Came to get haircut done, realized after few days the haircut wasn't even with my hair a lot longer on one side than the other. Since I wasn't in town, I waited another few days until my boss told me when I'll be heading back to town. Called Tommy Guns to let them know when I'll be back so i can get the small area on the side of my head fixed where they didn't cut it even. Was told I had to pay for another haircut to get that little bit fixed.

I have mixed feelings here.. First visit, decided I wanted to go bald and get a hot shave as well. My first reaction here is that I actually felt the love for the 2 hours I was in that chair. Girl was nice, took her time and seemed to be very thorough. 100 bucks later, I go back to work. Well the head part looks nice from what I can see. I'm as bald as I can imagine. The face shaving on the other hand... Not so good. Both corners around the lips feel prickly. One side of my neck is somewhat smooth. The other side feels like a day old shaving. Considering the amount of time (and money) spent on it, I am disappointed. The massage however... Omg!! That part was definitely awesome .

Like most people, i've changed hairstylists and barber shops for many years. One day I decided to try Tommy Gun's since I was right by it. By far the best decision I could have done. The costumer service provided at this location is beyond exceptional. From the Manager Elyse who's always greeting me by first name and making sure I have everything I need to my hairstylist Angie, who is always going above and beyond to make sure that I get an amazing haircut. Not once have I left this location without being completely satisfied. If you're in need of a haircut and debating whether or not to enter this barber shop, I strongly suggest you do because you will not be disappointed!

Hair cut was ok. They did ask multiple times how the service was. Well it wasn't my cup of tea. Atmosphere was more oriented at showing eye candy than good service. I'm talking about attractive women cutting the hair. I was pressured for upsales like a scalp massage. It was also more expensive than a regular Barber shop. I am looking for a regular Barber shop that has no gimmicks and does a good haircut for a good price. This place doesn't fit the bill.

Very hit or miss depending on the person you get to do your hair. It's a bit of a haircut factory so they will rush through your service if it's an easy one so they can put more people through. The heavily advertised scalp massage is basically an afterthought. My most recent experience was one of my better ones.

I don't really have anything negative to say about Tommy Gun's. Except that they don't have enough locations. Tommy guns will quote you a certain wait time but they will always get you in faster so be mindful of that. The scalp massages are devine, not to mention, included in the cost of the cut. Enjoy!

Do not come to this barber shop if you are looking for a fade. I asked this Edward to cut maybe 2 centimetres from my hair and it looks like he shaved my head, and I asked for a fade on the sides and my sides are literally a straight 0. This is the worst barber shop in YEG if you are a teen I don’t recommend this to anyone except old guys who don’t care anymore.

Don’t have to wait long if you just drop in and you can call ahead to get put on their list and be text notified when you’re almost up. Or you can sit upstairs in the lounge area with a drink and several TVs and games. There’s even TVs in the mirrors. Most of the stylists are great with most men’s hair of all ages, some even do facial hair, all are friendly, and they make you feel relaxed with a nice scalp massage during the wash.

You tell the barbers you dont want a fade and you want a undercut that keeps your hair growing out straight and they give you a fade anyways and ignore what you ask for its ridiculous

First of all I would like to start this on a positive note by commenting on a Barber named Alma from the South Edmonton Common location who does an excellent job with my hair and knows exactly what I'm going for without me having to over explain much. However, she is the only Tommy Guns employee I trust with cutting my hair as I recently went to your Windemere location and was greeted with a completely rude employee who asked me a million questions about exactly how I wanted it, and every time I explained she got confused, even after I showed her a photo and communicated I wanted it tame, but not overly short. She said that she didn't know what I meant which is and got increasingly condescending, and used a childish tone with me as I am 16. Didn't treat me like a normal customer and frankly I didn't trust nor feel comfortable with this woman cutting my hair. It was complete ignorance and I wasn't going to let a rude, condescending, confused and inept person cut my hair. So I simply stormed off. It was a very frustrating confrontation, and you should remind your employees of proper customer interaction vital for customer service. She didn't seem too enthusiastic about her job and acted in a way that put herself above me (the customer.) Most barbers or anyone with basic customer service skills respect and listen to what the client has to say and responds in a respectful manner. Alma is an employee however, who deserves praise as she is friendly, competent and an experienced employee who I immediately got a sense of professionalism and trust. Alma is amazing and listens to get a gist of what I want, then immediately knows exactly what she's going for, I feel respected as an individual with her. Would you allow someone you don't trust to cut your hair? No, then stop hiring the bottom of the barrel and start hiring more competent employees like Alma from South Edmonton Common.

