My regular barber was out of town yesterday and I was in dire need of a haircut. I decided to google what was nearby and by fluke came across Royal Fades. I read up the reviews and decided to book an appointment. Knowing this was last minute I didn't think they'd be able to see me but Karl B. was able to fit me in for 4:45 pm. When I first walked in I was greeted by Matthew the owner. My first impressions was how friendly this place was. It was clean, professional and speakers bumpin' Hip Hop and R&B. As I sat down and waited for my turn, I did a quick scan of the place and and noticed a pool table in the back room, TV tuned to the Raptors v. Cavs game 4 replay and a PS3 sitting in front of me. They definitely try to make their customers feel comfortable and entertained. They probably have Free WiFi too, but I didn't check. Karl was friendly and made sure to ask me what I wanted and how I liked it cut. Customer satisfaction was certainly his focus. His attention to detail was uncanny and from what I saw from the other guys cutting other people's hair they all take time and pride in what they do.This ain't no in and out $10 Chinatown salon. Overall I had a great experience with Royal Fades and well definitely be coming back. Their prices are reasonable and have a variety other services. Anyone in the East end of Markham/Scarborough should definitely check these guys out.

Carlo Dizon is my main guy here and he never disappoints. This place is professional and I like the overall vibe. The barbers here talk to you and always try to have conversation which is great. They take time with your hair and you can sense they have a strong connection with each other. This location is also very kid friendly since the music played does not have offensive or harsh words. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh fade. Some barbers are cash only while others accept credit card, so keep some cash on you just in case. Not only did he capture exactly what I was hoping for, but also talked me through the whole process. The price was definitely worth the quality cut. I've been coming here for almost a year now and I don't plan to go anywhere else (despite my drive being 30 minutes without traffic to get here) First, the shop. Great atmosphere, you can tell everyone loves what they do and they got mad love for each other too. They got good music playing, have the basketball game on (if it's NBA time) or a movie. Throughout the year, I saw huge growth with them renovating and opening up the back area. The barber. I get my cuts from Karl and I'll continue to do so until he retires. He takes his time to make sure each cut is as clean as it can be. The only downside is he does too good a job and is usually booked for at least a week so if you want him to clean you up, book over a week in advance on their website. I can't speak for the others personally but sitting in the chair and seeing the people walk in and out, I can tell you the overall quality of cuts is top notch no matter who you get your cut from. You can't go wrong with any of them. 100% 5 star 10/10 recommended

I can say this since I've received haircuts from almost all the barbers. Since a lot of them are busy, you can rely on any of the barbers in the shop of you're just walking in. I normally receive a haircut from Matthew. All of them are friendly and are very accommodating. Scheduling is done in an organized manner via their website. The atmosphere in this place is unreal, they have a TV for those waiting, as well as a pool table to kill time with. This is my second time visiting and every time I've walked in all of the barbers in there greet you with props which really makes you feel like more than just a customer. My personal recommendation is Karl Bautista, this man is a true artist and takes his work very seriously. I work in a professional environment and both times Karl has given me a cut that gathers a lot of compliments and looks. Very great cut! Honestly was pretty expensive, but all barber shops are charging this much nowadays since COVID had them shut down for so long. I'm giving 2 stars, however, since the environment is definitely not for everyone. First of all, half the barbers weren't even wearing masks. Half the customers were not either. No rules, so people did whatever! You would expect barbers, of all people, who have been shut down for months, to take COVID seriously but it seems like they don't care at all. Secondly, some of the music they were playing was quite frankly pretty vulgar. I understand the majority of their crowd are young adults and teenagers, but a couple songs were absolutely filled with derogatory language - some is understandable, but this was next level. Honestly looks like a lot of great talent at this shop, they really need to work on their professionalism and environment.

A few weeks ago I was recommended this place by a friend so I decided to book an appointment for today (Feb 12) at 1PM. I went through their online appointment system got a confirmation of my appointment and it was all good. Day before the appointment I get a reminder email. All good so far. Come today the appointment day I go to their place and it's closed!! I tried calling their number which is forwarded to a voicemail service which isn't setup yet. I was not informed via email or called that they are closed on Sundays. Even their website which I check today says they are closed on Sundays so why are you letting people book appointments? As of today their website still let's you book for a Sunday. Terrible customer experience so far.
