Opened an account here today for the free unlimited transactions, found the service to be outstanding, the "money pro" (Bryce) who helped me was informative, helpful, personable and took the time to answer all of my questions. Felt like i was banking in a relaxed yet professional place which was much nicer than any big nation wide banks I have ever used.

My favorite place to bank here in Kelowna, they no line ups and the branch manager Bonnie is awesome. She went above and beyond to help us and stayed after the branch closed to ensure we got our banking needs in order. I definitely recommend everyone to give Coast Capital Savings a try.

Too many bad things about this company to even start. Terrible for businesses, accounts set up incorrectly but they won't own their mistakes, app that is so awful it is not user friendly, changing hours of operation but not posting it online, closing accounts without notice yet continued to accrue charges, the list goes on. Going in again to try and close my account after not being able to find instructions on how to do it online and waiting on hold for over an hour to get customer service.

Great place to have an account as they charge minimal fees for business accounts and sometimes none for personal. All the ladies at the counter are friendly and happy to help. Worth checking out.

Can NOT recomend this place dispite it's bold colourful decor. Was going to open a free chequing account here. They were 20+ min late to open, a line of people watched as staff milled about ignoring them. The lady who met with us was very condescending and curt. When she learned we had a very simple profile she became rather rude and said "So you're just here for the money!", (sign up bonus)which was an inaccurate assumption as we needed better account options. She clearly disliked us because of our income level/source and lack of mortgage/loans etc to get her hands on. All around very unprofessional behaviour despite how neutral/polite we were. We took our business elsewhere where we are now treated like valued members instead of insects, and couldn't be happier about the choice. March 6th 2017 "Jodi"

I have done all my banking at Coast Capital for the last 30 years, and lately it has been nothing but one frustration after another. Their online banking has issues that they don't fix, and phoning in results in a long wait, after which they don't follow up on any of the requests that they said they would. I'm literally being forced to do my banking somewhere else.

I have been banking at the Kelowna Coast Capital branch, in Kelowna, pretty much since the location opened. Having experience banking with larger banks, Coast Capital has gone over and above with their customer service and client relations. I would recommend Coast Capital to anyone who is on the fence about who they are banking with and want to make the switch for more personal banking. Taylor Horsting has been an exceptional role model in the area of personal finance, he is highly knowledgeable and I would recommend seeing him for all of your personal financial needs.

Online banking with Coast Capital is absolutely terrible, there bank machine feel like there from 1990, slow, awkward, and the process in which it prompts you is in a way so on a daily basis people are forgetting there bank cards in the machine. You would have to use one to know what I mean. I decided to bank with them for my Corporate accounts because of the slightly lower fees but am definitely regretting my decision . I bank at other banks for personal banking as well and I gotta say Coast Capital better step up there game because there is no comparison.

If you like waiting 30+ min on hold just to even talk to someone to direct your call, this is your bank, if you like to wait 30+ min to see a teller in the branch every time & day, this is your bank, I have had a membership here since i was a kid, my parents do there business banking here, since i was a kid its been the same terrible wait times & service and only gets worse, as i get older and start needing other financial needs, line of credit, etc, this bank is proving its worthlessness to me even more. After attempting to make a call to book an appointment about a loan my call was disconnected after 30+ min before even speaking to someone. I go to the branch and they tell me i have to wait another week or more cuz they are all booked. Pathetic. The bank down the road had me in and talking to someone and my car loan approved within 15 minutes. Will be canceling and transferring my banking needs to a new bank. I do not recommend this bank to anyone thinking about signing up here, unless you have time to kill and enjoy waiting a ridiculous amount of time for everything.

The staff are absolutely wonderful. I was in town from Alberta dealing with an estate. I didn't have an appointment but Rosie at the service counter spoke with Gurpreet (he handles estates and investments) and together they managed to fit me in. It was very refreshing dealing with knowledgeable and empathetic people who cared more about me as a person, than focusing on generating revenue. Kudos to this Credit Union. There isn't a Coast Capital in Alberta, if there was, I would dump my bank and go with them. In fact, I will be looking at Servus Credit Union in Alberta and still dump my bank. The only downside to this location is the parking lot. It's so busy and access is limited to one entrance/exit. Thank you for your assistance.

