Excellent pastries. Stand up to anything in France.
Bake goods and coffee
It really feels like you’re treating yourself to something special when you have a coffee morning or afternoon tea here. The chocolates are of the highest quality and baked in house. Lovely patio too!
A nice place for a tea and a dessert. Coconut lime dessert was good.
This year I got cakes from different shops, but the one I got from this shop was the most expensive and the least delicious of all. Plus I didn't get a proper or kind service when picking up the order I put online. Plus Items in this shop are way over priced.
Amazing food and very helpful staff
Have been passing by this a few times and today finally had the chance to try it. Mocha was beautifully done. Chai tea latte was good and not sweet at all. Their pastries are very good too. Had the almond croissant and “opera.” Really loved opera and will certainly recommend it. The croissant was not too fresh but I’m sure at some point it was! They also have lots of seating available and paintings for sale.
Great for chocolate lovers. Ok for chocolate 'likers'
While their cakes and coffee are all great in quality I'm really disappointed by the quantity of their party size cakes. I ordered a cake weeks back and on their website it said "Serves 10-12 people" but from the looks of it, this cake can barely serve a party of 5. The image on their site doesn't give much info about how big it is relative to a person or a serving size as they are close up photos. You need to change the way you market the quantity you serve (I don't know if your cakes are meant only for kids or not). Putting a size measurement of a cake like (20cm x 20cm) or so would be a much more accurate means of conveying your message. I am not denying the quality, it was very good but the quantity was a huge disappointment especially considering I ordered your cake for a party of 12.
Not a lot of seating available. This causes your order to be rushed because standing in line takes up a lot of room. There are two other chocolateirs on the same block, so I'd suggest grabbing something small you want to try then go to another cholateir, get something there and stay there.
I had a mix of good and not so good service.
If you like great coffee and croissants, go here.
Good atmosphere and clean. Not close enough but worth to try!
Meal type
This layered dark chocolate cake was heaven. One of the best I've ever had and I eat a lot of desserts.
Everything was tasty, but it didn't seem all that special. I'd come back here, but I'd also be open to trying other places. Also a bit spendy in my opinion.
pastries are delicious
Very unique joint. Artistry in treats and desserts. Plus the Stumptown coffee to top it all off. fantastic.
EDIT: I used to think this place had the best coffee in the city. Today, I came with friends after having boasted about previous experiences. We arrived during a slow period and ordered some sandwiches. Nearly everyone's order was wrong, and soup was cold. As a coffee lover, I used to frequent this spot for their flat white. After receiving a coffee with milk in it, I had a 5 minute argument over what a flat white is. By their definition, it's just espresso with milk, picture of my "flat white" attached. I won't be back until the baristas are properly trained. And customer service improves. OLD REVIEW: Best coffee I've ever had, but it's priced accordingly. An espresso coffee will cost you at least $3.50 but it's worth it. Furthermore, the pastries, chocolate, and bags of coffee are very expensive but they are high quality. Staff are friendly and polite even when it's busy. I only wish it opened earlier in the morning.
So Good Hot Chocolate!
Delicious pastries. However a bit too expensive
Delicious high quality pain au chocolat! Eating one feels like you are in France.
Personally not a huge fan of their coffee as it is way too acidic. However do go here if you want state of the art chocolate creations, delicious baked goods and beautiful cakes to take home. They have a few savoury options too for those like myself who don't always have a sweet tooth.
Excellent tasting pastries!
A bit pricey but awesome. Almond croissant from heaven ❤️
Great cup of coffee. The passion fruit truffle was delish.

"Great place, atmosphere, service and fantastic pastry...."
...great place to go with a friend to enjoy awesome pastries and coffee.
Fantastic!
Amazing pastry, if you are in west van you have to go for sure .
Love the croissants, coffee, and scones!
A visit here proves that ‘you get what you pay for’. This is not the cheapest option in the area but that just goes to prove that the saying is true!
First, I am not big fun of chocolate but I love this place cake specially caramel mango cake. Its beautiful n tasty. We always order cake for birthday. Even gifted to people, everyone enjoyed and asked where I got from. Also croissant and kanure is awesome too! For cons are lunch time is quite busy and some cakes are quite sweet . Highly recommend place if you love cake n sweets, when you around there!
Best bkfast croissant pastry I've ever had n specialty coffee's
No doubt on top of my list for fresh patisserie in West Vancouver. The ambiance is also good and it’s a great place to visit a friend. The price though is higher than what you would normally pay. Staff are friendly but wait time is longer than usual. You can also order birthday cakes here or buy fresh chocolate products.
