Came to get haircut done, realized after few days the haircut wasn't even with my hair a lot longer on one side than the other. Since I wasn't in town, I waited another few days until my boss told me when I'll be heading back to town. Called Tommy Guns to let them know when I'll be back so i can get the small area on the side of my head fixed where they didn't cut it even. Was told I had to pay for another haircut to get that little bit fixed.

I have mixed feelings here.. First visit, decided I wanted to go bald and get a hot shave as well. My first reaction here is that I actually felt the love for the 2 hours I was in that chair. Girl was nice, took her time and seemed to be very thorough. 100 bucks later, I go back to work. Well the head part looks nice from what I can see. I'm as bald as I can imagine. The face shaving on the other hand... Not so good. Both corners around the lips feel prickly. One side of my neck is somewhat smooth. The other side feels like a day old shaving. Considering the amount of time (and money) spent on it, I am disappointed. The massage however... Omg!! That part was definitely awesome .

My regular place for a haircut. Pros - great staff. Hair always looks awesome, I go to the same girl every time and she always makes me look my best. Cons - it's a 35 dollar haircut. It's a premium barbershop for sure. If you keep your hair short,it gets expensive.

Sunny was personable, and did a wonderful job with my hair. My son was able to come with me to my haircut in his stroller, which if I wasn’t able to do, I wouldn’t have been able to get my hair cut altogether - so that was great! Reception staff were friendly and courteous, and other stylists were also friendly and smiling (even through masks) to other customers, myself and my son. Grandview Tommy Guns is a great location with wonderful service!

I have had my hair cut multiple times here. Been happy with the cuts everytime however there online check-in is awful. Everytime I show up for my "quoted" time it is always at least 30 more mins, unsure if this happens with the quoted times when you check-in in person.

I had a new stylist who had been at Tommy Gunn’s for a week. But Jieun at Stonebridge in Saskatoon was quick and thorough with the same deft touch of an old-style barber. The Traditional Cut includes a scalp massage. When I left the shop, I not only looked good - I felt good too! Great service to get the cut you want!

Was great to come in as a walk-in and have my son's haircut happen immediately, we were in a rush and everything fell into place and I was very thankful. With lots of chairs available makes this location a go-to for metrotown area for those in need of a good barber. UPDATE: Management gave me a call and was more than apologetic and understanding about the situation. They're great people, unfortunately the barber I got was just too unprofessional. I've been informed that she's been let go and that Tommy Gunn has a standard they uphold. To say that the barber messed up my hair would be an understatement. The worst part about it is he blamed MY HAIR and said that IT was the issue. Only when I said "Can you get a second opinion" did he have the guts to go grab someone more knowledgable, so who knows what could have happened if I just let him go on? No apologies from the original barber who messed up my hair whatsoever. The only reason I'm even giving a star is because the lady who came to aid tried to resolve the issue and was very kind about it, but at that point it was too far gone. Never again. BE VERY CAUTIOUS, the range of skill here is just too much, I could have done a better job cutting my own hair. Everyone was shocked at how terrible of a cut it was.

Worse Tommy Gun's I've been to. I was told 1h20min wait and they'd call me 20 mins before. 1h30min pass, and no call. I went back and found 3 other people had gone ahead of me so I had to wait another 20 mins. No apologies at all, they just told me to wait. Didn't even get offered drinks. Never coming back here. Worst customer service. Update: Changing this review to 3 stars for now. Their manager called me to sort out the situation, and I appreciate the effort. I'll try them out one more time.

Super friendly had zero problems up until my last 2 beard trims. Why bother booking a beard trim if your "barbers" don't know how to cut a longer beard. Also I enjoy seeing a few of the barbers on staff but find it very frustrating that I can't choose online the same person or know when they are actually working next to book in. Last visit I was put put a person and she had no idea how to cut a long beard I then asked for someone who did. Waited for 10mins the was paired with another stylist / barber who had once again zero experience and proceeded to cut the way she felt.

This is definitely the place to go for a stylish haircut that you don’t need to book a week in advance. Not sure if I can give them a bad review for being busy but there isn’t much seating available and sometimes over an hour wait for a haircut. Might be best to check in first then grab lunch somewhere on a busy day.

