If I could give it a worse score I would. Probably one of the worst companies you will ever deal with. Total scumbags and loan sharks. I originally had a car loan through Mitsubishi. without even asking, Rifco (some random loan shark company) bought my loan and since that day it was a nightmare. I think they did every horrible tactic to not only get their money, but also ensure they made your life hell by calling you with verbal threats 20x a day. My next step is a claim with the better business bureau about these cowardly crooks.

Terrible company and customer service. I called to ask them to stop harassing us with calls every. Single. Day and they wouldn’t speak to me. They said it was part of their, “policy.” My husband had already spoken to them about this issue but they refused to stop the calls. Manager wouldn’t even speak to me because I wasn’t on the account. Ridiculous, when I simply asked them to stop calling. A company that has a manager that won’t even get off his a$$ to come and speak to me personally? Perhaps Rifco needs to hire new management and customer service reps that aren’t so useless.

At the beginning of the pandemic I had to take an entire month off work because I got sick. As I was waiting for CERB I had no money coming in, I anticipated that I would likely be late on one of my car payments, so I called Rifco and told them I would not be able to pay one of the payments, the lady on the line said no problem, and asked when I could pay, I estimated a date and we agreed on it. That date came and I paid the car payment in full and continued paying ad normal from then on. Flash forward almost a year and I get an email saying I have a late payment charge needing attention (from the payment mentioned above) I emailed their customer service and informed them I spoke to them and got it figured out and explained why it was late. They never told me I'd still be charged a late fee. When I emailed them they would not budge and insisted I pay the late fee. I've got no help from Rifco and no leniency because of the situation I was in. I figured I do all the proper steps, but no. Absolutely greedy!

I made a payment arrangement due to not being able to work due to covid 19....I made the payment today which was only 2 days late. I used to think this company was decent after I financed with FirstAccess first and they took them over. Although the reps are mostly very helpful and willing to help except a guy named Ryan who is just condicending and has no customer relations skills these guys are thieves. I financed a car in 2017 and they are trying to tell me in 4 years I've paid 3 grand. When they took over 1st access I don't think they transfered balances on some accounts. I know not freekin mine. I have a lawyer and account reviewing now and I'll sue them. Stay away from these sharks. Bit the Reis the company.

Be careful who you want as your dealership. Rifco has a very high intrest rate like 29 % if you dont make your payments they will automatically shut your vehicle off . Its a built-in gps system its used for non payment. They best way to rebuid your credit is through Capital one. After doing this for about 6 months you should have no problem going through a regular dealership. And much better intrest rate. Just the same its another Company that wants your business thats it. If you lose your job they will not help you find a solution..they will always tap into your credit and try to screw you over..I am talking after ten years after the fact...and they vwill not ask for the difference after they sell the car...they ask for double the car value. Be careful when lending..I would not recommend them to my worse enemy.

Been financing my vehicle through Rifco for a couple of years now and have never had a problem. Have never had a problem with them--but then again, my bill is ALWAYS paid on time, so there's that... Also, I have a very reasonable interest rate with them, but that's due to my past excellent payment history. Customer service staff is always friendly and helpful whenever I've been in contact with them.

This is the most disgusting company I have ever dealt with. Christine N would call me threatening to pull my credit every day, sure enough I check and in the last year they have done 5 hard inquiries into my credit. I paid them the final amount of 5500 so I would never have to deal with them again and as a parting gift she pulled my credit again. These are not soft inquiries, these are inquiries looking as if I am applying for credit with them. Do not use this company, I work in auto sales for a large group and none of them use them anymore.

Horrible Service. Payments stopped coming out of my account automatically due to an error on their end. They had the nerve to charge me NSF Fees, when I got the issue properly addressed they tacked on more fees including SkipTrace fees even though my account was had no outstanding balance during that time frame. I addressed these fees with a representative and was guaranteed no more additional services. Recently received a call saying my payment was late but it was made 10 days prior to invoice date, when I requested a summary more unjustified charges were tacked onto my account.

I would suggest working with pretty much any other company under the face of the sun rather than with Rifco if you can at all avoid it.

This company really needs to get it together. I make my payments by e-transfer. This month, I made my payment 5 days early. I received an email the day I made the payment saying that Rifco excepted the payment. The day after my payment date, I received an text message stating that my regular payment wasn't made. I received an email stating that because I made my payment early, it was applied to fees? Thant going forward not to make my payment early.....WTH???????? WOW Rifco!!!!!