Best croissant in town.
Delicious
Serving up Stumptown Coffee and house-made pastries and chocolates. They do a great affogato.
Greasy/oily croissants. Lemon loaf sub par. Recipes need adjustments.
Amazing selection of pastries, fresh tasty sandwiches, and of course delicious chocolates. Nice out door patio to sip your espresso.
(Translated) Amazing place, excelente bonbons and petit pastry (Original) Amazing place, excelente bonbons and petit pastry
Pretty dope chocolate adventures, and some amazing cake action! Best hit chocolate.
Temper Chocolate & Pastry is such a great addition to Dundarave. Hands down the best croissants in the city; the almond ones are my favourite. Then there is the desserts and the chocolate. so yummy!! Great service and atmosphere. I often take friends and clients there, especially the ones that don't know it and they are always impressed.
Finally a place in Dundarave that’s chic, high quality AND delicious! The owner is a celebrity chef in the works and terrific personality. Super friendly staff and service. Just the right spot for a weekly weekend coffee and pastry.
Great place for sweets. Very good!
The pastries are to die for. Sandwiches are great too.
I love cakes and they're delicious
Service
Lovely cafe. Brilliant chocolates and pastries - tastes genuinely very good and not too sweet at all like the cheaper places. Nice ambiance too!
Wow! This place is incredible! Every time I go here I'm so impressed with the quality of chocolates and pastries. The quality is by far the best I've had in Vancouver. The owner is so passionate about his craft and always experimenting with new pastries. Trust me, if you want years of pastry excellence in a top class interior design, this place is a MUST!
BEST desserts ever !!! Loved their flavors.
What a wonderful addition to Dundarave Village. A beautiful modern space, a great patio and European quality chocolates and pastries. You have not lived until you have tried their almond croissant!
Breakfast
Quality
Such a beautiful shop!!! Every pieces is like an art creation. Service is also amazing. Little gem in Dundarave Village.
Good pastries but super expensive.
Delicious
The coffee is ok. I didn't like the pastry. The inside is very hot. Outside is nice
Had a great visit for a quick bite to eat. Delicious food, friendly service, and cool atmosphere. First time visitor. Will be back for sure!
Great variety of pastries and handmade chocolates. Good service and wonderful ambiance.
the nice barista gave me an extra shot in my mocha and gave my friend some extra whip before close :-) made my night !
A neighbourhood gem, with delicious ham & cheese croissants, sandwiches and pastries (pain au chocolate, laminated brioche, etc) . And the chocolates! I have never been disappointed.
Cosy little coffee shop with an outside adorable terrace Amazing for people watching Delicious bakeries and pastries with a wide in house made gift ???? items ideas to select from I enjoyed my pistachio croissant and tiramisu I sipped slowly my cafe latte very well done The chef here is so outgoing and modest he was so patient repeating for me their wireless password wow so friendly and helpful with a sincere smile both with the cutest African Canadian barista who was very friendly too????❣️ I highly recommend it as the best spot so far in west Vancouver Thanks for an enjoyable morning guys cheers
The staff members who were working at the time of my visit werr great! the pastry was delicious - the best I've had!!
Love the Hot Chocolate. Was lucky to stop by during the Chocolate Festival - Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!
Mean staff.
pastry are fresh and tasty. Their almond croissant is one of the best in metro van imo. Zucchini loaf is something special which I would always get one when it's available.
An absolute gem of a place. The food is exceptional, I love the curry chicken salad and the summer salad. I haven’t tried the flaky biscuit breakfast sandwich yet simply because I’m scared I’ll love it too much. The matcha is done perfectly here. The matcha yuzu mousse cake is devine.
Best croissants in the city, for me. I asked the owner, Steve, about the croissants, one day, and he was very friendly and pleased that I noticed the difference; turns out they put a lot of time and thought into testing different butter and rest times for their viennoiserie dough, and he was happy to answer my questions about all this. Now he usually comes out and greets me if he sees me in the store--this has been going on for a couple of years. They usually warm up the croissant if I ask, which I really appreciate. They also have room temperature butter to serve with croissants, sometimes, which is also huge, for me. Very serious place for chocolates, desserts, french pastry, and coffee. Love it.
My love!!!
Take out
For chocolate look no further, the best creations and coffee too.
Awesome place to chill
Nice presentation of chocolates, baked items. Clean contemporary look, large Carrera marble slabs on counter tops, walls etc. Next time I will try a croissant
As a girl from France, I am really picky when it's about French pastry. I had a Pain au chocolat and it just bring me back to my country. A nice oat milk latte, and everything was served fast and with a friendly staff. I recommend this place ????????
