Today, I arrived fifteen minutes ahead of schedule to make sure of getting service on time. I had an appointment with Stephany, and I was waiting for twenty minutes after my time. Hearing their laughing and not being treated with respect, I left their place and called the receptionist. Surprisingly, she didn’t care about my problem. She actually called it ‘normal’ despite the fact that they announced 30 minutes for haircuts according to their website. Finding 45 minutes along business hours seems hard enough, and people definitely don’t need somebody who wastes their time. Marketing is not necessarily about designing an online reservation system. Conversely, it’s all about customer-center approach which is their weakness.

Amazingly friendly staff that listen well to your every precise instruction. The appointment system is a God send when you only have a limited amount of time, and even if you arrive unannounced the wait time is usually minimal due to the large staff they got going on. The wait times are between 45 mins to 1 hr at nearly every time of day. In the last few years, the service has been trending downwards towards a more "quantity over quality" focus; feels very rushed. Service is inconsistent. Some of the girls want you out of the chair as fast as possible, others will actually bother to be friendly. Skill varies considerably as well. Be careful about asking for something complex from an untested barber. If you want to come here regularly, my suggestion is to find a girl with whom you have a good rapport with and that knows how to cut your hair properly and then book appointments with her exclusively.

I have an undercut and was looking for a barbershop downtown to visit on a frequent basis. I heard a lot of good things about this place and decided to try it out. This place has a great atmosphere and everyone is so friendly, the all women staff is wonderful. I visit every 2-3 weeks around noon and the wait time isn't that bad, maybe 15 mins at most. Kim does a fantastic job and is a blast to chat with ☺️. Wait times vary especially around closing but it's usually not long. It's in a great location and the price is reasonable. I definitely recommend this place ????

I couldn't disagree with Mark more. I have been to Andie's Barbershop on many occasions, always with a pleasant experience and a great cut. The girls are sociable and friendly, professional, and know their stuff- they specialize in men's hair and that is definitely a plus. Great atmosphere; perfect location for anyone working or studying downtown. The rates do not fluctuate between visits- prices are clearly posted and, at the time of my last visit, were $20 for a cut; $15 for students.

Usually a decent experience, and always affordable, but today I had a very unpleasant experience with a new stylist. She had two white-blond, shoulder-length pigtails and very deep cheek dimples. I cannot stress this enough: Avoid Her. She did not introduce herself, she was dismissive and border-line rude, and she nearly burned my scalp three times with the hair dryer at the end. I understand that she might have been having a bad day, but she chose to work in the service industry, and she has to realize that it is completely unprofessional to take that out on clients. I left thoroughly disappointed. The hair cut was ok, not the best or worst I've ever had, but her personal mannerisms left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will be considering other options in the future. She didn't even smile once!

I don't usually enjoy conversation while getting my haircut and she didn't try to make any, which I liked. I'm also very happy with my haircut, which is quite rare for me. The price is also quite reasonable at $20 for students. The only reason I put four stars is that they don't take credit card.

This place is really hit or miss. I echo the comments below that quality of cut is extremely variable, really depends on who you get. The past few times I tried to go there was a ridiculous number of people waiting but only 3 chairs going. I ended up leaving both times. The joy of a classic barbershop is to be able to get a quick cut without waiting forever or taking an appointment; if you end up waiting 45 min to an hour for a 10 min cut, might as well just book an appointment at a salon and schedule your schedule instead...

After 4 years of being a loyal customer, I'm done. Waiting times keep getting longer and longer, anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour and a half. It seems like there's never a good time to go there anymore, always packed. Nowadays everything feels rushed as the focus is more on volume rather than quality. Cannot remember when was the last time I got a haircut that I was actually happy with. Today for example, I tried to get there first thing in the morning. It was 9 o'clock, the place was not open and there were already 3 people waiting outside. Decided to come back around 5pm. Got there at 4:50 and after waiting for almost 50 minutes I finally got the terrible haircut that seems to be the new normal for me there. You ask for a gradual low fade, you get a straight buzz cut all the way to the top, to make sure your head looks as boxy as possible. You say just a little bit off the top and you get a military cut. It used to be a great place, not anymore.

