Here you will see the feddbacks of people who are consuming the services and products of Banff Soul Ski and Bike (Bank) in the area close to Banff (Canada).
At present the firm gets a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 and this rating was based on 84 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is good, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Bank corresponds to the category of Outdoor clothing and equipment shop.
I haven't dealt with the upstairs, only downstairs, and Mike has taken care of my skis on a few occasions. I am a skier who lives in Winnipeg, yet has a season pass at Louise. Well I purchased a new set of Renoun skis and Mike made sure to check details when he put the Look bindings on. He made sure things were perfect. Had a great conversation with him about a hobby we both love. I know from experience that his tunes are the best. Good to know an ex Winnipeger can tune skis like nobodies business!!
I visited this shop the July 31st, the day before I started the Tour Divide. Andrew, a very helpful gentleman assisted me with filling out the correct forms in order to ship my Thule bike bag back home to the United States, more specifically Tennessee. I was assured that I would receive a conformation email with the shipping and tracking information so I could track the progress. Well over a month later I have no clue where my bike bag is....if it was ever sent...or kept. I have written two emails to the company and received zero responses back. All I have asked for is a resend of the confirmation email that it was actually sent off and I can not get a response regardless. I understand the company helped me out with the burden of shipping my bag back but when there is no confirmation that it actually shipped....or that no one will even email or call me back my experience which at first was pleasant has now been ruined and left me with a sour taste in my mouth until I receive an explanation. Overall from this experience I can't say I would recommend them. Fella's at the shop if you read this and would like to contact me back....check your emails inbox, ny contact info is there.
Great little local shop , fixed my flat and had me on my way in 20 minutes....
Only Bike shop in Banff or Calgary that carried the bike I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Spoke with Andrew about shipping my bike to Banff and he was so courteous and helpful, took the time to explain everything I needed to know - even though his advice meant in this case going with different logistics. A lot of bike shops would just take your money or not be willing to take the time to explain your options to you. Andrew went above and beyond :) PS, If you need to call them from the US but your carrier doesn't allow it, use google voice!
Really impressed by the service we got today at Soul. So much more engaged and personal than the other sports shoes we visited when looking for new ski goggles.
Tried to get a tire tube replaced as I’m in banff and bike doesn’t work. Told global shortage of tubes and that they wouldn’t even put on a patch so that I could use it while here. Not very helpful for a service shop in a generally isolated area.
Rented bikes here once with our locals booklet after doing the short course that provided you with a bunch of coupons around town. Good experience.
We just had a really great experience. While loading g our bikes we saw that our sons tire was all wonky. We tried three places in Calgary to have it trued... they either refused to do it or said it would be over an hour. I called Soul from the road and they told me to bring it in. It was a 10min fix and they were super friendly. We are in Banff all the time and will definitely be back!!
When I am in Banff I try to drop in to take advantage of the expertise and experience in tuning my equipment that you can find at the Mike Lindsay Ski Service. While there are many shops and technicians out there who may be able to do the same job in Banff these are the guys I want to bring my race skis back to life. Thanks.
Purchased a few bikes here. Friendly staff and great service.
Super nice people, very accommodating and helpful. Can only recommend.
Top selection, helpful and friendly staff. Helped me pick out the perfect bike and shorts for me. I love them! So happy!!!
Managed to get my crank arm put on and got great service. Highly recommended place for all things bikes.
Quick, friendly service. Very reasonable rates for bike rentals, and the bikes are well-maintained and clean.
These guys rock! Super friendly, knowledgable service - it's obvious customer care and satisfaction is a top priority for them.
As someone fairly new to biking, renting a pair of e-bikes with my gf and making it to Lake Louise and back was a bucket list item completed. Tom went above and beyond to tell us about the route and get our bikes customed up for us. After a quick charge up in Lake Louise we had a beautiful ride back. Absolutely recommend this terrific local shop, even to the uninitiated cyclist.
Disappointing!! We were sold ski tune cards for the season, however, we were unable to use all of our tunes as the tuning equipment were removed a month before the season finished without notice. We were offered no help at all and no reply upon various written enquiries to remedy the situation. The amateur approach to their client service is laughable, and the complete disregard to their client's needs is unacceptable. Whilst the floor staff were friendly, management will need to reflect on their lack of initiative. We will be recommending against using Soul for next year's ski instructor course programs.
Best ski boot fitting! Go see Dean.
Been here a few time for equipment rentals and service and the staff have always gone above and beyond every time!
I'm a fan ... good job people...
Sale expensive service and products. However, you can find cheaper and good quality ones at many other stores.
Soul is the only shop that I feel comfortable going into in the Bow Valley (and Calgary). They have helped me many times with quick mechanical issues on the spot, they have taken time with me to find the right fit for products even if they don't carry them in-store and they are always friendly, welcoming, and professional. For ski tuning and bike info/tuning, they are my one-stop shop and I highly recommend them.
Friendly staff, found some good deals.
If you want the best ski tune in Banff go see Mike Lindsay at Soul. Does amazing work!
Good products but have never really been impressed with the service.
