Horrible. They expired my debit card on the Canada day long weekend, with no notice. Called and they refuse to do anything about it until the following business day, leaving me with no way to access my money. Will be switching banks.

This is a fantastic institution with warm staff and a refreshing outlook on banking. I originally switched because RBC did not value my patronage and treated me like a number. The fact that the staff make an effort to know me personally and help me navigate loans, forms of saving e.t.c makes me happy that I switched to a credit union.

Horrible experience. Recieved a loan through them only to find a bunch of hidden fees and insurance and whatever else they want to add on. Then when going to pay out they charge you more ridiculous fees. Would NEVER recommend them to anyone! Fraud at its finest. Use a real bank!

Recently we did a large financial transaction through the credit union. The transaction was intercepted and stolen, the police were involved and other financial institutions. We phoned the KCCU Gardiners Rd branch for help but they brushed us off. Another branch stepped in to help but only as far as they chose to help. It took more than 6 weeks of phoning branch to branch to get the insurance claim processed. I contacted Dave Bull, the interaction was tense. He phoned me back, I apologized, he didn't phone to help, he didn't ask if I was OK, he phoned me with intention to verbally rip me apart, he was vicious and cruel, then he contacted other senior staff at KCCU and trashed us. So, good luck to you if you choose to enroll at KCCU.

I cannot recommend the KCCU enough. They have always been helpful but in my recent major purchase they were lifesavers. The purchase was taking place outside of Kingston and they were able to provide the cheque I needed that another financial institution I deal with would not do. When I was out of town making the purchase Sherry from the KCCU branch emailed a direct deposit form to me as I forgot to bring a cheque. The service from KCCU is exceptional and I have never regretted making them my primary financial institution.

The atmosphere is friendly and the staff courteous and professional. But if you open up a small business account BEWARE of the FEES. I opened up one and was not made aware of the monthly fees. Within the first month I was charged $17.95 "service fee" and after inquiring was told that I would be charged that fee monthly for mobile banking and debit card. That was, of course, in addition to other monthly fees for depositing checks. I opted to close my account and was told that there would be a fee of $25 for doing that and of course, that would be in addition to the $17.95 service fee. All in all an expensive lesson learned about opening a business account at KCCU.

I came in, there was 2 tellers I was the only one in line it was 4:41 the tellers each had customers. The one customer left and the teller at put up her next teller sign at 4:42, while the other teller was dealing with a client. I waited over 20 minutes and only one person acknowledged that I had been standing there for awhile yet was not able to help as he did not have a TIL available. All I wanted was to exchange money to American money and see about doing my business here. The teller was asking another teller for help and I found the person helping her rude in front of the customer. I could’ve understood if they were busy, I would have been patient but I have never had such poor customer service. I ended up leaving a very angry potential customer.
