Their food is amazing
The thing is, a warm pie is comfort food; it's a simple, everyday treat that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and charging so much for it that it becomes out of reach for normal people kind of defeats the purpose. - Mimi's Cake Tour
WAY over priced. Not impressed at all.
Amazing food. Slightly expensive.
Tried this place at the recommendation of a friend. Their pies are phenomenal - I’m pretty picky with the crust, and Savory Island has some of the best I’ve had. We also bought one of their frozen steak and mushroom pies which, while expensive ($45), was well worth the money.
Everything is Amazing!! Pies and sandwiches are mouth watering.... can't wait to visit again!!
Just gonna say it once. Best. Carrot. Cake. Ever. Like ever. Forever. Forevever. I'm sorry Miss Jackson, but I still keep thinking about your goey delicious carroty daughter.
Great food but pricey
The raspberry butternut tea cake was to die for! Nice and light, full of flavour and just the right size. The raspberry pie and the strawberry rhubarb pie both had a good crust but they were too sweet. Nice small cozy interior, limited seating though. Staff was friendly. It is a busy spot, so be prepared to wait to put your order in. A little on the pricey side.
Some great baked good, great for brunch or coffee.
Best place for lemon buttermilk pie. My kiddo loves it and I drive all the way from langley for it.
Great place. Tastes great.
Most delicious Apple pies in the world. Even picked up some delicious hot sauce. Yummy!
Delicious treats and coffee in cozy character Coffee Shop
Nothing really special. Ordered for delivery which came as scheduled. Lemon pie was ok but much sweeter then expected. Ordered jam but it was not available (web site not kept updated) so ended up with a different one ($12). Very runny and sweet so using it in yogurt. Irish soda bread ($10) was also on the sweet side and could have been day old.
Savary Island Pie Company
Sorry Ma.. But you just can't beat these pies!! Absolutely charmed to have become acquainted with this quaint little establishment. The girls were very friendly and accommodating for us, despite our cutting it close to their closing time. But the pie was incredible! This pie shoppe features a delightful atmosphere with reasonable prices for a little slice of something that reminds you of a simpler time. When I return to west van, and am in the mood for a treat, you can bet your peaches that I'll be swinging by for another slice of pie.
Best pies and bake goods. I wish they would make more raisin tarts. They always sell out and it frustrating.
Great bakery and delicious food and drinks...however, I can't get over the prices. I used to come here a lot and don't remember it being this expensive. I want to support local business as much as I can but I just feel they are pushing it a bit on the prices probably because of the area. Don't get me wrong, it's great, it's just pricey.
AMAZING cinnamon rolls! Great coffee and pleasant atmosphere.
Always love Savary Island, this time especially was great. They’re totally dialed with their system during covid and we’re fast and super easy. The server helping us was super duper friendly. He even gave us a free cinnamon bun!! I recommend the Tuscan chicken sandwich and of course the cinnamon bun
PIE PIE PIE!!!!Wow love this place! Pie heaven. Best place hands down for sweet and savory pie.
This is a fabulous bakery. Savoury and sweet. Last week we picked up a carrot cake with decadent cream cheese icing. Also a strawberry rhubarb pie. The crust was perfect. Did you know pie for breakfast is great. We also picked up a frozen tourtiere pie for Christmas morning. Very high marks!
I used to like the place, but l also agree with many who say it's way over priced. Over priced doesn't bother me, but over priced mixed with snooty attitude does! Last time I was there, the people behind the counter seemed to be having an unfriendly discussion. The time before that there was nobody there to answer or serve us. And finally a woman who looked like she had a long standing grudge with the cusomers finally shoed up. On the positive side, I saw them serve hot cooked breakfast.
The best pie in the lower mainland, and the sandwiches are pretty amazing too. I love the whimsical but pragmatic decor.
Their cookies ???? This place is awesome, cookies keep me coming back, but the pot pies are great too!
I love the pies
Best pies in all of metro Vancouver!
Great pastries and other food. I had a delicious soup today
Oh, I'm in love with the Italian Bread baked fresh here each day! But you have to be quick or they'll sell out! Another favourite is the scones & muffins...fresh berry flavours and lovely textures.
The best pie place in BC
Tasty but pricey for what you get
Consistently excellent bread and pies. Fantastic sandwiches.
Great pies!
Stopped by to pick up a cherry pie and carrot cake. Grab that carrot cake if you can, one of the bests I had till now. Pie was ok, bland to my liking. Service can be better, not everyone is aware of what the menu is like!
