We have the reviews of real people who are using the services and products of Canadian Tire Bank (Bank) near to the territory of Ontario (Canada).
Right now the firm receives a rating of 2.1 stars out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 53 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is low, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the score is quite accurate. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Bank is included in the category of Financial institution.
Horrible, I have a credit card with them since 2013 they call me saying it has been cancelled on my current credit card and giving out false lies to the customer. The worst part is they actually in my credit bureau and which in turn hurt my credit rating.
This bank created a credit card without my signature 2 years ago. When I canceled it right away, they said it won't leave record to credit record. However, it still shows up on my credit record.... I suspect this business as scam So stay away from it everyone!
Financial collection call centre.
If I could leave a 0 star rating I would. I'm absolutely frustrated with the service I received. I applied for a Credit Card with Canadian Tire online, and they ran a credit check (as I knew they would) and then 4 days later they issued a Credit Card to me and mailed it to my home address, when I called to activate the card they transferred me to another department to verify it was me, and then told me the account was closed. When I asked why they wouldn't tell me anything other than to re apply. I said no because that will effect my credit the representative said oh well and hung up. I called back and they refused to answer any questions for me. I want someone to call me.
Thanks for wasting my 2 month Canadian tire bank. after my first review, i heard back from the customer experience service. as i got email for verification thorough online and i did it. but now once i call you guys you are saying my application get expired i have to do it again. So no liabilities. So first i wasted my time by applying then went to store for verification which they did not inform the bank and now i did it through online but no one is responsible to process this application. Wonderful service.
Have had the Canadian Tire Options, then World Options Mastercard for over 5 years now. Have not had a single bad experience. Love the 24 months equal payments no interest for larger purchases at CT. Great rewards system as well. My only complaint was that there was a 3-5 day delay from when you purchased something to it showing up on your Mastercard Online Transaction summary. They just completely redesigned their web interface and now they have "Pending Transactions" link that shows you up to the day what has been put on the card. Really appreciate this new feature. I have had no problem using it in the USA as well, just call ahead to give them a heads up. They have put a stop on the card a few times when certain purchases raised a red flag, but a 5 min phone call clears this up. The inconvenience is worth it for the extra security in my opinion. Also, and this is a huge bonus, their call centre agents are always helpful, friendly, and fast. If you use your credit card regularly, and shop at CT, and like free stuff from CT, then sign up for their Mastercard now.
These guys will sign out a mastercard To anyone who wants it even if it is your name and not the one to get it "Fraud" making company
They suddenly decided that the ID I provided was no longer good enough, even though is was for several years. Gave me 30 days to provide new ID from a list they sent me. Easiest quickest ID to get takes 4-6 weeks in the mail alone. They're closing my account. Can't see online how much I owe. I want to pay it off but they wont let me pay it.
The worst
Applied for a Canadian Tire Credit Card through their website. Came back with a decline in a letter explaining that the decision is based on information they obtained. The letter further explains that I should check with the Credit Bureau (Transunion) about my credit score. I checked with Transunion and my credit score is in the 800's which is considered the top 90th percentile of the population. Called Canadian Tire Bank for an explanation and the Rep there just made a comment with this condescending tone that "Obviously, you do not qualified" and hung up. I spoke to a friend who worked in the credit card industry. He says Canadian Tire Bank and other 3rd/4th Tier financial institutions don't really want applicants with perfect credit score......they make no money if you paid your credit card bills on time. What they are targeting are people that habitually paid minimum payment in the credit card; that way, they can charge these people 19.99% interest. These institutions are essentially "predatory" lenders. That's where they make the money. REALLY SAD if this is the case. NOT SHOPPING Canadian Tire anymore.
