Hands down my favorite place to get cakes for every occasion! I always pre-order cakes from here for birthdays and other celebrations, and they never disappoint! I also love how they have new flavors during some holidays, and they definitely come up with some creative ideas. Really solid pastries as well - would highly recommend if you're in the area or looking for a cake for your next event(s)!
Just as good as one in Burnaby Heights. Regretfully, came too late and didn't get to have the Tiramisu ☹️. But that's my fault. Classy bakery and coffee shop.
Finest delicacy I’ve had in Fraser Valley area!
Awesome new bakery in white rock. Love their cakes and pastries.
Other than the "Flat White" all good. Good but RESTRICTED menu.
Great pastries and they prepare their coffees very well.
Great deserts and customer service I loved it and when my pastry dropped the people actually gave me another one which I thought was nice of them great food!
Delicious, will come again
Amazing croissants, chocolate and desserts... Quality is consistent with the original store in Burnaby.
Ohhh...yum! Love at first sight! Looking forward to going back again. Live far away! Best of the best! Just like being in Europe!
Great service , good selection in trears
Excellent croissants, treats, food and coffee
Best place for pastry in Surrey area. Finally a qualified French bakery in the area. ---- The croissant cube with whipped cream filling was so good.. too bad I cannot give it more star :D
(Translated) True good overall. It's clean, it's nice and the taste is there. Nothing to say about the chocolate. The quality is there. For the croissants and hot chocolate, a little effort but nothing bad, the pleasure is always present. Congratulations to Christophe and the teams for having this store away from Vancouver. A pleasure to relive during my next visit. The pear Christmas log 2020 version was a treat. The mixture and the impeccable dosage for my expectations. Finally a cake where the taste is not hidden by the overdose of sugar. Good job and Happy New Year 2021. We look forward to visiting you.
Super delicious pastries and good customer service. Highly recommended
(Translated) Good to see very good but the price too. Sorry for a family to be bought a menu for 4 in a restaurant for 4 cakes and 2 hot chocolates. (Original) Bon voir très bon mais le prix aussi. Désolé pour une famille de se voir acheter un menu pour 4 dans un resto pour 4 gâteaux et 2 chocolats chaud.
It is a great place to enjoy your coffee and some sweets, this place is absolutely stunning. Staff are very welcoming and courteous. Their chocolates are so pretty and it is just like a piece of an art. Their chocolate croissant is so good and it is definitely a must try. Their Americano is also very well made. I would highly recommend this place.
I love their fruit danish. Light and flaky, not at all soggy, just lovely! The double baked hazelnut chocolate croissant is a bit heavy. It probably can be better without so much hazelnut/chocolate filling. Great coffee and nice ambiance.
Nice croissants and tastefully coffee.
Love it here
Amazing baked goods. Cakes and croissants are delicious as are the danishes. This is going to be dangerous!
Beautiful decor. Wish I could have stayed in for my coffee and croissant. The croissant bricks are beyond delightful.
We heard about this place because of hot chocolate fest, and I am so glad we went. Pastries were amazing, the hot chocolate was so good, and the guy who helped Geoffrey was an amazing help and so friendly! We will defs be back
The croissants are all delicious! Best in the area for sure. Not a big fan of the cakes and seasonal feature items - they look pretty but lack flavour.
Good place for a simple meal.
Fanominal baked goods. We got one over everything this morning and they were gone in 5 min.
amazing detailed textures and flavours in the desserts, and delicious croissants
Actually excellent Americano! Strong, not bitter, just great coffee. Nice savouries, yummy sweets. Go to again for sure.
Absolutely stunning place and products. No words to describe ❤️ I am in love ❤️????
Friendly and efficient staff, and the croissants remind me of back home in France/Switzerland ♥️ finally a real croissant around here, yay! I also ordered a Tiramisu for my boss’s birthday and we were all so amazed, best Tiramisu I have ever had.
Amazing coffee and pastries!
