Here you will see the opinions of real people who are purchasing the products of Scotiabank Centre (Bank) in the territory close to Nova Scotia (Canada).
To this day this business gets a rating of 4.3 over 5 and the rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is high, and it is based on a large number of reviews, so we can think that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bank is classified in the category of Arena.
Let's go Moose!!!
Just saw a moose heads game. They have a new display board with newer features.
Great venue for many reasons! We just took in our first lacrosse game recently and were so impressed with the experience! The renovations over the past few years really make a huge difference!
I loved the arena! It’s a nice place to relax with family and friends. The food prices are very affordable and there’s always someone to help you there.
Had many great experiences here. Usually attending a sport or entertainment event. Lack of transit on Brunswick Street make it difficult for mobility challenged individuals to attend events on their own. Once inside, staff assistance is excellent.
This venue is NOT disabled friendly!! Only one elevator means more walking than most with mobility difficulties can manage. It is built on a hill so street parking is tough and I could find only 4 handicapped parking spots on the same level as the entry doors. Plan ahead and go early. Very disappointing.
Inaugural lacrosse match - very fast- paced and exciting! The playing field is gorgeous!
Had so much fun during the Royal Tattoo!
Tattoo location - not to miss! Centre is old + seats are small. Could be better accessible options and entrances.
Attended the 2018 Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. Awesome show at a great venue!
This organization practices oppression and segregation against the public. This is discrimination and unlawful. I suggest you take your business elsewhere.
Great venue to watch the mooseheads in action and good selection of concerts and shows. Lots of parkades around and public transport options. Very close to the waterfront and ferry terminals.
I love Halifax hockey team. Today's game was great.
First time here since the upgrade from Metro Centre. Nice facilities. Attended a lacrosse game for the first time. Very entertaining with a full crowd. Comfortable seats.
Seating is a little tight, not many events happen in Halifax worth seeing as it's so small here, but sometimes there's great concerts of hockey games!
I haven't been here since it was the Metro Centre so I was quite surprised at the face lift it has received. An entire section of seating has been removed for sky boxes, so that's neat. I wish there was more beer offerings other than Budweiser et al. We live in an craft beer haven and there should be craft offerings in this place. Prices of beer and concessions are as expected, expensive. The sound system in this arena is fantastic. At times I could feel my chest rumbling. Looking forward to going back
Great spot to watch hockey and the New Moosehead Lounge is amazing!
Nice sports and entertainment center. Reasonably sized for the local population. Great Moosehead QJML hockey played here. Many great performances by world renowned artists and performers such as Cirque du Soleil.
A shadow of its former glory when there were major concert events. A good place to watch great junior hockey. Like most sports arenas, the food and beverages are pricey and the last time I was there (2017), the washroom facilities were disgusting.
The Centre is clean, new and well updated since being taken over. It's not the best for acoustics, so concerts are just okay, not great. The seating is comfortable and the staff personable and helpful - which is good because the signage and wayfinding is not the best. Several of the staircases are bathroom adjacent, making it seem like you'll have to go into the bathroom to go upstairs. Confusing, especially if you don't know. Similarly, the staircases to the upper bowl can be obscured, and in low light frustrating to find. The concessions are varied and plentiful but not cheap, and very beer oriented...great if that you're thing. It's easy to become disoriented in the building so don't feel bad if you keep having to check that you're going the right direction. Stairwells are steep and the steps shallow, so can be tough for people with mobility or vertigo - if you're unsure, go with booking an accessible seat.
An older stadium compared to others around the country, the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax is still a great place to take in a hockey or basketball game or a concert. It's connected to the Sport Nova Scotia Hall of Fame, so there is plenty to …
Great venue. Fair beer prices.
I went to the Jack White concert on Nov.14th with floor seat ticket which was standing room only and it was a cold night so I had a thick winter coat. There was no coat check available and I had to carry my coat the whole time which was awkward and on top of that some spilled beer on me and my coat. All in all, the concert was good but it was harder to enjoy having to hold my stuff the whole time, the organizers should consider this for future events, especially in colder weather.
