I was looking for a new barber, and made an appointment with Connor. I explained to him that I was growing my hair out but it wasn't quite where I wanted it yet, I just needed some style put into my hair. I got a great trim and some styling tips, so I left looking great and know how to keep it up. I loved the atmosphere of the shop - too many barbers try to be uber-masculine (sports on TV, pool tables, etc), which I don't like. This shop was minimally and tastefully decorated. All of the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I really enjoyed my visit, and I will definitely be back!

Scheduled an appointment with Robin and was pretty disappointed with the customer service i received. I was on my way to my scheduled appointment when there was a traffic accident on my way to whyte so i was going to be a few mins late. I had the courtesy to call before and notify them i was going to be late because its the right thing to do. One minute later i get a call back and they tell me “if you’re going to be later than 10 mins don't bother coming since it will just waste other peoples time.” Okay... a little rude but whatever i brushed it aside. I came in FIVE minutes late and Robin straight up refused to cut my hair and practically told me because i was five minutes late he cant and i need to reschedule... really?? He sent me out the door because of something that was completely out of my control? In all my years I've never seen that kind of clientele or customer service. Word of advice maybe get some customer service SKILLS before you work in the service industry. Safe to say i wont be coming here again.

This is the place that started the Barbershop trend in Edmonton. It's been emulated and imitated, but not yet replicated — in Edmonton, at least. I've been coming to Barber Ha since it opened in its previous location years ago. At the time it was staffed by two but has since grown to the beast of a shop that it is today. It's locally owned, it has a young (but classic) vibe to it. It's bright and spacious, the staff are sociable, friendly and capable. I've heard some people balk at the idea of female barbers (there are a healthy mix of both genders at Barber Ha), but its 2017, people. If the barber can cut your hair and make interesting conversation, that's really all you need. I can honestly say that I have never received a bad haircut here. Even the apprentices are top of th game (though they may be a bit slower to get the job done). And if you've never received a hot shave in your life, this is the place to do it. It's a full-fledged experience and your face will be as smooth as a baby's bottom on the way out. And it doesn't hurt that the place usually has some kickin' tunes playing to keep a positive vibe.

Barber Ha is one of those awesome places in Edmonton that is the essence of what Edmonton is. Quality, locally owned, consistant, with amazing results. Ive been going there since it opened in King Edward Park and watched it grow. You get trendsetters, young professionals, and established gentleman all under one roof (sometimes having a beer sshhh). I can honestly say I was an 8 before, but after the cut I was undeniably a 10! dont miss the train.

$60 FOR A FADE?!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! Lets get into the history of the "Fade". First time i saw a caesar cut was in the move breaking. Crazy legs from rock steady crew had it an it was tight. I rocked that for a number of years, dax wax, wave brush, dorag. The maintainance was a ritual, but we looked good. Around 88-90 kid and play came out with the High top fade, not to be confused with the straight high top made popular by Cameo. The fade has been a thing for years. Its only been in the last 5 years that people with straight hair have been getting faded. I got my first one in Brooklyn new years eve 1989. It cost me $15 including tip. Go to a black or Lebanese barber shop and you are paying $22. What makes these dudes think that their barber skills are worth $60?!!! 71 BARBERSHOP IN ATLANTA CHARGES $25 FOR A FADE AND THEY DO EVERY PRO ATHLETE IN THE AREAS HAIR. BUS THESE CATS ARE GONNA CHARGE $60?!!!!! GTFOH!!!! Go see Kings barber on 101st, ebony and ivory on stony plain road or the Lebanese guy at whitemud crossing. Forget this other noise. They are selling you an experience not the nicest hair cut youve ever had. F thi ish.

Been there for a couple times but I am really disappointed for my latest visit. Don't go there at the end of the day, they probably won't pay attention to what you want at all. I was looking forward to get a disconnect undercut, I paid $50 for that hoping someone with experience might be able to accomplish this rather complicated haircut. I specified I wanted a disconnect undercut, I wanted the top of my sides and my bangs to stay somewhat long. I even showed him a picture of the haircut I wanted. Honestly, if you delivered something similar to what I wanted, I won't even care if I look like a mushroom with that, cause I asked for it, I take the responsibility. Or you can at least say, you don't recommend this haircut so that I can change my plan to do a side part as usual. However, at the end of the day, I got a buzz cut that has nothing like what I asked for. It looks like something I can get anywhere with $10. I look like a high school kid with that and I'll have to carry this silly thing for the next couple months. Well played

Don't go to Mark!!! He cut into my skin and left a bald spot on the back of my head. The worst thing is that he didn't even tell me about it as it was really obvious. I only found out when I got home. So much for charging $50 bucks for a cut. But the rest of the staff are good and friendly and never had a bad experience with them.

