OK for the basics but nothing extra. Atmosphere is pretty cold here, staff just going through the motions, not much friendliness or warmth. The location is handy for us and we appreciate discount on fees and no print fees for statements at ATM, but otherwise, definitely room for improvement.????

I am so surprised that they only got 2.9 rating on google reviews. Everyone I spoke with from this branch, provides excellent customer service, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I have lost my wallet, and ask them to issue an new bank card for me without ID on July 26th. The attention to detail provided by the front desk guy( forgot to ask his name) was impressive and he is a fine ambassador for the company. Ralph Jumawan helped me for all my requests. His service is smooth,straightforward and save me a lot of time. His service was spot on. Overall, Fantastic location! Excellent customer service! Efficient process!

This location is brutal. That's the only word that comes to mind when I think of it. When I walk in it just feel so negative and they never have enough staff... I wonder why? I will be making the drive to the Ira Needles location even though I live 5 minutes away from this location. I would give zero stars but that's not an option. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone at all.

Don’t think the banker helped me understand what he was talking about. It seems like he was trying had to get into an argument with me where clearly the information was incorrect. Not sure if he understands what products or promotion CIBC has. Didn’t bother looking at my situation completely and start telling me incorrect information.

I have never been to a worse bank....the employees (the 2 that seem to always be working the teller stations) are so rude.. Seems like they are selective as well - they're nice and chatty with people who are Persian (like they are) but they can't have a normal conversation with people of other ethnicities. It's weird. I've never had a problem at any other CIBC location... I know I will never come to this one again.

This place recently renovated and there is a lack of information on what can be and cannot be done at this branch. Customers are expected to find out things by themselves, when you take the time to go there and find out you can't do something, you need to go to another branch.

I’ll be the first to say when I’ve had a ridiculous experience. I’ve had a checkered past with this branch. From incomplete account applications, to missed paperwork and lost mortgage rates. Here have been bad times my friends. Despite the issues of the past, the branch is now a place filled with competent, friendly staff who are a pleasure to work with!

TLDR; Great people, great location for ATM banking and financial planning, would recommend for all day to day banking that doesn't require a teller. Deanne was incredible! I went in with numerous questions and concerns about my account, credit and savings, and I left feeling certain I made the right choice to stay with CIBC. She truly went above and beyond for me; she provided excellent customer service and retention, was personable and professional, understanding, patient, kind, compassionate - I feel very lucky to have met with her. Overall, I am really happy with my experience the goals I have set and am feeling very fortunate to have had such amazing support at this branch. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, good location for ATM banking or financial planning. Thank you!

Completely useless branch. Cash is at the ATM only, and the machine can not provide all the bills. What kind of bank does not deal with cash? Inside was empty with only two staffers. One manager was extremely rude because I asked to split some bills to smaller ones.

Hate to say it, but I am not happy with this branch. I phoned ahead to their branch needing to ask an important question, to save myself the drive over there to ask. I called several times and nobody picked up. So finally I drove there (assuming they must be busy due to not answering my many calls) only to find a virtually empty bank with three employees standing there chatting with each other. it was 3 young girls. I asked them why nobody answered the phone, they looked at me like I was speaking another language. Terrible customer service.

Not a review of a location, but the bank itself. They randomly put holds on my paychecks for no reason, make me wait on hold for more than half an hour EVERY time I call, and when they answer, whatever system they need to use to help you is usually down. Worst bank in Canada.

The ambience of this place was very good. You can have a great time pass, while waiting for the bank staff on the lounge area that has several computers. This was a great idea and I haven’t seen in any other banks. It is located in New Westminster sky train station which is quite convenient. The customer service was really bad as they were short of staff.

Visited this branch twice. The first time it was a great experience. Jason and Patrick explained the process of mortgage renewal in details and patiently answered all the questions I had. On the second occasion, I waited for an hour but still couldn't get my issue resolved. The gentlemen who helped me was nice. Booked an appointment online to this location. When I arrived the person I was to meet with was the teller, and wouldn’t be available because “everyone else was on lunch”. Also that “she’s new anyways so wouldn’t be able to help you”. When I spoke to the manager they literally told me “You should have booked somewhere else. I just tried to deposit into the atm again and it rejected my entire deposit. What is the point of a bank I can’t even deposit money into?

