I used to rank or rate this Barber at 5 stars. Visiting every two weeks while I was in the city for haircuts and beard trims. I went to this location because I knew their protocol before the pandemic. I was surprised to see their protocol after. Masks only. No sterilization. Staff openly eating touching face register then client. I was quite disappointed and disgusted. Had to laugh tho that they can do all that but NO they wouldn't stamp the customer loyalty card. No need I won't be needing that free cut.

Updated: June 2021, 5 to 3 stars. Last two times, my appointment meant nothing. I booked online, received my confirmation email, and showed up to find they didn't seem to have a record of it, and could not honor it, even after showing them the email. I still like the cuts and the staff, but I'm not interested in cooling my heels every time I show up on time. That is the implied agreement in "appointment". They're clearly taking walk-ins over appointments. I liked the barber I met my first visit, I stick with him. I definitely see sharp cuts in the other chairs, too. I can get cheaper cuts, but not by much, and I won't get the style or attention to detail, which is fantastic.

Came in with my husband for his haircut, beard trim/ darkener, and detox facial. I made the appointment for 6 groomsmen for the day of the wedding. I was happy that the barber took all of my request for my husband's haircut and beard shaping (I don't usually come in to control how my husband looks except on special occasions). When I saw my husband after his services I was so excited to see the barber did everything I asked for and it looked exactly like the picture I showed (I didn't stay so he did everything from memory). I'm impressed with the service and would highly recommend this barber shop.

Came here few times and went to the same barber every time named Hassan. LITTARLLY can do anything you ask. Very respectful and knows what's best for your hair. As for the environment they were able to do a nice blend between modern and vintage which made the scenery very refreshing. The staff members are all caring and always makes you feel at home, PLUS you get a free drink at the end of your service which is a bonus for me.

Worst customer service ever, they don’t know how to attend customers at all. I would have given 0 stars. They treat you like they are doing you the favour by providing an overpriced haircut. They are busy in watching TV or listening music while attending you. No welcome on entering the store. The person at reception desk doesn’t want you to come to the desk and talk to him. They expect you to enter the store sit on the chair, wait for the next barber available, get the haircut, pay hefty amount + tip and then leave the store. Don’t get betrayed by the looks of this store. There are better and cheaper barber shops around the area. I expect better service for $40 (price+tip) P.S. - Haircuts are only what they know, not what you want

I was very surprised and pleased by all the great customer service that was offered and a great haircut and eyebrow trim with a cheek shave. went in for a simple Buzz cut. Atmosphere, and staff were good, haircut was good. however the prices they charge are insane. it was 30$ for a simple buzz cut, when i went to pay the machine gave me the option of either a 20%, 30% or 40%, or no tip at all...very expensive, everything including drinks (pop, water, ect.) have large markups. if you are seeking a cut for under 25$ go elsewhere.

I’ve found my barbershop. I’ve been searching for a good barbershop in the city for years now. I’ve had haircuts from a few of the guys here and I’ve never been disappointed. Dri is my go-to guy, as I’ve gotten some of the best haircuts I’ve ever had from him. Cannot fault the service here at all. They even give you a pop before you leave.

I've been going here for half a year now and have been served by Dri every time. Fantastic service, quick and excellent hair cuts. All for a reasonable price. A great environment and the staff seem to enjoy themselves. I can't recommend this place highly enough for your regular hair and beard needs.

Went to see next available barber and, was told to wait for a specific male who could cut medium length hair. Simple trim took over 1 hour as many went in front of me to see other barbers; amature shop. Walked out paying more than sign says (took him just as long to cut as a short haircut which takes more precission). Came home to discover hairs lopsided - not returning to even get fixed as their a bunch of rookies.

These guys are professional and do not skimp on the service. I had my beard cleaned up, and the gray hairs stained to a rich dark brown. They accommodated my brother's wedding party early September, first thing in the morning, with more than enough chairs to maintain proper distancing. All 6 of us were cleaned up and on our way to the ceremony in no time. I was very pleased at the longevity of the cut and the beard stain, which stayed prominent over the next month. 10/10 would recommend and return.

Uneven cut, dropped comb and just rinsed it off (no cleaner) felt like barber was in a race to get me out of the chair. Wasn't offered any product afterwards either, just there you go. No social distancing protocols were in effect. All barbers and customers all hunched up together with less than a meter apart. Barbers were barely wearing their masks as well. Maybe my barber was having a bad day but he was really rough and careless during my haircut. Edit: My experience was a day before the recent shutdown

Found this place about a year ago, pleasant experience every time. All the barbers here give quality cuts in a timely fashion. Friendly greeting & great communication. Have tried other places in a pinch & regretted it instantly. Doesn’t compare. Anything you want this shop will provide. I get a zero fade. Take my boys here as well & it’s one of their favourite places to go. My oldest son gets highlights with his cut & my youngest just recently got a perm. Surprised they offer this service & how well it turned out. Both happy with their results. Well worth the money & time spent out of the house. Thank you & keep up the good work.

