Awesome local old school barber shop with a modern twist ran by a very friendly mother daughter team. I love that they do the finishing touches with a straight razor and a hot towel, a little extra service without the premium price that others charge. They offer hot shaves too, although I haven't had one yet. I first went because it is close to my house, but honestly I'd drive across town now if I moved. Highly recommended.

Short version: Great cut, exceptional service (SERIOUSLY), even better price than expected. Lovely inside and worth your while to pass other barbershops to get here. 10/10 Long version: This is a legitimately competitive and local family business here in town. Calling them to book an appointment was remarkably fast and friendly and Abigail was confidently welcoming and professional on the phone. I want to highlight the inside decor. On the inside of what is a regular centre-city small building actually contains a beautifully fresh decor mixing the old and new very well with a light coloured and uplifting atmosphere in a small room. It's really hard to describe how well they set this up but the aesthetics in this cozy spot seems professionally done. I was immediately greeted by Abigail by my name given on the phone. Was finishing up with another client and still got me in a few minutes early. While technically the same room as the waiting room, around the partition is where Brenda cut my hair. It was a cozy, relaxing and private atmosphere and the window makes the space feel open, but not in such a way that you're on display in the window from the outside. I felt very comfortable. I had let my hair grow out way too long. They could have used clippers for my back and side to save time but instead chose to go by hand and scissors and it turns out much better. Brenda is very competent and confident, but was very attentive to what I liked and wanted, and succeeded very well. At points during the cut, apprentice Abigail was watching and learning, but not overbearing. They both sensed my initial regular nervousness of a first time at a new barbershop and accommodated to it immediately. They were very good at breaking the ice and tension while maintaining professionalism. They even had cold bottled water ready to serve and offered and served it promptly. At the end of the cut they made sure, with great care, that I was satisfied and they were happy to make any finishing touches. Got my first straight blade shave too and it was great! I know this is long but I can't stress enough how impressed I am with this place. I rarely write reviews about anywhere but they deserve it. Best service ever. Please give it a try!

Have had great haircuts for me (and my 5 year old). Trim/shaving work is excellent around neck and ears. Price is right. Decor is a perfect fusion of old style-meets modern. And last but not least, the staff are lovely : ) Thank you!