I got in farily quickly. Excellent customer service. Though I guess I am not normal which confused the stylist/barber, I don't see my hair so don't care and just asked for a haircut. He did great with those instructions. I did shave my beard the day before because I found myself combing my face and I don't comb my hair. So don't know what all the stuff they have for sale in the front is but there is alot of it, if you comb your face or hair.

Came in to get a simple fade and it turned out uneven. One said is an okay fade and the other side is cut to one length. Also had to remind the hair cutter that they didn't cut my bangs. "This is how your hair looked when you came in." No because the last time I was there it was a 5/5 haircut. Starting a new job tomorrow and it's going to be on my mind. I don't mean to sound harsh but it's always a gamble with Tommy Guns.

Nice and clean place. Very nice reception but my son is six and his stylist wasn't very patient. He had only been in the chair less than 5 mins and she was huffing about it, literally. Also, she started to give up so I let her. My little boys haircut was OK but his sideburns aren't even the same and it was a bit choppy. I was also told over the phone that the haircut included a wash and I wasn't even given the option. We had waited for our cut. I still tipped her nicely. I would just suggest some kind of training related to kids. Not everyone is the same some kids are fidgety for all kinds of reasons, learning disabilities etc.

Decent haircut, but prices are inflated compared to other barbershops of similar quality. I bought a few products and tried to return one literally 15 minutes after purchase and was told returns are only for store credit. That policy wasn't posted anywhere, in fact the cashier asked if I wanted my receipt when I made the purchase in case I wanted to return something. Not a customer focussed policy. Policy now posted at the front counter.

I brought my two little brothers (11 and 7) for their first professional hair cut. To begin, the lady at the counter seemed annoyed at the fact that we were there, she was not courteous or even showed a smile from beginning to end. But I assumed, maybe she had a bad day and didn't say anything. Then my brothers got sat at the same time, side to side, which we tough would be a good since they were both very scared to have a stranger cut their hair for the first time. I explained both hairdressers that I wanted the same hairstyle for both of them, and even brought my boyfriend who had the haircut we wanted. Regan, the hairdresser for the youngest one(7y/o), did an AMAZING job, asked my brother how he felt, and walked him through the whole process, and even gave my brother a relaxing hair wash, and at the end the haircut looked exactly like we wanted. But the other hairstyle (purple hair lady) did not ask anything or even tried to talk to my brother (11y/o). She began by just taking all the hair of the sides and back, even tough I specifically mentioned that we wanted a fade on the sides. 5 mins in, when I realized what was happening, i asked her again if she remember we wanted a fade and she said yes. Then started to say that she couldn't do much because my brothers hair was a different texture. Note that my boyfriends hair and my brother's are exactly the same type. Then for the top of the hair she didn't bother to blend the hair or even ask which side would he prefer (which the other hairstylist did, and made sure with me that it was what i wanted) so it was left spiky and weird. By the end of the appointment, she just cleaned him for 5 secs, and then rushed to put a jacket on and leave for a smoke. This was a very disappointing experience since one of them got a great job done while my other brother was sad and upset that it wasn't what he expected. I came back 5 minutes after we left, to explain to the receptionist what happened and she said "DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING, I AM NOT A HAIRSTYLIST, IF U WANTED THE SAME HAIRCUT THEN U SHOULD'VE ASKED FOR THE SAME HAIRDRESSER". Note that I was not being rude or loud, I was simply trying to explain her that it wasn't what we expected and if Regan could fix this situation. He got sat again, and she explained that she couldn't do the fade because the other hairdresser had already shaved most of his head, and that if she tried it would be too close to the skin but she still fixed as much as she could. Overall, I do not recommend this place, unless u get a haircut by Regan.

I think I found my new favourite barber shop. Jocelyn did a wonderful job, very attentive and knowledgeable. It was only $31 for a pretty high end cut that I’d normally pay over $50 for. You even get a shampoo and really nice head massage. Recommended!

Overpriced and they're suing a local guy because he's doing a better job than them. In a review further down, the customer service company that represents them insists that you should feel fortunate to pay $30 for a cut because their barbers go to school. Maybe if they didn't pay lawyers to fight petty wars they could drop their price. Go to Tommy's Barber Shop instead!

