My first time visiting this barbershop.. his dedication to perfection is outstanding. He takes the time to really offer satisfaction. I'm slightly disappointed in the "cash only" policy. It's not posted on anything, making me go to a shop around the corner to get cash. The withdrawal fee is only 2 bucks, but I'd rather know this before I walk inside. Overall, he is passionate about his career and is completely professional. I'd go back (with cash)

He was a gentleman and very courteous. I am hard of hearing and wear cochlear implants with a slight balding, so when I asked him to cut my hair short, he suggested he leave the top longer and the sides short and he said it in the most respectful and nicest way possible. He accomodated the fact that both I had to take off my implants rendering me unable to hear him and that he had to make sure the sides were long enough that the hair could bend when the magnet goes on. Good service for a reasonable price. I reccomend this place for anyone who wants a good haircut with someone who will try to be as respectful as possible.

Excellent no-frills classic barber shop. Kelly is also very good with kids - he charges a little more for kids cuts than the typical stripmall chain hairstylist, but definitely worth it for the better quality and service. Bring cash though. No debit or credit as of writing this review.

Literally the best haircut I have had in my life. Not only was it the best quality haircut I've ever gotten in over 30 years but it was also done pretty quickly. Kelly, the owner, deserves all the customers he can get. Very nice guy that you can tell takes care to be the best at his trade. Your odds of finding somewhere better are basically 0, so quit searching and give him a call.

My old barber had closed. I decided to support local and thought "I'm balding anyways how can you mess up my hair more than it already is." he did the opposite, he made it look really nice. This is honestly the best place to get your hair cut done. I cannot day that's its 10 dollars but I always give him an extra 5 to make sure that he stays in Sydney Mines. It's people like him who take a chance and are really great at their job that make you appreciate your home town a little more.

The usual barbershop experience is a bit too "bro" for me, and the usual Hair Stylist experience is a bit too lush for me so Stan's Barber Shop on 118th is a really wonderful option for getting my hair cut. Don't let the simple name of this shop fool you, the haircuts you get here are absolutely stellar. You will not be disappointed! I have black thick and straight hair which is difficult to cut, but Kelly cut and styled it so well like an old pro without using a reference. Absolutely unbeatable price for a haircut. Kelly was friendly and professional, and wasted no time at all in giving me exactly what I needed. Very pleased. Like a proper barbershop, first through the door is first to get their hair cut. Cash only establishment, but there is an ATM three doors down if one needs. Really appreciated that it was the same price for a cut regardless of who walked in - so long as the hair is relatively short the gender doesn't matter. Not super detailed, but nonetheless efficient and exceptional quality.

The man cuts good hair. Period. There's 3 seats for those who have to wait in line. It's Small, the magazines aren't really the greatest. Not much too look at..... BUT. The Dialogue is incredible. I remember I moved out of Edmonton for a year. Came back to Kelly , and he retains information very well that he pretty much picked up the conversation from our last talk. He remembers key things even if you aren't the most frequent character. The Guy is a shining example of 118 proprietorship. I'm sure there is many owners on the avenue that have great customer relations . But this is by far my fave. Keep it up my friend

A barber was always somewhere I would drop in when I needed a haircut. These days when you have to plan ahead I made a appointment at Stans for the first time. I must say in 60+ years it’s the best haircut I ever had. It even included a hot lather neck shave. When he tried to charge me a price that seemed way to low I added a 300% tip and still felt I got a bargain. I will be back.