Interesting little barbshop catering to a young male professional crowd as far as I can tell. The barbers are all exclusively female, and there is leather coaches, a T.V., and a coffee machine in the waiting area. There is also a number dispenser as this place can get pretty busy, but there are also a ton of barbers so wait times tend not to be terrible. Prices are fine as it is $25 per cut and every 10th cut is just $10. The quality of the hair cut is generally good but also heavily dependant on the stylist that you get.

Funny how my previous review was deleted, wonder how that happened. But don't worry, my experience was very memorable. Worst experience I've ever had at a barbershop, the haircut was average but dealing with the passive aggressive barber is enough to never want to come here again. Absolute garbage service, do yourself a favor, walk 2 blocks down St Catherine and go to the Section Barbershop instead.

I was looking for a place that would take women without issue and as well somewhere I would feel comfortable going- this is the spot! The barber was lovely and gave me tips on bleaching my hair as well as how to style my hair so that my awful roosters tail would stay down. My hair looks great, and the student discount was good. Put aside the nice & comfortable leather couches with interesting material to read, a tailor right next to you, coffee machine and friendly staff .. I was 100% satisfied with my haircut. That's coming from a picky client who's tried a lot of other places. Staff are friendly! Always chatty, yet quiet if they see you wanting to relax. I asked for a specific cut, they did it better than how I imagined it would be, elegant and simple. A job well done! As for the waiting time, the first come first served rule was respected and they were quick (time passed quickly while reading a funny book they have).

Never again. Tried this place 3 times. One cut was just ok and the last two were a disaster. I had a different person each time. In my experience these girls really do not know how to cut mens hair. They are very sloppy, they push you through at warp speed - last visit had to be less than 10 mins easily. There is apparently zero pride in their work here. And it's not exactly cheap. Whoever owns this place needs to spend more time in making sure their employees understand the concept of customer service and basic standards before all these 'positive' reviews go sour.

Hit or miss depending on the barber you get. One time you will get a perfect cut, other times it won't be what you ask for. Walk-ins are encouraged, which I find is the opposite of most barbers. If you want an appointment, it costs an extra $5. When you walk in, you take a number and barbers are assigned based on a first come first serve basis. The waiting time is consequently much shorter for walk-ins compared to any other barber shop I've been to. The quality of the haircut is normally great and the attention to detail is on point. The cuts do not feel rushed. The staff is both friendly and fun. I would recommend this place to people who are not picky about their hair. In addition, the 10th haircut is $10 and there is a student discount.

After two years of not being in Montreal this was my first time to try and get a haircut and boy it reminded me of what I hate about this city. I had a good experience with Marion before but this time I needed a haircut so I went for whoever was available this evening and it was Marie-eve. I arrived at the address at 6:25 but, lucky as I was, it was also hockey night and it took me 10 minutes to realize that I had to pay for parking otherwise I couldn't find one. Parking guy was also super slow so I arrived in Andies at 6:45 instead of 6:30. I had driven from Cote-saint-Luc, looked for parking for 20 minutes and ended up paying $15 for parking. Needless to say that I was denied service saying that they had a 10 minutes policy. Who knows where that is written? Anyhow, they were mean and not even listening to what I had to say... it was a terrible experience and I will never go back to this place.

This is definitely the best place I've gone to get my hair cut at in Montreal. I don't know why other people are complaining - the ladies there are all super friendly and clearly take pride in their work. The cuts are consistent and very inexpensive. I've been there five times and four times I walked away with the best haircut I've ever had. The last time I was there, I wasn't happy with it so I returned a week later and another employee offered to fix it up for free (thank you Sara!) It's walk-in only so you might have to wait a bit. The longest I've had to wait is 20 minutes but they offer free coffee while you wait so it's not too bad. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're downtown!
