I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks now! No one answers the phone or returns my messages. I don’t understand this! I am trying to get an appt.
Horrible!!! A representative made a mistake on my RRSP contribution. A simple clericle mistake should be easy to fix but I was passed from person to person, only in the end to tell me I had to waste more time to come into the branch to sort out some paperworks. They were quick to take money but slow to resolve. In the end, nothing resolved !!! If you like the terrible red tape experience with non-existent customer service, then you should go with them. I would rate zero star if it were possible.
National Bank inaccurately, and unapologetically transmits incorrect financial data into credit reporting agencies, at times overlapping client records that are unrelated. When attempting to resolve National Bank's record keeping through normal channels efforts are unsuccessful until such time that the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services become involved. This bank is the worst. Their lack of communication is the main problem and the long wait times to reach an agent are frustrating. After speaking to 4 agents I finally had the issue resolved. 3 months later and I still see them on my credit report showing that I owe them money. It's unbelievable the amount of time I have wasted trying to resolve 1 issue. I do NOT recommend this bank at all.

My wife and I had a mortgage with this bank. They had a good rate, but they are terrible with keeping appointments and doing things on time. We had our property taxes built in to the mortgage and they screwed up paying it on time twice over our 5-year mortgage term. We found out when we got a letter from the city saying we were being charged a penalty for failing to pay on time. National Bank took responsibility and paid the penalty, but it caused quite a bit of anxiety for my wife and me. We had to arrange a phone appointment to deal with their missed property tax payment and they missed the appointment. We set up another appointment later to cancel the property tax payments so we could just deal with that ourselves to avoid more problems, and they missed that appointment too. Considering the small number of interactions we've had with this bank, that's a lot of screw-ups.
National Bank is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. From online banking, to telephone customer service, to in branch account management, the entire suite of services is a complete mess. For years I referred them mortgage clients because they had a very innovative line of credit mortgage product. But now I truly regret putting my customers through this nightmare ! I have personally experienced how bad this can get.
I am very disappointed with the customer service at this branch. I have called the branch manager and she doesn't have the decency to return my call and answer my question regarding my line of credit.

I had large investments, no more. Wait 30 minutes to talk, got someone with bad accent. They outsource investment strategy (no control over our money) and charged $300.00 to close out my accounts as fees! Stay way During the 12 years invested, they did very poorly compared to all others.

This National Bank Branch is open 9:30-4:30 Monday through Friday, with the exception of Thursday, when they are open until 6.
Excellent service. This is one of the only bank branches with practically zero wait. Very comfortable and welcoming lounge space and friendly staff.

Worst bank EVER, Do not get a mortgage from them, they refuse to deal with issues, they waste your time and pass you along, from department to department. ZERO respect for their customers . Keep a close eye on your property taxes if they pay them for you. If they EVEN REMEMBER to pay them for you!

National banks are too few and far between. Major institutions and corporations cannot direct deposit in the National banks. Finally client and debit do not have touch screen withdrawals. Also as a client for over twenty years I've been known to cash from my trust fund, the only time I brought an uncertified cheque I was told the bank personal weren't allowed to call the bank that issued this trust fund cheque after they faxed a copy of the cheque to the issuing bank to verbally verify the cheque. So I had to wait 5 working days and on top of that I could only withdrawal a maximum of $3000,it turned out that I had to call a day in advance to take my I repeat my money from the National bank . I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on the matters I've just explained in this small tirade of mine. Thank-you to all who respond.

Tried to open an account. Bank doesn't directly provide services to open and I had to book an appointment. Booked appointment but employee canceled it saying I need to provide the documentation. I have provided all documentation and they never tried to get back to me. I did the follow up emails and there was no response either from employee or manager. I even went to bank to track it and they asked to book appointment again. I requested to call me and they never did it again. First of all this is 2021 opening an account shouldn't be that hassle. I opened other accounts online in minutes. The branch services are very poor. Not sure how other branches tackle the account openings. I will not recommend this bank again

Great customer service in the financial district of Toronto. This location is nice and staff are very professional and courteous. They treated you like a family member or an old friend, and went beyond your expectation. I went there for a quick deposit , but ended up spending good one hour or more to open up a complete line of accounts to meet my full range of investment, lending and banking needs. Mary, the customer service manager was such a role model to her staff , she offered me to talk to an advisor (Kevin), who listened to me extensively and tailor made a comprehensive package. Best experience in the down town Toronto area with big banks and financial institutions are at every turn.
Dealing with this bank and its staff was just plain horrible. Took out a loan for a truck and even when the loan was paid in full, the money kept on coming out of my account. Impossible to get a hold of them and they kept on charging daily interest.