This was my second time going to this location, and the young lady that gave me the cut did an "O.K. job" the first time. The 2nd time she gave me a completely different one, when I had told her that I wanted a trim and touch up, same as before. She gives me a millennial type of do, or a combover as you will. Very bad!! The girls were very unfriendly from the moment I walked into the door. Looked at me like I was stupid for coming to them for a female haircut. In fact as I was starting to sit in the chair I observed in the mirror the girls making faces and eye contact with eachother so I politely asked "look am I missing something here?" And she responded with well we don't usually do female haircuts here. Personally I don't think that should matter, I am a client and I'm coming for a haircut, plain and simple, I know quite a few woman who come here for their hair which is why I came by - because of good recommendation. Still though, it gives you no right to make faces at each other and laugh at the fact that I'm new and may not "know how this works." Upon paying, my boyfriend actually stepped in as I didn't want to bring up confrontation, but on my behalf he asked why my hair was only rinsed. No shampoo, no massage. And also why my hair wasn't styled. They responded with "well as her hair is long it would cost more money to have more done to it." Isn't it listed in the traditional that it comes with Shampoo, massage, cut and style? The only style she did was blow dry to the point where it would still steam heavily if you tried to straighten it. Also I only got a trim so if they charged me any higher I would have walked out then and there. Truthfully, I should have left instantly when they laughed and made faces regarding my appointment. Completely unacceptable. In the end the girl there said multiple times in a condescending manner that "it's different" because I was a female - and that they are a barber shop and those services are listed for a men's cut ONLY (which it does NOT specify.) I am absolutely appalled and i wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy to this establishment. Worst salon experience I've ever had ANYWHERE. Haircut was O.K., I've had better.

Absolutely terrible experience. Start off with the woman with terrible attitude at the desk. The barbers that don't know how to do a simple fade. A barber that can't do a simple fade is a joke. They should tell you if a barber is in training or in experienced. She literally buzzed the sides passed it off for a fade.... It seems they only know how to cut one type of hairstyle.... Go to barber ha for a quality cut. Same price 100x better service.

I started going there about a year ago. The service very quickly became unparalleled. The manager learned my name and greets me every time I show up. The stylist always seen to be enjoying themselves. I now travel across the city to metro going there. The personal service and constant good times and great jobs keep me coming back. I can not understand these bad reviews. There is a long wait because the have a lot of repeat customers, not something you see at a bad shop. It is also obvious that some of the comments are from competition. A special thanks to Elyse for making the experience warm and personal. My sideburns were uneven, a visible line around the base of my undercut, and it felt like my barber was taking out all of her aggression on my when buzzing my hair. I got water in both eyes during the hair wash, and i thought she was going to crush my skull with how vigorously she "massaged" the conditioner into my hair. Didn't bother asking if I wanted product in my hair and just used some anyways, and then I'm expected to pay a tip? Unbelievable

I'm surprised by some of the negative comments about this location. I look forward to a hot shave and haircut anytime I visit. What I love the most are the familiar faces, not just from the always smiling staff, but faces I recognize from going so often. What's not to like there? Nothing! I show up early sometimes just to have a free pop or water from the fully stocked fridge, while watching 4 big screen TV's upstairs. I've been going for 6 months and they know my name and cut the second I walk in! No place else I would ever go to now. Highly recommend you try the place. Ask for H.P and tell her I sent you!

