There are amazing men and women working at this location (and they are opening a next location I was told). There are historical, multicultural and age diversity at this barbershop. The staff are friendly and great, each member has their strong points and skill sets and it's one of the only places in Newfoundland where we as a family felt welcome with old time days with old time ways mixed with modernity and progressive conversation. As for the services administered. All clients are smiling going in or if they came in with a stone face, they leave smiling as they are looking and feeling better. Alot of sharp, good looking and tidy up persons leave the location and to know something as simple as a hair cut cheers people up, helps present themselves with a best foot forward; it's amazing. We love this place and although we didn't utilize all the services available, the hair cuts are amazing and if you have a different, difficult hair type: someone there has knowledge and recommendations. It's the number one spot for our family and especially with biracial hair needs: it's our only place we have found we could actually go to address our hair issues. It's an amazing experience to go here, and the more you interact with the workers and become a regular the energy grows from there. You feel part of a community and a family. It's a wonderful place.

They will spend the necessary time, no matter how long, to give every client a cut with surgical precision that meets their standards. For that reason they don't take appointments and I think its a fantastic philosophy to have.

Usually a nice place, good service and barbers. Just make sure to treat everyone equally with regard to proof of covid vaccination, also ask for it early on so that people do not waste their time. I did not like my experience here on 6th Nov'21. I will not be returning.

Extremely unprofessional. I went there and guy said he'd give me a haircut after 2 people and when he was done, he said he had to leave to go somewhere. Ridiculous. I don't know what i was thinking but i went there again after a month and same thing happened. The guy after cutting two other guys here, said that he doesn't feel well and have to leave. Bottomline: If you want to waste 2-3 hours of your life, go there and be my guest. Otherwise, better to go somewhere else.

This place has one good barber - Gustavo. He's not always available and when he is, you will always need to wait in line. The rest are mediocre. 1949 barbers do not take appointments and even if you're given a time, it's never guaranteed. They have no concept of time. I've been going there for the past two years (because the price is decent, which is the only reason I went there) and have always had to wait at least an hour to get a haircut, one time I even had to wait 4 hours. They do not take customer suggestions well and get offended quickly if given any; I've seen this many times with many customers. During haircuts, the barbers often talk to each other and don't pay much attention to their customers. Many times I've heard them say to each other: "If customers want to come, it's up to them, we don't care if they do or don't." These guys really need to work on their customer service. Recently, I became a victim of their terrible customer service and I will for sure not be going there again.