As owner of A Laptop Shoppe i recommend this business. Mike operates this high quality ski tune and repair shop . Mike is highly experienced ,qualified ,certified and his reputation precedes him . He is always busy ,no advertising only word of mouth. What makes Mikes expertise special is his attention to detail . He actually can detect issues in your skiing from evidence in the wear of the bases.Mike also keeps his sharpening and waxing equipment in top shape . Especially his sander.I recommend him as do all the ski pros and top racers .
Great shop, knowledgeable staff, good products. Love what they did with the new window space.
not only they do rental but repair too, very quick and friendly service. I'd return without doubt.
I was in need of a Planks Pullover that only ships to certain stores in Canada, Banff Soul being one of them. I phoned them numerous times, getting their voicemail every time. I left several voicemails with my contact information and sent them an email. Not once did I get a response from them, very disappointing.
5 starts is not even enough for these guys. Awesome collection and fantastic staff. Andrew helped me with sunglasses and I could not be happier. I'm almost reaching for my credit card and he gave me extra discount which I was not even expecting. Overall excellent experience and totally recommended.
Sloane. Donnelly. Alive. Aware. Available. Learning every minute. Kudos! Megan.
Great service. Bought my ski Boots here and plan on coming back for more
Great place to rent a bike for the day!
Fitzy and Jared were able to punch out my ski boots. I went skiing the next day and my boot was no longer rubbing on my ankle.
Great place for service. They were done within 20 minutes and my bike has never ridden better
Affordable rental prices.
Super helpful staff here. My wife had trouble with her boots which they worked on and also got a good deal on some end of season goggles!
Bike - Transition TR450 The work order: - full tune - front bearing replace - shifter/derailer - brake bleed (front brake) - brake pads - highroller 2 (rear) - look for replacement chain tensioner (front) Customer service is friendly, honest, and communication is not an issue what so ever. Service was great! They tuned my shifter and derailer to the point where it feels like butter. It use to shift pretty hard and I could not tune it where I wanted it. The mechanic did a phenomenal job and also noticed my bearings in my rear triangle needed to be replaced. They gave me a more than reasonable quote and they still met the deadline that I needed the bike repaired by. Unfortunately, they could not find a replacement chain tensioner but overall they did a spot on job.
Amazing technicians, great value and I would not go anywhere else in Banff.
This is a fantastic little ski and bike store with a very welcoming atmosphere. I came in today to get fitted for a pair of ski boots and had great service. Andrew helped me and he was very friendly and professional. I came away with a sweet pair of ski boots for a great deal. Would highly reccommend anyone looking for ski gear come check this place out. Bonus points for the happy doggo Gary who hangs out here!
Just purchased ski boots from Soul, I had one of the best ski boot fitters I’ve come across. So informative, explained everything in layman’s terms, looked at my whole foot and how it would fit into a boot. I came out with really well fitting beauty of boots. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for the fantastic service.
Been in twice for ski related services and both times Mike was really helpful and did a quality job for a very reasonable price! Definitely will be going back again
Just purchased a pair of Blizzard Bonafide's from this shop. I received great service and got everything setup and adjusted quickly and properly. Would definitely go back. Nice shop!
Came in here desperate to get some advice on fixing a painful boot (from another fitter). The owner was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable about boot fitting - and generous. He gave me a practical solution that had me on the slopes and back to enjoying it. Would definitely come back!
Great store and great service!! I purchased a pair of skiboots with (upstairs) Mike's help. I ordered the boots early this season with his recommendation. When I returned to pick them up a few weeks later Mike greeted me by name with no hesitation. My new boots fit fantastic. While picking the boots up I also dropped off 2 pairs of skis to (downstairs) Mike (Mike Lindsay) for neglected repairs and a tune. He did a great job as expected and even charged less than I expected. On time and under budget - a pleasant surprise. I will return for more gear as they have a great selection of backcountry equipment and know what works. Prices are where they should be but what sets Soul apart is their knowledge and service. Thanks to Mike, Mike and Andrew for all your help and assistance. I'll be back!
If you need to buy or rent skis and don’t know where to start, then go to Banff Soul Ski and Bike! In my humble opinion, Banff Soul is the best kept secret of a ski rental place in Banff! The employees are passionate ski enthusiasts and knowledgable experts. Banff Soul provides top notch customer service as evidenced not only by how they ask questions but also how they listen to what a customer wants in a ski. If you’re not sure where to ski, then talk to Andrew! He will provide you with recommendations based on the current and forecasted conditions. Banff Soul is also amazing because they understand the value of your time…They get you in and out of the store quickly with your rental so that you have more time to enjoy your vacation. Banff Soul is legit! Renting from them was the best decision of my trip! You should go there and make it the best decision of your trip, too!
So, a huge shout out to Mike! Friend and I came down for day from Edmonton to bike Banff to Johnston Canyon. I was having valve issues and tried to pump at the free air pump near the bathrooms. Well, the pump didn't work so I walked my flat tire and bike over to this place. Mike came over to help right away and had it fixed pronto. Offered to pay and he said "nah don't worry about it." Super appreciative of Mike.