Went there yesterday hoping to get a solid haircut while also getting nice blond highlights/streaks, but BOY was I ever disappointed! I asked to get a relatively short cut all around, and only a small trim up top, which looked fine. They said they did NOT have any more blond "bleaching" product so they resorted to an alternative way of highlighting my hair blonde with some product, but the result at the end was TERRIBLE! I legit do not see ANY blond highlights in my hair and they claim it's supposed to be a "minor difference" in hair color, which is truly BS. I ended up paying the disgusting price of $40+ for the fake blond "highlights" anyways and left in evident anger. Will definitely NOT go to this barber ever again.

I just find it excessively expensive. I have nothing against the service you get. They do a good job and are pleasant. They offer a drink and shampoo, etc. But honestly why?! It's supposed to be tailored to dudes right? Guys don't want all the hoopla. At least I don't. I just want my hair cut. I want it done well and as quick and efficient as possible. I don't need coffee filled with hair, or water or tea, or a shampoo and massage. I just want a haircut and I don't think it should cost me $31. Long story short, I get it, I could go somewhere else, and I usually do. But these are the reasons I avoid this business. To each their own I guess. If you want a $31 Keurig, and haircut, then by all means this is your place.

I had a hard time booking an appointment here once, but I decided to give them another chance and I haven't looked back. I can't speak for all of the stylists, but I have had nothing but excellent service every time I've visited. I would recommend for men's haircuts, beard trims, / shaves, and product. As a bonus, Moxies, Starbucks, and Earls are in the parking lot, so if you're thirsty while you wait, and don't feel like Tommy Gun's coffee or water, there's options close by.

I went for a hair cut with Krysta. Upon my arrival, the receptionist was very cheerful which was a stark contrast to Krysta. Krysta kept showing attitude and was extremely rude while cutting my hair. She wasn't doing a good job fading my hair, when I asked if it will blend in, she, very rudely, said "why don't you just wait." I don't know if it was just early morning, Krysta was having a bad morning, or if she was just fed up with her life, which given her attitude towards people, I'm not surprised, but I felt very rushed and was extremely displeased with the haircut I received. The hair, instead of spking up at the front with a slight fade, turned into a side buzz cut with the top resembling more of a bowl cut. I will never go back to Tommy Gun's South Common as long as Krysta is there. None of the stylists seem well trained, either in hairstyling, nor customer service.

I liked the atmosphere but have a few concerns. When I arrived as a new customer I wasn't given much of an orientation . Wait time was only 20 min. My concern is I was not offered a moustache or eyebrow trim. I was told by a friend that this was always done? I had to complete the trimming at home. That was a disappointment. Seems it's a rush to get people through. Hmmmm?

Warning! I'd like to start off by saying, generally my experience at Tommy Guns has been good; I've been to a couple, great layout and concept, a modern barbershop experience. BUT, my recent experience was horrible. I've been growing my hair out for sometime now, and went in for ( I can't stress this enough) just a TRIM around the ears. After confirming that she would be doing a little blending, she proceed to butcher the back of my head, totally chopping the crown of my head practically leaving me with a bald spot, not to mention that the top of my head having 5+ inches on it, leaving me with a lop - sided cut..... I'm not trying to discourage overall business, in fact they made it right the ñext day when I went back I for another stylist to fix it ... I was one step closer to shaving my head (not something I would have ever expected to do) ... i only warn you that I received the most brutal cut of my life from a heavier set female, with glasses, dyed red/pink hair who's name rymes with haira. Wish me luck growing out my hair for another 6 months to get it to where I was.

When I went to get my haircut here I booked an appointment through the Phone for 1:45pm and arrived exactly at that time. I was greeted and asked if I wanted a drink. I didn't request anyone specifically. After the hair dresser took me to my seat. I told her to make the sides a 6.5, leave the front of the top and take a little of the back of the top. When she started she started talking to the two hair dressers beside her. She kept talking to them and didn't even focus on what she was doing to my hair. I ended up having lots of hair taken off and the sides were uneven one being 5 and the other being 6. When she added product to my hair she didn't know what she was doing with it, she left one big glob of it in one spot and nothing anywhere else. If you want someone to cut your hair make sure they pay attention to it.

