Wish there was a proper cart drop-off in the parking lot and lines can get pretty long. Would also recommend to cross shop with Superstore. Some things are cheaper here and other things are cheaper in Superstore, but both on their own are still cheaper than save-on. Convenient location as well.

Security asked me to leave my back pack. No one else was asked. I asked them not to leave my bag unattended and when I returned the security guard left my backpack unattended in the entrance. I seen a lot of people with backpacks. Cashier was a bit terse.

This place sits somewhere between a traditional hardware store and lifestyle boutique. Products range from foodstuffs and spices, to decorative pieces, to kitchen gadgets, to cookware, to stationary and of course to hardware. Really well curated and a fixture on Main Street for many years. I always stop in whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Great for gifts too.

The prices here are a bit higher for most products than the Super Store down the street even though both are owned by Loblaws. This store is however cleaner and feels more welcoming. Also has a bit different selection of foods.

I did my weekly shop, only to find out I was missing my wallet. I was freaking out a bit and told the cashier I was unable to pay. I was hoping she would put my groceries aside so I could collect them once I found my wallet and could pay. She asked for my phone number and told me, " Go ahead and take your stuff home. You have ice cream and some other frozen stuff that you don't want to thaw, I have your number, you can come back and take care of it later." Wow... I took my groceries home and while I was putting them away I got a phone call. They said if I wanted to pay with a credit card I could just do it over the phone and save the trip back. I ended up finding my wallet and going back to the store to pay my bill, but was blown away by the trust and service. The lady I dealt with seemed to act like it was no big thing, but she made my day. So nice to know there are still businesses that treat their customers like real people... Nothing but good things to say about this store. Keep up the good work, Mark. You and your team are a model of how a business should be run. Thanks to your wonderful staff! Will be seeing you again soon!

Good produce and with everything you need as a grocery store. The only thing I’d say is be on guard with the price tag shown on shelf and at the till. This happened to me two times within a week. The shelf is showing a discounted price but the item is scanned for a different regular price. I noticed that because I only bought 2-3 items, but for someone who is shopping big might not pay attention. It’s also a pain when you have to spend more time waiting for the cashier to check the product price or you have to go to customer service to get it fixed. Bummer.

Went in to try and get some different flavours of my dairy free ice cream. No joy there but i did find the section with foods from Air North caterers. I passed up on the dessert goodies and got the bison pot pie. Had it for dinner and it was yummy. Wykes is an upmarket place so you pay a bit more but they will order in special foods if you order them. They have a special cash that the oldies use and you get a free bag and they will sometimes pack your order if the lineup isn't too long. Clean and tidy and a security guy at the door to wayvh you hand sanitize. Buy beware, the hand sanstiser had a awful perfumed smell. I will bring in my little bottle next time.

The grocery store looks new and nice on the outside but the inside is not new or nice at all. I rearly go to this store but each time i do go it is an unpleasant experience. It never is as clean as Real Canadian but it's better than Walmart. When you go there you feel an unpleasant experience and I believe when you visit the store you will feel the same way. The store needs an update and much cleaning to get on Real Canadians level. Also their prices are higher compared to Real Canadian which is a much nicer place to shop at.

We do our weekly shopping at Independent. It provides most of what we need, and I like that they provide local products (such as fresh produce) when available. I wish they carried a wider variety of cheeses and that some of the asian products were not so often out of stock. I like the way things are organized in an intuitive way - it is not too big of a store, so you can get all your groceries in a reasonable amount of time without walking a mile through a gigantic store. Manager is accessible and is often on the floor answering clients' concerns and questions.