I ordered a croissant & pain au chocolat and both were delicious.
Loved the desserts here! Definitely coming back.
Nice chocolate and pastry. Ok cofee
Nice little bakery/cafe. I've been back, week after week, to try all of their different pastries. The savory ones, in particular, are my favorite! The cream filled croissant cubes are unique. I really enjoyed them! My experience with the staff here has been nothing but pleasant. They are very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to get in there early for the best selection of pastries. They are often sold out of all the good stuff later on in the day.
Customer service and quality have gone downhill. Rudest customer service I've experienced. They actually made my mother cry. Refused to give her an order she paid for, didn't communicate you needed a 4 digit number to pick up your order. I recommend going to any other bakery in the area.
How disappointing. I’ve been wanting to come here for months and when I finally came for a visit, the customer service was horrible.. there was no available seating inside no problem so we sat outside... one minute before 4pm an employee barged out and informed us they’re closing that they need to take the tables in.. EXCUSE ME? How rude! We are mid finishing our dessert, and they rushed us telling us to leave. Not sure if this was a manager or just an employee but this is not a way to treat customers; I’ve worked at a cafe before and we do all the closing-cleaning and THEN the tables. Very disappointed, won’t be coming back. Not paying a high-price tag to be treated like that.
Saw this beautiful store online and had to give it a try. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the very nice staff and BEAUTIFUL pastries. So hard to decide on what to get... I ended up getting the Earl Grey choux, mangue chocolat cheesecake, and the double baked chocolate hazelnut croissant. All of them were delicious, but the hazelnut croissant... that was absolutely decadent and my new all time favourite. Definitely will come back if I'm in the area.
This is the best bakery around! I have not had anything that was not just wow! Even coffee delicious. Parking always available and outdoor bistro seating outside and inside. Nice to have an authentic piece of Europe! The cubes are so delicious. I can't wait for passionfruit cube.would be so delicious. The croissant crunch is to die for and so buttery tasty good.
Highly recommend this place!
New favourite for me in our neighborhood! As a self-taught cake and pastry maker myself, I really admire the creativity in the flavors and pastries they make here. Also, they taste divine. Had a great experience with the staff, too!
Was the most delightful service and the most delicious cake and a lot of referrals coming
Forget to take the photo. Their croissant is the best. Customer service was amazing. Love it
This place.is super cute and chic inside. Their croissant cubes were so flakey and delicious with a creamy filling. I tried their petite mousse type cakes. The mango chocolate was so good and they have a rotating weekly flavour as well. Best to go first thing in the morning as a few of them seem to sell out fast! The coffee has some great nutty flavours.
Love the place and desserts
Wonderful bakery. Every item is delicious. They also do chocolates and coffees. 10000/10
Visited for their Hot Chocolate Fest, unfortunately while most participants offered their hot chocolate specials until February 14, Chez Christophe's offerings were only until February 10 & I failed to notice. Anyhoo, off we went & patiently waited in line outside in the snow. When it was our turn we entered the shop & asked for one each of their Hot Chocolate Fest items to which we were notified it ended February 10. Okay, no problem, we'll need a minute to look at their other offerings & decide. However we weren't really given that minute to look because as we were deciding, our server called in the next person into the store. So now the pressure is on. We quickly ordered the first two items that piqued our fancy, the Whiskey Chocolate Cruffin & Raspberry Cube Croissant. We wanted to look at the other items within the store but nope, it was onto ordering drinks. My partner ordered a latte & I wanted to order one as well, but when I asked if they had soy or coconut milk I was informed they only had oat or almond. So I politely declined to which I received an incredulous response of so no drink at all?! My partner did ask for one item he likes from there (we first got them from their other location in Burnaby) which is their chocolate covered coffee beans. She motioned where they might be & allowed him a brief moment to grab it (he had to weave in & out of other customers because they kept calling them in) before she quickly rung us up & told us where we could pick up our drink. No sooner had we left the cash the Barista dropped our drink on the table & called it out. While the items here are delicious, the customer service is seriously lacking. I wonder how much in sales they are missing out on, by not allowing the customer time to look through the store. We're in and out like cattle. No welcome, no goodbye, no pleasantries while we order. It's unfortunate because this place has great potential, if only they treated us nicer, we might become regular customers. But this will more than likely be our first & last visit. How can you enjoy their treats if their customer service leaves a sour taste in your mouth?