Worst experience at all. Long lineups and all that person on the frontdesk can do - is only send you with your inquiries to ATM or other branch after 20 min staying in line. Staff is rude and pushy during phone call after getting email feedback with 8 points or less. But honestly even 8 points are way more than they deserve. Just wasting space. CIBC should shut down this location or add more helpful or qualified staff.

Even prior to covid this location has been useless. The "no cash" policy not only affected me but also other individuals but also businesses I saw wanting to do cash transactions. The ATMs are only where you can deposit or withdrawal cash from so if you need to get change for your small shop or withdrawal larger then your limit on your card do not go here. It's the first bank I have ever seen that has had this policy of "no cash". Even now during covid they are closed which makes no sense as CIBC felt this location would be helpful for clients with physical cash. I needed a new bank card today and I see they are closed. This location was useless to me prior to covid and now confirms it still remains useless. CIBC should rethink their business model for this location or shut it down and let another business open in the location.

Have been with CIBC for many years and by far this is the most pathetic branch I have ever been to when it comes to service. 1. the renovations last year have left the layout of the building confusing. 2. EVERY TIME I go in, the person (usually a woman) working the front desk doesn't greet, and 9/10 times is quite rude. 3. Upon going into cash cheques, I will go in and get directed to an ATM, unless I want to open an account, i am automatically just directed towards the ATM. 4. despite being the only customer in the building you will still wait 15+ minutes for service. This location is the closest to my house, the next closest location is an extra 18 minute drive. It takes less time to drive to the further location, cash my cheque, and get home than it does from this location. The only positive to using this location is the dollar store next door so you can buy snacks for the wait you'll be doing at the bank.

There are no tellers at this CIBC branch. Wait times can be quite long as a result. While the staff who work there are nice and apologize about wait times, it seems like a strange business model (apparently these are called "advice based centres". Please bring back your customer service, CIBC!

This location used to be great mainly thanks to it's staff. But after the renovations which resulted in removing all tellers, all of their senior employees soon left and since then I've had horrible experiences repeatedly. A visited this location for financial advice and followed their recommendations to resolve my situation. Later I found out that I was ripped off. On another occasion I went to this branch to deposit a USD cheque. They told me that I need to go to the Lonsdale branch to do the transaction. Later I found out that they were wrong and have wasted my time.