Great food, friendly staff. Nice quiet place for a cup of tea and a slice of pie.
One of only two places in the world worth getting pies. Genuinely fantastic.
Love this place. Pricey though
Very good espresso and great pie
I know its a pie place, and the meatpie was dope, but you need to try the grilled cheese sandwich. Holy shhhhh. Bomb AF. The bread alone was perfection. You guys just need to communicate better. One employee said they would call our name, so my gf waited, then the manager or owner asked if anything was wrong and my gf explained she was just waiting for food, she was then told that they would bring our food to our table.
Love this place, their raspberry scone is amazing. Their soups, and breakfast sandwiches are also very good. Always a great experience.
Very good food. Both the lentil soup and the beef pie we had was excellent. The place is too cramped though. There was a never ending lineup and people kept bumping to us as we were eating.
Best grilled cheese in Vancouver
Wasn't impressed with the food
Pie to die for! 3.14 is fast approaching. Prove how smart you are and grab a π to enjoy with your family.
I have such good memories of this place! But was seriously disappointed with breakfast here. I ordered the Savary Scramble and a Chia Latte. Firstly, my change was forgotten which is understandable, it's busy. But the the entire establishment seemed to be run by teenagers so the food literally looks like a fourteen year old and her friends tried to make you breakfast in bed. The scramble eggs were the only thing that was acceptable, there were two thin pieces of rain rye about two inches long, two pieces of white triangle cheese that was probably pulled out of a knock of kraft singles packet 30 seconds before being put on the plate, two thin slices of tomatoes, half a sloppily sliced Avocado placed face down, and here's the kicker... the jam was in a plastic container and the butter... the butter was smeared on a cupcake paper holder that was folded in half. and stuck next to the Jam. The whole arrangement of the foods had a grade 7 last minute science fair board vibe going on about it. I was saddened that I paid a whooping $18.50 for the chai latte and this which had a $4.00 value, max. Probably. I actually warned people walking in about the food, and the other customers seemed equally underwhelmed. Jeez, Savary. Just because you're the cool kids on the pie block doesn't mean you can under-deliver on food! I'm sure everyone means well, but please. If you want a pie you're in the right place, but if your looking for anything more, based on price and quality, you're better of going to Starbucks. Sigle tear.
We came during COVID on a trip for business. So probably not the best measure of the business. Found it expensive.
The tomatoe sandwich on whole grain bread was delicious. Apple pie with ice cream insane...lentil soup very tasty and coffee to finish the lunch.
(Translated) Their pie is the best! Love them (Original) 他们的馅饼是最好的!爱他们
Staff are lovely, food is amazing!
Harmony fest. Worst service ever. Ordered three slices paid 22$. Waited over 35 minutes. No pie and no refund (machines were down). Huge argument with waitstaff. Walked away no pie and no refund. Buyer beware.
Arguably the best pie place in the GVA. The staff have all been really friendly and they always have a wide selection of pies and other baked goods. They even started making their own ice cream because they got tired of not being able to find options without a bunch of "gums" and other emulsifiers in there. That's dedication to quality in my book.
Bought during the pandemic, they mapped out the 2 meters, were very helpful at the window and my god this was the best pie I’ve ever had in my life!
Pie is excellent but gets real busy...
Zero stars(have to put 1 to post). Disappointment for the hype. Terrible service, the space is tight and uncomfortable, and the management lacks. I came here with a gift card that was damaged and asked them to transfer the funds to another card and they refused. After asking the manager she said there was no way to do this. So my $50 gift card was now useless. There is a serial number on the back and it can be tracked, any other company can do this why cant you? Don't waste your time with these people. Whole foods sells better products.
Lovely selection of pre-made treats, that's true. No apparent sense of urgency to make a sandwich within 10 minutes. Same wait for the poor couple in front of me. Not busy at all. Sandwich was pretty good.
Good food
well unfortunately due to the current crisis we were not able to walk into the store but friends have been bringing us pies there for a long time and I had a gift card and we went over and got a lemon pie and a brownie the pecan brownie was one of the best I've ever had the pies are always excellent and the parking is free there's no meters in front
I absolutely love the pies, soups, salads, raspberry muffins and carrot cake here - the food is second to none! I would have given them a five star, however, I find the food (particularly the pies) to be too pricey.
Most amazing bread and chicken pot pies.