Horrible customer service. Nothing like a line up with only one teller open and two people staring at screens, not taking care of actual customers that are present. The National Bank credit card issuer instructs you to attend a branch if you have problems. The branch claims to be unable to help. Have a new card and pin sent in the mail... Come back to finally have the problem fixed and discover that with a little bit of thinking they could have actually helped you two weeks ago without going through the hassle of getting the replacement card. I have no idea why anyone would bank here.

This is the first time i've ever been to a National Bank. This is the head office. I had very old AMEX Travellers Cheques. When I wanted to cash it, I found most banks won't cash them any longer! with Google, I found out National Bank is the only bank in Canada that is still willing to cash them. They had two tellers. One was on the phone. The other appeared after 3 mins and served the person in front of me. A few mins later, after the phone call was over, I was served. She was willing to cash it but said it is not fair that the bank that issued it no longer honours it.
I recently switched to National Bank from Scotiabank due to their excellent rates and programs offered to healthcare professionals. The advisor I've been working with is always helpful and very friendly. No major complaints though I do wish there was more than one branch in the city or other ATMs available.
UPDATE: next working day bank called me and processed my request before I reached branch hence increasing ratings for their customer centric approach. My recent experience was very bad. Banker refuses to solve my problem even they have enough time(10 minutes) before closing hours. During this pandemic I tried to avoid in person visits and they are forcing me to visit often. Also they have reduced their working hours so you are force to visit bank during your working hour for which you are neither going to paid by employer nor bank. It was not something not doable they just have to communicate with my home branch and issue me the debit card. Ever I offered them if they cannot I can call my home branch person and help them to communicate. The situation is I will miss all my coming payments since my money stuck in bank account.

I wish there was a ZERO start rating for this particular review. We have had the worst customer experience of our lives in dealing with this "bank"., especially the Upper Wellington branch. Throughout the dealings with them during our mortgage term, we were faced with misinformation and a basic lack of caring about our concerns. Then, when we had enough and switched our mortgage elsewhere, we had to deal with incompetence, more misinformation that caused a delay in receiving our discharge statement and then to be followed up complete arrogance and attitude from the so called branch manager. It is a true test of your dedication to customer service when faced with losing someones business and this branch has totally failed in this regard. I am disgusted that we were treated like this and am extremely thankful to be rid of them.

Probably the only NBC branch in GTA that knows how to do commercial banking properly. My appreciation for them has grown since the pandemic started and this branch has to be temporarily closed.
Here's another review for this. Why should I stay with national bank, when there's many other options where they're actually open after 5pm and the one and only location in fredericton is only open till 4h30???? Working from 8-5 ( which is literally before NBC opens and I leave AFTER it closes ) is nice and all, but I cannot for the life of me go to my own bank due to the hours ( where I used to live, NBC would be open thursday nights till 7 to allow people who work mornings to actually go in for their business. Edit : see someone swapped it to 24 hours, unsure if they're trying to be funny but I inquired their hours. Monday to Wednesday 10-4 and Thursday Friday 10-5. Again, this business doesn't accommodate its customers and I'll potentially be changing banks quite soon. TY national for your services thus far.

I should have listened to the reviews... NBC offered me a slightly better rate than other banks and a nice promotional discount on my mortgage and accounts. When they set up my accounts, the discount was nowhere to be seen and they had my billing information wrong. I was able to have my billing information fixed in the branch, but after 12 months of them ignoring my emails and telling me it would be "fixed on my next statement" in person, the best they could do for me was honor %20 of the value of the promotion. They did not refund the fees I had to pay due to them setting up my billing incorrectly. Don't make my mistake. Make sure any promotion they offer you is being advertised on the corporate website and is explicitly typed out on a signed document for you. They lied to my face to make a sale!
Applied for an MC1 Mastercard online. Approved & Recieved a letter stating I needed to visit a branch to show my Ontario drivers license. Came into this branch & I was told the paperwork would be send to Mastercard department. I called the credit department to verify. The representative told me the branch did not sign the document to finalize the Mastercard process. Frustrated because I am now delayed because of the branch rep's error. Very displeased with this huge error.
Very disappointed with the service from National Bank. I was forced to do business with them when I obtained a vehicle loan. Would not give me a bank account to see the balance of my loan online with out paying a $4 monthly fee and was treated with a very condescending attitude. If I made a lot more money (doctor or lawyer) they would be willing to give me a free account How does this made sense? Now I cannot do anything online without an account so I try and call. Impossible to get anyone on the phone, terrible phone system and wait times. I will be obtaining a new loan from another bank right away to remove any dealing I have with the bank.

