My wife and I live in Milton and have ordered a few cakes now from Chick Boss now and we love them . We've had both vanilla and chocolate and love them both. We've had leftovers that we put in the fridge and it kept for 3 days. The website is easy to use and very detailed about their products. YES the cake does look like the picture when it came which is important to us the customer. When the driver came to drop off the cake they're very friendly and they wear a mask too.I would recommend this place to all my friends and family for sure.

Had a horrible first experience but the owner contacted us and made things right. The doughnuts were fresh. A little too much icing for my taste but easily scraped off. One of the doughnuts tasted similar to a glazed Krispy Kreme. One had a gold paint on the top that gave it a flavour that took away from the rest of the doughnut. The cupcakes were delicious. The fuzzy peach cupcake was amazing. The butter tarts themselves were great but the toppings were overkill. Great show pieces but way too much sugar. Recommend this place to anyone who loves sweets. If you can only get one thing I would go for the cupcakes.

Cupcakes are very average. Yeah the different icing flavours are “fun” but other bakeries actually have actual freshly baked, baked from scratch cupcakes and a variety of actual cake flavours. Skip this place and go to Whisk & Roll Bakery in Woodstock, Wallflour Bakes in Woodstock, or Kandy Cakes in Stratford. And for that matter, check out Lady Glaze for donuts in Stratford too! Why pay this much for frozen & thawed cupcakes made from cake mix — if you want that just go to Zehrs and save your money.

Macarons were great! Get those. Don't get the doughnuts or cupcakes though. Very disappointing. Doughnuts were stale, few were just cake cut into a doughnut shape, and the icing was so artificial. Cupcakes were very dry, icing was wet and all the sprinkles were melting off like they had been frozen then thawed. So expensive for so much dissapointment.

Our family LOVES Chick Boss Cake! Last Friday I ordered a dozen Gluten Free Low Lactose, 6 Vegan Dairy Free cupcakes and a dozen regular cupcakes. I picked them up from store (which was easy peasy because they were ready for me to arrive with bags in hand!) and when I got them home my husband took one look and said "Those are the best looking cupcakes I've ever seen". They are incredible! Because I live 40 minutes away from the Woodstock location in Kitchener, Ontario, I took my twin boys to the store with me to get out of the house and have a nice treat. The bags of cupcakes were ready for us, but we wanted to order drinks as well. Have you SEEN their drink menu? It's... amazing. We ordered and within five minutes we had the most incredible drinks (see the picture)! My one son had a Cotton Candy Milkshake, which was a gorgeous swirl of pink, white and blue milkshake topped off with swirls of icing and cotton candy. My other son had a Candy Land Lemonade, which was two layers of blue coloured lemonade topped with icing "clouds", a "rainbow" candy sour belt and cotton candy for no reason other than it's delicious! I had a "shark bite" Lemonade, which was blue lemonade with gummy sharks topped with blue icing, sprinkles, gummy sharks and a little pipette filled with some sort of red goo... and when you squeezed it in the drink it made these little red droplets that looked like blood! UNREAL! Even though it is 40 minutes away, I would definitely make this store a place to go for an extra special treat! By the way, the cupcakes were super, super delicious and incredible, too. My cupcakes, the Gluten Free cupcakes, were beautiful. I especially liked the "Sour Kid" cupcake with the slightly sour green icing. Thank you Chick Boss Cake for offering selections that are beautiful, delicious and that cater to people who have a variety of dietary requirements! You guys rock! Thank you!

I ordered the Skor cheesecake and 6 pack of party donuts and it was all amazing!! The texture of the cheesecake was fluffy and not dense, and tasted home made. The donuts were fluffy and delicious and stayed fresh (soft) longer than other donut places.

Beyond disappointed. Cupcakes are frozen and not fresh baked. $70+ for vegan cupcakes that came out of the freezer??! — had I known, I would have just gone to the grocery store and got a pack of Sweets From the Earth. If you’re on the lookout for vegan treats, it’s worth the drive to Boombox Bake Shop in London or Kelly’s Bake Shoppe Burlington — you know, where the staff show up early and bake fresh goodies for the day.. This isn’t a new concept. I will never order from here again.

I decided to do something nice for my family and got the mini egg Easter cheese cake, for $67.80 from the Chick Boss Cake in Woodstock. I feel completely ripped off. the pictures make it look bigger and it was soo much smaller than expected and the design looked nothing like it was supposed to on the picture at all!! so embarrassing and a huge scam, I feel completely ripped off and I'm never going back there. It was not worth 20$ let alone almost 70$. On top of that it didn't even taste good or like cheesecake. How they managed to make a dry cheesecake I will never know...

