This is the most disorganized joke of a bank I've ever stepped foot in. I've been with sociabank for over 20 years and because of my experience at this location with a particular young blonde woman I will be pullin my accounts and starting fresh somewhere else. The staff doesn't want to help you, unless it's easy for them. They find ways to have you run around and figure out issues if they are not at the home branch linked to your card. It would of taken one simple phone call ( which was done at an other location before) to help us but she refused, even stateing she doesn't trust us personally because we didn't have proof of a banking receipt but she could of called scotia downtown to verify. Who says that in a customer service based business. She does not know who I am nor my organization I had my bank card and ID and she still didn't want to help. I run a small business here in Guelph and don't need this nonsense . I asked her to please call the other bank. She looked at me like "I have to pick up a phone?" Time to hire real adults Scotiabank! I'm sorry I've been with you for over 20 years and that lady at the branch personally said she does not trust me. I have banking history that proves we our good clients. Never given a reason for them to state that, I have a perfect banking history and I have a perfect credit score. Scotia if you randomly don't trust your clients for no parlticualr reason at all then I guess we can't trust to do business with you. At the looks of your current reviews at this location hopefully someone with at least a half a brain will step in soon and run it properly.

It is extremely hard to get service. If you call you are placed on hold for an extended period of time. Business need to realize that service mean helping people, not leaving them on hold. Cutting staff to save money is not a good idea if you want to focus on service.

Tim O'Brien

Awful service. Seek courteous help elsewhere.

Aweful aweful aweful. There is no continuity at this location, not a good characterization for a bank. They got rid of ALL their previous staff when they switched to the Scotia Solutions model, anyone there is new to the branch and there really isn’t many people here as this is an ATM based self-serve concept. Good idea for fast transactions but a really poorly thought out premesis. Firstly, remember this is ATM based so if you have a withdrawal limit yoy’ll have to increase it prior to utilizing the service. Sounds simple but don’t forget you have a limited number of times (3 to be exact) that you can temporarily increase a withdrawal limit at Scotia, unless you want to permanently increase limits... Which isn’t a great idea if your worried about comprimizarion of your cards at any point. Also, keep in mind that staff or phone assistance is strictly regular business hours so good luck utilizing the service after hours and requiring a more complex transaction or larger withdrawal. Secondly, let’s not forget that this is an ATM location so if you have a limited number of transactions they will add up during the month and you’ll pay overages... The concept is great but the fact regular transactions apply as well as limits, it renders a teller-less branch quite useless when you have to follow all the exact rules and restrictions of a standard ATM machine... Also they offer a nice pick your own cash machine, however there is only one and it’s been down for repairs countless times which also destroys the purpose and concept of the location. Great plan, poorly executed. I love it when banks make decisions like this without insight from the customers which provide all the money in which they run their services and make millions in bonuses to higher level executives, all without really caring what the customers want. So my interest rates get worse and worse every year, your profits continually grow, bank fees continually increase and I get no services and a handful of representatives... what exact services rendered verses value for my money and fees am I getting here at this location? Hmmm, great last quarter profits by the way, wonder why?

I have had excellent service at this branch and I get the new setup. most of my banking is electronic and I don't carry change often, so I couldn't care less if they had teller service. Loans, mortgages and investments are what most people go to the branch for and this branch has excellent friendly staff especially the receptionist.

Fantastic experience. Very attentive and didn't waste my time

This rating is not based on the new "teller-less" banking, as the branch has no control over that, and I don’t mind it. This very, very poor rating is 100% based on the staff. We had numerous banking issues with this bank, which they refused to fixed and thought reimbursing us $120 instead of the $340 they owed us due to their mistakes was sufficient. We dealt with Michelle, when we could get a hold of her, I would call and email and it would take a week or more to get a reply. Then when I got sick of that I left not one, but two voicemails’ for both the managers at the branch, and neither decided to call us back. Now I can understand if a customer is being rude, or unreasonable, that dealing with them can be a pain, but we were nothing but understanding with them, even with all the mistakes, until they refused to fix the issue and refused to actually call a client back. Your loss by the way Scotia, we are a young couple who are looking to buy a house very soon, and we just booked a mortgage appointment at another branch. We will never deal with you again, you should also have Michelle take a customer service course, because he skills are lacking... big time.

All the people can do is refer you to an ambiguous computer

SENIOR UNFRIENDLY. After saving for retirement at Scotia Bank for decades, I redeemed a GIC of less than $5000 from my RSP and they charged me a $50 "redemption fee". I guess one way or another they get their pound of flesh, even from seniors !.

Shane

A huge dedicated building with no tellers. Whats the point?

I posted last week and it was not a positive post about our experience over the last 11 years. Since then, there has been resolution with the bank advisor and I received a call from a manager after completing their survey who listened to my concerns. I am hopeful that moving forward, we will have better service than we have had.

Aaron Smith

Although there have been a number of changes to the service at this bank, the current setup still fits the majority of my needs.

Amazing crew they are so happy fun and upbeat I love this location since it's only walking distance away I would never go to any other bank from this day on

Very Good Customer Service . I was welcomed right at the door by a very knowledgeable gentleman. Thanks.????????