Not all branches are the same and I really want to give this one a shout out. This branch has been extremely helpful in our entire financial process. We have been with CIBC for a very long time and I have always been very satisfied, but this branch takes it to another level. We were looking for a proactive financial advisor due to the lack of attention from our previous financial advisor. This branch ensured everything was transferred properly and with little effort from us. In the end, it was all worth it. We gave CIBC one more shot under the watch of Anna and Bilal and I am happy that we did. Bilal is exactly what we were looking for when it comes to our financials. He reviewed our account prior to meeting, had a solid plan on how it was to be handled, and gave us an explanation in simple English. No high-level financial chat He took his time and accommodated us on a Saturday. He went through every account in detail and as well as options. Ignorant robotic less than human reps. With the level of service, I would suggest replacing all ‘human’ reps with robots. If the training is such at CIBC in general to reduce the human experience by reducing empathetic response patterns, the robots would do a much better job. (Translated) Bad experience for a mortgage loan. We got a mortgage pre-approval a month ago.... The time has come to start funding. The director informs me that the banker is on leave, that there is no one in charge to resume these follow-ups... and that I had to wait for him to come back in a week... I informed him of the deadlines and my worries...but nothing to do, I had to wait for his return. To reassure myself, I made an appointment online with my banker at the branch. I even get an email confirmation... On the day of the appointment, I am informed that the banker is still not back (No one informed me before the trip)... finally the director puts me in contact with another banker... (This could have been done the week before). Given the additional delays and my bad experience, I decided to do business with another banker who took the trouble to listen to my needs and concerns and took care of me right away. So I went back to the branch to collect my documents...and the manager asked to speak to me. She does not invite me to her office and speaks to me in front of these 2 employees who are not involved in this story.... She explains herself constantly and that it is not the error of the Bank. When I try to give my opinion on this experience, she replies that I don't have to explain myself... So why does she want to have this discussion? I continue to listen to him and after 5 minutes I ask him these questions: Why was I not informed that my Banker was absent? Why has no one taken over? Why did she ask me to wait 1 week knowing that I had a tight deadline, when she could put me in touch with another banker? I received no response.... (Original) Mauvaise expérience pour un prêt hypothécaire. Nous avons obtenu une pré-approbation hypothécaire , il y a un mois.... Le moment venu pour débuter le financement. La directrice m'informe que le banquier est en congé, qu'il n'y a personne en charge pour reprendre ces suivis... et que je devais attendre qu'il revienne dans une semaine... je lui ai informé des délais et de mes inquiétudes...mais rien à faire, je devais attendre son retour. Pour me rassurer j'ai pris un rendez-vous en ligne avec mon banquier à la succursale. Je reçois même une confirmation par courriel... Au jour du rendez-vous, on m'informe que le banquier n'est toujours pas de retour ( Personne ne m'a informé avant le déplacement)... finalement la directrice me met en contact avec un autre banquier....( Ceci aurait pu être fait la semaine d'avant). Vu les délais supplémentaires et ma mauvaise expérience , j'ai décidé de faire affaire avec un autre banquier qui a pris la peine d'écouter mes besoins et soucis et m'a pris en charge tout de suite. Je suis donc repasser en succursale pour récupérer mes documents...et la directrice demande de me parler. Elle ne m'invite pas à son bureau et me parle devant ces 2 employés qui ne sont pas impliqué dans cette histoire.... Elle s'explique sans cesse et que ce n'est pas l'erreur de la Banque. Quand je tente de donner mon avis sur cette expérience, elle me répond que j'ai pas à m'expliquer...Alors pourquoi tenez-t-elle à avoir cette discussion? Je continue à l'écouter et au bout de 5 minutes je lui pose ces questions: Pourquoi je n'ai pas été informé que mon Banquier était absent? Pourquoi personne n'a pris sa relève? Pourquoi est-ce qu'elle m'a demande d'attendre 1 semaine tout en sachant que j'avais un délai serré, alors qu'elle pouvait me mettre en contact avec un autre banquier? J'ai reçu aucune réponse......

Absolutely the worst branch. I came to deposit a cheque. Was told unless it was a bank draft or a certified cheque there would be a hold. So I called the issuer and was told I could go to any TD bank branch and have it certified. I went to the TD near by. Had it certified and came back to CIBC. I was told by Layla or loyla that everything is cleared and good to go. So I left. But to my surprise the card was declined so I came back after failing to get anyone on the phone. Just to be told that yes indeed there was a hold and because there is no managers to sign off on it the hold will be in for 5 business days. If I wasn’t in such a hurry and if it wasn’t such an emergency I would have said ok. But circumstances being what they are I asked if there was anyway to get it released. I was told that if TD confirms that they certified it she can release the funds other wise nothing but because I needed some funds available she said she can do 2000 max 3000 because she wants to help me. I said ok at least do that and I will go to TD. I went to TD and was told that they don’t call or certify a already certified cheque. So I went back to CIBC. I was then told that no the hold will be on for 5 days and not even the 2/3000 will be available. I confronted the teller who told me nothing she could do as she doesn’t have the authority and that she asked but was told no. Basically too bad so sad your screwed. Last hope I went back to TD. explained the situation and wow they were so helpful and said they will do whatever they can to help me. Even if I wasn’t a TD customer. Such wonderful service. I called CIBC lucky enough got a hold of someone after 10 tries and got the fax number and I was promised that they will fax it right away. I double checked and asked if it was going to be now or now as in 5-10 mins from now. I was told now as in right away. I waited for 5 mins at TD and still no fax. So I came back to CIBC and while waiting in line guy named jason feng said he will find out what happened and asked me to sit down in lobby. I waited another 5 mins nothing so I went back to him and he told me she was busy eating but he will find out. Another 5 mins she wonders out to tell me she’s going to fax it now. My complaint is this. If you knew that a customer needed the funds available right away and went to such lengths to get it certified and come back. And you knew hat because manager wasn’t in that the funds would be on hold till they came back shouldn’t you tell the customer that instead of letting them leave believing that everything was done and clear? And take responsibility for your actions? Such a horrible teller and such horrible customer service. It’s sad when another bank, your competitor is nicer and more willing to help then your own bank. A bank where you’ve been banking with them for years.