Very rude staff. They don’t even greet properly. Their attitude is very unprofessional and disappointing. I wanted to buy couple of cakes but 2 mins with one of their staff member made me feel like never to enter there store. This was my third experience in a row. I had to wright it this time.
Really enjoyed my experience here. The desserts were very tasty. I liked the atmosphere too.
Best oat milk latte I've had! Super "creamy" foam and sweet, not bitter coffee taste.
The matcha cake is sooooo good ????
The place itself is beautifully designed, the service is fantastic, and the food is to die for! Definitely will be coming back again and again!
Love the coffee and the baking.
5/5
Excellent. You can really tell there is a lot of attention to detail making these little cakes. The mix of flavors and different textures was superb. Pricey but every bite feels worth it. Nice treat for special occasions.
Delicious pastries, cakes & chocolates. Hot and cold drinks.
Over rated , went here on Saturday , asked for two latte , two cheese Croissants , when they were served Cold, the latte was Luke warm The staff were not friendly and looked unhappy, no atmosphere The tables were small and cramped with a cold blast every time the door opened A bar of chocolate is $8.95 .....would never go back Poor service and expensive cost us $28.00
This place is awesome and dangerously located less than 10 minutes away. Cakes and pastries are all very good, now I don't have to drive so far to downtown or Vancouver west end for cakes.
Delicious and decadent.
Fantastic and so welcome for the neighborhood. Everything was great. Just work on the latte art and maybe work on dialing in the Pallet beans a bit better (overdosed?) to really push things over the top. Baked goods are flawless and great selection
I always look for the best croissants in the city and this is one of them... it melted in my mouth.... and the double baked almond croissant was too die for... may have to visit my father-in-law more often since he is just around the corner. I didn't get to try the cubed filled croissant but I will trust me I will be back. The almond croissant was just under 6.00 and the pain butter croissant is 3.75 I think... both not bad for the quality and how big they are. Individual desserts were just under 7.00 if I remember. And they have chocolates! It's like $2.95 each.
Very good product, a little expensive, but mostly worth it. Was surprised to see a bottle of liqueur for sale without them appearing to have a liqour license - I assume they have whatever license they need. Update - thanks for the note, I had seen the Liqueur, I guess just part of the display then. At 25% it wasn't syrup, but it certainly sounded tasty. See you again sometime soon.
Good customer service, a nice variety of pastries
Luscious and exquisite. Expensive but it doesn't hurt to come here for a box of treats once in a while. Will return.
Chez Christophe has excellent individually, handmade coffees. Definitely upscale and a nice selection of handmade pastries, real french macarons, lunch sandwiches and not a crumb out of place.
A bustling cafe with chocolate galore! Try the individual cakes. Everything is pleasantly rich with chocolate flavour! I had the Bae-ley's pecan (Valentine's special) with Bailey's Monte, dark chocolate mouse, Bailey's ganache, pecan brownie and a cocoa nib crunch. One bite and you'll salivate!
The only reason they get two stars is for the quality of their food/drink. The service on the other hand would definitely be a less than a two star. Very unfriendly unhelpful person working the till, the other staff seemed nice but unfortunately we weren't served by them.
Good little patisserie, tried their cheese cakes, they were good without being overly sweet and looked awesome. The red cheese cake looked fantastic, bought it bcos of how it looked, lol, did not disappoint. We also tried a couple of their mousse cakes, they were good as well. It is a little expensive, but, good little treats, will be back for more.