Very expensive. Service not very nice.
Fantastic scones and coffee
Great pies, bread was good
Their crust is amazing but the pie innards are mediocre at best. Not as good as my first time there years ago. No where near as good as the Pie Shoppe in Chinatown.
Best Pies in BC
Good pies and above average baked goods. Coffee and coffee goods are a little inconsistent... Eg come for the baked stuff. Cost is a factor, as pricing is pretty high for the goods offered, but the taste is on point though, something to work out with your wallet.
Authentic and delicious pies ,great staff , covid-19 compliant,5 stars plus++
Always busy, which is good. Food and drinks are good but a little pricey for what they are. My issue was that I felt it was poorly run behind the scenes. Because the place was busy (young families and people hanging out after having finished their meals) we ended up sitting on the side and I got a full glimpse behind the scenes. I watched as our sandwich was placed on the counter and a bell was rung... then nothing. Someone looked at the bill and walked back to their station. It sat up there for 5 minutes before I was able to flag someone down. The bell was never rung twice. They needed an expo that day which failed due to proper supervision. I've worked in service for years so I hold places to a higher regard and I wasn't too impressed here.
Staffa are friendly sama as all Canadians :) carrot cake was so so and coffee was medium quality
The pie was delicious but this place is overrated. We also tried a raisin butter tart and it was way too sweet that it was not enjoyable. It's cute that it looks like you've wandered in off the street of Britain into a bakeshop but I found the prices to be a little steep for what you get.
It’s not just the delicious pie. It’s the cozy ambience, filled with the scent of baking and pastries. And it’s not just the fruit pies; they have meat pies as well. The crust has just the right amount of flakiness which melts in your mouth only the way a freshly baked pie can. Highly recommended. When it gets busy it gets busy so takeout is also an option.
Over priced sandwiches, pies , bread and soup in a cramped space. The staff is fantastic and the food tasty. Be prepared to pay the big dollar for little food.
I've tried their apple pie. Way too much cinnamon. I could barely taste the apples. Yesterday I bought a pumpkin pie there for $32. It was horrible! There is too much molasses in it. You cannot taste the pumpkin. Utterly disappointing! The piecrusts are always good, but their fillings are in no way traditional. The fillings do not honour the main or advertised ingredient. There is always too much spice or flavour and it overwhelms the flavour of the main or advertised ingredients of apple or pumpkin.
Excellent meals and desserts. Could do with a bumbleberry flavor for their pies.
Really good breakfast and the bread is out of this world!
The best place to get soda bread. Their handmade soda bread, made every morning, is second to none. Cozy spot that's always busy.
You should totally try the Curry Chicken Pie, it's amazing with the cranberries in it. Outrageous prices, really good food only when served freshly made.
Granola bar and strawberry-rhubarb pie were both excellent, but somewhat expensive. Nice cost place after a stroll on the boardwalk.
Love the Chicken Basil toasted sandwich. Food pricing is a little pricey tho.
Expensive place with nice pie.
Variety of good pies and pastries to take home.
The pies are good, but definitely not worth the hefty price tags. I bought a chicken pot pie for $50 that should have only been $20-$25 in my opinion.
The owner is a very nice person. Very helpful. The quality of products are excellent.
Great muffin s
Always delicious. Good service but it can get busy and a bit slow, just give yourself a bit of extra time
Liked the food items I ordered. Customer service didn't seem quite friendly. Maybe next time.
Great pies. My go to bakery/ restaurant when cycling to and from Horseshoe Bay.
chicken pot pie mmm
Best apple pie I’d ever had since moved here in 2012! In general, 99.9% (if not all) desserts, sweet pastry or cakes are over sweetened, at least to my Japanese-type-accustomed-taste! Had given up aft trying 15-30 stores until someone strongly recommended this Co! At N.Van! Really quite some distance from TriCities...so I made a detour aft a Whistler trip; TOTALLY worth it! Bought a frozen apple pie and a fresh slice that my hate-sweet-stuffs husband and I literally ate in 2min! Their steak pie (4”) is also superb! Not as salty as most others! Fifth like the buttermilk berry though. Nvr has I bought $70 worth of pies!! 4* coz the place is extremely busy! Even on a Sunday rainy 5pm, and shop was pack with queue for takeaways! It’ll be my must-detour for all my future N.Van trips!!
I love the veggie sandwich. It is a delicious and healthy treat.