Most places charge around 22 dollars for a haircut that leaves me covered in hair before I have to go somewhere. For an extra 8 I get a scalp massage and they wash my hair after the cut so im not all prickly, Id say its a worth it add on.

If I could give zero stars I would. I am not sure the training the staff go through, but the contrast of talent is enormous. You can get a good cut, but the risks are high of getting a horrible one. Too many bad cuts, never going back.

I did come a bit(10mins) late due to traffic, but upon arriving i was not called in even after 40 minutes of waiting, with three other people coming in later than me and got called in before me. And when I asked why they said they weren't ready for me despite the text confirmation. Really sad i really liked my first experience here with a great haircut and appropriate timing with check in but this was just bad service.

This was the first time I've been to Tommy Gun's and I was extremely pleased. Paula did a great job. This was also the first time I had a hot shave. I was completely relaxed. I've been going to the south common location for a year now, staff was always friendly. Don't know what changed was rudely interrupted when I went to use the computer to put my name into the system for a cut and shave... To be told that they no longer do walk in and I have to book my appointment on an app. When I asked politely when this changed she retorted with "we've always been like this, we are fully booked so come back another day" I'm sorry but this left a very bad taste in my mouth I will no longer be using Tommy guns for my hair cuts or shaves.

Real talk, this was my first time and I've never had a more delightful experience getting a haircut in my entire life. The place was set up beautifully, there self sign in system was legit, the product selection was on point and we'll stocked (as well as beautifully organized), but the most memorable part was my amazing stylist, Heather. She was hilarious, was a non stop flow of hilarious jokes, and was unbelievably skilled and efficient at her craft. I am so pleased with my choice of coming here, that if I wasn't a lazy ass I'd come here every week to get a haircut just so I could have her brighten my day. 1000 out of 10 you will not regret coming here.

I’ve been going to Tommy Gun’s for years and have been to this location dozens of times. It’s almost always been a great experience, especially if you get Flora. She’s amazing! However, if you get Paula you might as well go to Great Clips and ask them to rinse your head with a garden hose. I’ve had Paula twice now and been very displeased both times. The cut always looks rough and uneven. I also feel like she has no clue how to trim and shape a beard. She is really good at getting water in your ears though. If I could rate just her I’d give 1/5 everyone else there 5/5.

Started as a nice place to go and get a cut and shave. Went to get my hair cut the other day and was told there was an hour wait.... there was only one person sitting waiting. I asked how that can be and the lady at the desk started telling me of people using an app to book online appointment times. So I said oh so you aren't a barber shop anymore you are a salon now? She then said that with the wait times they have they don't want their customers sitting there waiting for hours. The point behind a barbershop is first come first serve. You wait for your cut. It isn't hard concept. I tried both locations and they were both the same waits. Won't be back. I don't go to hair salons for a cut and shave. I did however find out that my old barber shop was still open. Be sure to check out Sam's barber shop next to the crown and anchor pub in castle downs for the best hair cut you could ask for. Nice guys. Good cut. Glad that Sam's cousin took over the shop and kept it going.

This location does not give any beverages for customers before the haircut. I never noticed any pinball machine and there were too few customers. There was no tea tree oil with the scalp massage which was not relaxing and felt rushed. The women working were 6/7 out of ten for looks. About 33 bucks for a men's haircut. I left feeling meh.

The good: the stylists do a good job, there are some nice touches like the waiting area with video games, TVs, etc. The bad: it's starting to become run down. For example, when I started going here 18 months ago, they had TVs at every chair. For the past six months or so, they've not been working. Also, they have a REALLY bad retention issue. In chatting with my stylist there the other night, there are only THREE staff members who have been there for more than about nine months! Whenever I go in hoping to get the same stylist as before, I find out she's left... The ugly: their checkin / appointment-less system. The wait times are never accurate, they don't accept phone-in appointments, and it generally leads to a big waste of time. Overall recommendation: go next door to Evelyn Charles -- you'll book an appointment and be in at the time you've scheduled. Or go down the street to Shadified... I hear they're good, too.