These five stars all go to Shabnam Kassaian (Shana) as I have not been to the branch yet , but since Covid situation took place I chose this great soul as my financial advisor. In a nutshell she goes above and beyond to take care of your needs and to serve your best interests. She is always available whenever you need her support , her advice or any business with your account. She is fluent in both English and Persian, so knowledgeable in her field , really diligent in whatever she is doing and at the same time very friendly and compassionate. I was so lucky to have transferred my account to her and so happy to have known this amazing person. I cannot thank her enough for all her effort in taking care of my and my husband's financial needs and would like to ask CIBC decision makers and top managers to award her with professional promotions she rightfully deserves for the quality services she provides for her clients.

One of the best banking services I received in the last few years! All the staff is courteous and polite. They took time to discuss my needs and review available products. Besides that I was offered a coffee and a comfortable couch to sit on after my appointment, so I can do my personal emails and online errands. Their new digital banking model has been disastrous. I understand why they're doing it, but the staff are overworked and there is never adequate coverage. Twice I have booked an appointment and still had to wait ten or fifteen minutes because my banker was the ONLY one helping people and had a lineup. The days of full-service tellers may be numbered, but the way they are doing it makes no sense. If you have to send people to a different branch to do things, it may be time to rethink things.

I would rate this branch at a lower rating if it were possible. The financial advisor I dealt with was not knowledgeable at all and very unhelpful. She was unable to answer my questions and when I asked her to speak to the branch manager on the phone (who seemed much more knowledgeable and did answer my questions when I was in the branch) she told me "no" and that she was "busy" but did not say she could phone me back or any solutions. When I began asking her questions it was quite clear she was trying to cover her tracks so that I did not escalate over her head on more than one occasion. Highly recommend finding a different branch!!

This bank is now basically a lounge with some ATMs. Any actual banking has to be done at the other location. Their ATMs also still only give $20s and $50s. I've had the misfortune of coming here a few times to accompany friends on errands. I had no idea bank staff could be so unprofessional, they were sour and incompetent each time I went even with different people. I usually don't mind when people are unfriendly if they're also competent, but I'm not sure about these folk. Maybe 90% of the staff are great and we just keep running into the worst 3 or so men in the building, but it doesn't feel great regardless. One of my friends is cancelling their account and swapping to Tangerine after a few years of awkward and hostile banking experiences, the other is going to TD since it's right in the same plaza anyway. Beautiful building though!

Horrible experience. I am the executor of a will and went to the bank to deal with the person's account. The woman at the front was very rude. Took a copy of the death certificate and said that someone would call me to book an appointment because for some reason (laziness or incompetency is my guess) she couldn't book it while I was there. I just open the account a few months ago and I had 4 errors on their side that required me to go to the branch each time. Add to this their superior attitude. Just don't go there if you can avoid. Use the ATM, but do not depend on the people on this branch. Update 1: I went on the branch a few days ago and it was way better. I hope the service will improve. Update 2: I closed my account. The reasons for closing was that I had to pay a $4.95 fee even if I was having 3k in my checking account. You need to have a salary coming too. The other reason was that I schedule a payment from the wrong account and I was slapped with a $45 fee. Even if I closed my accounts the internet authentication was still working. And with accounts closed, the history is deleted. Looking back, what I appreciated was the web interface, the fact that your debit card can be used for Visa payments (internet payments, or places where only Visa is accepted, but it is not a loan, it is from your checking account). I also liked the phone support. In the process of closing my account I lost another $4.95. But I was happy to cut the loses. Another thing that I apreciate is that people on the branch are getting better, but for my personal experience I feel it is not enough to add a star to this review. Update: I just received a debit replacement card even if my account is closed. I am concerned about this from security point of view. What other mistakes are behind this? Should we wait for a data leak?

Since their recent renovations, it seems it has become more automated and decreased simple services. I used to come here to get rolls of loonies for laundry change but they no longer carry change on hand. Another time I went in to deposit some bonds and they didn't have the ability to "handle cheques in person" as I was told. There is always an issue with this branch. The staff here is not helpful at all. I sat down and talked with an advisor about a line of credit and a loan, she took all my information (t4s, identification, everything) and then she NEVER got back to us!! I called her for weeks with no response!! It was an awful experience. Now they have renovated the branch and you can no longer go and talk to an actual person, everything is done through the ATM machine. I asked the guy standing there if he could give me a roll of loonies and a roll of quarters, and he said he couldn’t help me because the machine was broken. Machine?? Just pull it out of a drawer like you used to! Useless branch, useless bank, I will be switching ASAP.