The venue is standard. Upgraded washroom facilities last year. New seats in the arena last year as well. Bit concessions only seem to be fully open for some events and never fully open for Hurricanes Basketball games.
I loved being able to attend the Supernova event. Getting through security was not a hassle because we were ready beforehand. Everything seemed well put together for the concert! I hope we can have more events.
Awesome...a great view from almost everywhere, great seats and sky boxes. Watch out for beer prices though...$8.50 each!
Fantastic staff and venue for all events -- from concerts to conventions!
Nothing but a bad experience at the Scotiabank center. I have been here on 3 separate occasions and they were all a nightmare. I do not recommend this place for any venue. The security is not professional and will degrade you. I was unable to located my seats and the security staff were very rude, aggressive, terrible, and offensive. Security will not help and only make matters worse ( they will take their anger out on you and are not professional at their job). I am not form the Halifax area or familiar with the Scotiabank centre. I will never enter into this place again. They ruined my nights, expectations, and any enjoyment of entertainment (all 3 occasions I went). I recommend going to another venue before you consider this place. Had a great experience at different venues where I could avoid this place including: casino Nova Scotia, Casino New Brunswick, Moncton Avenir center, Quebec Videotron centre, Bell centre Montreal, M Telus Montreal, Fredericton Play House, Saint John TD Station, and the Imperial Theatre. Even after the fact with security the staff members on site were unable to help me out. Other people present could not believe this “quality of service” they had observed. Hands down the worst place to go for any entertainment! My biggest regret was going to this place and also not filming the quality of service they provide so you can all see what to expect. 3 strikes for this place.
Went to see Trevor Noah. The show was great and it was easy to get to our seats...but oh those seats.... I'm a skinny dude of average height and those seats had me *squirming". Just could never get comfortable. I'd hate to think what it's like for people with larger body types. My partner is 6'3 and he had to spread his legs out in the aisle and left the venue in pain. Almost couldn't stay for the whole show.
The main event venue in town, pretty much any big show is going to be here. Prices on concessions can be a little steep, but in general, service is usually pretty good and staff are usually on the ball, and willing to help with your needs.
I have been to concerts, comedy shows and sporting events since the refurb and I am impressed. Comfortable seating, great audio, and the new scoreboard is awesome. It is time to re-rethink the vendors though. Some of the new ones just aren't working.
The Scotia Centre is a great place for sporting events and concerts. It holds between 10,000 to 14,000 people. Newer seats are fairly comfortable and there is a rail to hang on to 3/4 of the way down the lower bowl.
It's the perfect size, has decent food offerings and works well for both sports and concerts, with surprisingly good acoustics for a stadium. One of the best stadiums I have been to in Canada.
Overall a good stadium. Organised and staff are friendly. Seats are a little cramped however. Food and beer is super overpriced but thats pretty generic.
Small seats very uncomfortable and if you are there for an event you can't leave until it's over. I'm not a smoker but do like to go out for some fresh air during breaks / halftime. Not being aloud to is crazy to me I paid for my ticket I would be able to come and go as I pleas.
Not a fan of the new seats they put in here at all! They are way too close together! Plus the cup holders are on the seats in front of you taking away from the little leg room that you have in the first place! Why wouldn't they just put the cup holders on the arm rests like at the movie theatres?! Smooth move!
Great view to any event, but seats have much to be desired. Arm room is limited, and cramped unless you weigh 100lbs or less. Cup holders are in awkward spots resulting in neighbors elbowing your cup and/or straw. I was lucky enough to be in one of the isle seats that did NOT have a cup holder on my right, and the one on the left of me was being used...... Needless to say I wasnt very comfortable....