Been going to the South Edmonton Common location since it's been there and have had 3 questionable cuts in all that time, but never a bad cut and head massage at one sitting. She rushed the service, I had to tell her about the uneven sides and I never seen a clipper move so fast. I was in the chair barely 10 minutes. Normally I'd rate my experience at a 4.5 but today was the worse hair cut experience of my life. I never seen that stylist there before and hope never to again.

Wait times can be a pain in the butt, however the haircut is worth it. *Edit - I wrote this review, and then called them to check for wait times tonight for my monthly haircut. Normally when I call to ask for wait times, they say they're booked up. They have always offered to take my number and call me later in the evening when they may have openings, and I've gotten in every single time. The girl on the phone refused, and told me they were booked and would be booked for the rest of the evening. When I offered the suggestion to call me if an opening happens, she said it was up to me to call back later but they never have a free spot once they're booked. I tried to ignore the reviews here, because I've been going to Tommy Guns for two years now. But after that experience, I feel like the place is slipping.

You might walk away with a great haircut, you might end up with a lady that smells strongly of cigarettes who wants to really give you her opinion on everything and a quationable cut. There is one lady who really pushes hard to upsell services, but she doesn't tell you they are all at additional costs. Nasty surprise. The facility is fine.

This place is a joke, you use their app to book and you end up waiting over an hour and a half more than the estimated time. Most annoying experience ever . The barber women never stopped talking for more than 30 seconds the whole time I was in the chair . I got a hot shave as well as a haircut . Half way threw the hot shave she told me she couldn't do under my chin cause she didn't feel comfortable only being right handed so she refused todo the one side of my face . How do you hire someone who can only do half a job , let alone a job that involves holding a sharp blade . The haircut was decent , but I'm writing this to warn others I'd skip the hot shave it took her 40 mins just todo the hot shave and still wasn't able todo under my chin on one side cause she didn't think she could do it safely .

RACK JOB!!! It's not cheap so why are there unqualified stylists cutting hair there?!?!! My son got a tapered cut... Tapered buzzed & longer crown. The back of his neck was buzzed and you could see from 1/2 a block away that one end was higher than another. I showed Farah that she not only was it off but it wasn't as thinned out. Sure she said & re-cut. My son comes back & I don't know how she did it, but now the slant is even more pronounced. Either Farah doesn't believe me or pissed that for some reason I'm not happy with the redo. The receptionist gives me a ruler, I discreetly show Farah, & she says she sees it. I'm trying not to call her out or throw any hysteria bc the girl's got her reputation & pride too. So the 2nd redo is now a hack job. The good side is almost sheared right off now, the slant is still there, and the opposite side is still lower & thick. At this point, I'm done. The receptionist said that she too can see the slant & the fixes looked bad. We walked down to grab my son some food & as I'm looking at him directly across the table.. I see that his sideburns are 2 different lengths!! Sheesh, can this haircut get any worse. I don't know about you but I will drive to & pay good money for quality product or service. My trendy teenager son says he doesn't want to meet his friends this afternoon until his hair is fixed! I can't cut hair or own a clipper. Now I'm going to spend $$ elsewhere if I can get in!!

Started going to this location 2 years ago since my hairdresser at the time moved here. While Fiona is great, their scheduling system is very hit or miss. I've had wait times of 60-90 minutes, even after calling ahead of time to confirm availability. You'll receive the courtesy text informing you you'll be served in X minutes....only to wait way longer. Sometimes to the point where ppl queued behind you will get in before you. Save your time and only go if it's slow.