One of their representatives was extremely aggressive with me over the phone when forcing me to book an appointment with an advisor. When I told her I didn't have my schedule to look at (as I was driving at the time) and wasn't able to write it down, she told me she would courtesy call me the day before the appointment (that I reluctantly had to book because she did not take no for an answer). I didn't get the call, then the day after the scheduled appointment (that I didn't even want) she called...letting me know I missed the appointment the previous day. When I asked to speak to a manager about the issue, she hung up on me. Horrible customer service. I don't recommend banking at this location.

The branch staff are always reliable within 15 minutes of entering, if not immediately. They're a little less fast paced than more busy branches and thus are more concentrated with their work. They're very versatile with many odd situations. This branch doesn't do coins with deposit but might be able to do orders for coins. The atm are actually open longer than the listed hours, being open most notably until 11 in the night most everyday, except around Friday when I think its open until 2 for the atm. To be safe, just go before 11pm and enjoy the quietness and safety of being near a busy roadway.

Visited twice and never going back to this branch lack of customer support 1st visit teller didn't want to deposit my check into my account prompted me to the atm, I needed a phone to make a phonecall was told phones were for banking services only. Went there to open a checking account, suggested me to also open a savings account. I accepted just for the sake of it. I was left alone for 15 minutes with full access to their computer ( the clerk did not even bother locking it) while the clerk went to get me a debit card and most likely gossip with another employee since it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do this. After leaving , i got e-mails from CIBC telling me that my Checking account was not open and i needed to take an appointment to open it. I went online and i saw they only opened my savings account. It scares me with how CIBC tells us our money and personal information is safe when experiencing this situation. And the incompetence from the clerk to not be able to open a savings and a checking account at the same time frustrated me. I had to take another appointment to another branch, the one at Daniel-Johnson blvd in order to finish opening my checking account, since i was told i needed to take an appointment and this branch was booked for the next month. I showed up to my appointment at the Daniel-Johnson branch 5 minutes early. I was expecting the clerk was ready to great me, but they were not. They showed up at the exact time of the appointment and said hi to me and went to their cubicle and was getting ready for our appointment. It took them 10 minutes to get ready. I opened up the checking account and asked them their rates and what are their rates for lines of credits for students. They told me i needed a specific income, that i already made this year and they vary per customers. I asked them what range do they vary from, they told me they can do a simulation to have an idea of what my rate would be. The clerk was not able to make a simulation that took about 20 minutes. I said i just wanted to know the variations and they ended up telling me. After the simulation,t he clerk at the Daniel-Johnson branch told me i was pre-approved for overdraft protection and i should get overdraft protection especially because i do most of my business with RBC. I asked why they said especially because i do most of my business with RBC. They ignored my question. I did not bother pushing more as i did not want to waste more time. I asked the advantages would i get if moved my business from RBC to CIBC and told me their rates are better and i compared to the rates of RBC and CIBC and they are higher. I told the clerk CIBC's rates are higher then what i have currently with RBC. The clerk told me they don't want my business anymore. I guess that CIBC won't have my business. Since they told me that they don't want my business, believe they can call me by my first name like if we're high school friends instead of being professional when meeting for the first time ,they do not value my time and they don't even care about my privacy.

Yeah, what's with the bad reviews? LOL .. I've seen alot of happy customers in and out of here in just a few minutes and I go here more than usual. You'd have to be immensely impatient if you can't wait like 5-7 mins in line and even then you get great service and these guys know their stuff. You can have your opinions about them but they do their job well, their staff changes once in an long while but their service is amazingly consistent over the years. 5 Stars.