My husband surprised me with cupcakes last month. I was excited to try them as gluten free cupcakes are hard to come by. They don't taste gluten free so props for that. However, presentation was seriously lacking. They didn't look any different that run of the mill grocery store bakery cupcakes. The icing was grainy and the cake fell apart when trying to eat it. I tried a vanilla one and a chocolate one but could not finish either. I understand the gluten free market is maybe not their focus, gluten free baking is very temperamental and ingredients are more expensive, however I feel the team at Chick Boss Cake needs to spend more time on their gluten free recipe. $27 for six cupcakes like this is very disappointing.

As neighbours to the shop we were excited to support a local business. We hoped to just get a donut each but had to buy 6 in order to try them. In my husband's words 'I've never been this disappointed in 24 dollars worth of food.' 3 of our donuts were not actual donuts but cake in donut shape. They were dry and overly sweet. The actual donut is okay, but I've had much better at a lower price. We probably won't even eat half the box. The milkshakes weren't recommended by anyone in the store and we didn't feel too welcome as we visited so I rushed my order. As we left I noticed the milkshake option which would have been nicer to try than buying 6 overpriced 'donuts'.

Disappointing. The keto cupcakes were the same as all keto baked goods...weird tasting with a bad aftertaste, but the texture was alright. They're pretty nasty, but that's basically what you get for sugar free. They come frozen, which is par for the course, so don't expect to eat them right away. (honestly, don't expect to eat them at all. I'll be throwing them out) If it was just the keto cupcakes, I'd probably give it 3 stars for effort. But the regular cupcakes were also a huge disappointment. Flavourless, with a gross powdery texture. Style over substance, in this case. The online ordering system was also a bit annoying. Chose a time for pick up ...arrived a little after that time, and they hadn't even processed it. I might as well not have bothered with it. (Also side note: interestingly, they have a 1 star rating as an employer on Indeed. Not specifically for the Woodstock location, but across many. Just something to note when choosing which bakery on Dundas st to support with your $.)

***Worst cake and HORRIBLE customer service*** Ordered cake online and emailed to ask for specific instructions for the message on the cake. I asked for the writing to be on the side of the cake so it wouldn’t take away from the decor on top. When I received the cake the writing was in the middle top of the cake... which is exactly what I didn’t want. When I emailed them to let them know this isn’t what I asked for, they told me to drive the cake to Woodstock and they could fix it. At this point it was 5:20 and they told me they close at 6. It was unprofessional and inconvenient. Also the person who was emailing me didn’t think it was an issue and said “most people like it that way.” Very poor customer service especially since it was my first time ordering from them. The cake didn’t taste that good. It was nothing special. You definitely just pay for presentation. Their deserts don’t actually taste like you bought them from a bakery. I don’t think you get your money’s worth and I wouldn’t recommend this place to any friends or family...Especially since their customer service is a joke.

Presentation is incredible, but these are sweets made for Instagram pictures - tons of visual presence, not much taste. We bought six cupcakes, which were just okay. Very obviously made a while back and frozen, and pretty bland overall. Definitely did not feel worth the premium price we paid. If you're looking for something that is amazing on camera, this fits the bill. If you're looking for something that tastes amazing, there are cheaper and better options elsewhere.

Then they private messaged me saying something is wrong with my taste. What kind of business messages someone who gave a review and tells them that something is wrong with their taste? 2 stars for creativity and friendliness. Disappointed that my $24 donuts weren’t actually donuts but instead cake. Not at all what I wanted. The actual donuts in the box were good so far but the cake one threw me off. Don’t advertise something to customers that isn’t what you’re serving. Very disappointing for that price. I’ll take my money to an actual donut shop.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time, boy was it disappointing. I got the spring donut collection and all of the donuts were stale! These donuts had to have been made 2 days prior. For $24 for 6 these should have been fresh! I will not be back here. So disappointing!

I love that for Mother's day, Chick Cake Boss waived the tax and delivery fees! I think that was AWESOME and a nice gesture for Mother's Day :). Ordered a 6 pack of what they call the chocolate bar collection "donuts". First off, only 3 of the donuts were actually donuts, they other 3 were definitely what most would call cupcakes. For the chocolate bar collection, one would assume that they might use some of the flavors each of the different chocolate bar contain, but no, they were just Halloween size bars on the donuts still in the wrapper, not really at all what I was expecting, Presentation was good, but taste was just meh, and just really unbalanced on account of all of the extra icing, i also don't believe they were fresh baked as they were refrigerated and cold when we got them, these are just donuts for Instagram, don't bother eating them, it's a shame as they obviously have talent, but these just badly missed the mark, worse yet, at $24 for 6 donuts, these should knock your socks off and they just fail to deliver on every level. Also tried to buy 2 butter tarts, but was told I needed to buy 6, so glad we didn't bother.