To be honest, I'm not the type of person who usually writes reviews, even for the books I love most or the places I've been shopping at for years. If you count on these reviews for guidance, don't forget this: you see the odd abysmal rating on these review sites by someone who admits to coming in once (statistically, considering how many customers they have, someone has to have their rare disappointing experience or haircut on their first visit), but you don't see the couple hundred original Legion members like I do who started coming to Barber Ha back in the King Edward Park days and are still regularly returning, but who aren't leaving online reviews. So after around 40 stellar haircuts, many parties and dances, two locations, and just over three years of friendship, I feel it'd be wrong not to share my gratitude to the place that has made me look (and often feel) better than I ever have for the past three years. I kind of stumbled upon this place as a happy accident, and was a bit hesitant at first, but soon came eagerly to look forward to my monthly haircut. It wasn't even that they were new, or that they had this hip, casual vibe going on where all five or six people in the store were involved in one big conversation. It wasn't even that they were great at cutting hair -- they were -- but more so that they knew what was cool, what was going to be big coming up, and that they had better judgment for what looked good on you than you did. And that's why what followed came to be known as the "Barber Ha cut." (Although Linda had this obsession for giving me the latest Justin Bieber haircut for about a solid year.) It was also nice to finally be recommended some decent men's hair products and shampoos that previous salons had never impressed me with, allowing me then in my mid-twenties to finally abandon their drug store equivalents from Dove, Axe, and H&S. In the phase where the business really started to take of, I was apprehensive that the business would lose the culture that made it so appealing. The staff grew, yes, and it became more working keeping up with the new faces, but more importantly, it brought in a bunch of new clients who weren't from the original set, who came for other reasons, and who I often witnessed being a bit unreasonable. I must say that Linda, Beth, Mark, et al. did a good job keeping the store standards up without pandering too much or acquiescing to the new clients. I also wondered whether success would change our relationship. It didn't. If you're new to Barber Ha, or you weren't around to see this change, you should know that this is a loyal staff, and if you stick around, they will appreciate it, and treat you with the respect that entails. Have I had one or two haircuts I wasn't thrilled about? Of course. Though mostly my ambiguous descriptions had to do with it. Have I asked for a tea or coffee that didn't show up some of the time? Yeah. But I've also come in when it wasn't too busy and been told that I looked good and didn't need a haircut at the moment (counter to the prevailing wisdom about asking your barber if you need a haircut). I've been invited to join discussions, go to parties, and pick up McDonalds. The online booking is first rate, the Saturday walk-in service is convenient, and the staff -- I've seen strayed from Linda and tried most of them -- have always been helpful and friendly. And that is why I will still go past several closer, less expensive, and newer places on my way to theirs. Not so much a review than a letter of thanks. This is the best barber shop in Edmonton, hands down. I first came here when Linda worked with me on a music video shoot. After she made me look like a superstar (in a very crazy wig, mind you) I knew I needed to see what she could do with my actual hair. After one visit I was hooked. She was fun, friendly, sarcastic in the best possible way and the cut she gave me was complimented by my good friends and even by a few strangers. After Linda wasn't available to book for an appointment, I took a chance and went with Christian who has been doing my hair ever since. The guy is awesome and really gives me some killer cuts. The rest of the staff is awesome and friendly and I have heard no complaints from anyone I know who goes here.

I've been a longtime customer of Barber Ha's and have been extremely satisfied every time. While not the cheapest men's cut and beard trim in the city I have always left feeling like I look my best. Book long in advance or get there early on Saturday for a walk-in. If you're going to roll the dice and go for a walk-in be sure to get there a half hour before open or you'll be waiting while the early risers get their cuts. All of the Barbers there are excellent but most recently I've been getting my cuts from Robin and Brandi and both have done excellent work for me.

My first time with Barber Ha, I got Linda as my stylist. I'm a dude with asian hair and I've always struggled with finding the right barber who could give me a cut that fit me right. Linda has such a warm personality, was very open to hearing my preferences with the way I wanted my hair done, and was quick to understand what I needed. She wasted no time in showing her talents with hair and I got myself a top quality styling job in record time. She made it look so easy making my hair look great. She had to pause at times because we chatted so much but she still got the cut done so fast, it felt like 10 minutes really cuz it was such an experience. I highly recommend Barber Ha especially for people that like to invest in really well-styled hair. I'm pretty sure I've found my go-to barber. Thanks, Linda!