21 years a cibc client never had anything but great experience. Moved to North Vancouver and started dealing with these people and it has been a nightmare. A cheque written to me bounces and they have frozen my account like I’m some sort of international criminal. Nobody can un freeze my account but the branch itself and I’m at work with no access to my funds to get my vehicle towed. At least pick up the phone and help me sort this out. You would think They pay me fees to hold their money. RESPECT

This branch sucks! No one is EVER working and the line ups get ridiculous. I've never been to a branch that was so ill equipped. Even there FSRs don't know how do to the majority of banking transactions to help with the line ups. There turn over rate is so high, that branch tellers are constantly new, and don't know how to process simple transactions. The phone is also NEVER answered. Do not recommend for anyone needing proper banking help/advice.

My experience with this branch almost made me quit CIBC. This location's customer service is terrible. Most of the time the teller desks are closed and aren't helpful when they're open when you need help with your banking needs. The teller machines are just as bad. I've lost money because of the teller machines twice, when I deposited cash to my account using the teller machines, and you know what the customer service reps pretty much told me when I complained: 'oh well, you used the machine so we can't help you'. I wanted to move all of my accounts to a different bank after this branch lost my money. I had to get the issue addressed and resolved through CIBC's telephone banking. The only reason why I give this branch two stars is because it wasn't always a bad branch, customer service has just gone downhill over the past few years, and I don't think staff care enough to make improvements.

I came in to fix an issue with my debit card and the staff quickly gave me a phone number to call and offered for me to sit and call on one of their couches so they can help if need be. We met a financial advisor yesterday morning for opening some accounts and he was really unprofessional. What was supposed to be a short 15 mins meeting ended up taking longer and made us almost late for work, this was quite disappointing. The advisor opened the wrong account for us, and couldn't work around a printer issue. He kept fumbling around saying he has to use a different printer but never did and just kept retrying with his own printer. Rather than him being proactive about the situation, we ended up having to come back again in the evening just for us to sign the papers he could've printed from another printer. It was inconvenient for us as we all had to go to work and then drive back just to sign. Only reason why this isn't 1 star is because another staff member at the branch named Dan helped him close the account he created by mistake and took care of us with dealing the paper signing. It is unfortunate that Daniel couldn't be our advisor as it would of saved us this headache. Don't go to the person named Chow for future reference with regards to opening any type of account.

CIBC as a bank gets 2-star from me. Ok services and decent online banking. Staff is usually terrible though - they can't help with anything that a machine wouldn't reliably be able to do. Not that they are not willing - just ignorant, lacking knowledge, experience, access... you name it. And they never get back to you (as it was mentioned many times here). They have also messed up my TFSA and the only person with enough brains to actually look into it (after weeks of me just trying my luck with other employees and getting nowhere) was Grayson Noakes, who works at this branch. He is the reason there's an additional star in this review. Too bad employees like him are very scarce in CIBC...

Attended there with my partner to enquire about a joint account. My partner currently banks at TD and I have banked at CIBC for years. Went into the TD and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Went into this CIBC and asked some questions. Was told to go online to look at there services and given no advice. When I stated that was fine, we will go back to TD, the woman literally laughed at us as we left. I have banked with CIBC for 15 years and was trying very hard to bring my partner over. He actually give you a recommendation to solve your problem, not just send you away with “can’t help” attitude ( I have experienced before in other bank). The customer service at this bank have become bad over time. I have been banking with this branch for more than 2 years. But today’s experience was not good. I asked for a colored bank profile and they reacted as if i have asked for a piece of gold. The cashier(Adrene) said i do not have authority to print it in colour and said that it cost money to print in colour. I replied that I will pay for that and I asked her to ask Grayson(Advisor) to give you authorization to print in colour. And she took grayson to the print area (away from the counter) and then came back and said he have some important work to do. Well I wasn’t asking for hours it was just to print a piece of paper. Secondly, its a request to the manager that please re train the cashier to print the bank profile because the cashier printed the black and white copy on A4 sheet and then tear some of the part of the paper because she didn’t knew how to print it properly. I actually needed the whole paper. I just cannot submit half a paper to the immigration can i?