What can I say. I walked in for the first time trying to make eye contact with the 5 Barbers working at that time. Not one of them even acknowledge my arrival or greeted me. I stood there for 5 minutes then decided to leave. Staff did not make me feel welcome. Kept their heads down like nobody is there. That is not how to treated customers especially for first time visit. Does not recommend this place to anybody. Edit.. I do not need to check in with your POS system to get a hair cut. I simply walked in. Stop using the generic answer to everyone who gives your business an honest experience. How about you start training your employees customer service skills rather than brushing off any negative comments.

When this location first opened it was great and my son and I went there for regular cuts but over the course of the summer it seems the have gone steeply downhill. Not sure if covid related but the last 2 times my son and I were there we had our hair cut by people who I am very doubtful have any education in this field... Knowing what I know now I wouldn't trust them to groom a hairless cat... It was good while it lasted but I will now move on and I will inform the many local people I know to do the same

Great fades and amazing and friendly service! These guys are my go to place ever since I've moved southside- the barbers know what they're doing and their hours are unbelievable! Whenever I arrive, I'm always greeted by smiling faces, they always have a barber available and lots of chairs so I've never had to wait long ever. It's a very clean shop and you can tell the barbers are all well trained professionals. I always come out feeling fresh and they're very down to earth and reasonably priced unlike some of the other more pretentious places I've visited. Highly recommend if you're looking for a clean cut or nice fade!

I had an appointment today at 3pm with a specific barber. In summary, he was running late and 30 minutes later he was still with another client taking photos. When he finished, he went to the back and did not come to see about my appointment or anything so I went to the front to find out what was happening. As I was talking, I saw him and asked when he’d be doing my haircut - his exact words were “GO THEN…LEAVE” with a serious attitude and a disregard for the fact I’d waited and was just asking when my cut would be. Another barber apologized for him and Tristen ended up doing a great job with my hair but I’m not sure if I’ll return after being treated that way by the original barber I’d scheduled with. The fact that I waited and was just trying to find out if I was next and being told to leave for asking...there’s many barber shops in the area, best of luck keeping clients.

I’ve come here twice now. The first time I had Leo and had lots of compliments on my haircut. I loved the way I looked right out the door. I had gone to a different mr barber previously and had no complaints. My current visit wasn’t as good. I’m not sure who I had this time. He was very professional and I have no complaints regarding his customer service. I was also in the chair quicker than usual which was nice. Everyone is always friendly there and I will still return. I feel bad for complaining but I didn’t have contacts in when I was there and it wasn’t until I got in the car and my girlfriend said “What did you do!?” that I realized something was wrong. The side of my head was bleeding, that’s ok. It happens. I’m not phased. Then I got home and realized my hair wasn’t as blended at the top as it was on my previous visit. It feels a bit silly. I’m not even sure it’s repairable so I’ll just have to wait and see. I guess it depends who you get, I’ll just make sure to ask for Leo next time. No offence to anyone else there - you’re all great guys who put out excellent quality work. Maybe my guy was having an off day. Don’t let my review deter you from going here - they’re awesome. I just feel silly for a month. I’m POSITIVE he would have tried to fix it if I had known I was unhappy with something before I left but it had already taken a lot of time and I wasn’t aware until later. Edit: they reached out to me the same day to resolve the issue. Outstanding service

In all honesty; these are such hard times and in this particular matter; I have utmost respect for those who come out and put there hard work even when customers are unforgiving and are paranoid about Stamp cards or an OCD level of expectations: I see everyone at Mr Barber is well aware of Alberta Health protocols and I am one to notice as well that they do go above and beyond in all they do. I believe as a community we have a great level of respect and a better understanding of one another then to nitpick at matters that we could all potentially be affected by. Having said this I have not witnessed any issues or problems at Mr. Barber. They are understanding and communicate very well. They are the kind of folks that if you do see something you don’t feel comfortable with you could kindly advise them; and I assure you as I have done it before they will respond and take immediate actions to better suit any client as long as it’s a realistic request. This is what I have personally seen and I want to send a special thanks to all Mr Barber staff and Sam who spearheads the Heritage Valley location. Had one of the worst haircuts of my life unfortunately. The barber didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing at all. He kept asking another barber for instructions. But my haircut is the simplest cut. I’ve had the same cut for 10 years. You should know how to fade with clippers if I’m going to pay $30 for the haircut. Never going back. The manager knew I was mad but continued to tell me “it looked good” to try and save face.