The show was great but you can't even bring in your own bottle of water and all the concessions are grossly overpriced. Got nachos and they were stale!. Also the woman used her bare hand to put them from the bag into the dish ????. The floor seats were not very comfortable and are all attached in rows so their isn't much wiggle room. It's not very accomadating for larger people who basically have to hope the person next to them is small and doesn't mind touching sides and arms ????
Honestly a solid venue to watch the game or a concert. Halifax is a good city to watch hockey in and the crowd gets into it. Expensive beer and food is par for the course for realistically it's a solid time
I've been a few times. I love it here! Great seats no matter where I've sat. Good food options. The warm flavoured peanuts are a fav of mine.... those, and the come beer of course!
We were there for the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo! Great venue! Good location, but very hard to find parking for a tall van in area. Plenty of parking underground for cars, but street parking for us was non-existent.
Always a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful.
A fantastic venue to see the Mooseheads play, with a great crowd and a great view of the ice for more of the seats. The extra TVs help if you can't see the jumbotron and the noise from the ice is plenty loud throughout the bowl. Food and drinks are a little pricy considering it isn't major leagues sports, and the parking is non-existent (we park way out and walk 15-20 minutes to keep our sanity). The seats are comfortable for the few hours you're there and the isles and hallways are wide enough to get people through without being uncomfortable.
Went to a show here in February. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the concessions (although insanely overpriced like every other venue of this type) were plentiful with more local options than I'd thought there would be. The …
Always a treat to visit with helpful stage and a great viewing angle from any seat in the house along with the nice shops that line the outer of the complex the only thing daunting is the price of food at some events. It's seen many tough hockey games and rocking concerts and is a great venue that welcomes anybody
It's a world class sports and events centre.
Its always interesting going here as the building is very confusing if you go in from a different way each time. The employees in the ticket booth are, how do I say it nicely...not wasting their time. I felt they were being aggressive when responding to questions. As I didn't know where to go at the time. Finslly getting my ticket everytime the security is always different and somewhat unpredictable ( will go into detail ). With that being said, I have been here for hockey and basketball games to take photos for teams. So I have no problem with security searching my bag, as I have a large camera case for different lens. But this particular event was weird and unfortunate because I didn't have a large bag. Security had a line of people waiting to get in, finally I am next and the lady in front of me has a large hershel backpack, hands the ticket master the ticket *beep* goes in. I am next and with my bag holding dollarma noise makers... they then proceed to ask me to open my bag. The thing that bugs me is the fact the lady in front of me turned around and assumed they were talking to her, because she did have a big bag. And they say no, were are talking to him, you... and I ask "are you gonna search hers too?"... they say "no, we need to check yours" and obviously I know what is happening by this point and I have to play this stupid game. So they search my bag, pull out everything asking me, "whats this", "whats this"... knowing they are cow bells... and hand shakers...(we were here to watch sports)... This is not only on the security service but also on the building on knowing the security they have hired. Don't judge me by the way that I look or the way that I talk...
Came for a Mooseheads game with the kids. Bought a giant popcorn which the kids devoured. Plenty of washroom facilities, no issues with our seats, parked at Scotia square and were able to walk over without going outside. All in all a very successful outing!
The staff there is typically friendly and they always have a good variety of events happening. The local QJMHL hockey team is fun to watch as well as the local basketball team. Only complaint is that its near impossible to walk through the rows of seats, even when others stand up for you to get through you always feel like you're inches from toppling over.
Large arena, lots of seating though the seats are pretty jammed together. Definitely not meant for tall people. I'm 5'6 and my knees were a half inch away from the seat in front of me sitting up straight. Lots of food and drink options in the hallway just outside the arena. A little more then I'd pay, but convenient for sure. One thing I didn't like is that I bought a water, for close to 4$, and they opened it before giving it to me, and kept the cap. Apparently that's their policy.
Very clean, staff are excellent, amazing for watching hockey
Liked the experience. Wish if they had better seating arrangements. The leg space is too less that each time anyone wants to go out, everyone else on the raw literally needs to get up to make a way.... That's pretty annoying if you get a seat near the aisle...