Like most people, i've changed hairstylists and barber shops for many years. One day I decided to try Tommy Gun's since I was right by it. By far the best decision I could have done. The costumer service provided at this location is beyond exceptional. From the Manager Elyse who's always greeting me by first name and making sure I have everything I need to my hairstylist Angie, who is always going above and beyond to make sure that I get an amazing haircut. Not once have I left this location without being completely satisfied. If you're in need of a haircut and debating whether or not to enter this barber shop, I strongly suggest you do because you will not be disappointed!

Hair cut was ok. They did ask multiple times how the service was. Well it wasn't my cup of tea. Atmosphere was more oriented at showing eye candy than good service. I'm talking about attractive women cutting the hair. I was pressured for upsales like a scalp massage. It was also more expensive than a regular Barber shop. I am looking for a regular Barber shop that has no gimmicks and does a good haircut for a good price. This place doesn't fit the bill.

There was 6 clients on the “Up Next” screen. My son and I was the first 2 on the list with wait times of 0-7 minutes. We were told other people were in front of us even though it showed us next. The person at the till kept allowing others ahead of us even if they were not there. Extremely bad customer service especially when you can clearly see you are up next before others. If you do not know how or do not want to use the system for who’s up next don’t use it or advertise it. The stylists were good.

Terrible experience with this location. I had signed in online and told there was an hour twenty minute wait which was fine. I live about 25 minutes away so its quite a drive. I show up and a secretary and hairdresser (about to leave) tell me Im not in the system and that I must have signed into a different store location. I show them the text proving it was grandview corners (the right one). Im then told by the hairdresser about to leave - "sorry we close in an hour and have two people waiting." There was no urgency or any attempt to try to accommodate. Terrible customer service and a huge waste of time.

This is the 2nd time i have used Tommy Guns in my life…1st location was in Guildford and that was terrible cut and i had to walk out not paying and with a terrible hair cut. Because of the time of day and life i could only make it to tommy guns as my regular barber shop was closed. So i went…regret it… when i was shown my hair cut in the shop, it looked okay. It wasn't till i got home and really noticed. The fading is terrible and inconsistent, very patchy. Im so annoyed! I will go to my reg barber to fix it. Im not sure where you get your stylist honestly….im going to leave the stylist name out of this review for their privacy. Why did I go…strike one and strike two….caution everyone avoid tommy guns all together!!! find a different shop.

It's not the first time I have been here, have been here least 4-5 times earlier. But the service that I received today was rude and highly unsatisfying. I had my appointment at 11:57AM for my toddler and turned up there right on time. I saw my son's name as second in the list and estimated wait time was shown as "now" . After a bit, the third name from the list got called in when the first and second were waiting. I had to wait another 40 minutes, during which, I also had to wait for the employee to finish her smoke break and service us. After the service, I questioned on the wait time and also on how the person behind us got serviced before us. They were very rude and argumentative and told me that it's only the estimate wait time and also that the queue system has glitches when displayed on the TV. Being a technically sound person, dealing with technical systems for my bread and butter, I find it hard to believe that the queue system working well on computer, when projected to a TV using HDMI or anything suddenly turns up with glitches. Do not expect all good reviews and praises always irrespective of the service you give. Do not justify your short comings, I do not care of staff shortage or anything of the sort, thats why an institution has managers, to deal with those problems. I am a customer who pays for the service you provide. I try my best to give good reviews digging up the most positive, but this sure is an exception. I would never consider going back here if I have a choice. For the hip and money you charge, pathetic service and rude staff.