I’d read the good reviews about Barber Ha so I decided to give it a try, and went with Mark (one of the “senior stylists”). The space is nicely-designed and well-situated, and had I gone with another barber I think I would be leaving an entirely different review; unfortunately, my experience with Mark was thoroughly disappointing. Aside from asking “what can I do for you”, there was no conversation at all - I felt like to him I was a head, with hair that needed to be cut, and a body underneath it that was best left forgotten. I even tried to ask him about the shop, and about where he was from, but all I got were a few words in reply, followed by silence. It made for a very awkward thirty minutes. The cut itself was alright but nothing special. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed my sideburns were uneven, which seems somewhat out of keeping with the $50 cost. Perhaps my experience was an anomaly, or perhaps it’s reflective of the attitude that comes when one has attained “senior stylist” status. Regardless, I won’t be returning to Barber Ha.

I have been getting my hair cut at Barber Ha (BH) for about 2-3 years now. I started going there when they were just a tiny hole in the wall in King Edward Park with two chairs and four employees. Now they have a huge studio with approx. 10 chairs and an ever growing staff, which only adds new employees and rarely looses them. When I enter BH now, the energy is enough to keep me going for at least a month, amazing music is always playing and I am always greeted with smiles from friends. I feel like a part of their family and their world. I feel like I get to be a part of the BH culture and Phenomenon. Regardless of which barber I see at BH I always get the best hair cut. My hair is the worst, it is part horse and part evil dictator sought to rule the world and yet the amazing staff at BH always seem to calm my hair, fix my hair, and make my hair manageable. I no longer need to hide in shadows and wear a hat to all public outings. If that isn't enough to go there and get your hair cut you should also know that the owner, Linda, is really funny and always a sight for sore eyes. She make anyones day with her hilarious, sarcastic jokes and her unparalleled beauty. seriously, I will never go anywhere else for my hair.

I went for my first time yesterday and had a very good experience. Christian was the one to cut my hair. He did exactly what I wanted and what I asked of him. He was even giving tips of how my wife could cut my hair (as she is learning). Job well done and professional. UPDATE: refused me service when I was 5 or 10 mins late for an appointment. I went back again later and I had to wait 20+ mins past my appointment time to get a haircut. Would be nice if there was some give and take.

I had heard good things about this barber shop, and the reviews looked great, so I decided walk in on Saturday. Long story short, my beautiful locks were grotesquely butchered by a half-drunk barber who utter the word 'sorry' after completing my haircut. After sporting the freshly skinned beaver that the barber had left me with for a day, I walked down Whyte Ave to Supercuts where a hairstylist Clara smirked, hummed, hawed, and saved my pelt. I will not be returning to Barber Ha; A barber shouldn't wreak of booze or be considered a barber if they feel obligated to say sorry after completing a hair cut. Beware of the funny hat and black fingernails.

I've worn a hat most my life. Almost a year ago I decided to grow my hair out and stop wearing a hat. I have very thick unruly hair that has always been difficult for me. My first visit to barberha was yesterday and I gave Mark Hayes free reign to do whatever he wanted with my hair. I told him I wanted something easy to style during the week for work but long enough to play with on the weekends. Mark gave a me a overview of what he was going to do and then got to work. I am absolutely blown away at the haircut. After he cut my hair he went over some ways to style, blow dry technique, and some tips and tricks. So much more than a haircut. Even though it is an expensive haircut, I feel that I got incredible value for my money. No doubt in my mind that I will only get my haircuts at barberha from now on. Mark Hayes is not a pro. Starting from his working place (it's mess), attitude to his work responsibilities(first of all he should shampoo my head before starting work in case if I have dirty hair or pomada on hair or stuff like that) and ending his work quality. He made a really bad hair cut for 55 dollars. I noticed it when came home and other people said the same. My haircut had several crucial mistakes that can make a junior barber. For example some hair are longer then other on the same area (I am not telling about different areas, like sides and top. It has different length in one area, specially on top). By the way hair cut already fixed by other barber in other place. And he said that my cut was really bad especially for 55 dollars. So it's not only my and my friends opinion, but opinion of professional.