Great interest rates for a mortgage but if you need help with anything good luck. On hold for over an hour just to be transferred twice then hung up on. Tried calling the branch and they don’t even answer the phone. When I came into the branch I called again as I hear the phone ringing I see 2 employees just walking around and then when I show the teller she says “no one is going to answer that” wow. I have always had great customer service at the Thornton road branch. They have assisted me many times on issues that I have had and have been wonderful with day to day banking. Never wait in line long for a teller. Special mention to Theresa that is always courteous and helpful whenever we need the assistance. Only issue I have is with the internet banking solutions both with the personal and business applications.
When I set NBDB with some difficulty, I choose to go the branch to get things sort out. The bank staff answers "No, we are different, we do not do anything about NBDB"

Poor and inadequate service. I had an issue with a MasterCard Application, Call Center Agent advised to visit the branch, and I chose this one. The Teller at this branch was unwilling to help, simply stating the branch doesn't know / have anything to do with MasterCard applications. As a client, I asked the branch to reach the call center to understand the issue, the branch refused. There is a direct line at the branch that can reach the call centre agent directly, the branch refused to communicate internally. In the end, the customer was asked to go call the call center and figure it out himself, knowing that the customer had gone through multiple call and was in Queue for over 30 minutes every call already ... Compared to other banks, the competitors are providing a way better customer service than this branch.

Every since the day I walked into the advisor's office, I didn't feel any confidence in the knowledge of the advisor. I had to guide him on how to structure a deal and then had to wait over 2 weeks for a reply to find out they cannot handle or compelte sophisticated, complex client files. I would never recommend or step another foot at any national Bank
What bank doesn't allow after-hours ATM use? Complete garbage bank, waste of leasing space to real banks that allow for greater real life customer servicing and not just for customers with "ideal working hours".
For starters, this branch in Victoria, being the only National branch on the island, has ridiculous operating hours. Currently, this branch is open weekdays till 3pm and is closed on the weekends. We live 3 hours away, in Comox Valley, and my spouse, who works for Canadian Military, can not leave his duties and can never make it to the branch during its operating hours. We had a closing on a property we were purchasing and needed a bank draft for the cash down amount that very day. The bank draft had to be made to, of course, ‘IN TRUST' to the notary firm. My spouse couldn't make it to the branch in person, I don't have access to his account, and we don’t have a joint account. So we looked into National's policies and drafted a Power of Attorney that would allow me to perform certain transactions on his behalf. So, armed with all the legal documents, notary’s information, PoA letter signed and dated, and our IDs, my spouse sent me to Victoria to get the bank draft on his behalf. Well, turns out, for me to have PoA that is recognized by this branch, my spouse would still have to show up in person to verify his identity and to confirm that I do in fact have the PoA. At this point we were seriously considering moving our business and mortgage to another bank. Then comes the branch manager. She kindly agreed to accommodate us after operating hours, she got in touch with the bank manager at our home branch in Quebec and our mortgage advisor to vouch for my spouse and verify his identity remotely. They did their magic over the phone. It took a couple hours of back and forth phone calls, but at the end the bank draft was done. Thanks to her professional knowledge, common sense, patience and understanding, she saved us a great deal of trouble. Its so easy to dismiss someone and just say “Sorry, but this is our branch's policy”. It takes time and compassion to find a creative solution to help. Unfortunately, most people would not even bother. Big thanks to Rita Liu for helping us in our special situation, and to Toni Sandico for assisting me in this matter. This was the best customer service I’ve ever received! We are very happy customers!

Since moving here last November I have been treated with the utmost respect and the service has been excellent. I was concerned as I had been dealing with the National Bank in Aurora, Ontario for over 30 years. Informative, polite staff. always at the Douglas, Victoria branch.
Save yourself a big trouble. Stay away from this bank. Their online services suck so hard you end up coming to bank always. Got cc lost called to get it shut down. No automated services. Waited 1.5 hr to speak to agent. Card used in meantime. Ordered new cc. Again waited half hour to speak to agent. She asking all these questions totally unrelated saying for security and survey purposes. Said either answer or cc cant be activated. Asked to close down account and send paperwork. Again end up going to branch.