I came in to get a trim the other day. I already had the style I wanted, which was an undercut. All that needed to be done was for my sides to be buzzed and an inch taken off the top. The woman came in like an attack helicopter and left me looking like I took a weed whacker to the head. I've had bad haircuts in the past— everyone does. And until now, I've always taken the hey-it's-just-hair, it'll-grow-back stance; but what she left me with wasn't even mendable. The fact of the matter is that I didn't want anything major done: all I wanted was a simple trim. What I ended up with could be best described as a crew cut (not what I wanted) and poor one at that. I ended up with a part-line that was half an inch thick and two inches too high. And if that wasn't bad enough, for some reason the lady who cut my hair buzzed off the first half inch of my bangs, pushing my hairline back and causing it to go all wonky. In the end, I left very unhappyz And the woman who cut my hair even had the nerve to try and give me heck. She told me I should've brought a picture in, which is ludicrous because I already had my hair the way I liked it. She shouldn't have needed a picture for a simple trim. Maybe if I was changing styles or wanted a lot taken off, but for a simple, basic trim? And even then, that does not account for the mistakes she had made. But in her defence I do have "difficult hair"— at least according to her.. Which funny enough I've never gotten before.. In fact, from what I remember anybody who's ever cut my hair has found it incredibly easy to work with. I have... or should I say used to have a thick, healthy head of hair. If it wasn't for the fact I had places to be, I would've made them fix it then and there. I ended up having to come in a couple of days later instead. Luckily I work for the family business and have a somewhat flexible schedule, because I had to take time out of my work day to come in and have them attempt to correct what they had done. Of course the only way to fix their botch job was to buzz it all off on a setting lower than 1. There's nothing else they really could've done. I don't blame the second stylist at all, for the record. But it's a shame I had to pay 30 dollars for them to make me bald when I never had any intention of loosing all my hair when I walked in the first time. As compensation, the manager did leave a ticket at the front desk for one free haircut in the future, but if she had seen what they had done, I should've gotten a whole wallet full. The lady who had to buzz of the remainder of my hair was nice enough to give me a second ticket. But the thing is I don't even know that I'll have the chance to use those tickets, because at this point in time, I don't particularly feel like going back to Tommy guns. It's going to take half a year minimum, accounting for the occasional trim, to get my hair anywhere back to the way I it was; and I don't have much faith in their ability to mend what they have broken. I used to have a great set of hair that was low maintenance, professional, and looked good. Now, I look like a skinhead.

I’ve been going to Tommy Guns in Pearlgate for the past 2 years. Kyle is the barber who usually does my cut and bleach job. Tommy Guns is an excellent barber shop and they are very reasonably priced too. After visiting a few barbershops in the St. John’s metropolitan area this is by far my favourite one to go to. Not only do they do an excellent job here but they also give great tips on how to take care of your hair afterwards. Wait times are excellent here if you call ahead of time. 5 stars.

I will start of by saying I got a good haircut today and Mariah was friendly and good at what she did. This review is however for the shady business practice . I walked in today asked for the price to get haircut and color , and was quoted $62. Most places charge $50 or less but sure $62 is fine . Got a nice hair cut & color and was fairly happy and decided to drop $10 as gratutity but within seconds my great experience went straight to disappointment as my final total came to $95. On questioning I was told that it's because I got charged consultation fee. Now I didn't get any consultation nor did I ask for one. I was quite tired and I didn't want to argue so paid and left but I find this unsettling As a retail business owner I find this a shady business practice and quite honestly unacceptable. Honor what you quote . I would have been more than happy to pay if I had requested something else during the haircut but nope , a simple hair color and cut costed me $95. Not done guys ! Update Jan29/19 After a lot of back and forth and corporate intervention I was finally refunded the difference . Adding two more stars for Tommy guns to finally doing the necessary.

Very hit or miss depending on the person you get to do your hair. It's a bit of a haircut factory so they will rush through your service if it's an easy one so they can put more people through. Just got home from having a hair cut and bread trim, only to have my wife laugh at me. I thought it looked good and was pleased with the service. Well she is right as usual. This is my first time growing a beard and it was cut a bit shorter than i thought it was goining to be. I could live with that but it is not symmetrical from one side to the other side and not shaped well. I will be returning in the morning to have it fixed. Unfortunately, I think the only way to repair it is to go even shorter, not happy with that. This was my second visit and the experience was not as great as my first. Will reassess after tomorrow's visit. Update. I did go back the next morning, showed up 10 min before opening. I was amazed on how many people were waiting. They opened the doors got people in and took me in right away. Fixed me up and I was on my way. Everyone is entitled to a bad day every now and then. Although, my beard is over an inch shorter. I'm please with how this was dealt with. I will be going back just might not use the same barber.

My previous experience with Tommy Guns was not a good one. I had received a barber that seemed to be experimenting with my hair, resulting in a haircut that I wasn't expecting. However, that was a couple months ago, but this time I decided to give it another chance, as it is the only local barber shop open late on Sundays. Immediately, I was treated with utmost respect as the barber Allan, introduced himself and offered me a drink. I was incredibly pleased, as I had never been treated with respect before. Allan was a great barber, he gave me the haircut I wanted with a really nice fade. Although I don't agree with their expensive prices, I believe Allan was worth the total cost of the haircut. I recommend Allan as a barber, if you are looking for someone with great attention to detail.