Bought a car from them 7 months ago. Everytime I've had an interaction I've been very kind and communicative with the representatives and have had great service and feedback. I had to change a payment date and the lady appreciated me being proactive in payments and changed the dates without a problem, she noted there was no late nsf fees on my file, or any late payments prior. I think communication and service is a two way transaction street. No issues with Rifco thus far! Will update if anything changes but I am pleased with my car, and the service Rifco has provided me. :)

Never had an issue with them before and they offered to help out during Covid for 3 months by cutting my payments in half. Just found out from a dealership that is trying to get me a lower rate and a newer truck that Rifco told them that I had missed payments during Covid. Which is completely untrue and all my payments have been paid on time every month. Only reason I am having to deal with this company is because that’s who the 1st dealership had me with. There is no way to get you out the loan because these lie about your payments to other companies.

Of course if you don't pay your bills you'll get calls, what company would give you a car for free and not care about you paying the loan back? exactly, no company. Rifco cares about its employees and clients and is absolutely top notch in terms of customer service. highly recommended!!

They financed my husband's car when he had bad credit, at 29% interest. It would have taken us 15.6 years to pay off his car at 600$ a month payments, because 77% of that payment was going to paying interest. We paid it off with a line of credit. I highly suggest you ask about the interest rate and how long it would actually take you to pay off your car before signing with them.

Horrible HORRIBLE company to finance through. Terrible interest rates. Some of their staff are ignorant and untrained. If you are hard up for vehicle...your better off using a bus until you get your credit up to par and go with a decent and reputable finance company. We are have made payments in full on our car that we have had for 3 years and will still be paying another 4 or 5 years on a 6 cylinder. We will be trading it in and going with another finance company. I DO NO RECCOMEND RIFCO. Even if you pay in full every month, you will be raked over the coals with their interest rate or incompetent staff.

A friend used me as a reference, every time they phone me its the same excuse 'Oh, we dont know why it phoned you, its an auto dialer, and he's already paid up...' so I finally get fed up and block the number, and now they call me on a new number. Rifco. Customer agent Tracy, was so rude and unprofessional, she continually talks over the customer, argues and hangs up on customers. Supervisor named Tammy is even worse. They are dispatching asherriff to repossess a car from a woman who is terminal with cancer and due to paying for cancer meds, she was short forty dollars and they heartlessly said they would not wait ten days for forty dollars. The woman had to leave her cancer treatment to go home (to another town, hours away),just to be told " look your not our only customer, we are busy and there's nothing special about you. I will give you until closing on Friday to come up with the forty dollars or we dispatch the sherriff." The women gets paid seven days from today but Rifco won't even consider waiting for the forty dollars. This woman has been an excellent customer.

They financed my car when my credit was bad. Had some banking trouble one time when I got a new bank account and called them to make arrangements for a payment to be a week late. They were understanding and didn't ding my credit for it, but then again I have made 4 years of payments otherwise on time. Haven't heard a peep from them. Yes, the interest is high, but that's what happens when you have bad credit and need a sub-prime loan. My credit is building back up and I would probably use them again next time, IF they could give me a better interest rate on the next one.

My father is on phone with them and they refuse to put "Jessica " back on the phone. A lady by the name of "christine N" . About my file with discrepancies that the numbers are wrong. He insisted on a manager and was refused after repeating this for over 10 minutes straight. Never going to deal with Rico again. Was 17,000 and paid almost double and they took it after refusing me to return it when money ran out.. and tried to add $3000 more for repo . I CAN GET A VEHICLE ANYWHERE NOW. Literally anywhere would be better. I have had several auto financing in the past and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I am officially happy to say I’m FINALLY done with Rifco Auto Finance! This is the absolute most WORST company to use for an auto loan. Avoid at ALL cost! Unfortunately, at the time I got my vehicle from the dealership, I had “new” credit and could only get a loan with Rifco .. @ a ridiculously high interest rate. Folks, take the time to establish and or clean up your credit in order to avoid dealing with companies like Rifco. I mean it’s bad enough one has to pay for a car TWICE, but to have to deal with unpleasant and RUDE customer service reps as well, isn’t worth it. P.s. I called in awhile back to get the payout amount only to be given the runaround by an incompetent CSR. The payout amount quoted by the csr was valid for 30 days!! I called in 4 days later asking to get the payout amount sent to me in writing, only to be told by another csr the initial payout amount I was quoted 4 days prior had gone up by $30 despite being told the initial payout amount would be valid for 30 days! Ridiculous!! Long story short after calling back several times and getting hung up on the situation was finally resolved and I received confirmation in writing with initial payout amount. I still went ahead and put a STOP all on the PAP with these crooks, as it’s safe to say this company is definitely out for the money.