So I received my Credit Card and I activated it. Tried to take cash before I make my first purchase but the card got blocked. I call them and they say we cant help you because the security agent is not working now. I wait unitl the second day and call back. They asked me so many questions about my personal information and I answered them. They even asked me about where I was living 10 years ago. And then the agent tells me to wait on the phone. I waited 28 minutes on the phone just to tell me we have to do further review. What kind of customer service is this ? I never waited 28 mins just to reactivate a credit card and got asked so many questions and at the end of the call I have to wait until they finish their review. For what? For 2k limit? While I am writing this review I got called by canadain tire bank because they wanted to speak with me because when i ended the 28 minutes call I told them to cancel the credit card because I am already having bad experience and long delays to reactivate my Mastercard. Guess what? They called me to confirm the cancellation of the credit card instead of apologizing and solving the issue. I already have credit cards with high limits but I applied for their trangile credit card because a friend of mine told me the have good offers. But looks they have good offers with bad customer service. The staff were nice but what's the point if my main issue is not resolved or taking long time to be solved.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!! Never get a credit card with these people!!! Canadian Tire Bank, they're scam artists, I received a credit card through them, and without using it my balance was maxed out. They refuse to acknowledge their mistakes. I had to report the isssue to the Financial Services Commission in order to evengeven a phone call back, and they again said they couldn't help me. This has been a crazy ordeal, talk to Capitol One instead!!!
Honestly what’s up with all the bad reviews? I read a lot of these reviews and it’s people that have had service with canadian tire a few months or a year or two. I mean come on! It takes decades at other places what canadian tire financial did for me in 3 years. Their phone agents are very polite and know what they are doing. Every time I needed help, they were there to help me out. Cant go wrong with canadian tire for all the benefits they offer. If people here have so much to complain, then better go deal with Costco or Amex and see how good a service you receive. Canadian tire financial is the best card company out there.
Horrible, I applied for a credit card from them and a day after getting it in the mail, they call me saying it has been cancelled. The worst part is they actually open the account in my credit bureau and than close it, which in turn hurt my credit rating.
The worst customer service I experienced in my life. I applied for a new card got approved got card by mail tried to activate the card and I called the customer service they told account is closed on customer request. They said they will investigate and will call me. After one week I again called them back they said no investigation will be done apply for a new card. Worst experience in my life.
I had an issue with a fraudulent charge and called the call centre. The people there were nice, it is in Canada. She was very helpful and sympathetic. Great service
Best Private Label Loyalty and Credit Card. With CTFS for over 5 years, World OMC member by invitation. Superb financing opportunities at 24 months equal payments, no fee, zero interest. Just above the rest. Great Canadian company.
Scammers
Definitely has no sympathy and does not care about how loyal of a customer you've been! I lost my job in November 2020 and had an outstanding balance of $9000+. I worked so hard in the following months to pay it off and managed to do so beginning of January by selling my car. However, I still got charged interest on my balance. The representative said they couldn't do anything about it, even though I had been a good customer for over two years, always paid my bills on time and made big purchases on the card.
Ever since the customer reps have been asked to work from home the wait for a call to be answered is ridiculous. They used to be answering almost right away when they were back in the office but now it’s like a circus…I’m actually looking into closing my 2 accounts with them.
Horrible costumer service make you sick of it stay away from use credit card Canadian Tire Word elite if you have problem with it the costumer service can"t help you just make you more headache.
Amazing products. Responsive CSR. Decent website with the convenience of making payment through online debit!
Beware! The place to bank with. They have terrible security controls. I called in to cancel my card and it was not cancelled. Then someone did fraudulent transactions through my card. One year after my cancellation request, I get calls that I have a balance on my card (which was supposed to be cancelled per my understanding) and due to non-payment, my case is moved to collections. I fail to understand why am I being expected to pay and why is my credit history being impacted for the expenses that I did not make!! On my appeal, my case got forwarded to their fraud department. Even after getting my case forwarded to the fraud department, I literally got harassed by call on a daily basis for payment of dues (the amount that I did not spend)! Extremely disappointed in the service and frustrated due to the situation!
Waiting for Replacement card 3 months got 3 different cards but non often can be activated.