Best pie in town
very found of the sandwiches they make here. a bit rich, but delicious
The smell of my mother's kitchen hit me as soon as I open the door. There was so much choices that it took me a while to make my mind. Strawberry-rhubarb with a tiny taste of lemon... It disappear in flash. Best pie I had since moving to BC.
I can kill for “steak, mushroom & Guinness” pie :)
Stay away from Annie Too bad this place is marred by one bad server and her name is Annie. The food is great and the coffee is one of the best in the city. The servers are always happy to serve you with a smile except for Annie. I’ve never met someone who is so rude and sarcastic to their customers and that was my experience with her today. If you can avoid Annie then enjoy some pie and coffee. If not, the coffee will taste a bit more bitter.
I had a breakfast called Savary Scrambled substituted by chicken. It was overpriced for 4 pieces of cold and undercooked chicken. Not good!
I often miss it!!!
Great food but kind of pricey for a cucumber sandwich $12+
Amazing pies, always great.
Terribly overpriced hipster joint, fitting right into the more pretentious scene of Vancouver's "hip-because-expensive" coffee houses. Some of the bread is simple toast bread and sold to you (if you do the math for certain dishes) for up to $5 per slice. That said though, the food is actually extraordinarily delicious! ... just not under these circumstances...
Wow. Hubby and I just shared a Savary Island Pie from Farm To Table in Yaletown and holy cow this is the BEST pie either of us have ever had. Absolutely unbelievable! Never stop making this pie, please, Savary Island Pie Company! The crust has a perfect texture and no sugar (woohoo!!) and the sour cherry filling is just the right amount of sweet. I love that the ingredients are minimal and it's made with organic flour. Will definitely be buying again this week! :)
Everything in here is deliciously made fresh daily. One of the best places in Van for a great lunch. You won't be disappointed.
Wonderful hot cross buns! Lemon buttermilk pie was superb. And a tortiere. Savary is a favorite of mine...never disappointed. And their display is so "pretty", albeit through the window these days. Still...a go-to during these times...take out and pick up is easy...
Food was AWESOME! ????????????????
One of our favourite spots - veggie sandwich and a cinnamon roll. Only downside - extremely popular and very hard to get a seat.
Great food, unfortunately not making sandwiches right now due to COVID
Simple, pastries and bread are killer!
This place has amazing coffee and is a good breakfast spot. Most tables are shared but everyone seems to be friendly and willing to accommodate
All baked products are great but I will not have coffee here.
Delicious! Great atmosphere with locals chatting and a wonderful sense of community. Food is great and fresh!
Always fresh baked goods. Love their egg dishes. Informal and relaxing place.
Known for rude owner and over expensive but at least tasty food
Three stars for the always friendly staff. Zero for the chalk dry raspberry scone
Cozy and comfortable spot with plenty of options for food. Pies to die for!
Excellent pies & sweets.
Incredibly delicious Ham and Cheese Omelette paired with a strong, robust, Americano
Pricey pies. A wide variety of pricey pies.
Everything here is really good and well made, but be prepared to open your wallet wide!
This is one of the very best bakeries in the lower mainland. I always look forward to coming here after a run on the sea wall. The muffins, scones, and cinnamon buns are superb. The French-style omelette is delicious too
Delicious food but SUPER EXPENSIVE!
Great food, pretty tight squeeze in the restaurant. 3 stars because there are almost always empty plates or cups on the tables that I need to push to the side and eat beside!
The best sandwiches and pies in the lower mainland! The place can be a little cramped at times, and its a little on the expensive side but the food is simply amazing. Highly recommended.
Recently gone down hill. The pie is still super tasty but the service is okay at best. The current layout of the restaraunt has a tiny access point to the kitchen right beside the tills so servers and people are constantly pushing past you or saying excuse me while your trying to pay your bill. The dirty dishes bins are also right beside the breezeway so you'll have other guests pushing dirty plates past you while youre standing in line. My pie was also served cold and I'm pretty sure they microwaved it afterwards as it came back mushy but at least hot.
It was ok! Eggs weren't fully cooked. We ordered the eggs and toast and got the full meal deal...at $29.00. No coffees..we had water. It's over priced! Tried to charge my sister $16.50 for day old muffins and scones! Nice try!
Absolutely the best pie ever, have been enjoying for decades... They've become quite pricey which you can get away when you're the best!
Cozy place with freshly baked bread, pies, and a good selection of beverages. Savary Island Pie Company also offers an all day breakfast menu along with soups and sandwiches.