The friendly staff made the experience of coffee, lunch and dessert very pleasing. They answered all of our questions and the coffee and food was delicious! I recommend trying Chez Christophe.
Like a Parisian cafe. Their baked goods, truffles and specialty desserts are all decadent!! Delicious coffee too!!
Best croissants ever! Every season they have many different flavours to try and everything they make is just delicious.
Must try their double baked croissants and the Sunny's Matcha cake. That cake is very yummy and unique (imo) since they use a sesame base instead of a standard base. It fit very well with the yuzu and matcha flavours. Though I recommend order online and pick up since the paste few times I've gone they've been quite busy.
This was my first visit and won't be my last. The desserts and croissants are to die for. The coffee is really good as well. The staff is very is friendly and efficient! I highly recommend Chez Christope.
Amazing baked goods Good coffee
Had the mango chocolate cake and 6 smaller individual sized cakes slices. The mango chocolate, lemon tart, and gianduja cherise were my personal favorites but they were all incredibly good tbh. It's pricey here but if you want to splurge a bit, it's well worth it.
Every cake and Latte here are soo good, worth time spending with your loved ones and friends.
Amazing croissants
Yum! Very nice place.
Wish I had taken photos, the pastries we got were amazing!
As a Frenchman I have to admit, their Pains aux Chocolat are fantastic ! Can't wait to try their Desserts
Delicious food and good service. No guest wifi, though. In 2021.
A great place to pop in for an Americano and a treat. Although I am a savoury snacker, I have enjoyed all of the sweets that my wife has brought home - in general I find most sweets to be more sweet than they need to be for the flavours to stand out, but Chez Christophe clearly knows what they are doing, the balance is just right. My favourite treat though, is the sausage roll, which I would easily rank as the best that I've had to date.
Great chocolate and desserts
Drinks are mediocre, small, and expensive. Almost any coffee shop is far better. The desserts are delicious and very fancy. The service is nothing special and the restaurant space is poorly managed. I probably won’t bother returning...
Great service, friendly staff and delicious treats!!!!
The only European style patisserie at South Surrey. A little expensive though!
Incredible baked goods and friendly staff. Trust me when I say it is a pastry lover's paradise. A great addition to the White Rock food scene!
Ordered a cake for my son’s birthday! It was so delicious! Will visit again to try their pastries!
Good pastries and desserts most of the time.
Fabulous! Sophisticated and delicious!
Awesome foods and staff are very helpful too
Always a pleasure. They make incredible chocolates with balanced food pairings. I love coming here
Response - There are plenty of banks that charge minimal/zero fees, if you sign up for the correct business account! Charging people to use credit or debit during a pandemic is just crazy!
Food and coffee is always great here. The croissant cube is to die for. Waiting for them to make the chocolate one on a day I stop in.
Started really well, we had croissants and other Vienoiseries. Double baked chocolate and hazelnut is delicious. However other pastries are mainly sugar, had the 3 chocolate cup, could not tell the difference between chocolate layers, just all sweet cream. Tiramisu is ok but added blobs of cream ruin it. Been a few times, once at 4:30pm by the time we got our hot drinks 4:40 and at 4:50 we were told they close at 5. Also cleaning the floors while open not ok. Or warn people coming in that they will be kicked out at 5 exactly.
Their pastries are just incredible!
We have purchased a lot of various baked goods, packaged sweets, cakes and chocolates from this location. We love everything in this lovely shop. I do feel the level of customer service may be improved. While I would not say anyone has been rude; a bit abrupt may be a more accurate description. Your customers would truly appreciate a more welcoming feeling while we visit! Thank you!
Since they have opened we have tried about 6 different cakes. This is the place if you want to have an excellent dessert. The cakes look like works of art and are super delicious. Everything is freshly made. About time White Rock had a good place to get a decent dessert!
Good coffee.