If you are looking to have a credit card that is constantly on hold, yet still being charged interest and fees this is most definitely the place to be. From a maze of customer service phone calls, to emails and anything you could imagine they will make sure you can't do anything with your account other than pay it and screw yourself until you can use it for about 5 days every month. This is a joke of a bank that utilizes and abuses those who decide to bank with them. Not only do they use people with low credit scores to generate larger income margins because of fees and interest but they love to watch you run around like an ant under a magnifying glass so in the end you have no option other than to cancel your card and find somewhere even a percentage of a bit better.
I guess one star is the worst I could give... I would give 0 if it allows. WARNING to everyone who wants to apply their credit cards: DO NOT DO IT !!! The frustration that you will be going through is unbelievable, not worth it. So I applied for a world elite mastercard from them a week ago and received pending notice, after a few days, I got an email with Welcome to Canadian Tire Bank message, so I knew most likely the application went through. I received the credit card today in mail and when tried activiating it, it did not work. So I called their customer service line, talked to an agent named Serena, she told me that my account got close upon their second review!!! WHAT? You send a physical card to your client then you suddenly decide not to give the card??? What a big joke??? I asked her the reason, I work in a bank too so I know exactly how it is working, and I have never been refused with a credit card , there must be a reason logged in the credit database. She refused to give me that reason and kept saying that it was just their decision not to extend the credit to me... She then transferred me to her supervisor named "Kevin" and I have heard the most ridiculous explanation a bank could have told their clients. He said: " At this point, I can tell you that the reason your account was closed is that Canadian Tire decided not to do business with you!!!." I really doubt such a bank would be successful in the future, with such a terrible customer service escalation system, such a horrible credit application process. And I do see why the google review is only a bit over 2. I guess I am not the first one that got frustrated with them, huh?
I've been going through a very hard time when I pay for a service that was performed bad and when I contacted the bank trying to get a chargeback Canadian tire promptly came forward and helped me with my issue. Today I got my charge back. Thank you so much Carol for your help and very kind personality.
Regret getting a credit card Triangle Mastercard with CTFS for the following reasons: -Very high interest rates 26.99% -Rude Customer Service -Long wait times to speak to someone (min 30 mins of wait) -No adjustments in interest even when I paid off the full balances -No compassion/empathy even during pandemic time! My experience with RBC and CIBC were so pleasant. They have a recorded message on the IVR stating that its tough times, so lets be nicer to each other. (Which only applies to customers only, not them, apparently I guess !) Will be closing the card at the earliest opportunity and will never come back :(
While the customer service person was very professional and nice - at no time did she address my major issue - THEY CHARGE A $2 MONTHLY 'CREDIT CARD BALANCE ADMIN FEE"... I had a credit on my card of $60 (they owed me $60). My card would not work - constantly declined... yet they are charging me a monthly fee until they are able to steal the full credit and I had no way of spending that $60. SO...I called and griped and cancelled my card. The woman just ignored my issue with fee, ignored the fact that my card with a balance on it would not work and just happily went along with cancelling the card. NOTE TO CTB: All it would have taken was the rep to say "yes I understand that you're unhappy about the admin fee - let me refund that back to your card, and make sure your card is in working order" and you'd have saved me as a customer. NOPE. I used to work for CTFS - find this gross and unacceptable yet have had 2 cc's for more than 15 years with you. I will be paying off my remaining one and cancelling that as well - hope you read this and do something about this very big and important service issue.
Don't give them your business. Wife had their credit card and tried to raise the interest rate to 21%. When interest are falling and no help for people during these times. Closed the account.
Extremely disappointing credit card application service at Canadian tire store in Fairview Burlington . 3 tablets with credit card application app , none of them working . Wasted 1 and half hour in store , neither application completed nor can buy the product . Call centre staff has same repeated manual replies . Store staff has no idea about credit card application process . Extremely dissatisfied.