I’ve initiated a transfer out since March. It’s now May, and National Bank hasn’t done anything, giving me the runaround for weeks now. No one is providing me with answers. Very frustrating and awful service.

I wouldn't do any type of business with this bank. I am constantly having to call and inquire about why money just magically disappears frequently from my account and then they give some of the most ridulously stupid answers. For example I get charged $5 if bank fees aren't there... okay that's fine but they started charging me this $5 fee everytime I used my card meanwhile my plan is unlimited. Customer service proceeds to tell me that I was charged a $5 fee because I took out 60 dollars out of the machine but there was only "$50.60" I don't have overdraft so if don't have $60 guess what... ZERO dollar bills are coming out of the machine. Customer service wants to argue with you rather than listen to you and the wait times are ridiculous. Also be prepared to be put on hold 3 to 4 times. I've been on the phone for an hour because I noticed money missing from my account totalling $40.

Well, here it is. I tried calling the branch to let them know how rude their CS rep but no one picked up my call. Everything was okay with me banking with this branch until today when I dealt with Yuki at the teller. I took some cash and was specific with my denominations. She tried to count in front of me but she was doing it so fast that she lost the count and stumbled. I told her to just count it by the number of bills to make it easier for both of us since I know the addition myself. She took it the wrong way and got upset by raising her tone. I thought she was rude. She shouldn't be like that and she should change her attitude towards her customers and if she wants to keep her job as a customer service rep, she should be more polite to clients. I will try to avoid her next time and if I can't, I will just have to deal with the machine. People like her shouldn't be at the desk at all. She should listen to her customers and be more nicer. We all have opinions and sometimes customers are right.

Worst bank ever. Horrible app. Slow in person service. Inefficient customer service. The bank is incompetency personified. What took the cake was, the bank wouldn't even increase my credit limit from $500 when there are other banks offering to provide 6 times that right off the bat. Great way to lose customers.
Great branch with professional and friendly staff. They take care of your business quickly with caring attitude. Branch has new people at front line, however my request was done in a fast and higly intellegent manner, which means they really responsible for every client they served and properly trained employees. 5 stars for Zoey and Teller lady only. Was extremely difficult to get in touch with someone to pay off loan early. Left messages on 4 different numbers to call. All seemed to be the same recording, head office perhaps. Finally ZOEY phoned me back after calling a local number and advised me on how I could take care of things. The following day I had to drive to city. Everything was in order for me to just pay, get receipt and carry on with my day. The ladies there are an absolute pleasure to deal with and we’re very knowledgeable. This was a snowmobile loan from a dealer (yami) , the only downside to financing a snowmobile purchase is not being able to pay off a loan when you make a call 5 days earlier. This effected my purchase of the one I wanted. It was sold during the time it took me to pay off my other loan early. I should note I DID GET CALLS BACK....they were automated surveys for service provided....... yeah. Drove me nuts. Summary, go directly to branch. Don’t even bother with phoning. Ladies are pleasant, very apologetic and despite loosing the machine I wanted (in stock) was happy with the service from them directly.

I recently had a great experience with Kathie. She is attentive and gets things done. However, I am trying to contact the branch in her absence and even the 1-888 number and can't get through. Answering the phones in a timely manner should be top priority.
Very friendly bank with nice bank teller. Clean inside area. This branch has safety box. There are limited parking lot behind of bank. There are two ATM machines inside of the bank.
I've been banking here for 11 years and have income from a USA retirement account that comes to me in a U.S. dollars check. This transaction cannot be accomplished at the automated teller machines so I am required to go to the window and do the transaction with a teller. The laws in the U.S. do not allow my my retirement income to be direct deposited into a Canadian bank account thus I must receive my retirement in the form of a paper check. Every time I visit the bank to do this transaction (make this deposit), EVERY TIME, the bank has a representative walking up and down the line questioning people for their need to be in the line and trying to remove clients from the line and direct them to the ATM. It is not unusual for them to question you multiple times in the same visit if the line is long and moving slowly. This has been the bank's standard procedure for about 2 years now. It is my opinion that a bank should not force each customer to state aloud their reason for being in a line to receive service from a teller. It is UNACCEPTABLE that this is the policy, because it means the other clients in line can hear my private banking needs. Considering that I have been doing this transaction at this branch for 11 years and only this transaction I ever do, you might think that the people working their might know me by sight and relent on asking me over and over and over......but no. A policy that tries to force each customer out of line and over to the automated teller line says to me that the bank does not want to provide service via a real person. I suspect that the positive reviews here are generated mostly by business customers who have a different line/cue to stand in and a different level of service.