Had a good experience with them until I had car crash 2017 always payed visa debit lost my card got a new one and without my authorization they took 500.00 out of my account today after they reposed car 3 months ago so beware of company reported to bank and Better Business Bureau. In B.C they can not take money from your account once they take your car.

Rifco got my loan through first access. This has been horrible experience. I thought first access was bad but Rifco tops the cake. They have the worst customer service, extremely rude, I have made all my payments but Rifco has not reported any of my payments made for the last 6months. They keep telling me they're working on it give it 2weeks and its now going on 7months. They tell me I am late and will be charged NSF fees yet i dont pay them through bank i pay manually and am up to date. You cannot charge NSF if you dont go through a bank. I am trying to trade in and cant because they not reporting, so it just shows i havent made payment 6months. I call to get fixed and they say it will be ok in 2wks. I am trying to build my credit and they are makibg it worse even though i made all payments and i am up to date. Funny how that works lol.. Horrible company, stay away do not recommend anyone going through them. Stay away stay far far away.

Went to one of those shady car dealers and these guys came back as the offering lender. I was told after a year of no missed payments I could lower the 28% interest rate which proved to be impossible. Fast forward 5 years and I still can't get the car paid off because of their interest rates...im paying almost 700 a month for a 9yr old vehicle! After speaking with a rep asking to refinance they said all they could do is submit my account to a supervisor for review and POSSIBLY have the rate reduced my 1%...are you kidding me? What a joke!

Terrible finance company. I knew i had to deal with a high interest rate when getting into the loan, after a vehicle back in 2017 was repo'd. That was all fine, and I was told after a year of solid payments they could drop my interest rate and get my payments down! I thought great! Nope, 2+ years later and I cant get anywhere. They helped me out for one month by lowering my payments to $400 from $600, but only for a month. I will never recommend this company. Avoid it at all costs, even if you desperately need help getting a vehicle due to poor credit.

Rifco started randomly spam calling and texting me. The first time I called back, the representative told me there were issues from when everything switched from FirstAccess to Rifco and it was a glitch in the system. They continued to spam call me, including on weekends, when they arent even open. The second time I called, the representative also had no idea why I was being called. Spamming continued. The third representative told me I owed money. She said I missed a payment AFTER they started spamming me. My bank account doesn't run low and I can see every time they took a payment out. I only checked back a few months, but the payments were steadily coming out. I will be discussing this with anyone I know looking to buy a vehicle. Just buy a cheap vehicle or get a loan from someone else. This company is a constant irritant.

So far so good. They approved me for a great Mercedes Benz. My payments are always paid on time or even before. I spoke to several customer representative since the first signing of my loan and up until now , I have not had any issues or any unnecessary calls for them, they have never called me ever..... my interest rates were discussed and my term of my loan to. I also got a great promotion that once I pay on time I would be offered a lower interest rate. They are also nice if you ask them to skip a payment and usually mail a letter for any extra fees . Good service was way better than eagle bay and eden. Thank you Riftco still enjoying my vehicle

Joke of a company. Have been working in the automotive sales and finance field for a while now, and got myself a car loan through them due to subpar credit. They tacked on $500 worth of hidden fees to my account without any notice whatsoever, and when I called in I spoke with "Samantha", a manager. She was supposed to call me back a month and a half ago, and let me know if she could get anything done. I've since called 3 times and somehow she's never in the office. Buying out my car loan and ensuring that no dealership I ever work at uses this joke of a lender. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS.

I am 20 days late on a payment, and the company took my debit card, like a credit card, and charged my card after I told them they cannot. Theft! A complete stick up. I don't even know how this company operates and how my used car company got me to deal with them. Says even more about the used car company. But if you Miss a payment. they charge you $100 in nsf fee then try again 2 days later not even on your payday which is usually FRIDAYS for most people. Even after you say you can't pay it that day they still withdrawal 2 days later on Thursday just to get more nsfs when you are paid. Ridiculous now have to pay them twice this pay period somehow.