I have called the customer service line on 3 occasions in the past 2 months. First time to tell them that someone had tried to access my card to the tune of about 15K and to cancel that card and send me a new one. Done, no issues. 2nd time, to transfer a credit from a refund with a company that refunded my original card, 10 minutes and complete, no worries. 3rd time today, to transfer a credit from a refund from the previous credit card by a company who refunded the original card. 48 minutestalking and on hold with a young man, finally a Supervisor came on and said their policy was changed in the last 7 days and its not just cut and dry anymore.. I told them I was more upset about the 48 minutes of wasted time and the 14 sorry's I received. I actually had to tell them to stop saying their sorry and just fix the issue. The Supervisor got very snippy and rude and has no ability to handle an upset customer I have had this card for 16 years and NEVER been late with payment, most months are paid ooutright. Just rude behaviour and somehow we are just supposed to be ok with it... Never will I be ok with rude behaviour from anyone. Especially someone who owes me not me them. Do yourself a favour if you get this card dont call the customer service, 1 out of 3 was a decent experience. Very disappointed Canadian Tire.. very disappointed...
Very confusing and contradictory messages Never answer calls or messages Terrible customer service. Some businesses obviously cannot handle e-commerce
Disgusting
We applied for Triangle mastercard online. They called us back after 1 day to verify our identification, said that the application had been approved, and the card would reach us in about 7 days. We waited for 2 weeks, didn't receive anything and didn't hear back from them. We made another call and found out the application was declined, we did not qualify and no further information provided. I waited for 2 weeks for nothing at all. Waste my time! Canadian Tire Bank, if you declined the application, why wouldn't tell us?!
too bad Google doesn't allow 0-Star reviews because this would be a perfect scenario for it. I received an email today from CTFS that they have noticed that my credit card hadn't been used for a few months (last used Nov 2020) and are now pressuring me to use it or they would close my account within the next 60 days. In the same email they write how they value me as a customer. Umm...really? Forcing a customer to "use it or lose it" has nothing to do with customer appreciation. To essentially penalize my decision to not incur debt during a pandemic and to curb my spending is rather disturbing to say the least. On the flip-side I am thankful that they wrote this email as it fully opened my eyes whom I should do business with in future. I am happy to announce, that THEY did not make that list and I am even happier to announce that I closed my account! @CTFS...Good luck with that new business model of yours. Your former customer.
If you want to lose interest on your money as your funds are lost in limbo for a month, then try transferring your TFSA to CT bank. The time wasted on the phone trying to sort out such a bungled transfer between CT bank and EQ bank has been a huge PITA, so much so that I am done with both these so companies. Not only that, within days of initiating the transfer CT bank dropped their rate, without warning to 1.25%, the same as EQ, I would have cancelled the whole transfer there and then but was assured the interest would be back dated to the time the funds left my EQ account, now a month later the story has changed, it's up to me to go after EQ bank, wow, so be forewarned and if someone does assure that you are covered for lost interest, get their name and record the date, then you might have a chance, ugh.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Been on hold for 27 minutes.
I have always found the telephone service polite and timely. Waiting times are short. Good Canadian Company. Great rates!
I like it. Easy to apply, earns points and most of time hassle free.
I called to confirm transactions on my credit card. I have never received worse service. The lady was harsh, I thought i offended her by asking about my wknd pymts. Gush!
Awful customer service, I did not receive a statement two months running. After going online there was a notice of amount owing and a due date. I paid the full amount with an e transfer on the Due Date That wasn't good enough. Even though payment was made on a Thursday they told me my account would be inactive until next Tuesday. Spoke to a supervisor that had zero customer skills. Kept repeating it was my fault and she wouldn't do anything.
When I asked for a refund check they won't issue me one because they want to know more information where my source of payments coming from. I regret getting a credit card from them. Canadian tire bank is keeping my funds without sending me a check when requested one.
This business offers the WORST customer service imaginable. The levels of disrespect to its customers take the cake. I'm trying to cancel the CTB credit card and have been waiting to talk to a representative for hours!!! If you value your time, stay away from Canadian Tire Bank and their credit cards!
A month ago I was approved for a card, I have GREAT credit. I have not received it yet. End of storey. They blame the mail. B.S.