An almost perfect venue for any event that needs to be held in Halifax. The Scotiabank centre can do it all from car shows to the Davis Cup to the memorial cup. It's an old building so the top concourse is a bit tight when all patrons are walking around during game breaks. The seats and concession areas have been updated in the past 2 years. I think this is the best venue east of Montreal
Very busy, and that's great! But kinda disappointed with these seats since I flew in from Toronto to watch this game. Was expecting to see more and not a wall infront of me
We finally got out to our first Mooseheads game, and had a great time! The seats are very comfortable, although a bit tight. Some of the signage was a bit confusing but the layout was great - not a bad seat in the place. They have a great variety of snacks and drinks, but could maybe have more candy options for the kiddos (like bagged candy etc). We look forward to going back!
Bryan Adams was very good! I was impressed by the sound quality as in the past concerts were not that great sounding. Its clear upgrades have been made!
After paying good money for our concert tickets for our night out to see the offspring we were denied re entry after having to make a trip to our car after going in the building. Never again will I buy tickets to any event at the Hailfax …
Tonight was my first time there since the renovations a while back. Saw Harry Potter in Concert with my family. The place looks great and the show was fantastic. However, while the seats have lots of cushion, if you're over 5'3" they're terribly uncomfortable and cramped. I'm 5'11" on a good day and for the life of me I couldn't get comfortable, to the point in which I thought I was going to have to leave early. Also, as others have noted, concession prices are unreasonably high.
Great layout. Not a bad seat in the house. We saw the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo here. Friendly and accommodating staff. It’s a climb up if you’re gonna walk from the harbor. The show was excellent.
We were there for a concert and once you are in they tell you if you go outside you can't come back in. I couldn't go out to give keys to my kid to get in my house luckily she stayed with a friend instead. So you can't go out for a cigarette, you can't go out for fresh air, you can't you out if you need to make a call, If you do they won't let you back in, even though you have a ticket. I thought I was going to a concert not lock up for the night. On top of that the prices they charge for drinks and food are insane.
The special effects for performances are incredible! The seats are very comfortable and the snack choices are varied! This is wonderful place to enjoy your favourite local sports teams' games and many other events, celebrations and festivities!
New seats are comfy but lacking legroom if you're taller. Good visibility of the ice surface from most areas.
Good game! The centre is a great place for a hockey ???? game!
Watched my first game here tonight of the Thunderbirds and the presentation was great. The get in was quick, straight forward and easy going for my first time! The only thing I would I would say is the food options are pretty limited to Pizza, fries, and pretzels. Some healthier options would be really appreciated by a lot of the cities residents! Other than that was very good!
Great venue and snack / beer selection. Surprisingly roomy seats for a sports centre, although still traditionally too close for comfort with your often stranger neighbour.
Great place to have a family game night. Halifax’s Moose Head home game.
Been coming to the Metro Centre / Scotiabank Centre for a long time, and most recently got to catch the season opener of the Halifax Thunderbirds. It was a great time, loved being back in the arena, and if you haven't checked out live Lacrosse you really should, as it is a blast.
Mooseheads hockey is great value. Serious problems with concessions and guest services - far too underwhelming with long wait times.
If you are over 6ft tall, you will find the legroom in the new blue seats lacking. I am 6'4, and I found the side seats tight, and had to keep legs spread open to be somewhat comfortable. The corner sections are horrible, so much so that I can't put my feet flat on the floor, so uncomfortable that the Usher let us sit in the folding chairs behind the section (sec 4). It really is too bad that they felt the need (Greed) to jam more seats in. I use to go to Moose games on a Regular basis, now haven't been in Two years. There are a few seat that have ok legroom, but forget about getting them for Moose games as the Season ticket holders have them. Shame on the person who made the decision on those seats :-(
Had a box for the Mooseheads game tonight. The box and seating were great, as was the staff we encountered. However, the prices for food and beverages were exorbitant!! If you ordered food and/or drink to be brought to the box, you paid the high concession prices plus a 17% surcharge plus 15% HST plus gratuity. Very disappointing!