I was so frustrated walking in because I called 10 times the past week to book an appointment but could not get through. Online booking system did not work on me. I just came on a Saturday as it is the only time I can come. I knew it was not open for transactional service but since the advisory services are open on Saturday, I just came in with a slight chance of meeting someone to at least book an appointment. As I rang the bell, Effy came out and was so kind and tended to my frustration. She went so overboard to help our situation and so kindly answered all of our questions and booked an appointment. Puja also offered to call back to reply to our question in an hour. Thank you ladies for your help and kindness.
I needed to open up a bank account for my daughter and we were under extreme time constraints. The staff was understanding and did their absolute best to accommodate the last minute request. Without an appointment they were able to squeeze us in the same afternoon on a Saturday. It all worked out. Mission accomplished. Thank you Puja, Ashley, Ola and Viji. Two or three weeks after we received a call that our blank cheques were ready we went in to pick them up. To my astonishment Ashley still remembered us by name and quickly grabbed them and had us on our way within minutes. The fact she remembered us after all that time is a testiment to the great customer service at that branch. I plan to make it my home branch because it is that attention to detail that makes all the difference as a customer.

Ever since I opened my account at this branch, the service has always been great. Marc and Asha are very friendly, easy to work with, knowledgable and very patient, taking the time to explain everything you need to know. Even when I come into the bank for something simple, they always come by and ask about my day and make sure everything I need is taken care of!
Upper Wentworh branch: I wish I could negative stars, worst customer service among all banks in Canada. I feel stuck as I have mortgage with them, thank god I deal with TD for everything else. Since last year I,m working for my Heloc with them, still didn't get it. The advisor never respond to emails - its been months now. I met with the advisor couple of weeks ago, still no further action and no response to email. don't understand how they are surviving with this level of service. I hope this message gets to the manager.
Talk about putting the screws to you. They decided they wanted to start charging me $6 per month for my line of credit. That would just be the monthly fee whether I used it or not. That was not in the original agreement but after 5 years they decided the interest alone wasn't enough. I am moving my account as soon as I can.

I went to the bank with the intention to close my investment account. But I ended up being sold some other mutual fund. And I have to open another account just to have access to online banking faster. The worst part is that I forgot my password, and the advisor didn't help me set up the security questions, or give me my new account's number at the time. Now I find out they don't open on weekends. The customer service has limited operation hours. I have just opened accounts with two other banks and they are not like this. I agree with other reviewers that this bank has quite a bit of room for improvement. After this experience, I will rather sell their mutual funds and just buy their stock (TSX:NA). All these savings on customer services should increase bottom line. ...National Bank replied to this post. I was finally able to access my account on Sunday morning. I will raise my rating to three star because of their prompt reply and their phone line support.

I have been banking with NBC for many years and they have always been very quick to help. Staff are very kind and friendly. Recommendation: I would make the recommendation that all staff have a refresher training or basic course on what the RRSP T2033 form is and how to handle those for customers who want to transfer into their NBC RRSP or trading accounts. I find I have to explain myself each time I bring the form in, even when I have Page 1 complete with all details. Thanks.

Also there is a reference to alternate locations to use after hours. Please provide where those might be. I believe the bank needs to be more accommodating to the needs of it’s clients, even for one or two days per week. Why not open for four hours on Saturday?

Want to give 0 Star. So not professional. Not many branches as one of big banks. Not customer friendly at all. Not convenient. Several days ago, I wanted to take a money order and they said they needed to get an approval from the home branch. It was urgent and I asked when it can happen and they say "I don't know". I asked what is the maximum amount I can withdraw without the permission and they said "There is no maximum amount." I asked if I can't even withdraw 3000 $ in cash which I can do at any other bank. Then they said I can only do that instantly otherwise I need to order a few business days to get money with a cheque or something. I asked them if there's another way to facilitate this process because it was urgent and one representative or probably a manager looking woman said "You can go to the home branch." I said "It is in Quebec city." She said "I know." I doubted my ears. I'm closing the account and I'm never going to do any business with National bank. It is not the only branch where I had bad experience.