This goes so much beyond so much more than lies you allowing someone to loosely have my password sent to there phone and steal from me and then after reporting it you allowed it to happen again or You freezing my account during my first Christmas with my family in 7 years on an error that your advisor said only 2 days for the other customers who had been hit by the glitch to have there’s fixed and it took almost a month for me screwing up my income because I could not pay for my advertisement but saying you would have a supervisor call me to speak about compensation for loss of wages that never did and how poorly I was treated by your assistant branch manager Corrine Harmansjah who kept saying she could not do anything but that the lady from head office repeatedly sent instructions on how to fix it and it she was the only one able from the home branch I had to show up to the branch about 6 times after she had apparently fixed it had to go in again where I was spoken to disrespectful and had her grab my hand and card ripping it out of my hands assistant branch manager bravo cibc . But now a supervisor when I explain everything I’ve been through and I ask her why they never compensated me for around $5000 in losses or take responsibility and they threaten to send an account to collections that they had said was going to be converted into monthly payments instead they wanted all of it and I ask what do I need to do just end things and she’s says and I quote “you need to do what you need to do” after I confirm that she told me I needed to kill myself I hang up and oh no it gets better to have 5 police vehicles with officers banging at my door that quickly understood that everything was fine and left tell me to kill myself than tip the cops off where they would find a body eh thanks, Romina Ali another management experience I could’ve lived without literally.I almost forgot when my student banking ended and you guys stole 800 or more by switching me to am extremely unsuitable and expensive account type without my knowledge until I caught on. But they couldn't deposit my money as I had some cheques and some change. Said I could sign up for a business deposit bag which would mean the money takes 2 days to hit my account. I was called out of the blue one day to come in and talk to someone about my banking. So i did, sure saved me a few dollars. However the rep i dealt with did not seem to know what she was doing. Most other times i talked with the bank i was given options, advice etc etc. It seemed she was doing it only because it was part of her job and she just wanted ot get it over and done with. Was not impressed with the customer service at all. Not helpful beyond simply making a minor adjustment i could have done online. We spoke with each other and also a gentleman named Robert. They were both truly amazing. ! They were very understanding and honest with my options. I did not feel any pressure they genuinely cared about me and my family. I had to take my kids with me and they were extremely patient and understanding about that as well. Of course we opened an account especially with the exceptional service we received! But besides the account I am so happy I have a bank now and a banker that I can TRUST. Don't like the "updated" look at all, in fact I hate it. The two branches nearest me have gone to this type of automated service. Jobs lost, and affects many clients in many ways going to this model. I'll be looking into other Banks to switch my business, who care about their customers needs, not the bank's needs!!! When I first walked in I thought I was in the wrong place, so I asked if they were selling laptops or what, because that's all I saw - machines machines machine, which cannot disperse $10, give change, or other services I used to get from tellers!!! Hate this setup entirely!!!

Since this location doesn’t have tellers you might as well tear it down and put a nice grocery store. Maybe a nice restaurant. What a waste of space and of my time. Went over to the confederation location and got amazing service. Pretty sad I had to drive all the way to the other side of the city to get some decent customer service.

Went to this branch for a simple transaction and was told it could not be done, then went to Lynn Valley and requested the same transaction which took a few minutes. After 25 years of banking at CIBC you think they could do better. Was treated second class in a condescending manner by Irene the teller at Capilano Square.

Bad experience. I come to this branch quite often to deposit cash, unfortunatelly today they tried to cheat with my cash deposit. They said the money were stuck inside the machine that really made me suspicious how the biggest bank in canada have issues counting money. Avoid this place if you planned to deposit cash.

Had an appointment here with a financial adviser to just simply open an RRSP and Savings account. The adviser was terrible. She had no idea what she was talking about. She couldn't answer any of our questions and we left feeling so much more upset then when we came. We will never go back to this location and may actually change banks all together.

Worst banking service, I have applied for a credit card on 26th of August and I waited for 11 business days and 7 other days. Still I haven't get it. then I mailed to the branch and he told me that the card may reach any time. Then I called the customer care and it took like 1 hour to solve the issue. They are going to send it again internally and it takes another 5 business days. It was one of the worst serviceses. Even if I get the card onnthe fifth business day, the waiting time is almost 25 days for a credit card. Service is so bad.

