Excellent way to consolidate, to make payments towards the principle only! CCS negotiated on my behalf to bring down my interest rates to ZERO with all my creditors while I paid off the debt load, that would have taken me 150 years to pay off, accomplished in 4.5 years. Now I am debt free!

Tanis is very professional and friendly. During my appointment she made me feel at ease and made sure to explain all of the available options, as well as what options she would reccommend based on my situation. She didn't make me feel like I was being judged or looked down upon which is what I was worried about when initially going. It was an overwhelming but great experience as it let me know that I do have some options and that there is help available. There is a small fee for starting up and processing payments if you do their debt management plan, but if you have debt where you can't keep up with the payments it's worth it. I don't officially start the plan until December but I will update the review when I'm further in. Honestly if you're in a debt situation and are scared or embarrassed, this place is amazing. It's worth it to book an appointment and at least see what your options are, and there is no fee for a consultation appointment at all. I talked to Josie on the phone to book my appointment with Tanis and she was also amazing, very friendly and patient.

I was extremely anxious going into this process, dealing with finances/creditors/credit ratings isn't high on my list of favorite things to do which is partly how I got myself into the mess I was in. I was expecting to feel judged and put down but my counselor couldn't have been nicer. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I didn't feel looked down on, she gave me a lot of good information to learn how to track a budget and put a plan together for repaying what I owed to the credit card companies and collections agencies. Not only can this be done faster than I thought but my credit history isn't destroyed forever. I've had follow up calls with her since (I don't live in Regina but wanted to meet face to face first) and while I might not go so far as to say it was "fun," it certainly wasn't unpleasant. I feel a restored sense of confidence in myself know that this situation can be fixed and the Credit Counselling Society can help me. I strongly recommend going to them if you need help with your credit, they're extremely knowledgeable and there's no charge for their services.