On hold for an hour. I got tired of waiting and hung up. I keep getting inconvenienced by their mobile banking site. Specifically lately the e-transfer feature. Other times the app just kicks me out back to the sign in screen while I'm banking.This is not the service I pay for! Get your sh!t together Coast Capital or you are going to lose clients!

Be aware of transfering funds from Coast to their affiliate Qtrade. My supposed transfer was done on April 5 /21. I received a "transfer request sent" from Qtrade at this time. On May 19th I called Qtrade to find out the status of this transfer only to be told after a search on their end that I had not completed an application which had to be done before the transfer request. Why they started with the transfer bypassing the application is beyond me. Funds are now being transferred to TD Bank.

Your telephone assistance is terrible especially when it mentions the service is to speed assistance. I noticed a response from some management person about experiencing unusual high volume of calls. That's nonsense. I hear that too often. Provide proper staffing and fire the geniuses that designed your answering system and you may find you'll gain or retain your customers. 22 minutes waiting is totally unacceptable.

Every time I go here I have a terrible experience. I've moved the majority of my banking away from here, but I leave the account open just in case I need to do a couple things. I even called ahead and talked to someone a couple days ago to ensure I could do what I needed to do. Today I waited in line for a long period of time, the standing boxes on the floor were not well marked and a young lady came over and told me to move back to the box literally where two other people were standing. There were only two tellers and then the young lady who was doing nothing and who told me to stand by other people came on to help. At first she said I could complete my transaction then she said I could only complete part of it and then she made me wait a ridiculous amount of time while she typed away and kept telling me to hold on she was working on it. Then she proceeded to tell me I could not do the transaction which I had called ahead to make!

This location is 1 of 3 on the Penninsala. I like this Central Semiahmoo Location because it is within walking distance. Lots of friendly staff, especially on weekdays. A large "Credit Union" supporting community events. Thanks ....

Past experience with this bank was great. Not so with the Harvey branch. They tell you what you want to hear at the time then don't bother getting back to you. I actually had to phone 3 times over 3 weeks when I was originally told "about a week" was when they would get back to me. Additionally they knew I had switched my direct deposit over for my paycheck and was on a time frame. Next day off I will be taking my banking business elsewhere.

I have applied for a home equity loan three times from Coast Capital Savings and they have disappointed me every time. Usually after waiting an hour on the phone with repetitive music on hold, they finally ask for your information, they send you an email and I reply with the docs, then you wait, and wait, and then you email, no response, wait and then you call, wait an hour on hold, talk to someone and then they tell you they will leave a message for someone else, then you wait, then you try to contact a manager, you wait - one time it took me 2 months to receive a proper response - completely frustrating experience :(

Awful experience banking with Coast Capital. I have been a member there for about 4 years now and I am today leaving. I need to be able to access my money all the time, and this bank has left me hanging on my debit card not working dozens of times. Multiple replaced cards. Multiple locations and stores, where I have stuff to pay for and money to pay for it, but my debit fails. I spoke to Jeff in the Langley branch and sincerely hope he is fired after talking to him. He has an inability to admit that there was indeed a problem when I can't access my card, and insisted on continuing to argue with me, by not giving me my money when I said I am leaving banks. The manager here handled this very well, although there was nothing she could do to fix the problem, she admitted that there was one which is more then the other teller could.

Long time (30+ years) customer of Coast Capital (multiple mortgages and loans), but I haven't been very happy with them over the past couple of months. The manager at the Queensborough location was particularly difficult to deal with. It is unfortunate that I have had three experiences in a row that have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Do not recommend coast capital. I came in with my girlfriend who is a member of coast capital and the branch manager guaranteed me that they would be able to help me rebuild my credit and give me the tools and advice needed to put me on the right track. So I made an appointment and went through two weeks of phone calls and planning only to have them deny me the ability to make an account at the branch. Yes I have bad credit, but this bad credit is under 10k and hasn't been added to in over a year. I have been taking the necessary steps to pay off said debts and this branch guaranteed they'd be able to give me the tools to make this an easier process. I wasn't applying for a loan, I wasn't applying for a credit card, only applying to open an account. When I inquired as to the reasonings why my credit affects my ability to apply for a regular account I was met with nothing but negative feedback, and never given a straight answer to inform me as to why my credit affects my application. The point I'm making is I came in on the promise of being able to be helped rebuild my credit only to be denied for the very thing they promised to help me with. So I don't recommend Coast Capital as they're not true to their word and you'll only be met with empty promises and just another company trying to take your hard earned money