The lady who handled my travelers checks exchange was very rude through out, despite managers/supervisors being around. They also have no clue of where the fees come or how they're calculated. Instead ask me to call MS MS(Amex ;). You'll are the bank charging the fees. How do you'll not know. Felt rushed over all. Only bank accepting Travelers checks in Canada. Had to go through this ordeal.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Have been trying to reach my banking advisor for last 3 weeks. The voicemail goes to someone else's. She is not responding on emails. The receptionist is always unavailable to answer calls. Do not expect a callback within the same business day as they claim in their voicemail. Receptionist told me she has booked a phone appointment with the mortgage advisor but never received a call.

Aside from dozens of online and phone issues I’ve had, it’s not any better in person. After trying to fix my e-transfer which has been broken for over a year and having no luck online or over phone, I made an in-person appointment. No employee (including the person they had scheduled the appointment with) had any idea how to help me or who to contact and completely gave up helping me in about 30 minutes and ended the appointment. I cannot recommend a banking company (or location) less. I’ve been working on these issues for YEARS hoping that something will change, but I’ve emailed branch managers, set in-person appointments, and called the company numerous times and done my best to give them the benefit of the doubt but nothing has changed. I warn everyone I know about it and advise them to switch. Completely frustrating and disheartening.
Terrible bank. Mostly automated service. Never can get through to a live person to help. Paid a loan off with the national bank and they neglected to report the payment to the credit bureau. Which in turned tanked my credit.
This is the only branch which is open. The staff is very cooperating and they are very willing to help. I got excellent service. I went for three different transactions and was expecting at least 30 minutes. Two people worked on it and everything was done in 20 minutes. I am giving 4 stars as it took me 30 minutes to find a parking.

VERY BAD IRRESPONSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The girl sitting at customer service named Aurelia not willing to help you at all. I Just ask her if she can check about one transaction from my account about my daughter's university fees if it is gone from my account or not because it was the last day to pay the tuition fee other wise my child not able to attend the university this year. Because I don't have any receipt for that transaction she said she is not able to help. I told her this matter is very critical if she can do something to check, but her answer is strait "NO SHE CAN NOT HELP" until I approach myself to their customer service manager to solve this issue. Customer service manager just told me your payment has not been done to the university because the teller did not proceed the payment to university. Instead of payment she deposit that money to my account. Customer service manager said that she is not able to solve the problem as the teller who did transaction for me was on vacation and I have to wait until she comes back from vacation. This matter was very time sensitive since my daughter's due date of admission acceptance with tuition fee payment was due next day. I am very disappointed with their customer service as I am their customer from last 18 years. If I personally did not recheck about my daughters fee transaction she probably not able to attend her university this year. severely irresponsible customer service.

I definitely do not like National Bank. I learned the hard way don't trust banks. They are only getting this good of a review because of their Customer Service Representative Nada. GIVE THAT LADY A RAISE. Excellent customer service so helpful, patient and kind. I was screwed over by the false advertising of their cashback and was constantly getting the runaround between this branch and head office. Eventually I spoke with Nada who was just a wonderful rep. They always make me feel listened to, and have been so patient with me, as I had a lot of questions regarding my situation. They always communicate with me in a timely manner, and made me feel like I was in good hands. I absolutely love the service I get at this National Bank location. Highly recommend.
My partner and I have recently opened a personal account with National and we had a great experience with this branch. Amit, the branch advisor, was a great help walking us through different account options and available promotions and gave us the chance to decide the best option. He was always available to answer our questions through email with a one-day response time which was very convenient and satisfying. He also gave me a call whenever I had a question to provide me with right answers that I was looking for. I personally think this is the better way of treating the clients compared to other known banks that you have to wait a long time to get back from them with template answers.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Not from 71 king street location itself but from national bank service as a whole!! If thinking of using national bank as your service dont do it, go elsewhere! My personal experience was this.... the bank close to me was closed a fee years ago so the closest 1 is a 45 minute drive. A customer had given me $2200 in cash, we went to the city 45 minutes away to do back to school shopping today, on a Sunday, so I stopped at the bank to deposit this cash. I put it in the machine as you should, after 46 items in counting and showing on the screen the screen went blank, the machine shut down, reloaded, then spit my card back out and the screen said this abm out of service. I never got any slip, no confirmation that I even deposited it. The money did not go in my account. I called the 1-800 #, spoke with a gentleman that had a really hard time understanding english, I had to repeat the same thing over and over. He puts me on hold and says he will check into it and get right back to me. Over 32 minutes later he came back on the line and said he opened an inquiry and it would take a minimum of 10 business days to check into this. I told him that is unacceptable and it needed to be figured out today but he was very rude and told me that's all he could do. Unbelievable terrible service and they are not there to help their customers clearly! It was a computer issue clearly and those things happen but to be told it will be a minimum of 10 business days is absurd! I would expect someone would open that bank machine and see the money there and rectify this at the very latest the next business day but no, not there to help at all! So in saying this I would highly recommend using any other bank than National!! I know I will be switching once they decide to give me my money that their machine ate!!!! UPDATE: In response the the response I got from the "owner" that their must be a misunderstanding with the agent and to call the branch. I just called. Explained it all again and was told they only open the machines to balance them on Friday so it would be after that. That's great help, have to wait another business week to know when I may get my money back or deposited into my account because of their failed abm machine. I asked for it to be taken care of today and was simply told no!!