All fresh and really tasty !!
Food was fantastic, however ordered sandwich to go and they left it on the counter without letting us know it was ready, spent 25 minutes waiting for our food. Lucky food was delicious which made up for the service.
This place has amazing pastries. Scones, muffins, pies of all kinds and a large variety of all-day breakfasts. On top of that it always smells great since they're always baking something and making coffee. Definitely recommended.
Food is absolutely delicious. Priced quite high - I can recall when we used to buy the pot pies and they were $26, and they are now $49. I can only assume this is because they use locally sourced items, which I can appreciate. It's definitely only a once every so often treat, but a delicious one.
Peach pie was fresh, well filled, and crust was flakey. Definitely overpriced. Too crowded, so for me, I wouldn’t eat here. But I was able to tie my dog up right at the entrance door; another owner had their dog actually inside the door on the mat. I liked that about the shop. Low key. That’s really nice.
Food is good but crazy prices. I know it's west Vancouver but my God.... the omelettes are a joke . Don't come here for breakfast.
One of the best pie shops in Vancouver. Very homey taste and texture, nothing out of the ordinary, but extremely well done. Personal favorites are the pumpkin, lemon buttermilk, and strawberry rhubarb.
DELICIOUS, in a word! I thoroughly enjoyed my slice of Steak, Mushroom and Guinness pie, and my husband really liked the Chicken Curry slice on our first visit. The smell of delicious baked goods would make anyone hungry just walking in the door. On our second visit, our table enjoyed breakfast (done in simple, effective, classic form) heartily, and lingered over their WONDERFUL coffee for quite awhile. Absolutely will be back if we're in the area again!
The apple pie was absolutly delicious!!!!! So sad I had to share it with my boyfriend ????
Great bakery
Delicious brunch!
great ice tea, pesto sandwich and pie
Yummm. Try their raison rye bread if you are looking for that next addictive flavour!
Pricey but worth it. The lemon buttermilk blueberry pie was gobbled up quickly at a Thanksgiving venue. The chicken pot pie...best ever. In fact, anything ordered is worth every penny.
We walked in around 6pm recently on a Saturday and it looked like a garbage bomb had exploded. ALL the empty tables were dirty and the floor was a mess with pieces of food and used napkins. We walked out and found another place to spend our money.
The...Best...Pie!
They close 15mins early. I am sorry but if you want to leave the place by 7pm then update your closing time as 6:45pm so that we don’t need to run and then see a closed window in the end.
Bought 8$ raison loaf, was raw / uncooked
A little disappointed with pre ordering. I ordered in advanced and was told when picking up that they only had part of my order. I order 2 unbaked pies and 1 baked. Only to be told when I arrived that they did not have one of the unbaked pies I ordered. No option for refund. Either I choose something else or that’s it. I don’t personally understand why there’s a order in advance or pre ordering system in place if it doesn’t work. They only give you what’s in stock and that means nothing was prepared in advanced or maybe they sold what I placed an order for (I ordered over 48 hours in advance by the way.) If the pies were good overall, I would rate this much lower. Baked goods are tasty but this made for a bad experience.
Yummy tummy
Absolutely delicious, very friendly crew, clean and super fast, I strongly recommend try to all the dishes in their Menu.
Stopped by for some baked goodies for a late breakfast for my girls and I. Lovely selection of treats. I had the blueberry bran muffin…delicious! My girls had a scone each…one cheddar and one blueberry! They said they were delicious. They have a takeout window to adhere with Covid protocol! Fast and efficient! It was a good experience!
I can’t tell you how delicious the carrot cake is!
Great food but there's no way I'm going to pay $7.50 for 1 piece of pie after an already pricey lunch. Must be the "West Vancouver way".
Best Irish soda bread outside of Ireland
Great pie and sandwiches
Old fashioned bakery. Great place for weekend brunch. The space is tight though.
A bit pricey, but delicious!
No pies in the afternoon!!!
Friendly staff. Service a bit slow. Pies and bread loaves made from scratch. Nice to sit by the counter watching kitchen activities. The slice of chicken pot pie I ordered was filled with real chicken chucks and other veggies. Pie crust is average. Yet still have troubles to justify $9.5 for a slice of pie that size.
Been going here forever, and of course the prices have increased— which is understandable. However, if you are going to charge $8.00 for a “half” salad and I can literally see through the salad onto the plate then you’ve really got to reconsider exactly what you’re gouging people for. Also charging $17.50 for a veggie sandwich... yes it is good, but no sandwich is that good.