The app started out perfect. Gets worse with every new design. It doesn't even work half the time now. If you do business banking - pass on this bank now. Further details on app: iPhone 11 pro, iphone SE: Etransfers: you cannot see entirely which account you are using. You cannot see the balance when selecting. You cannot see all the recipients information/email until you are at the next step to confirm. Deposit on the Go: you select it from menu, the option flies upwards and reveals a second link to click under the former one - a useless step that requires searching. If you do multiple deposits you need to click a repeat icon and while doing so if you accidentally click the cheque image box instead of the TINY camera image then it will reveal the previously deposited cheque instead. There is also the problem if you touch too close to edge/bottom of screen to access buttons the app closes and you lose your whole deposit. APP and WEB PAGE on computer: Often need to sign in three times to get it to work. It says it's a problem on their end. Also, we set up our banking for their new system and they lost all that and we had to go in and do it all again. This time our accounts aren't even merged. Whatever, we will be switching banks. There's more. I have told them a month ago and before. Additional details: The new app does not update your balance as you deposit cheques with app. The old app did and this was an added safety measure because sometimes the cheques actually didn't deposit, it just acted like they did. Now you have to go through menu back to accounts to confirm new balance.

Mortgage coming due - 4 months out. Started receiving emails and when I did not respond they started to call. The second call from a young man. He opened by saying "I can help you avoid penalties (only) if you renew your mortgage now. This does not go over well with me - I can handle it. But what about those who are less confident and actually get pressured into renewing. This is shameful, coercive and unprofessional business practices. Obviously this attitude comes from the top - it often does. So what is the sense of complaining to the manager or the big boss. Best to go to a regulator. But even then, poor attitude at the top and it will never change - better to walk and tell all your friends to avoid Coast Capital at all costs.

Waited in line for 35min, the owner replies with a copy and pasted reply that hes sent to 4 other ppl that I can see, to be more specific I've been in there 20+ times for my business bank inquiries all hours of the day and it's still have never been a quick visit, always waiting 15-20 min, I'd appreciate trying to fix this issue, it seems like a big one

Some of the staff are fantastic and provide great service, but this location needs some help. Drive through ATM always out of envelopes and often is broken down, ATM inside similar issues and has even eaten my card twice, very little foreign currency on site, frequently huge wait times inside, the staff that aren't fantastic are quite rude, and the hours for this (and all branches, actually) branch "due to COVID" are ridiculous, i also bank with TD and their hours are significantly better. Not the fault of this branch, but Coast online banking is super buggy, often crashes or just won't load (website and app).

Avoid this branch/finance institution. In a recent experience dealing with four members of staff, I have never felt like less of a priority. Selling and buying a home is a stressful time, where dates and deadlines matter. Getting calls back or responses to e-mails had never been more difficult. In dealing with the branch manager Roxana Manolescu, who wouldn't make five minutes for me upon visiting the branch, alternatively she also refused to call me back within the same business day. Dealing with her was less than unpleasant and unwilling to help appease my situation in anyway. She had no concern or empathy for my experience but felt very comfortable quoting fine print from a contract. Despite making every effort to be loyal while renewing my mortgage, Coast has now lost my business forever.

Coast Capital Langley needs to change their hours - they open at 9:30am which is so late compared to RBC and TD. I don’t recommend for businesses as they open late and there are NEVER enough tellers working. No separate business lineup. Just frustrating how much time gets wasted waiting here or waiting for it to open. The good thing is the staff are friendly and good service just not cut out for business or volume of customers.

I do not appreciate this bank/credit union. Their technology is lagging behind, and unusable at times. They are hard to reach through telephone, their branches are closed on Mondays and indefinitely closed for COVID. They even close the door to the ATM. They claim to be like a bigger bank but provide services of a smaller credit union. Definitely go with a reputable bank or better credit union.

