With being a first time home buyer, things can be very confusing when trying to apply for your first mortgage and understanding how the process works. Jeff was super helpful at all times. He would go the extra mile to make sure that I understood all of the processes, what I was signing up for, and gave me helpful advice when it came to making offers as to what I could afford. He doesn't just try to make you sign a mortgage at your max value, he gives you the knowledge and the recommendations to ensure you are not going house poor and purchasing within your means. Jeff was also very quick and easy to reach at any time during the day to answer any questions I had. First, it should be known that I hardly ever write reviews because 1. I just don’t have the time or; 2. No one has really impressed me that much. Today, as typical, I find myself swamped with work but I am putting it all aside to write a rare review about the service I received with Jeff Whitmell @diamondmortgages . It was on Monday 28 Jan 2019 that, while chilling on the coach, I came across a beautiful condo in Guelph. I was instantly hooked and knew that this condo had to be mine. Like most people, I was hesitant to take the next steps, because the real estate and mortgage world is complicated and time consuming. Still, a tiny voice in my head said “do it.” Before I knew it, I was emailing this Jeff Whitmell guy who I heard through the grapevine to assist me secure a mortgage. By Thursday, the condo was mine. YES, in FOUR short days I had the condo I was earning for. In those four short days, Jeff basically held my hand through the complicated and very personal process of getting the best mortgage, with the best rate with a highly reputable lender. To add to this impressive feat, Jeff managed to complete my file 100% remotely---2 hours away! In every step of the process, Jeff maintained very clear and timely communication with me, and made the process of transmitting documents to him easier than saying 1, 2, 3. I not only appreciated how fast, seamless and efficient he made this experience, but also how he understood my complex salary, allowance and employment contract as a Military Officer. Look, this is the simple truth of the matter: Jeff is your guy to get you the affordable mortgage you need to get you, and your family, into a home you could only dream of getting. Like he did with me, Jeff will most certainly walk you through all the steps and earn your trust by being transparent, honest and time efficient. I know this to be true---from this day forward Jeff Whitmell will be my mortgage broker for life and one I will be proud to recommend to anyone—near or far.