I've been searching for a "go to" ski shop for many years with limited success and found myself going online for most things. I've switched out my setup a few times lately as I didn't really like them, reading the online reviews about various skis I thought I knew what I wanted but my choices didn't work out. This time I received a recommendation from a good friend to try Soul in Banff so I went. I walked them through my style of skiing and they suggested a setup that I would not have picked on my own. A little nervous but I closed my eyes and went for it, K2 Pinnacle 105's and I must say they nailed it. Also, I was going have to wait as the Duke bindings were on back order but Mike at Soul did some trading with another store who had them in stock and got me on my way. That sealed the deal. Soul is my new "go to" ski shop. Thanks guys!
Great place to go if you are bros with the backshop guys and need a pair of boots to "find their way into the back of my car." If you are not a brah, expect poor service and above average prices.
Manager really helped us out- really appreciated the help- can't recommend enough- thanks again!
Last summer I ended a cycle tour in Banff and needed my bike boxed for my flight back to the UK. I received excellent service from the store. My bike and gear was very well packed and protected, and for a very reasonable price.
General customer service started off well. Had to wait a long time for bike to have new brake pads fitted but was supplied with a rental bike at no charge to keep me happy. Upon picking my bike up there was something I wasn't quite happy with. I politely expressed my thoughts and asked if anything could be done, but unfortunately the sales assistant was a bit defensive and used excuses. I ended up speaking to the store owner who was much more affable and spoke on a far more professional level. Now I've finally got my bike back so I'm happy but may think of other options next time.
Fabulous service for rentals; super helpful, affordable.
Hired bunch of bikes today. Reasonable prices and good service. You can take the bikes out and just pay for the number of hours (or partial hours) you are gone when you get back. No need to know how long you want them for in advance. Andrew was super helpful and full of good info.
Great service. Despite my late decision to snowboard, I ended up returning the skiis. The staff was friendly and helpful and really showed that they cared for the customer. The french guy helped me out and hes very knowledgeable. Ill rent from here next time i decide to ski
Just asked a short quastion about where to go with a TT-bike and got a full-on 20 min explenation. Those guys were very (!) nice and helpful...couldn't be treated better!
Not one who normally writes reviews but felt the need to today. Seen a bike last week that caught my eye for about $350, went in today since I had been paid to buy the bike that now has gone up to $525. I asked why it has gone up since they had purchased these bikes off a insurance sale (bikes were in a building fire but not really damaged by it) and the answer was "they are selling to fast" asked if i could buy it at last weeks price as that is what I budgeted for and was told the best they can do is not charge tax on the $525 sales ticket. was pissed as last week the best was $350 for a bike which was in a building fire, to $525 with no tax. Won't really be recommending their services to anyone who asks me on the streets of Banff because of the questionable motives.
Bad experience. Very unprofessional. I bought a new pair of skis and bindings January 2018. April 2018 binding rips off ski mid turn - dislocated shoulder. Soul did nothing. Owner said ”you can’t carve on those skis”. Months of follow up and no replies (avoided me). Thankfully Nordica came through with replacement skis. Run in the other direction from this shop! They don’t stand behind their products or install services.
What a great group of guys here! Dean got me in right away. Setup my ski’s last minute so I could enjoy a day out on the mountain with my son. Great service, great price would recommend these guys to everyone the client and the I
Thomas the owner was extremely helpful and flexible, great bikes, amazing service, and the best rates in town!!!
Best ski shop in Banff. Definitely buy your boots here!
Very, friendly and helpful. The bikes we rented were clean and in great condition. We weren't sure where to ride given that we aren't very familiar with the area, but the staff took the time to layout several rides in the area with a map and offered advice on which rides were not well suited to our circumstances. Super friendly, down to earth and very knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. And the black labrador in residence is the coolest cat in the joint.
I did a self-supported bike ride from Jasper to Banff. Shipped my bike to Soul Ski and Bike and left my bike box there for the two week ride. Michael Bruce and the rest of the crew were really accommodating. They put my bike together and checked it out before my ride. After my ride they let me pack the bike since I had done this many times. Now this was before the July 1 craziness, when they were not too busy, but I expect they would go out of their way to help tourists, their time and space permitting.
I had a very enjoyable experience renting from Banff Soul Ski and Bike. I rented some skis and boots through their website and picking up the skis in the morning before our ski run was easy, quick and painless. Got some great advice from Matt, on what skis I should be using for the current snow conditions on the mountains. Service was personal and sincere.
Called twice about a bike - was quoted $1500 twice. One hour later showed up and to check it out (price still$1500) and to take it for a ride. Once the test ride was complete i decided to buy the bike. That's when we were told the price suddenly jumped to$1660....unbelievable. Needless to say I walked away. Owner seems like a real piece of work- feels as though he doesn't need to provide quality courteous service as most customers are tourists. Can't imagine his behaviour if there was a warranty issue... Don't waste your time or money here
Best place to get your skis tuned in town
customer service was good. Ive taken my bike there a few times and they have not made there dead lines for work done on my bike. its been 5 days and counting just to get a derailor put on my bike. they said they would call and tell me the situation of my bike but they never did. for a local company they arnt very professional. not impressed
Awesome staff!