Nice facility, but be sure to bring cash for parking. It ranges from $4 outdoors to $7 indoors at SCOTIA Square. It would be best to arrive an hour early for any major event to get parked and seated. Decent choice of food and beverages. They take credit and debit. Food & Beverages are expensive, but not out of line with what you should expect at a major sporting facility.
Great venue for so many reasons..but the seats are sooooo uncomfortable.. no leg room..cup holders a problem when trying to put legs sideways..thrombosis must be a problem for some people..great hockey and entertainers..so much to offer ...why not think of the patrons thank you for the railings. .a great help
Scotia Bank is a state-of-the-art arena. I have enjoyed watching live hockey & basketball games here. It's worth visiting for a good night out with friends or family or even solo.
A great venue for sports. Both upper and lower bowls have great sight lines and the upper bowl doesn't feel too far away. For concerts it is a good venue with decent acoustics. The food and beverage selection is pretty good with some craft beer options. As with most of these venues the prices are on the expensive side.
Had a wonderful time at Cirque du Soleil with my granddaughter! Our seats were great. Loved the show. But popcorn was too expensive.
Saw a moosehead game, lots of fun! Really great for families. Affordable tickets and a great atmosphere. I recommend not getting the nosebleeds because there is an obstructed view from a beam. Either way, fun night out for everyone !
Attended a basketball game with my daughter and grandson. We had a skybox and the service was really good. The snacks we ordered were hot and a great portion. It's the only way to watch a game.
Cirque was entertaining, however for very front row seating, like row 1, premium pricing, the seats are far too close together. Very cramped, not comfortable, disappointing. Seating in the bowl looked more comfortable. Must see some improvement by building operators for future premium paid seating on the floor.
Some amazing time with my sons here! Always love visiting the boys in the city, just wished parking wasn't so chaotic at time! Cest la vie!
Events such as concerts, bull riding are conducted here. And apart from this it is and indoor stadium which hosts hockey and basketball matches amaong others.
The last time I was in this facility was to see the Kevin Hart comedy show. It is an older facility but it does its job it was a great show bathrooms were a little dirty and of course there's always trouble parking anywhere in downtown Halifax
They did a terrible job of enforcing the mask mandate.
Great spot right up till the mandated vaccines ! I will never be back !
Event was great, however although the seats themselves were comfortable the ZERO legroom made the whole thing VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I cannot imagine being in the same seats in winter waring large jackets and boots !! This needs to be …
Really enjoyed the Moosehead's game!
Some folks from India who worked at the concessions are unhygienic. They like to snack at the pre-scooped popcorn and candies. One guy from the same country who wears the uniform with red at the sides not only spend his time on his cellphone and chatting instead of serving customers was playing with icecubes with bare hands. No visible nametags for those people. Great location, accessible, clean place, friendly staff, lots of concession kiosk. I was able to watch concerts, mooseheads, before rainmen now the hurricanes, thunderbirds game and it is easy to purchase tickets online. Someone actually answers the phone if you call.
Friendly helpful staff, great atmosphere. But those seats...... It may seem a small thing, but I have NEVER sat in more cramped, tiny, uncomfortable, restraining seats than these at any other venue or event anywhere. My knees were jammed up …
Great place to take in a game. Seats are much more comfortable since the renovation. Just a quick walk to Scotia Square bus terminal or the Halifax ferry. We are excited to have a professional lacrosse team in the city. Go Thunderbirds!
The seating is ridiculous. I'm 6'2" and I practically had to do the splits to sit in my seat because there is no leg room at all. My wife is 5'7" and she was unbearably uncomfortable during the concert we were there to see. Not only is …
Great place to go for entertainment. This time we caught a Moosehead game. Next visit will be to catch a traveling Broadway show. There is always some thing fun going on here to bring the family to.