A bit late writing this review but Barber Ha is going downhill fast. I used to be a regular client here but over time it is becoming more clear they care more about catering to their "cool" image than they do to their customers. I have gotten my hair cut here for years and when I came in two minutes late the other day (actually more like ninety seconds) I was turned away with no understanding. I have never been late before. I always tip generously. In fact, out of the dozens of haircuts I have gotten here, my barber has been a few minutes late for about half of them. In addition, the quality of the haircuts here has gone downhill severely and the price point charged means they should be delivering top quality, always. My neckline and sides are more often crooked than not. There seems to be more talking and Instagramming than there is actually paying attention to giving a haircut. This is very different than when I first started going. In the fall of last year, the haircut I received was so bad that I did have to have it fixed. I tried to mention the crookedness and unevenness to my barber when I noticed it in the chair, but they told me it was the angle of the mirror and the lighting and made no changes. When I got home, my girlfriend pointed it out instantly without me having to mention it and told me to get it fixed before I went to work like that. What kind of barber is so arrogant to say it's perfect and that the customer is seeing things? There's no doubt that the owner will respond to this review with some canned "sorry you feel that way, please phone / email me" because they try and keep negative details in private which only serves to benefit them. Every negative review here is like that, but I see my experience echoed in them. If you are looking for a reliable, clean haircut, save yourself the frustrating "cool barber" experience and get a better haircut (at a better price, but I usually add to the tip to compensate) at one of the Lebanese barber shops around the city. There is no reason to go to a place like Barber Ha anymore unless the "cool" image is so important to you.

I took my son here to get a cut by the "senior" stylist thinking if I am paying $50 for a kids cut this dude has to be a hair magician and can give him a style to awe about- wow was I wrong. Not only did he cut my son's skin with his razor twice, he definitely was not qualified to give the type of cut we wanted. My son's hair looks terrible. I had to take him today to a friend to try and have her fix this mess. For a $50 cut regardless if he is 8 or 50 - it should be clean and blood free. Don't waste your time going here. There are much better "barbers/stylist" who take pride in their work. What a disaster!

I called 30mins prior to my arrival to see if there were appointments available. I was informed only walk ins are available, but was assured if I arrived at 2:30ish, I’d be able to get in. To my surprise when I arrived, I was turned away because they were in fact “fully booked” for the day. I understand this is the reality of walk ins however the reception staff should be properly informing their customers so they don’t waste 30mins to commute across town, and pay for parking just to be told “sorry we are fully booked”. From my standpoint there was very little effort to explore options, just an immediate “nothing we can do” type of response. Extremely disappointed in their level of customer experience.

My dear Barber Ha, What can't I say about you? This is a place where I look forward to coming-- at times I wish my hair grows faster just to ensure I can laugh and joke with the staff. I first started going to Barber Ha when they moved to Whyte ave, and ever since I've been going and unless I stop having hair I doubt I'll stop going. Was a regular client here, was... Don't be late for an appointment, otherwise you'll be sent away without any sort of attempt to remedy the situation. I'd hate to see anyone else drive 40 min for a haircut and be turned away. I admit I was late, but if I had been asked to wait for few minutes instead of told to go home I wouldn't be here writing this review. Don't be fooled, Linda did a great job selling the whole laid back unpretentious "barber" shtick, but that’s all it is. I've heard the expression about not burning bridges on the way up but never actually seen anyone do it. I guess there is first time for everything. Best of luck with the restaurant business Linda, one piece of advice make sure you accommodate the regulars; they will bring you more business and spend a little more for good customer service.

When I think of Barber Ha I think of Mark, the beard and hair artisan akin to only Michelangelo, if Michelangelo was a sick, beauty, legend; appearing to chisel my look from marble. Mark is the whole package, strong and silent (if you want). He's there to listen if you want to talk, otherwise he is laser focused, giving you the best beard trim and hair cut this side of the Mississippi. He is proud and free like a bald eagle but instead of razor sharp talons he has razor sharp talent. He is a cut above the rest and should be recognized as such. Mark is the only one I will see for my beard and hair needs as he is the artist I trust on my blank canvas.

First time here on a Saturday. I had an appointment with Brittni at 10 am when they open. I found out she is the only one who takes Saturday appointments otherwise it's a walk-in style. The line-up was all the way down the stairs, down the hall and close to the door. Very impressive to say the least. A cool vibe in the shop, very laid back and enjoyable setting. Brittni was awesome, she nailed the style and was very accommodating to my awkwardness when words weren't working from my mouth, Saturday mornings are not my best and brightest. I will be back!

Atmosphere is more like a good tattoo parlor, relaxed, great staff, good music in the background. Over the last few years I've had the pleasure of trying many of their services: standard cuts (high, tight), semi-faded sides with the top long enough to braid, beard trim and shape, and a proper hot/cold towel shave. From a guys perspective perhaps it's a bit odd to say, but I find its a nice treat (spa like, except at a great barbershop). Went there to get my hair cut fixed, and I've been hooked since. Barber Ha is my go to shop in Edmonton.