Wow and wow. Why have I not come to this place before. It is hard to see from the road, but it is behind the Keg, close to Moxies in south common. I have never been there before, had no idea what to expect. Greeted by friendly staff, AND THEN THE SHOCKER, I was offered a drink, pop or water, I thought I mishheard the question, what? Did you just offer me a drink? Are you kidding? I mean no other place will do that. That is amazing. Then I got my haircut done my a stylist named "Flora", friendly and professional. Great haircut, I also had my hair shampooed and got a scalp massage. I MEAN WOW. all included in the price. Sure I paid slightly more than other places. But damn it is worth it. Not to mention you can watch TV while getting your haircut. Amazing amazing, great job everyone.

I have been a TG customer for over a year now. I pay the extra for what has been a great customer experience at the two locations in Calgary. Been back in Edmonton for 8 weeks...2 of the 3 times I have been here have been pretty terrible experiences. First time the lady that cut my hair was bragging about inappropriate behaviour. Today I put my name on the list for a 40 minute wait. Came back in 40 minutes to a 31 minute wait time. When I asked how that happened I was told. "If I stay here it will be faster". This was the absolute worst service my husband has received and we will NOT be returning customers (despite being a regular up until this point). We phoned the shop at 11:40 this morning to book with Jessica (who is amazing), we were informed she moved away and were recommended Marcella. ** I would like to add that we drive from the northside to south common for Jessica and have ALWAYS booked with her. We have never been walk in clients or left it to chance. We were told that Marcella comes in at 1 pm, call back at 12:15 to book in with her for 1:00. We called back at 12:20 and were told she was booked until 1:30 now. No problem, we would just shop south common. We arrived at 1:20 and were directed to have a seat as it would be approx 15 more minutes. We watched Marcella take TWO more clients "by accident". What is the point of your name board? We were told by the receptionist that it would be another 20 minutes (on top of the 40 we had already waited). Now pushing the SCHEDULED appointment to 2:30 making it an hour beyond what we were advised. I went to complain to the receptionist (who we had dealt with over the phone). At this point I have not raised my voice, I told her that this was unacceptable service that we never experienced before. An older stylist decided to come up and tell me that I am wrong. She came at me telling me that they don't book, that I am mistaken and that I'll just have to wait my turn. This is unacceptable customer service, we felt disregarded as returning clients. Tommy guns, if this is considered acceptable to you, I am disgusted. The treatment we received was absolutely awful. I asked for a managers information and was given a name - no contact information or hours that she could be reached. I would appreciate someone contacting me in regards to this as I was unable to make my complaint directly to the manager.

I have been to this location four times. The last two times have not been a good experience. I called and made the appointment, I requested 3 times a cut and beard trim. I thought the cut was acceptable until I put my glasses on, the transition between my hair and beard is brutal. The "barber" didn't touch my beard, I have no problem paying for the service but I do expect it to be done properly. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone, I can't speak for the other locations in the city. Now I need to find a barber to fix my hair and complete the beard trim. If not I guess I will be wearing a hat for the next couple of weeks.

lack of customer service that I have received at your store. I work 10 meter away from Tommy Guns Original Barbershop (In South Common ) and I have decided to give it a try. I called repeatedly to take an appointment to get hair cut today. As I have waited for someone to pick up I have eventually gave up and decided to leave my office and go there to book an appointment. As I walked into the establishment the girl that worked at the front (blonde + blue eyes) was most unwelcoming and unfriendly. Did not say Hello how can I help you; didn’t even make eye contact with me. I told her I tried calling I work couple of feet’s away and I would like to get a haircut. She explained bluntly that they don’t take appointments its walk in basis only. So I told her can you put my name on the list and let me know what it is my turn so I can just leave my office and come. RUDLY she explained that if I’m too busy to pick up the phone what makes you think I will call you ? WOW. SHOCKING. Definitely lacks customer service skills and just basic social skills. You can’t justify not doing your job because the store is too busy. YOU CAN’T JUSTIFY NOT TAKING 30 SECONDS OF YOUR “BUSY” JOB to call a customer that works 10 meters away from you. I DON’T UNDERSTAND how a “receptionist “ could be that buys to the point she can’t make a 10 second phone call? what is she running the ministry, HOW CAN YOU BE THAT INCOMPETENT AT DOING THEIR JOB AND THAT RUDE? MAYBE THEY SHOULD HIRE BASED ON SKILLS INSTEAD OF LOOKS. VERY DISSAPOINTING, the reality is a bad word will move faster than a good word.

