First impression is a bit of a dive, but not necessarily in a bad way. Barber did not talk much but he was very understanding of what I wanted done, incredibly quick and had a great attention to detail. It was unfairly inexpensive, nobody should pay less than $30 for the quality of service provided, I tipped an extra $10.

The next best guy I know is in Vancouver. Erwin has been cutting hair for almost 50 YEARS. He’s got great experience and just an awesome guy to talk to. He’s very personable and loves barbering. There are probably barbers that are better but for this cost? Nope.

Yeah, the place isn't gorgeous but I didn't go there for the décor, I went for a haircut. Erwin has been cutting hair for so long that he recognizes people by their hair. Wear a hat and he won't recognize you. Haircut was awesome and the price was reasonable. ($16). He also cut my hair the good old fashioned way, with scissors. Imagine that.

Irwin has been barbering for close to fifty years. They don't have barber schools anymore, but that's where he learned his craft. He speaks many languages, including those bizarre African ones with clicks. He's a no nonsense barber who gets the job done with the utmost professionalism. Just don't call him a hairdresser.

This shop offers incredible value for a haircut. The skill and experience Erwin has is beyond what you would expect for the price. He often has novice barbers accompany him so be prepared to take extra time to get your haircut done as they are learning and consult Erwin if they have questions. I moved here two years ago for undergrad and have since tried various barber shops around the city. To my dismay, none of them worked out. Then I met Irvin at Sweeney Todd's. Irvin has fifty years of barbering experience under his belt, charges reasonably ($16) and is a friendly and easy-going person. And I have to say, he's perhaps one of the most skilled barber in the city. I wouldn't ever get haircuts anywhere else.

I have been going to Edwin at Sweeney Todd's in Edmonton for the last year. I drive 30 minutes to get there. He is far and away the best barber I have ever been to and the price is good. He remembers how you like your hair and delivers the same perfect job time after time. There are often lineups but he allows you to sign your name in a book and come back later and not lose your place in order. Ask him about the African music he plays, or the eco-friendly house he is building. A very interesting craftsman.

Never been to a barber in Edmonton before, and I was very skeptical, but if you're looking for a great cut at a very modest price ($16, $20 with tip,) this is the place to go. Erwin is a very friendly gentleman who knows exactly what he's doing. Call a cut and he will provide. Went in with no appointment and was out of there in 30 minutes. That being said, it isn't a place to go if you want pretty decor... But that's not what a barbershop is about. It's about a great cut with great service. Would recommend highly to anyone. After moving to Edmonton almost seven years ago, I found it nearly impossible to find a place to get a haircut that didn't use the "production assembly line" style of haircutting. Even after explaining to the barber / hairdresser how I like to have my hair cut, I would walk out with something that just wasn't what I wanted. After 2 years of messing up my beard trimming by doing it on my own I decided to stop by this place on my way home from work one day. I had read some decent reviews about it but always decided to keep my money and do the trimming myself. Friends let me tell you, they had me sorted out in 20 min, hair cut and beard trimmed, for less than I paid for my last haircut alone. The hair cut was top notch and my beard looked fantastic after and it isn't the easiest beard to work with. My only regret is all the time I've spent with my beard looking like garbage trying to save money that I wouldn't have spent anyway if I had just gone here in the first place. Thanks Erwin, or Irwin, it has to be close to one of those. I will find out for sure when I go back.

Irvine was extremely friendly and he listened carefully to me in order to cut my hair as I the way I wanted it to be (although my english is not good, it’s kinda hard to describe but I showed him my pictures). This is the place I have gotten my hair cut since I was 4 years old(35years). I have tried going to trendy spots when I can’t make it downtown and quickly learn my lesson. Other places take twice as long and cost twice as much and can’t do anywhere near the job Erwin does. Erwin is a master and I have been referring everyone I know for my whole life. If you wax your eyebrows, get manicures and want your hair cut by some prissy pre madonna chick that watches kim karashian and listens to gaga and beiber then this isnt the place for you. if you have hair on your chest, a beard on your face and any of the following: t-tops on your car smoke cigarettes no doors on your jeep you hunt animals your favorite color is plaid you have 2 wives own more than 3 guns then this is the place to get a real man's hair cut. erwin is awesome as hell. go there.
