch of the length I'd grown to get back on track. I tried to shrug it off, but I'm absolutely livid. Try listening to your customers when they tell you what they want instead of assuming you know better.

Professional, clean and friendly. I have gone to this barbershop for a few years now. As a student they offer a discount which can be quite helpful as the prices are already reasonable. They take the time to hear you out and assist you with what you’re looking for. I have never had an issue with the shop and I’ve gotten a haircut from pretty much every barber. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an affordable and clean haircut.

When I moved to Ottawa, I struggled to find a barbershop that took the time to cut hair the right way, I never felt confident after my cuts, uneven edge and visible differences in length. That was until I found this place and the magic owner Dino, he takes the time to cut the hair just like you want it, and he takes pride in his work From full head shaved with a straight razor, (the mr.clean look), the best beard edging and trims, to long hair care (I got bored of looking like mr. clean). Dino is your guy! He charges a great price and has an assortment of product to make you look perfect! However he never pressures a sale, he simply uses the appropriate products for you to see and feel a sample and it’s up to you if you need it! My hair is ruff and always dry since growing it out and the products he recommended help it feel amazing Dino and his crew run a tight ship, and it’s been 6 years of me coming here exclusively Trust these guys with your hair! You will not regret it.

I've been going to this place for about year now and have been very happy with their work. I'm very picky about my haircut and can't say that I have been happy with many barbers in the past, but this place has been my all time favorite so far. The barbers take their time with the haircut and pay attention to what you want. At times we've spent 10 minutes or so discussing a cut, going over models and so on before starting to cut anything. I definitely recommend. Also you can't go wrong with their 29 day satisfaction guarantee!

Ottawa's best kept secret for hair cuts! I've been to a lot of barbers and stylists in this town. My friends and family always go out of their way to tell me how nice my hair cut is after visiting Elite Barber. The average visit time says 45 mins because the owner and his crew pay special attention to all of the details of the cuts they provide. True arists and its impressive to watch them work. Gents, you won't find a better barber in town and the price is right. Definitely worth checking out!

Finally a place that has quality cuts and very reasonable prices. My barber Ali was a surgeon with the clippers and scissors, precise and executed to perfection with alot of care to details. Prior to my haircut i showed him a picutre of what i wanted and literally his recreation of that picture was alot better. Highly recommend this place!

I've been to this place a couple of times and had a pretty good experience, but one bad one is enough to not go back. If I can't be sure I'm going to get a decent cut then I can't go back! The guy who cut my hair was obviously having a bad day and in a bad mood, totally understandable. But don't take it out on my head, step away or take a break. Using clippers firmly is fine, but this guy was extremely aggressive, and gave me a super lazy cut. Normally I get asked when they finish how things look, but the guy pretty much pushed me out of the chair immediately when he was done. I must have done something to piss him off, or he was just not in the mood to cut hair that day, but either way it was a super uncomfortable experience.