Sent my global money transfer to a wrong account number, when he printed my receipt I checked and told him that he made a mistake. Long story short they said they can do nothing and I have to contact the other end and ask for a refund... but they can pay for my phone calls !!! Don’t go there

I usually only have to actually go into this branch 2 or 3 times a year but each time, the service gets worse and worse. Yesterday at 1.00 pm there was only one teller working. There was a line up of frustrated customers, so I asked the teller if she could get another teller to open - NO she said rudely. I then asked to speak to the Manager - NO she said, there's no-one here !! When I finally got to the teller, she was rude, unhelpful and had an unprofessional attitude. I have made a formal complaint via email online to CIBC Head office and I would suggest that more customers do this. I don't see why I should have to change branches because the Manager and staff at this branch are allowed to treat customers the way they do,

Horrible service. I have been to this branch multiple times and many of the rep has made numerous mistakes, such as opening the wrong account type (registered vs non-registered). They demonstrated a lack of knowledge and a terrible account opening system.

Why the hell would the tellers close at 5 if the branch is open till 7? I've never experienced this before at any other branch. I feel as if the lady at the front didn't want to do her job. DO YOUR JOB! NEEEEEXXXXT .

The worst thing they did was change this location in a family oriented environment into one of those smart banking locations as if this is business district. Yeah the tellers use to be extremely slow but give the bank a new refresh look with normal everyday banking and new tellers. Think about your older clientele and the many who bank with you in the Kennedy and Lawrence area that does not drive that now has to go to Lawrence and Markham Rd to use a normal bank or Birchmount and Danforth. This takes people out of their day to get banking done out of their area.

An Update after 3 months: Wow! Unbelievable! I gave this branch 5stars, because of Shabnam’s excellent customer service and taking care of all my bankings since last year...! But now nobody answers! I tried to call the branch several times, but it starts from the beginning over and over...!! When I finally contacted her, I found out she no longer works there... very disappointing... I’ll be waiting until the bank contact me to explain what’s going on... if not I think I should reconsider how to deal with it. ————————————————————————————— If anyone is looking for an excellent financial advisor, I highly recommend Shabnam. She is always accessible and friendly. I was not interested to open an account in CIBC, but I got motivated because of services she provided for my wife and me. My job requires me to spend a lot of time in banks, In my personal opinion CIBC is the best bank in Canada. Banks are bad in General. no one goes in a bank thinking wow this is gonna be a lot of fun. the stupid charges they put on for taking your own money out apart from the fact that they actually charge you for the account in the first place makes pretty much have reason to dislike banks. But this bank is a special kind of special, its the type of place I would take my kids to teach them a lesson on how evil corporations work. I don't know why they are run so differently from every single other CIBC in the country. I have been there twice and both times I have been extremely disappointed. I would strongly advise to use/go to ANY OTHER CIBC.

Like RBC and probably all of the major banks, CIBC gets suckier every year in terms of customer service. Long wait times on the phone. The usual crappy interest rates on savings. Financial "specialists" who steer you into mutual funds with outrageous management fees. Don't even think of converting currency here. Knightsbridge will give you a much better deal.

Horrible serives. One Chinese just gave me a very long face and a patientless tone, once he realized I am a Chinese too. While he doing the operation, he uses his social app to talk with someone likes his friend. The end of story, he did not help me do anything and told me I can do this at home. Why I come bank to do a thing that I can do at home? Luckily, I solved my problem on another branch.

I had a terrible experience in this branch couple of days ago. We went there to open an account for an international student who has just arrived in Canada. The bank worker reluctantly mentioned that because of the student's nationality, he needs to first fill out an AML form to see if she is qualify to open an account! Obviously he didnt even know where to find the AML form on his system. Then two of the workers tried to justify their weird request by saying that this is the case for everybody who comes from this particular country and etc. He started asking some nonsense questions and tell us that we will let you know about the results by the end of the week! 30 mins later we noticed that what he was saying was BS! we opened an account for the student in another bank with 1000$ non-secure credit card even! I do not recommend this branch at all particularly for new comers who are not familiar with the regulations. At the end I just remind that the Canadian constitution bans any discrimination against color, sex, religion, language, and the nationality of the people.

Went here to inquire about a certain type of financial transaction. There was no receptionist. A sign said go to cashier. There was about a 15 person line up. After getting to a cashier, they tried to help but could not provide the proper info. They asked manager, who directed us to a rep. in an office. Initially he did not want to help me, said he was waiting for a client. He finally agreed, and spent awhile looking for a phone number but could not find it. Then went to talk to manager. They gave me a rate which was the lowest of all four major banks I visited. And definitely a waste of over 30 min. I took my business elsewhere.