Be VERY careful when they ask to see your bank deposits and want you to sign into your bank account through a link they send you. When I asked for a copy of what they get, I found out they see everything. All of your purchases etc. NOT just your payroll deposits as I was told. If you make a payment arrangement, even though you're following through on it, you get daily calls or emails telling you to call them immediately. Even though the notes are on your file, they still contact you daily - even when you've been making good on your arrangement. Horrid when you're at work- it's harassing. Interest rate is so high that my loan went up, not down. They won't lower it months later. Tried to get into a bigger car because of my family needs. Denied a revamp of my loan to make it happen. Sure, my credit is horrid but I've made good on my payments for 10 months and still can't get ahead. Did I mention the banking info they got? Very sneaky. Not even my family is privy to that kind of info. I don't recommend Rifco. I'm very upset and disappointed. I plan to return the car and use a car sharing program. It's been such an awful experience.

I wish I could leave a 0 star review. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. The staff is unprofessional the interest rate is crippling and they are not willing to negotiate at all. When I originally took the loan I was told in 10 months of on time payments I would be able to receive a lower interest rate thar was a scam as I have had 3 years of on time payments. I was laid off due to covid and requested only 2 diferals (which is the max even though the pandemic lasted about 4 months and I make payments bi-weekly) unknown to me there was a 50$ charge on each of those differed payments which I was not told about before hand. One day late on a payment comes with 3 phone calls in a 45 min span as well as a warning alarm on my vehicle even if I have called to say ill be a day late. This company is an absolute scam and are crippling Canadians with false promises and crazy high interest rates. Do not use this company unless you want to pay 50k for a 20 k vehicle. I have filled multiple complaints with BBB and I hope more people do the same and get this absolute ripoff of a company out of business. F**K rifco

My payments are made every second Friday. If I am one day late with a payment, I get the phone call or the message telling me that my payment is late. I was charged a late payment fee 2 weeks ago because I was 1 day late. I have informed Rifco that I am temporarily unemployed. Instead of understanding, Rifco nails me with the late charge fee. Not much help or empathy. This is how Rifco loses customers. The sad part is that they probably will never change.

I dealt with a girl under the name of Brenna or breana ( not sure how she spells it) a friend of mine actually knows her and was told she’s gets whatever she wants with the company just because her and HR are “close”. My complaint is I asked her to stop calling about my account for a ( start up call?) as I was dealing with a personal matter at the time and she replied with “ this is not my problem , I will continue to call until you answer” . I went to the dealership the next day and cancelled my loan as It wasent even approved yet , was told her department would not finalize until my call was completed. My father passed away but apperently a call is more important then that. I will be contacting the ceo of the company in regards to her actions. Congratulation rifco for hiring usless girls with no education and who have no respect for anyone but themselves . Please look into hiring better employees, or you will continue to loose business .

so today was supposed to be the day I paid a whopping 42.67 on my car and be done paying it. well when I checked my bank account I had 182.58 taken out of my account. I had called in on Aug 10 to find out the balance owing so that I could budget. that call saved me. so once I found out a full car payment had been taken out i wasn't happy. I called the customer service line explained the situation. the lady looked it up and got her manager there to assist in the situation. she said that never should have happened. I was given a couple options. one was to deal with it through the customer service line or bc I live in the same city as the head office, i could go there. so I went to head office. the ladies there were wonderful. it was looked into and a solution was found. they took accountability and listened to what I had to say. Rifco is a joke. Harassing, and threatening phone calls/emails. Not one person I have delt with is actually there to help just be sleazbags. All are ignorant and absolutely no communication between coworkers. Will never finance through them again. Lesson learned. Also they like to randomly pull your credit when they feel like it. Which is really illegal. Talked to a few finance managers at a couple different dealerships and they are baffled. It is an absolute joke.

Not sure what all these horrible reviews are, but to me it sounds like people that have issues are ones that stop paying their loans! Obviously a company is not going to be nice if you refuse to pay what you owe them! That's just common sense...or should I say a super power these days! Lol My experience has been great! At a time when I couldn't get a new car loan anywhere rifco was able to help me! Yes the rates were much higher then any bank but they are giving people with horrible credit a chance to get a new car and rebuild themselves. I've got a few months left on my loan and I've never had any issues with payments or dealing with them on the phone. Never had a harassing phone call or email or letter. Bottom line is pay your Bill's people! And creditors will stop harassing you!

Avoid!!!!! Don’t use them to buy your car!!!! charged a extremely high interested rate!!! if you miss one payment they will charge you $60 + interesting for 7 days even if you only one day late! After loan was done still wants more money!!! they do everything they can to take more money from you!!!!! Don’t use them!!!!