I bought this as a gift for my husband for Father's Day. I spend $80 so he could go there and have the worst experience ever. First of all you can't make an appointment in person you have to actually go online create an account to make an appointment. Second my husband's beard beard is crooked and he has to go somewhere else and have it fixed. Third the guy that worked on him had such bad BO it made him gag. This one staff member perhaps needs to know that washing with soap and wearing clean clothes is very important when you work with the public I would not recommend this business to anyone.

Never I will go back to Man’s Cave, found my new favorite. TG have nice waiting seats with iPads for you to play with, much men grooming products to get (basically everything you know) and AWESOME staff. They offer basic beverages (water, pops). The location is right next to skytrain, Starbucks, Chipotle and mall. They have other services including scalp massage, treatments, ect. This is a nice oasis to get fresh haircut and relax.

The service was really great. I came in near close and it was a little dicey as to whether I'd be able to get in that day. But staff stayed in touch with me the whole time and let me know how it was going. Tommy Gun's always has great hospitality, but this really took the cake. I was able to get in as one of the last of the day, but even had I not, the staff's communication made sure I had no surprises.

Lately have been feeling super self-conscious about my hair. But didn’t have a lot of money to get a haircut. Staff was super awesome and gave me a discounted price. Met Gavin a couple days ago on my work break and he cut my hair. Super awesome dude, great conversationalist and knows what he’s doing. Recommend this place strongly to whoever needs to feel fresh and they definitely gained a long term customer. Would give more stars if I could.

I don't really have anything negative to say about Tommy Gun's. Except that they don't have enough locations. Tommy guns will quote you a certain wait time but they will always get you in faster so be mindful of that. The scalp massages are devine, not to mention, included in the cost of the cut. Enjoy!

I was enthusiastic after my first haircut, they did a good job and listened to me. Unfortunately the last time I went for my son's haircut the man did a butcher's job - it looked like he had not been trained at all. He was really rude too when I stepped in to voice my concerns, and angrily told my wife to get my son out of the chair. I complained to the staff, who apologized, and gave me the manager's information. I wrote a long email to the manager/owner the same day telling what had happened. I never heard back from her. I can only presume the management set the tone and general standard of the people who work there. I can't bring myself to go back there. The haircuts after that first great one I was getting were average, and frankly I can get better haircuts elsewhere at that price. Maybe I had bad luck with my son's haircut, but the fact that the manager didn't respond to me suggests otherwise. I don't recommend this place.

Had my 14 year old run in for a simple haircut. While the staff was friendly the haircut was subpar. The hairdresser cut his neck with the trimmers in 5 different places and the trim across the back is totally crooked. Probably wouldn't recommend or return.

depends on who you get to cut your hair and when you go. I hate their check in system you can arrive and sit there for 3 hours sometimes, fades are usually poorly done and the prices are just above average. but it's convient so many people go

It was my first time to Tommy Guns ever last month at the Stonebridge location. I decided to do the full haircut and shave experience. The stylist had excellent single blade barber skills and I left feeling Iike a million bucks. Im taking my 6 year old nephew with me today to get cleaned up. Can't remember the stylist's name but she's from Ireland and was very friendly.

Great place and consistent stylists especially if you stick to a favourite. Great kid haircuts as well. Help yourself to a fridge full of beverages or coffee or tea. Scalp massages with most services. Only reason I didn't give it a five is the location I go to in Langley is almost always packed.

It's nice to have a barber shop geared directly to boys/men. They know what they are doing, as their skill sets are taylored to working on men's hair, and it shows. No nonsense, no snobbery, no price gouging, no making an appointment 3 weeks in advance, no sitting in a chair for an hour getting a cut. 15 minutes, and you're out the door, looking fresh and not feeling stressed or ripped off. If you are male, and need a hair cut, most likely you will be happy with choosing these guys.

The receptionist was friendly. The Indian guy, I forget what his name is but he did an amazing job. He was using scissors on my beard real close to my nostrils and lips. Not once did I worry cause I could tell this guy was an absolute master. I asked for a high and tight cut and he basically nailed it. He wasn't real chatty like some of the others, but that's fine I was really enjoying his scissor skills. I have gone here often and it seems like there is always different barbers every time I go. It is fine cause I've never had a bad experience.