Cakes pastries chocolates oh my. My family and I tremendously enjoy going here every year during the hot chocolate festival, although that's just an excuse to go. Quality Service atmosphere are all A+.
Delicious coffee and cakes
Worth checking out if for a nice getaway from the rush of the world. One bite of their delicacies will take you into another world! Very good place to go. Comparable with Thomas Haas, but much better seating arrangement. You also will not feel so pushed over in line when its crowded. And Temper gets crowded, because it is GOOD!
This is my family and friends's favorite place to have a pastry and coffee. When they reopen, we went there once but it was closed. Today I promisedmy son when I back home with almond croissant. But when I arrived they were cleaning, I was so disappointed. But a guy came to asked me what I want, I told him what I promised my son, then he went to kitchen packed two croissants for me, one is almond and one is original by free. I couldn't believed my ears and he made my day. That's so sweet. Thank you!
Cute little place to get a coffee and a pastry, the service was a bit slow and I had to ask about my order and remind them I had paid for a pastry that I had not yet received. So tasty treats, sleepy service
Simply the best desserts, chocolates and savories in Vancouver. Hands down.
Other
It’s just a Thomas Ha’as copy but nowhere close to the quality and taste.
Serious fun at this place--taking chocolate to an art form in a really charming neighbourhood!
Horrible ownership and horribly treated staff. Recently didn’t credit their talented chocolatier on an amazing art piece that got praise on TV. I will never again support a business that doesn’t credit their artists!
Thank you for making me a decaf coffee. It was excellent The pain au Chocolat had only one Chocolat bar.
Excellent croissants, honestly you won't find much better in the city. They serve Portland's Stumptown coffee as espresso brew, which is pretty good. Surprised how brusque and rushed the service was here. When they forgot our coffee, the staffer just stared at us, pushed the cup across the counter, no apology. Elegant interior and lovely street level patio. But we'd rather head elsewhere where service is friendly.
Absolutely the best almond croissant in West Vancouver! $$price but very delicious!
Super delicious!
The best sandwiches in West Van
Make sure you try the Charlie Bite
Same look and concept as Thomas Hass, but much much lower quality while the price is the same and maybe more. Unfortunately Temper Chocolate and Pastry is basically the only option people of West Vancouver has. We are happy to at least have temper here but really hopping that they work on quality and freshness of products. Taste of coffee they serve can be better, since its not comparable to other coffee shops such as Crema and starbucks. I would suggest that they serve better local coffee and freshly baked pastries.
Delicious treats, including traditional French-style croissants. They also serve Stumptown Coffee, which is fantastic.
Excellent croissants and very good cappuccino
Meagan makes, without a doubt, the best croissant AND the best brisket I've ever had
The curried chicken sandwich is phenomenal! Great iced coffee too
Excellent service and excellent taste
The only place in North America, that makes me feel like your back in Paris!
Absolutely amazing
Been there twice already always sold out of sandwiches. Asked them if they can make new ones they look at me like I have offended them.
Fairly nice and clean little cafe in West Van. Located in a really quiet neighborhood. Came here to try out one of their participating hot chocolates during the 2018 hot chocolate festival. The hot chocolate itself was good, but nothing special about it. The flower thing on top though tasted kind of...sour. I did not like it one bit. But other than that and it being a bit far, I would consider stopping by again if I were ever in the neighborhood, but probably wont go out of my way to come here.
The best
Very nice pasteries. The flat white was good too
We just tried the coffee and a few of the goodies and were impressed with the quality. Very good vibe and location, service was really good. Highly recommend the coffee shop.
Great food! Great staff! I'm a huge fan!
Raspberry chocolate pastry was good. The dark chocolate one was disappointed. It wasn't fresh, it has a freezer taste....
Wanted to go to another place for breakfast, but found it wasn’t opened on Sunday. Saw a few ppl carried boxes of goodies fr Temper & decided to come here for breakfast. Their croissants were delicious! Outdoor dining area was spacious but not heated.
Simply amazing.
Great quality cafe, variety of pastries and chocolate
Rude arrogant Staff, terrible attitude, not friendly but also aggressive and unprofessional. Customer service is last you will find here. The pastry and sandwiches are OK, nothing exceptional but staff and management is horrible. No respect for customers but bunch of rude, arrogant unprofessional people running this place. Who is the management that does not even care to train staffs some customer service.
Great selection of pastries and chocolates. Good coffee. Place has limited seating and can be busy at times. Wish the patio area was heated.