The most amazing chocolate/bake shop I've ever been to. The chocolates are absolutely beautiful. Each one has it's own very unique flavor unlike any chocolates I have had before. They look like tiny works of art. If you want to buy someone a really special box of chocolates this is the place to go. There is no comparison. To add to that the desserts are amazing!
The pastries and sweets are simply incomparable!
Great environment to dine in. Friendly staff. Almond croissants are the best. All of their cakes are delicious. There are layers of flavours and surpeises. Our favorite is Sunny's Matcha.
Too expensive for such small portions. I am willing to pay up but 2 small bites or even just one bite for $7-$8 is too rich for my blood.
I saw some post that it’s too expensive and yes it is pricey. But their desserts are worth the price. I’ve been coming here since it opened and tried all their cakes and croissants (no chocolates, coffees). Most of them are good. Especially their Tiramisu, Yuzu Matcha is something you can never get anywhere else in Surrey. My father is 68, Japanese, and was surprised with the delicate mix of flavours. Earl grey is phenominal, mango chocolate is a must try. It’s our new go to place for Bday cakes and family that comes down from Vancouver preorders and asks me to pick it up for the. Too bad they are not open in Sundays too. Very consistent and I’ve never had a bad experience. They stayed strong through the pandemic and I truly appreciate it. Update 12/24/21 I’m always happy with them but today, the guy who was doing online orders outside opened my box and the chocolate fell on the side, then he picked it up with his BARE HANDS and put it back....I go there quite often so didn’t make a huge deal but I said “did you wash your hands?” And of course he didn’t. I mean during Covid do you really touch peoples food with bare hands? Not even covid. You just don’t do that if you’re not a chef. Very disappointed it happened at one of my favourite places.
(Translated) Great croissant !! (Original) Great croissant!!
Very fancy and delicious! Nice to see some new flare in White Rock!
Their pastries are so good I nearly cried. If everyone could band together and keep Chez Cristophe in business for ever and ever White Rock might actually be cool someday.
Exceptional
Fabulous pastries and chocolates!
I love the atmosphere here and the croissants ♥️ I've just tried the soup - delicious as is the Brie Danish. The chocolates and pastries look amazing. I'll try that next time.
Best croissants
Great food, coffee, treats and staff. What more could you want?
Your senses will love it!
Everything looks and tastes amazing!!!! Need a special treat? This is the place!!! Love it.
(Translated) Please go to Thierry in Vancouver It is incomparable and even cheaper !!!!! Don't get ripped off by this pseudo pastry chef (Original) SVP allez chez Thierry à Vancouver C’est incomparable et voir moins cher !!!!! Ne vous faite pas arnaquer par ce pseudo pâtissier
The almond croissant is to die for.
The coffees and pastry is great .
Stunningly yummy
Great treats.
Everything is good Except Lady works there I think she is manager. better not be!! Very rude, offensive, does not want to give customer help. Hope the Owner teaches the lady better in customer service. Never going back there because of her!!!
Love this place. Worth every penny. The staff are as great as the pastries.
Good service Love the croissants
My wife and I love this place. Their desserts are absolutely amazing. We recommend them to everyone who loves exceptional food. We did have a problem with one order we took home, but as soon as they found out about the issue, they made it up to us.
The birthday cake we ordered this weekend was delicious. We will definitely be ordering many birthday cakes from here. And enjoying a great coffee and a pastry in the shop, which is beautiful.
(Translated) I am very disappointed with this store. I went there on 04/29 to buy 2 cakes for my daughter’s birthday. When the waitress asked me what I wanted, I just told her that I needed a minute to read the ingredients of the cakes to avoid an allergy. While I was reading she took the cakes and sold them to another customer behind me !!!! ???????????????????? When I pointed out to her, she made no apologies !!!!! It’s all very well to make a French concept, but the service must also follow, especially in view of the prices !!!! I am from Paris and I can attest that at Pierre Hermé for example it is very upscale with the respect of all customers I would never set foot there again! You might as well go to Vancouver at the Faubourg café where the welcome is much more pleasant.
