My experience with MNP Ltd. Sarnia has spanned over the past 10 years from 2012 when I first applied for my first bankruptcy. I was caring for my terminally ill mom and dad and dealing with identity fraud which had led to $40000 dollars in cellphone bills from theft. Because the thief had also filed federal taxes in my name fraudulently as well I was in constant contact even after three years to get my identity cleared. I’m currently going through a second bankruptcy again and throughput the representatives at MNP Ltd. have always been professional, polite and supportive. I was still being harassed by cellphone companies Bell mobility and Telus even after the first bankruptcy and MNP Ltd. contacted them both and the harassing communication stopped. After multiple medical procedures caused me to be out of work for more than three years I found myself over extended on all credit available to me. I was depressed and felt like there was no way of ever getting out of the hole I was in. The creditors were unwilling to work with me as to what I could afford to repay them per month and started to just take what little I had in my accounts, leaving me broker than ever, and it wasn’t even making a dent in the accumulating interest. I felt so helpless and despondent and I really didn’t know what to do...When I finally made that call to MNP I was in the lowest point of my life I’ve ever been in....I really felt worthless and couldn’t see a way out. After the initial consultation,which took a while because they wanted all the details of my situation, I actually felt like somebody cared about what I was going through,..understood it, and re established some self esteem....something I hadn’t had in a long time. I came away from that initial conversation with some options and feeling like a huge weight was lifted from my chest and I could breath again.
