E transfers never send, it either takes 30 minutes or it doesn't send at all. Funny how other banks etransfers are instant. Switching banks. Don't bother with these clowns

Hi there my friends My good friend John A. referred us to Pen Financial. We were very unhappy with TD Bank, once a customer for 40 plus years ..TD Bank became arrogant and steel like. They lost the human touch. I met Catharine Palmer ( Financial Services Specialist at the Dorchester Branch ) for our mortgage application... recommended by the ....PenFinancial CEO...from the first minute it was amazing....very welcoming, professional knowledgeable, friendly, understanding, and accommodating. They are competitive and had better mortgage rates and saving interest accounts than all major banks at the time. Sandra Arsenault - Financial Advisor/Mutual Fund Specialist - was excellent and accommodating during the Christmas holiday busy time.....she assisted with such professiolism, quick responses, emails and is very knowledgeable. We are also moving all our RRSPs to Pen Financial. They actually answer the phone. A Great Team with a smile ! Highly recommended for all your banking needs !!! We use PenFinancial because of their great follow-through on commitments. Had an appointment today for my 92 year old Mom with Adam, and somehow times got mixed up. I mentioned it was difficult for my Mom to get out, so Angie stepped right up, checked out Adam's notes, and got everything done for us. Really appreciated.

It is extremely difficult to get confirmation (written) for investments. Takes 2 or 3 phone calls and I am not talking small amounts of money. When these investments come to term I won't be investing with them again

The long: Unprofessional. I would not deal with them, took more than a week to process a loan for a car. I ended up just going to the bank and getting one that day. Tried to contact the person who was dealing with it but they were "in with another client". I left them my contact information and was never called back. I understand that there are busy periods at work but, I felt a bit cheated that I was pretty patient with them. The short: No reason to use as a bank/loan institution due to amount of over worked staff they appear to have.

We sold our house and our lawyers paid off the remainder of our mortgage. Pen financial have in error taken 2 mortgage payments from us since then and have been very rude and unprofessional with all correspondence. It's like pulling teeth trying to get straight answers, very disappointed.

DO NOT USE PenFinancial for a mortgage. In my opinion they do not have the expertise of other credit unions or banks. I was changing my mortgage from Pen to RBC and they told me the break fee was around 13k. I called the branch and a representative tried to tell me they use the posted rate at the time I signed the contract. I had to read the terms to the bank representative that stated they will use the current posted rate at the time you are getting out of the mortgage. I received a call back soon after with an adjusted break fee of around 6.5k. The process to get the correct break fee was a nightmare. They were very slow and made the process stressful probably because they wanted to collect the incorrect 13k.