Went in to try a donut. Apparently they do not sell individual donuts or cupcakes. Never been told that at a bakery before.That was strike one. My brother then was going to buy a six pack of the donuts , went to pay and was told they didnt accept cash. Strike two. At 20+ $ for a six pack of donuts , I would like the opportunity to buy an individual baked good ( like I can anywhere else ) before commiting to something expensive like that. They had neat looking drinks and their donuts and cupcakes did look good from the pics in their display. The employee was friendly .

We ordered the Ferraro Rocher cake and were extremely disappointed in the cake. It is advertised as a Ferraro Rocher cake, but it does not taste at all like a Ferraro Rocher chocolate. The cake was just a regular chocolate cake that was pretty dry and the icing was way too sweet and grainy. The only thing Ferraro Rocher about the cake was the package of Ferraros on top that you can get from the dollar store. Not worth the money.

Cakes are really dry and icing is too sweet. Not worth the price!! Decorating is rushed and sloppy, looks nothing like pictures they post online. I've had cupcakes that were frozen, so its not made fresh in woodstock. Very disappointing!!! I'd much rather support other local bakers who don't use short cuts.

We have tried Chick Boss Cake twice now and both times have been great! Customer service is top notch, they are prompt with responses and really make sure you are completely satisfied. The website is fun and easy to use! So many delicious looking desserts and best of all, allergen friendly! We had ordered a gluten free cake from another baker previously and while decorated beautifully the cake was dry and horrible. We were hesitant to try somewhere else since they told us that's the nature of gf desserts. When we tried the gf from here it was fantastic! My son has since had to cut lactose as well so this option is perfect for everyone in our family! We are hooked and will be coming back for all our dessert needs!

Cute place that will definitely help you fix your sugar craving. I got 6 cupcakes, which at the time, included my choice of coffee or lemonade. I chose the Blue Raspberry Lemonade. The cupcakes were really good (except for the Gingerbread one-- it had too much of a molasses taste in my opinion). I found the buttercream to be too sweet, but it mellows out really well when eaten together with the cake portion. With that said, the ratio of buttercream to cupcake was perfect. Granted, you may have had a better cupcake elsewhere (which is part of the reason why I gave 4 stars), but it's a great addition to the expanding city. Though really cool to look at and take photos, the Blue Raspberry Lemonade is a bit excessive. I didn't realize that the icing would be piped on top of the lid. It's not exactly a car-friendly drink.

So this review may be long winded, but I would like to honestly justify my one star rating. This rating is based across everything. And that I'm not just trying to bash a business. We couldn't wait to eat them, but from the first donut we were just beyond disappointed. First is the price, now I can accept the price for the way the Donuts looked, but that's where my 1 star begins. That's all the Donuts have going for them, was the look. 3 of the 6 "Donuts" in the box are really just donut shaped cake batter. You're basically getting 3 mini 2 layer cakes, the Nanaimo, cookies & cream and bubble gum "Donuts" are Mini cakes. I ate the Nanaimo and cookies & cream. The Nanaimo has chocolate cake batter, the chocolate was quite bitter and I thought that the nice creamy Nanaimo center would offset that, but it didn't, it just tasted like a chocolate cake with a really weak cream in the middle, the only thing that made it taste Nanaimo-ish were the few flakes of coconut on top. I felt the icing and fondant didn't reflect a Nanaimo bar. Next was the cookies and cream, vanilla cake batter cake was good, but the icing and filling had the look of cookies and cream, but didn't have the flavor. It just tasted like a vanilla cake with icing. My wife ate the bubble gum donut. Vanilla cake and bubble gum flavored icing. My wife said the flavor tasted great, just like bubble gum, but it's not a donut, it's a cake. So across all 3 actual Donuts - the cotton candy, candy land and cereal, all 3 had the same issues, a very dense donut that just didn't reflect what I would expect from a company who only makes a handful of Donuts. The cereal donut, has lucky charms on them. The cereal was stale, the marshmallows were mushy, and aside from the cereal on it, it was basically a vanilla dip donut. My wife picked of the cereal and marshmallows. The cotton candy donut had something in the top of the icing glob on the top... maybe cookie dough? I couldn't tell. No flavor of cotton candy just tasted like a dipped donut. The candy land was the same as the above, aside from the candy in the icing glob, the donut was just a dipped donut. For the cost, I can't justify ever buying these again, and considering that half the Donuts weren't even Donuts...I just wouldn't trust any products from Chick Boss Cake. Their ideas of what Donuts are concern me for what I would receive if I purchased something else, cheesecakes made from cheddar cheese? Maybe had the website been a little more informative about the product I was purchasing I wouldn't have been so blindsided by the product I received. More pictures, highlight every donut, with detailed descriptions. My wife and I looked forward to more purchases and even going in store to try their shakes, lemonades and hot chocolates. But unfortunately that won't be happening. I'm just being open and honest, and is my level of disappointment that really drove me to post this review. So others can have a detailed idea of the product they'd receive before making this not cheap purchase.