I am a regular customer at the Windermere store. They were booked up and they referred me to the Southgate store.The staff were friendly, helpful, I did not have to wait long to get my hair cut. Very dissatisfied with the way my appointment was handled today. I was on the list for 5:30 and I showed up at 5:30 on the dot. Now understandably I was told to wait for an open barber, and I did. Little did I know I would be waiting for 50 minutes after I checked in. While it was a busy day, I saw 4 people pay and leave while 3 people checked in after me. When I asked the lady at the counter about it, she said that they checked in before me while I knew they arrived after me. I was told a barber would be available in 5 to 10 minutes three different times. I waited 50 minutes for a haircut while others that checked in behind me waited for 10-15 minutes. Ridiculous. While the employees were kind, the lady at the counter overlooked everything.

I got my face shaved. The person was ripping my face off. When i told them to be more gentle they said that was as gentle as they can be and it was my faces fault as if i had not have had my face shaved 1000 times by other barbers and they were fine. It was a person of color shaving me and i got the strong feeling they were hurting me on purpose because I am a white person who is also a male and they feel i wronged them somehow even though i descend from a European background. What an absolute joke this location is. Not sure about other locations but if you like sitting around and waiting 30 minutes for a 10 minute cut from girls who just came out of school but charge like high-end salons then this is definitely your place. I'm definitely not fussy about hair but it's just unbelievable how much worse it's gotten in the past 12 months. Have actually been a customer for around 3+ years! I'm glad they appreciate the loyalty. Oh wait, not even remotely. Divine Hair is only 5 minutes away and is infinitely better than this place. The last remotely decent review... 7 months old. Take your hard earned dollars to any place else - they clearly don't care enough to maintain a minimum level here.

Over the past year I had changed haircut associates four times until I went to Tommy Gunns out of convenience because I needed a haircut fast It was that day that I had Teagan not only give me my favourite haircut I've ever had but also talk superheroes of me for 30 minutes and making me actually enjoy getting a haircut. Like any, and ALL barbershops in the world, mistakes happen. It is how the establishment deals with the errors are what truly defines them. Tommy Guns South Common treats me and my son amazingly each and every time we visit. I truly have no idea where some of these reviews are coming from as I drive 40 mins just to get cuts, and have been since it opened. I have forgotten any questionable experiences due to the great after service I received. If something outside of your expectations occurs, verbalize it, and allow them to assist in a fix. I decided to try Tommy Guns, seeing that I’ve heard a lot of good things from the service. I was a bit hesitant to start because, I always go to the same stylist but unfortunately they are no longer in the trade. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed by the reception and the stylists. I was professionally introduced to Sara, who was my stylist and her friendly nature made me feel at ease. My haircut came out perfect and the quality and hospitality from the store was impressive. If you’re looking for a new stylist or location I definitely recommend Sara and this Tommy Guns location.

I was there the day this skip the dishes girl who just wrote the review they asked you to move your car because you parked in a handicap parking spot and you saying they are racist and unprofessional, girl you CAME into the business they didn`t go outside to you, you stormed there door and came inside and started throwing punches at the girl at the front and pulling her hair. I've been hunting for a decent barber shop since I've moved to edmonton. I've gone to $20 barbers to $60 salons and haven't been able to find a solid, comfortable, quick cut with consistency. In a wheelchair.Wanted to insure a spot for 11 am Girl informs me they do not take appointments( yet on numerous other times,guys came in after me ) and got served right away.Girl told me that I would have to show up at 9 am and wait .How can I request the stylist I want,when it’s a hit or miss ? Horrible customer service.To retain customers,maybe management needs to rethink their service offerings. Extremely disappointed.

