Honestly the best haircut I've gotten. When I sat down in the chair the girl asked me what I wanted. She listened and then did exactly what I asked for. She was quick without being sloppy, and obviously knew what she was doing. There was no awkward haircut small talk. I've gotten worse haircuts for double what this place charges. So I was very, very impressed. I highly recommend this place.

After having tried a lot of salons in Edmonton I finally went to the Barber on Whyte on my friends recommendation. It definitely is one of the best places to get a haircut for men. It isn't as expensive and you get a quick and very professional haircut minus the small talk. Amazing experience. Highly recommended for men.

The barbers here have always given me exactly what I've asked for in a haircut and respected my preference to not talk too much during the cut. I would give their shop 5 stars if they opened at a more consistent time on Saturdays (the only real day I can get a haircut), there is almost always a 5-10min standing outside if you get there at their advertised opening hours. In the summer it's not an issue but, as you can imagine, it becomes less bearable in the cold of winter.

I have been there a few times. Every time there were hair left uncut. Gentleman always seems to be in rush. He never double checks once trimmer is passed an area. This time my side burns are slanted. When I told the barber about that, he said it just looks that way in the mirror. Seriously! Anyway, I wont be going there again.

I’ve gone to this guy for years on and off. I don’t think he even knows my name. He barely touched my 14 year old boy pubes on my chin with his clipper and charged me an extra $12. NEVER AGAIN. I WILL NEVER PAY $30 for the fastest haircut in my life and a touch up of a non existent beard. Basically charging me what he would charge someone with an actual beard. That’s crazy. This haircut was max 8 minutes. 8 minutes for a haircut I repeat. If you want someone who takes their time, has people skills, will remember your name and give good customer service do not go here.

I have been searching for that right barber who does what I want and not what that barber likes my hair to be like. After visiting many places , Barber on whyte is by far the best! She did an excellent job on how I wanted my hairstyle to look like . She listened patiently to everything that I said and quickly started to do that wonder on my hair. The pricing is around 23-24 dollars which is very very reasonable for the work she does.I am very happy and satisfied with her work. I have finally found my go to barber in Edmonton. ⭐. A small shop with excellent service. You may have to wait if it is busy but that is hardly an issue. The hair cuts are quick, clean, and service overall is worth the price, especially when most other places charge more for less satisfactory cuts. If you're looking for a quick cut, these guys have your back. The quality is solid, too, but I can't justify 5 stars because I've had a few cuts that were off. Now, mind you, I have ridiculous hair and you likely won't have a bad cut. Honestly, try them out, the price is solid, the people are nice, and for what they charge, you won't find a better value. Promise.

Lots of people don't want to talk, some do. Work with the customer... If they don't want to talk, don't talk, but if they do, be courteous enough to at least respond. The haircut was okay, not what I asked for, but it looked okay. I'd go back again, but I will probably look elsewhere first. Addendum: Using COVID-19 as a response to my review from 2 months ago is at the very least disappointing. At the time of my visit to your establishment social distancing had not been put into place. If you don't like a review, or if you feel that it's in error then say so. Don't use a pandemic to justify a bad haircut and an even worse attitude.

Walked in not knowing what I wanted and I received an efficient and precision haircut. If you’re looking for an old school barber experience (conversational but not overly chatty) that still meets today’s hair style expectations, this is the place. Also, points for cleanliness, comfy waiting area, and sports on the TV.

Don't waste your time and money with the pricy hair salons (unless you really can't wash your own hair), and go get the best haircut you've ever had at Barber on Whyte. Try and go at obscure times to avoid the potentially lengthy wait to get in the chair. Also, if needed, there's free parking one block north of Whyte on 83rd ave.

One grandson (20 yrs) going there now too and he is of the same opinion. Fortunate to have a barbershop of such quality in the city. And I am not a relative or friend. First time I met them was when I attended the shop on the recommendation of a friend. Also prices are very reasonable. Personally I would be prepared to pay more.

Hands down, my favourite barber shop in town. Classic no-nonsense men's barbershop - service is always super friendly, my cuts are always done really well and they almost always get it done pretty quickly (minus the odd wait time, but never anything serious). It's walk-in only, so no need to make an appointment. Most importantly - the price! You won't get a better rate for this kind of quality haircut. Highly recommended.

This place has decent haircuts but not stellar. Very limited forms of payment – who does not even accept credit or tap these days? Never will go back this place again. Also, this place has a very rude and confrontational owner. They would have communicated better and not cuss on someone.

Went in there for a haircut today and it was abysmal. I went before the man did an amazing job, good conversation, checking in if he was doing a good job, followed instructions. Today, the lady crammed me into a 15 minute window time slot, when I got in there I asked for a low fade from a 1 to 0.5 (she made it the same all around and it was not even low or a fade just a 1 all over). Next, I asked her at the beginning to just "touch up" the top meaning rather than cut for length, cut to trim and fix up any unevenness. She ignored and said she'd ask about length for later and when she did she grabbed the right size in her fingers cut it and then without asking just kept cutting lower and lower based on her personal taste and completely ignoring what I asked for. Kept answering the phone and leaving to write in her logbook, no conversation, and a horrific haircut that ignored any instruction the customer gave her. After this experience she had the audacity to charge me $27. Time to find a new barber!

It has a good atmosphere and if you'd like a quick haircut and don't really care about it much, go for it. Absolutely will never come back here or recommend this place to anybody. For sure if you're in a pinch, this might be a place, but if you'd want to feel awful till your hair grows back properly, this is the place. My sides were not even aligned, were not blended in together, and so now I have an incomplete and inconsistent haircut. Do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks, and go to a proper shop that will take their time giving you an amazing cut, making you feel your best!

My experience was adequate. I got a decent haircut for a decent price. If you're looking for a place that will give you a standard haircut as quickly as possible this place is for you. If you want a specific hair style and a barber who will take time and care then this is not the place I'd recommend. I recently moved to Edmonton and was looking for a new barber who would give me the haircut I wanted not one that is close enough, or somewhat similar. I am not unhappy with my haircut but neither am I happy. I feel a sense of melancholy about it. I would neither recommend nor would I say anything bad about this place. I can say confidently that Barber on Whyte will not be my go to barber in the future, but they will do in a pinch.

i love this place, great staff, and i always feel welcomed when i stop in. they remember me and how i like my hair, which makes me feel apart of their little family. they also have the best prices i can find without having a student cut my hair. if i had any complaints it would be that sometimes the wait can be a little long, but i feel that speaks to the high demand of the excellent services offered. to cut down on wait times, try going during the week, fridays and saturdays are always busy as heck.

My experience at the Barber on Whyte today was absolutely phenomenal. I showed my barber the hair style I wanted to go for with a couple of photos and he nailed it dead on. He was quick and careful giving me the haircut which was much appreciated. They also are very COVID safe as he wore gloves the entire time and took them off at the end and sanitized his hands before dealing with the payment. 10/10 here and am definitely going back the next time I need a haircut.

However the new stylist from Newfoundland that has been hired recently is not up to par. I've received 2 subpar haircuts from her and I feel she does not have the same quality that I've come to expect from here.
