I cannot believe the rudeness of the women in the bakery today. A STAFF MEMBER! She was with a customer and my husband and I went in to the front door to see if people were in the store. WE WERE MASKED AND FULLY APPROPRIATE. She snarled at us and locked the door yelling at us. A man came out after he made his purchases and apologized on her behalf. We went in and waited patiently (I wanted to leave but sweets are the road to my husband's heart). We asked what something was and the same woman was so impatient with us. I asked for a few things and the same lady cashed us our seriously snarling and making a face at me. My husband under his breath said please don't say anything she's probably stressed. She may have been but she was so rude that we will never go back!! Very disappointed!!

I am customer of this place almost 20 years. Great apple strudel abd much more... I am a landscaper in this neighborhood. After my shift is done i usually stop by at the store for a few cakes for my family. But today i have been kicked out from the store by one very rude lady because I didn't have a nssk. I have explained her I have medical condition, she still refused sevis to me. I will file lawsuit for human rights.

I was sent on a mission to get challah from here, not really knowing a thing, the ladies behind the counter were so lovely and helpful. They even tried to give me samples of everything when they realised I'd never tried anything. Then someone in the store gave me a lift home. Yes, the (non bread) treats were only ok, but it felt like a lovely family close knit place.

I'm very unsatisfied with cake I've ordered from this bakery. I've ordered a Paw Patrol peanut free cake which was not cheap from this bakery and when I picked up the cake, the design of the cake was completely different from the picture. I've attached the photos for comparison purpose. To make things worse, they spelled my son's name wrong and I had to bring the cake to school the next morning. I do not recommend anyone to buy cakes from this store unless you want horrible looking cakes. I would give zero star if there was an option.

The food is always fresh. The staff work quickly and efficiently. They don't flatter you with painted on smiles. But if you care to chat and be friendly with them they will share a laugh and show their appreciation for you. What more could I want.

Love Hermes. IMHO they make the best Kosher cheesecake and cheesebuns in town and the same goes for their own potatoe kugel which is only available Thursdays and Fridays for Shabbat (pareve Cholent &Kishke too.) Other highlights: apple and/or mixed fruit & berry strudel... Heaven! Their Napoleons are terrific and their stone ground whole wheat bread is quite special. Most things are good but stay away from the "carrot cake" or muffins. Regrettably, one day I tried asking for a bran muffin and was told by the usually friendly saleslady: "When did you ever see bran muffins for sale at Hermes??? " There's so much packed into that one line... Are bran muffins beneath them? Another time. Hermes has a limited selection of grocery products: dry goods, refrigerated dairy and prepared house brand foods like soup, herring etc. Other prepared salads, frozen braided Challah dough etc. Bodek lettuce, but no fresh produce. If I could make a Hermes wish it would be that they bring back the birthday cakes that they used to sell when I was a kid (with a crisp chocolate coating atop the creamy icing) and the melt in your mouth cookies they used to give us at Associated for Oneg Shabbos. Yum!!! Corner store. Parking available.

This bakery is a place of my childhood. Every time visiting the doctor my mom would take me here. As an adult I still go and the food is amazing. Challah is awesome and the sweets are to die for.

Good old-school joint for Jewish baked goods and other products. If you're looking for classic Toronto blueberry buns this is the place to go. Other baked goods are good as well, fresh and great quality. The employees are quite rude and dismissive, but other than that, it's all good.

Hermes is worth praise for many reasons but since I have a daughter with an allergy i must comment on how great it is to have a local bakery that can accommodate for her!! We look forward to buying sweets for family events since she can take part in the enjoyment of eating them :)

Nothing looked appetizing here. Bought some bagels, donuts, cinnamon roll, and a kugel. The bagels were very bland! The donut was just okay, and the roll and kugel were the worst. It was stale and obviously old, and we just got in at 8:30am! The management did not seem to care that they were selling stale old baked goods.

The lady was the rudest person i ever encounter. She seems so impatient. Place was not busy but she was rushing. I kept my cool as i was thinking may be she is having a rough day. But she dis the same to other customer than here i am seeing same reviews. Very disappointed will never set a foot in that horrible place.

Hermes Bakery is the best kosher & nuts free bakery among Issac's bakery, Richmond kosher bakery and Grodzinski bakery. All staff are friendly and all fresh breads are so so delicious. Besides they give us 5% discount when you pay by cash.