Underwhelming first time and we live down the street. Went there Saturday around 12noon with my 8 year old. We couldn't sit inside because the bench seat came off. She liked the dulce de leche chocolates. The Croissant with Chocolate wasn't special could get same at grocery store bakery. Should have been heated. It wasn't served on a plate but handed to me in a take out bag, while others had plates and cutlery. Noone offered a choice. Americano was extremely rough. Reminiscent of instant coffee, too acidic and I instantly felt nauseous and sick in my stomach, I didn't expect that from an Americano which is espresso and water. I sure didn't feel special eating a Croissant out of a take out bag while drinking a sub par Americano while having to move to a different table with useable chairs...Maybe the chocolates were good but I didn't try it, too bad my 8 year old wasn't paying the bills..Wish I had something better...At $15- no thanks, I definitely expected better.
Service
Delicious
Great coffee, not a lot of gluten free options, but lovely chocolate. Seating outside is available.
pricy
This place is awesome. I highly recommend their cakes. I bought two individual ones and both were fantastic. I love their almond croissant as well. Super tasty. So wish they have another location so I can get my crossiant craving fix all the time. Definitely will come back to try other goodies.
Whereas the store is really nice and super clean and the front of the counter people are nice and effective.. their food (not the chocolates as I haven’t purchased just yet) is expensive for what you get and, honestly, not of great quality. We order a sandwich croissant and the food was greasy (quite a bit) and falling apart right away. Not what you expect from a $12 sandwich! Then.. even though the counter staff is super nice.. the kindness disappears when you confront the barista.. not even eye contact. She looks and gives a vibe of being so unhappy.. when you tell her that you are waiting for your drink she just ignores you.. we waited 12 minutes for a hot chocolate.. and the store was empty! Not coming back soon, for sure.
I love this place! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Their almond croissants are my favourite! Definitely recommend to stop by and check it out.
My chocolate croissant was decent. My daughter's ham and cheese was okay. But my wife's almond croissant was delicious. Bit over priced but worth it.
The best
One of the best bakeries on the entire North Shore. Excellent croissants and coffee.
Excellent quality of product. Nice local atmosphere
Meal type
The croissant had a burnt taste and it feels like they skimped on the butter. The hot chocolate they served for the hot chocolate festival was enjoyable enough though.
Great coffee spot! The Charlie Bite is the best treat to go with my cappuccino! The desserts are a work of art!
We saw Santa Claus there today visiting with a family. How often does that happen?
Best in the city
Great pastries. The person working the counter was not friendly. She clearly did nothing to want to be there that day.
I love this little cafe, great chocolate and pastry. You must try their caramel chocolate ball, they’re delicious!
The best chocolatier on the North Shore. Hands down. Don’t even get me started on the croissants. Next level amazing. The perfect crunch followed by soft inside. They’re coffee is a great addition to the in house Twix bar or assortment of treats you picked out. AND THEYRE DOING TAKE OUT RIGHT NOW. Go to their website for details!
Amazing coffee
Always a great experience here, the pastries and chocolates are to die for and service is always wonderful!
Came for the hot chocolate festival. Presentation was good but taste was lacking. Went to the counter to ask the staff member where to return my cup, she took it with a smile and I said thanks but as I was leaving heard another staff member ask if I didn't like my drink since it was barely touched, and she responded "no comment" in a tone that was not pleasant as if I had been rude to her. I don't regret paying for the drink since I came to try something new but I do regret tipping this kind of service.
I love chocolate, but not too sweet. They have awesome hot chocolate made from dark chocolate.
WELL WORTH A RETURN VISIT You can only enjoy it by one bit at a time and experience the depth of flavour that builds up with each bite. Compared to TH (sorry, can't help it), the flavour profiles of Temper's individual cakes are generally more subtle and less sweet. Good alternative to TH. UPDATE: On my second visit, I ordered tomato pesto bun, cream of mushroom and mango caramel sliced cakes. All are flavorful and well balanced with the different layers of texture. Pastries and cakes are generally in bigger portions. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Tables filled up quickly on a weekday late afternoon.
Their croissants are amazing!
Delicious croissants! ham & cheese, turkey, almond ???? very cozy and comfortable patio. True Dundarave gem!
They were sold out of every dessert, our drinks were disgusting and my almond croissant was rock hard and tasted like sand. I was really looking forward to this place and I have never been so disappointed.
Cute little shoppe,$$-$$$.
Good coffee and awesome pastries!
Great selection of pastries, good coffee and friendly service. You could really taste the butter in the brioche. Only downside is lack of parking in the area.