The cake was lovely and tasty The only thing was that I expected chocolate on the cake rather than lollipops and pixie sticks. I had a big order and ordered three 8" cakes, one 6" smash cake, and some macarons this past weekend and they were great! From ordering the cakes online (which was super simple) to using customer service to ask questions. They were prompt, helpful, and really friendly. At no point was there any errors from my order or specific instructions I had noted down. Everything was accurate and the cakes were exactly like the pictures. The cake arrived early, just enough time to put out the dessert for the party. The driver called me when he was 20 minutes away and arrived on time. He had to walk back and forth to get all the cakes and dessert a few times and was super friendly and nice about it. And to my surprise, it arrived in one piece with no issues on any of them. My only wish was that I wish there were more flavor options (other than chocolate and vanilla that I could choose from online) but I never personally asked if I could choose another flavor. The cakes tasted great and they were all very creative and fun looking. All in all, great experience and would highly recommend.

I ordered a cake for my sisters birthday and after getting it into the car (VERY carefully) I realized the whole back half was ruined and looked a mess. I had to stop at bulk barn to pick up extra decorations to hide the damage. I spoke with a friend the other day and he explained that he experienced the same thing. Dissappointing for the price you pay. I think the packaging is very poor and leaves alot of room for potential damage. Especially with the amount of cakes that the store is mass producing on busy days like the Saturday I had visited. I hope the owners take this into consideration and re evaluate. Other than that, a nice one time treat.

Absolutely the worst cake I have ever eaten. We ordered the strawberry shortcake. No whipping cream just oddly fake flavoured strawberry. And dry dry dry cake. Almost no strawberries. For the price they charge they should be ashamed Disgusting. Sobeys makes an excellent strawberry shortcake for $10. No idea how this place stays in business.

I ordered a custom cake 3 weeks in advance (nothing crazy that a home baker couldn’t do) and I left a note asking them to call me if they have any questions about my order. I went in 7 days later to pick up another order I placed with them and I asked to the lady behind the counter make a note on the cake order. She informed me she couldn’t do that and told me to email instead, which I did immediately. A few days go by and I get an automated email about my recent pickup from them. This was irritating as we’re getting closer to the date I have to pick up the cake and I would just like a response about it. I emailed again asking if someone was going to get back to me. An hour after my second email I got a phone call that they can’t do at all what I’m asking for and instead are making suggestions that are no where near close to what I wanted. I then said if you can’t do what I’m asking for I would like a refund. At this point this is when I was told they don’t offer refunds. How can you call me over a week after I placed my order (only because I emailed twice) to tell me you can’t do what I ordered, won’t compromise or give me my money back? What a joke of a bakery. The best part about this is they couldn’t answer my question as to why they didn’t contact me as soon as they got to the order that they couldn’t fulfill my order? Instead I had to email twice and wait over a week to find out I have to now find another place to order a custom cake with only a week to go. This has been a terrible experience and I will never support this place again. I don’t understand how they can charge $80+ for a custom cake and then turn around and decline the order while telling the customer they won’t give them their money back. Edit: They responded to my review and I don't feel the need to get back to them but, I want to mention that I ordered a rainbow cake and was told they cant do it because it will come out "too dry". I have found another person to make this cake for me who doesn't do this professionally and she has no concerns about it coming out too dry. I will never support this place again. This place shouldn't offer custom cakes and should only advertise what they are able to do.

Also, missed part of my order and had to wait for the cake, even though I chose pick up for 10AM. Not a big deal, but noted due to it being my first experience with them. The owner dropped off and didn't engage customers at all.