Brutal. I looked them up online and had to call to get a fax number. Automated process took me a few clicks to get the fax number. Fax failed six times. I called back and 1:03pm...it is now 1:23pm and I'm still on hold on the line. Took quite a few more clicks to get through to a person who left me on hold with dead air and then said, that's the right fax number. I asked how then do you suggest I get these documents to you? Still on hold.....AND I just got hung up on!!!! Pretty sure my client is not going to be happy about not getting these documents to this branch.

Fazal Chaudhry

Excellent customer service. Surprise to see negative reviews. One has to understand its a cashless branch.

Mohit Goyal

I was a nice experience. Mr. Scott helped me with all my queries. He was very polite and helpful.

Sheila Trask

Can’t call the branch directly. Call Center wait time double their 7 minute estimate and they couldn’t answer my questions. Lack of service is frustrating.

George Vescio

I am very disappointed with this branch. I was just doing some basic banking last Oct and now I have an issue to deal with. The branch did not give me all the correct information up front and did not take steps to correct the issue. I have spent approximately 3 weeks on this issue and it still is not corrected. The real problem is not the mistake, but the fact that I have to fix the issue.

SUPREET SINGH Basra

Worst possible customer service. Even their higher ranked professionals dont care a darn about being professional enough to resolve the issues. Would give them worst negative rating if possible .

I have been struggling to get help with my mortgage at the Clair RD Branch for over two months and am so frustrated with this bank I am evaluating pulling my business. I even wrote the following message to Customer Care a week ago and they too, have not responded: Good morning Customer Care, I initiated a change of covenant to my mortgage in early July with your mortgage specialist ###### at my home branch but am unable to reach her despite multiple phone calls and emails. Additionally, I am very surprised that it has taken over two months so far to have the service executed; This is likely exacerbated by the poor service I have received so far. As reference, I was able to have a similar transaction completed in a couple of weeks on my mortgage at TD. My primary reason for staying with a bricks and mortar Bank as oppose to a more cost effective online Bank is for service in these scenarios. Can I have your assistance in restoring my faith in your customer service by helping me close this matter in a more timely fashion? I await your direction in how to proceed, and my preferred correspondence is an email response to: ###### Thank you, Graham Moore. Save yourself some frustration and bank elsewhere!

One star because it does look cool inside, but unfortunately if you're a small business and need to exchange large bills for coins, they do not carry coins at this branch. If you're looking to sit at fancy couches and withdraw paper money from their new ATMs, then this is the place to be. #renofail

Good customer service . Saira Nasir bank employee specially came to help me and was very friendly amd polite.

Robert Simpson

Recently changed to a new 'bankless' bank. This means no 'in person' cash services only ATM based services. There are staff on hand to talk to about other financial services.

Vanessa Hawkins

Do not go to this branch. Simple banking turned nightmare. Don’t waste your time. The drive through has given me countless problems. Cashless branch, completely useless.

No cashiers, no customer services, just machines, is not a bank, is an ATM, big building, waste space.

Some staffs or even supervisor do not care client. I have both Line Credit (LC) and credit card from the bank. One day I went to the branch and loaned funds from my LC and paid off balance of my credit card. It was actually transferring funds from my LC to my credit card. However, two days later, when I used the credit card to buy gas. It was declined. I phone the credit card service. A lady told me it was declined because I did not pay minum payment on due day. I told the lady I paid all balance at the branch before the due day, and the balance was paid directly from my LC in scotiabank. Then the lady checked it again and said my payment was hold for 5 business day. I did not understand why the funds was hold for 5 business days as it was directly transferred from my Scotiabank LC to Scotiabank credit card. after my explaination, the lady said it should not be hold. Then she let local branch to release my funds and told me I can use my credit card imdediatly. After several (5 or 7) days, I went to local branch and checked whether my funds still was hold, a supervisor told me they made a mistake and the funds had been released. Bad news came again. My card was declined again when used it at Food Basics on weekend after my checking at the branck in person. I phoned the card service and got the anwser that the fund was still hold there. I had to go the branch again to check it. the supervisor said they made a mistake again... I am not really happy with their careless of Scotiabank. Final results are that I got several penalty (fine) as my card link several bills. My next step is to ask Scotiabank to pay these fines.....

In my experience, the employees were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Met with a financial advisor there and got a line of credit quickly and without any hassle whatsoever. The receptionist will make sure to greet you and ask you what you need if you don't use the machines. The branch was also very clean and modern. I personally like the no teller system.

Branch manager is terrible and does not support her customers. I am ending my long time banking relationship because of the poor service from Branch Manager. This manager is not helpful and is very rude

No direct number if you don't know an extension your not getting anywhere no change and of course no coffee i don't know what I'm paying for anymore

Suzanne Hughes

I wouldn't even give them a star but how else do you complain about the service. I asked for an appointment and at one time they had hours into the evenings and Saturdays, but that's no more. They never even called to book the appointment. How is that service, now I need something but they are never open, instead I need to leave my essentials service job to maybe find someone working during my lunch that can help me out. Nope they have the people that can't help on at lunch while the managers are on lunch. I have been with Scotia almost 30 years. I guess it's time to move on.