Book online and it says 57 min wait. Confirm it and then show up 5 mins early only to see the wait is still another 53 minutes. Front desk says it's all just approximate however only two people are ahead of me and it'll only be 20 mins. Sit for 45 minutes and then just got up and left. 3rd time in a row this has happened. I'm done.

Did a good job for a kids haircut last time we were in. Listened to the kid and what he wanted, instead of trying to decide for him what he should get. The check in process is easy and smart since we aren’t able to just go and wait or book a traditional appointment. Hairdresser was very friendly and did a good job.

I had my hair cut. Helen did an excellent job and when washing and conditioning my hair, she spent an extra long time on my head massage. Then when complete with styling my hair, Helen then took a hot towel, put it on the back of my neck, wiped it down, and gave it a quick massage. Helen went above and beyond. Went and got a haircut a couple days ago and received the worst haircut of my life. I told the hair dresser I just wanted a trim and showed her the length that I wanted it she agreed and cut double the amount off of the top. Along with deciding she was just going to start to shave the sides off my head. She completely changed the style of the hair I wanted to whatever she wanted along with butchering the hair around my ears. Her english was very poor and am super disappointed in the service i Received from Nerissa.

They gave both my boys great haircuts. We registered in advance so we had no wait. Covid precautions were in place including guidance on where customers need to stand, plexiglass partitions between the chairs, the fridge access and games were shut down, cleaning protocols between customers and all staff wore masks.

I have mixed feelings about this location... I've had negative experiences before which were corrected, and since then everything has been ok, nothing special. Some of the stylists don't seem to take the time to make sure they do a good job. Last couple times I have made it out to my car or back home and noticed they missed a bunch of long hairs on the back of my head. I was also unimpressed when I called june 7th at about 7pm and was told they were totally booked up for the evening even though online it only said about 25 minute wait. I didn't bother to put my name down because I didn't want to be turned away at the door.

I have been getting my haircut here for awhile now and usually always pay the same, I mean you have to enter in all your info before you get a cut meaning they should have a record of your past visits. Right? Anyways I get a buzz on the sides and dont mind Paying the buzz price, but I was charged a full haircut for only the sides being buzzed. To top it off my pop exploded when I opened it. I will not be going back to a tommy guns because I dont like being taken advantage of.

Had a haircut by Malu about two weeks ago. This is usually when my hair starts getting messy and the cow-lick comes back. It still looks great! I’m so happy with this hair cut. I have had maybe 10 cuts done at Edmonton South Common. A couple of them really good cuts where the stylist listens and really works hard to make one look good. The other few were just mediocre rush jobs and one very horrendous cut. I went to this place because I find it annoying to book haircut weeks in advance and hoped that this place could at least listen to what I wanted and give me average to decent haircuts. After the worst haircut of my life, one which the dresser didn't listen to a word of what I asked and proceeded to butcher my hair in about 7 minutes or less, I will have a hard time going back to this place. The atmosphere and staff are friendly and do make you feel comfortable. One can also receive good cuts here, but you can also receive the worst haircut of your life here as well. If you do go to this place be very selective on who you let cut your hair, as I learned the hard way. By selective, I mean not the middle aged blonde lady who seems over anxious to get you out of her chair after the first second you sit in the chair.

I've gone here for quite some time now. Always thought it was great but that's recently changed. The past two times I've been in, including today, have not been great. The one thing I really look forward to is the scalp massage that's included. Past two times, I've had the same guy cut my hair and no scalp massage. I have no problem paying the extra bit but I might as well go back to my old hairdresser and pay the $23 instead. I expect what is advertised.

Been going here for awhile. It is very hit and miss. A couple of the girls are great but my most recent experience was lacking along with a few others. Between the indifferent conversation to half hearted effort and yanking on my neck when drying hair and dropping me back on sink because not paying attention I am overall unimpressed. I won't see her again and running out of chances. Getting a good haircut is easy for me. Getting a great one is a challenge here.