Paid off my car loan 8 months ago only to try to sell my car and find out there is still a lean on it. Definitely put me in one of the most embarrassing spots in my life. Call to see what is up. Ask to speak to a Manager. Speak with Michelle from the kitchener office. She proceeds to lie to me. Insisting she has no idea what's going on and then decided to blame the government.... I already had the issue resolved by the teller. Obviously it was a mistake on their part or it couldn't have been fixed. Something about a financial institution lying to me about an unusual set of circumstances is off setting. I would try a loan shark before ever Using these crooks!
We did mortgage through Mr Vince Sacino. He was very helpful and resourceful. Well versed with his job. He clarified our doubts and completed our mortgage in a timely fashion. We greatly appreciate whatever he has done for us. National Bank should be proud to have an employee like him. He is an asset to National Bank. We are also thankful to Kelvin, Pooja & Maria for their excellent service each time we go to National Bank at Winston Churchill Branch in Mississauga.
Easily the worst bank I've dealt with. On August 10th someone opened an account with them after hacking my CRA account. They then changed my direct deposit to the National Bank of Canada and applied for CERB. I contacted the CRA and fixed this but when I called the national line for NBC and spoke with someone from their fraud department they said there was nothing they could do and to go to a branch in person. I gave the guy the branch and account number and he still wouldn't do anything even though the account is being used for fraud. I work during the banks horrible business hours 10-3 and don't live anywhere near downtown Edmonton. You think that calling to report a fraudulent account would cause their fraud department to take action. Well not at this bank. Stay as far away as you can and bank with a reliable bank like RBC, TD and CIBC.

Well worth the Drive! I recently made the drive from Guelph to visit this branch to get a bank draft. The staff was very prompt, courteous and very pleasant to deal with. Sladana provided me with sound advice on how to take advantage of my All-in One mortgage that I currently had established with this branch. My husband and I have a mortgage with this bank and, though the rate is good, the customer service is severely lacking. I wanted to inquire about our existing mortgage and changing from variable to fixed but it's impossible to get a human on the phone. Nothing but phone trees and voicemail. I left a message for a local mortgage broker who didn't return my call. When I tried again, and he actually answered, he said he didn't do existing mortgages (though he would email the branch manager for me). I tried the "National Bank Financial" and they were zero help as well. I spoke with live human who only searched the web to provide me with the branch phone number that I had already called.
This branch has very rude staff except of one young lady who is new , I am glad I have moved out of Midland and would rather visit one of the Northern Credit Union branches.

They have screwed up my mortgage twice, terrible customer service, they refused to let me withdraw a large sum of money from my account today saying there was a problem with their system so I asked if I could get a certified cheque and close my account and they told me this branch doesn’t write cheques. Have you ever heard of a bank refusing to let you take out your own money or write a cheque!!!?? What kind of a bank doesn’t issue cheques!?!? It’s criminal.

One of the best customer services I have ever seen in any bank. Very friendly and professional staff. The branch advisor (Natalia), customer service manager (Mary) and representatives (Asha, and Lucy) all helped me with my banking needs and were really helpful and courteous.