..... worst company ever saying I owe 19 grand when they took a car back over a year ago... also asked for a contract multiple times said they’d would send it never received anything... also said the car was “ fully loaded “ witch it wasn’t and that I was not paying rent at the time witch i was... contract has false statements... waiting to hear back from some one there would love to hear what they have to say about this...

I especially enjoyed dealing with Janelle, she is very professional, listens to your needs, and always goes out of her way to help you! I highly recommend this company I have never encountered a single problem or issue with them. Thank you Janelle for all you do, you are an asset to Rifco. (I think you should get a big pay raise!) I also enjoy the receptionist, she is always pleasant, helpful and so kind . She has the most soft kind voice and way about her, that makes you want to reach through the ph and just hug her. She is always courteous, and very helpful! ( I think she should get a big pay raise to, she also is a definate asset to Rifco. Worst company to deal with!! Only been with them since December and has been the worst experience ever. I’m at the point where I’m ready to do a voluntary repo just to get away from this company! I don’t have horrible credit not perfect either but a score above 600 and was growing. They will spam call/text (4+ times a day) even if arrangements have been made, they will not work with clients, they’d rather keep taxing on charges as opposed to simply changing payment dates to clients paydays. Agents are rude and bully. There’s no support from this company whatsoever. I should have read the reviews prior to signing papers. Do not deal with this company! There’s many other subprime lenders that are way better!! Avoid the stress!! Go elsewhere!!

So I have been calling for 15 minutes trying to get through to this company but no one answers the phones on Saturday apparently the Google posting says they are open at 730 on Saturdays and so did the gentleman I spoke with the night before however no one answers when you call this is increasingly frustrating as I'm trying to make my payment and go to work so I can continue to make my payments. Have left three messages and no one has called back have sent an email with no response.

This is by far the worst company on planet earth. I mean next to people banking on child slave labor of course. No one has any idea what the hell is going on with your account ever. You will get emails from different people after you already spoke to someone about an issue etc. If you ever find yourself caught up with this sham of a financial company, please do yourself a favor and burn every trace of your existence or dealings with them. The fact that they are still in operation on It's own must be the eighth world wonder.

This place was the one who approved me for a loan on a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander. When I got the outlander it showed up with undisclosed hail damage and the dealership wouldn’t do anything about it. This is when Amvic and Rifco stepped in. Steven and Doug of Rifco unwinded the deal and got me into a better vehicle with a better rate and I couldn’t be happier with their service! I will continue to go with Rifco for financing. Thanks again guys

Don't even go there, these people will use your situation against you, and will put you more in trouble than you probably are the Gvt should bring them down one after they other... ... charging astronomic interest rates % find another solution wait and rebuilt your credit ask for help. They will told you we will be bring down the % after 1 years if you don't skip a payment and ha ha what a joke!!!

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Been with them 2 years. In my first payment they messed up the paperwork and took the payment out on the wrong date and then tried to charge me 70$ to fix their mistake. After 2 years I never missed payment until this past one. I called someone to explain myself and she was actually really great! (Wish I could remember her name) She explained what to do and how to avoid lowering my credit score. She made me feel safe. For the past 2 weeks I have received multiple phone calls from rifco about my late payment. These people are harassing me over a payment that's 2 weeks late AND that I've already talked to someone about. Paul can't even pronounce my name properly which is why I haven't called him back. Another lady yelled at me when I told her this was harassment and that i was stressed. Terrible company. I don't care what kind of pinch you are in, go with a different company!!! These people don't care about you in the slightest.

We traded our vehicle in a short 4 days ago and I noticed a payment had come out of my account. Of course we had questions for our loan holder as we no longer have the vehicle in our possession. I called to ask a few questions and was met with a woman who simply refused to listen. She answered with the SAME response 7 times without letting me speak. It’s not about the money, it’s being offered clarity to plan as I’m 6 months pregnant and don’t want to be late with a payment I wasn’t planning for (simple right?) She rudely spoke over me the entire duration of the 8minute call, refused to even listen to my questions or provide me with any other answer but her rehearsed script. I had to ask her to be quiet and let me speak several times because she wouldn’t stop talking over me. It was a negative enough interaction that while I was on speakerphone, my husband felt he needed to start recording the conversation as he was absolutely shocked by her attitude. At that time I was so frustrated that I had asked for her to pass me to another person who would listen and answer the simple and direct questions I was asking. She refused so I then asked for her supervisor; I was also refused and told that no one else was available in the “small office”. I Have never had such a poor interaction with a customer service rep in my life. I am only giving this one star because the option for zero isn’t available.
