Someone answered ( wasn't an automated message) and said ' Thank you for calling cash Canada we are closed , please call back tomorrow after 10 am' . Ok but if you're closed at 6 pm instead of 8 pm like both your website and google say, then you should update both to reflect that otherwise people are being mislead.

They pay for items the first payments for you when you borrow which is nice cause sometimes you dont have enough for items and this way you can make payments and its awesome k owing that they are affordable.

Don't fall for all the obviously fake five star reviews...this is an absolutely horrible place. One of the worst businesses I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I showed up one evening twenty minutes before they were supposed to close only to find they had already locked the door. It was a total waste of my time and gas. Businesses have posted hours and they need to honour them. The next incident was when I went in to pick up a couple items. There was a long line. I was annoyed at having to wait but I understand businesses can get busy. However they seemed to have a lot of employees that were not helping customers. One woman was sitting at her till just basically doing nothing for several minutes before disappearing into the back. Meanwhile...people were coming in and skipping the line. They would walk past and pretend to be browsing and then jump the line. Twenty minutes and the line had not moved at all, three people had jumped the line and I was losing patience. I went to speak to the assistant manager who was still dealing with the same customer from when I walked in. I pointed out that people were skipping the line and he just got annoyed at me and told me "that's the way it is"! I got annoyed and told him that they needed to be helping the people who were waiting in line. He just said that yelling at him wasn't going to accomplish anything and that I was just holding the line up even more. For one...my voiced was raised out of frustration but I was hardly yelling and two...how do you hold up a line that isn't even moving?! Anyway...nearly an hour after arriving I made it to the counter only to discover that they don't let customers use MasterCard to claim pawned items. They don't let you use credit to pay off credit. Why? What business is it of theirs how I pay to retrieve my pawned items? Except that it must save them money on credit card fees. I told them that was ridiculous and again the assistant manager accused me of yelling at him. He told me it was policy and I should go to an ATM and get a cash advance on my card. Obviously I had no choice despite being charged nearly $10 in fees for doing so. So I basically still used my credit card only I had to pony up the fees from the ATM company and my bank because Cash Canada doesn't want to pay so their customers can use their cards. Bottom line it took me nearly an hour and cost me cash advance fees on MasterCard to retrieve my stuff. At least the woman that was serving me was polite, friendly and seemed genuinely apologetic. The assistant manager however was a total jerk who didn't seem to care at all about me or any of the other people in the line. I will never be back to Cash Canada and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. There are plenty of better pawn shops in the city.

I made payments on an item on layaway and always paid extension fees on items I couldn't take back out right away. One day, end of May, I was told by a new employee I was all caught up and only had to return June 28. Today, June 15, we went in to pick up the layaway item only to discover it was no longer available and put back out on the floor. Due to new employee error, we were misinformed that we were caught up until end of June, which was not the case. No beef against new employee....he is still in the learning stages. The manager, however, is a different story. Quite the d-bag. Manager Colin claims he called us 6 days in a row and left voice messages to inform us we were late on payments. He stood and argued with us about it. Funny thing is, after checking phone records, not a single call was made to the number on file and we aren't set up for voice mail. So why lie to us, Colin? BBB and head office has now been contacted. Don't pawn your items here. It's been a hassle since day one, and the employees are great people, which is why I always came back. However, the manager needs to learn to accept his mistakes and not lie.

Just purchased a socket, when i tried to pay by my credit card for $6, they ask for the ID. Why do you need ID for a $6 dollar purchase. I used my debit card instead. They charged $0.50 for a surcharge because they said the Moneris (debit card company) charged. Then i phone the Moneris to confirm, Moneris said they only charge $0.02 for each debit transactions, and the company is suppose to cover the fee. RIPPED OFF!!!!!! I guess you can enjoy to pay the fake google reviews!!

I went there to pawn my phone which i have for a year or more. I got there at4: 30 got in the door, and after waiting fo 25 minutes when my turn came i got up to the counter and was told oh its 5 o' clock you will have to come back tommorrow. I needed this money quite badly and was very upset acter waitng in the store for half an hour. If i had been out side I would gave understood but I'm inside the store. Not a way to keep repeat customers. Fortunately i was able to go up the street and get my loan with a request to come back which I just may do.

My previous review read, "These guys are great to deal with, nice people and rock solid deals. Five stars." I had to edit that and post this review. That was what I used to think, and had made many oddball purchases here over the years, as well as recommending the store and service to others. Sadly, I am changing my review, not giving recommendations or referrals to Cash Canada in the future, and I will no longer be doing business with them. I had a good, construction grade ladder on layaway at Cash Canada -- not on pawn, a layaway purchase -- and during the COVID19 situation I was unable to make payments when they were closed and was self-isolated for some of the time myself. I had less than thirty dollars left outstanding and was going to pick it up. The ladder was back on the sales floor, I was told that I no longer had any payments credited to my account, and the best they could do was give me thirty dollars off the floor price. I offered to make a final payment of fifty dollars, twenty more than the outstanding balance. but they refused. I had to walk away, since it is ridiculous to pay twice for a ladder. I will buy a ladder somewhere else. As I said, this was not resolved to my satisfaction. They have my payments and I have no ladder. I would rather buy a brand new ladder at RONA than pay Cash Canada twice for a used ladder. So that is what I am doing. Thank you for your time.

Absolutely worst service in my life. Don’t buy anything from this place, the manager doesn’t check his Video games to see if they are properly working, spent hundreds on a video game system only for it to be broken when I got home. I couldn’t even return it the next day. Do yourselves a favour and stay away from this business, they will rip you off and show no remorse.

12/31/2017 this store is the one and only scamming business that I have ever delt with. I made an unfortunate decision to help somebody without ID pawn a small size brand new dishwasher. to my surprize they gave her $5.00 for it, I never thought much about it at the time and she never came back to get me to get it out of pawn .few months later I took my newer IPod Touch along with my I home speaker into pawn and low and behold they gave me $10.00 yes $5 each, the whole time there I was degraded and put down continuously and was accused that I wouldn't pick it up, I have seen so many people come out of that store complaining they only got $5 for there item also. From a customers view why would they complain if you don't pick it up they are only out $5 they turn around and sell it for triple times more then they paid for it....To be treated like that is not fair, its humiliating and embarrassing making it a big deal that a item for $5 wasn't picked up that I'm not trust worthy and barely was given a second chance to pawn an item. So then WHY BE IN THE PAWN BUSINESS, making your customers feel pathetic, lowlife losers oh right so you can rub it in there face. Your number one Scam Artist!!!!! You get SCAMMER OF THE YEAR AWARD