I have been banking with Coast Capital Savings for years and specifically with this branch since we moved to Kelowna a couple of years ago. I would not want to bank anywhere else. Rude staff and had a major run in with a teller that was condensating and was treating me like a criminal for cashing a govt cheque. Asked to see a manager and she refused. Called their branch and gave a blistering complaint about the way I was treated and was promised a manager would contact to discusd the matter. Never got a call back. Last straw for me and will start the process of changing banks soon. Since they became national they no longer care about the quality of service they give their customers. Avoid at all costs. Used to be good before they went Canada wide but since then they are no longer care about customers and change banking policies without informing customers.

Queensborough location advertises the ATM vestibules close at 9pm until 7am yet several times I have found it locked around 6 to 7pm, what purpose? To lock out homeless? When the branch is closed, the ATM is for customers to acess their funds, most other banks and credit unions are not locking up access to their atms, nor putting up false hours as well. I called the number listed for that branch and it was headoffice, they put me on hold for half an hour and then passed the buck to the branch, no answer left a message and nobody could be bothered to call me back Definitely considering leaving this sorry excuse for a crefit union

I've been with this bank for 3 years and when i opened the account no one had explained that if i used my savings account i would be charged $5 a transaction and i had $495 taken out of my account and i am a single mom and couldn't afford it so i asked them to reverse it and it wont happen again...after a lot of back and forth they finally did ( i had to cry) for them to do so......ever since then (6 months ago) they treat me with zero respect and don't give me any service i had gotten from before the mistake with my savings.... i had lost my id and needed a new bank card they refuse to give me one even though they had given me replacement with no id multiple times before ......by FAR THE WORST BANK EVER

My husband and I decided to renew our mortgage with a different lender as we were not getting the best deal possible and felt that CoastCapital’s customer service had declined recently. Our mortgage was paid off December 1st and yet they have taken two $650 payments out of my Royal Bank account as well as two payments from my husbands account. Last week I decided to go in person to speak to someone at the White Rock branch asking them to stop the payments. After waiting in line for nearly an hour the teller was told to let me know someone would look into it and get back to me. No one did and clearly they also didn’t fix the problem. I’m not sure what else I have to do to stop this. There is a very good reason why they have lost our mortgage and will soon lose the rest of our business also.

I have been in this branch many times and frankly have no idea why anyone would not be satisfied with service there. When I am reading "worst service" I am thinking they probably went to TD Bank not Coast Capital on Marine Drive. I guess it may help to be nice to tellers. Opened account for the rebate, not read the all the info. but did go to the bank ask the front service desk in this branch help me to check if we meet the requirement. the lady check our account and the requirement .and told us we are qualified and just need to wait another 30 days or so. after the waiting, found out auto deposit amount wasn't enough to meet the requirement. come back to talk to the front desk and manager. sorry is the only answer, we were told we should read all the details before sigh the agreement. not even mention any fault of their bank front desk.because there is no notes about the front desk said we are qualified. If I could give this bank a "zero star" rating, I would. I ABHOR this bank. I would absolutely will never bank with Coast Capital again if I can get away from this bank. I took the lower percentage option for a mortgage and switched to your bank two years ago - one of the worst mistakes of my life (and I've made some huge mistakes!). Their app is the worst out there - bar none. The two-step authentication on the app, the multiple passcodes and passwords are ridiculous. The "five day hold" on cheques over $100 policy is ludicrous. The "one teller with a huge line up" issue. I could go on and on about the absolute joke this bank is. The only thing They have going for them are the staff which are amazing and I have no idea why they stay. I have actually listed my home for sale in the hopes that I can sell it, pay off any penalties and get out of this bank as soon as possible. AVOID THIS BANK.

Not impress... Wait in line for 20 min only 2 tellers are open ... They don't bother open another teller with a line up of people.

Really awful experience if there were 0 star I wouldn't even give them that one wasted 2 hrs of our time came home with all wrong info what waste of time....Heather from this branch has no clue how to help client when they r already gone through so much terrible experience ...

If you are closed on Mondays, you should put that in your voicemail recording so that no one has to sit on the phone for 20 minutes for nothing. Just a thought.