Great atmosphere. In here, you can go full on brunch, or simplify enjoy a fresh baked scone with a hot cup of coffee.
Press are pretty good, but quite expensive. Still don't seem *that* much better than what I could make at home. Very busy, but people cycled enough that it wasn't too hard to get a seat.
Really good pie, limited seating.
Pies were good but not great. Maybe I just had an off day but the pumpkin pie, which I've had here before was meh at best and my wife had something else that was so sweet it hurt our teeth. For a $7+ slice of pie I expect a lot more.
Had a terrible experience here. Multiple other groups that arrived after got the food first and it turned out that they'd served them our food. When the sandwich came almost half an hour after, it was burnt and cold at the same time. They weren't even apologetic. The worst part was the nonchalant staff who couldn't care less when we expressed our unhappiness with their food and service. Also, the place only has 5 tables and everyone had to wait around to catch an emptying table.
Best pies in town. I shouldn't be writing this review because the last thing I want to do is make this place busier. However never have I had pie this good. The buttermilk blueberry pie is amazing.
A little pricy but really good pies. I recommend take out as there isn't always good seating
Had the beef pie with a salad. Generous portions and very tasty meal. Not too many seats so would try to go at off peak hours. Prices are a bit more than I expected.
Annie is extremely rude. Didn't enjoy my time here. Would give it 0 stars. Annie should be fired. Pie wasn't even that good. Could've bought better pie from McDonalds. 0/10.
The baked items are good but frankly over priced especially the sandwiches.
Expensive pies, but totally worth it.
We live in the US. That's a problem because Savary is in BC. Delicious pies!
4 stars and not 5 stars only because they are very expensive: cheapest sandwich is $13.50 and they have the gall to include a tip option on the credit card payment (you order at the counter). But the "French Sandwich" is one of the best I've had.
The best pie I have ever had. ❤
I thought this was such a cute place the environment is warm and inviting, we ordered sandwiches and at first glance they seem quite pricy but the portion was very big, and it was delicious so to me It was worth the price, brownies were good but I found those overpriced but I expected it location side. Definitely a cute place to visit. The veggie sandwich I highly recommend.
Overpriced mediocrity
Here's carrot cake is Amazing!
Food was ok. However it took forever for the food to come (over 40 minutes). When the food came it was cold. Also, customer service was really bad. The owner was VERY disrespectful and stressed. This was not the first time that we had a bad experience here, but we forgot why we stopped coming to this place. As we really value our time and having enjoyable experiences we have decided not to come back again, especially when there are so many good choices with much better food and good customer service. If you are ok with average food, you are not concerned about waiting forever and being treated really bad, then this is a place for you. However, if you respect yourself, value your time and want to have a good experience, we would definitely suggest to go elsewhere.
Always the best quality products
Be careful or they will sell you their day old bread at the fresh prices. The waitress said they do it all the time!! For a 10$ loaf of bread, better not be slipping in day old for that price.
Savary Island makes the best pies and I mean THE BEST PIES. Their pie crusts are amazing and such a variety of flavours. Raspberry rhubarb is a family favourite but you honestly can't go wrong.
This place thrives in spite of itself. The pies are pretty good, but it's best to take out. The front seating area is cluttered and awkward, and frankly annoying as people pack in and line up at the counter to order. Nobody can move. I was there today with 4 others. I prefer savoury pies, so I ordered a slice of tortiere. My friends got their fruit pies right away, mine rolled in about 20 minutest later when everyone else was finished. Sigh. That aside, I truly think they need to rethink the seating, service, and prices. Not rushing back, but that won't matter, people will still jam in there.
Food is very good. However, the service is abysmal.
Heard great reviews about this place but tried it.....over rated!!!! The pies were not bad but the service is really terrible.
totally over priced
Amazing pie. Good to visit if only for the atmosphere/great pie list
Best multi grain bread ever. I buy a loaf every week or so. It's moist, tasty and slightly sweet. This bread is my favourite part of anything it's paired with. Put some butter and toast it = perfect. I love to make decadent grilled cheeses with it. Can't rave enough!
Condescending and rude customer service or lack of service or anti service not worth the abuse for ultra high calorie food
Best home style bakery in West Van
Delicious pie, curry chicken or meat pie is the best in the town , coffee is so so though
Best veggie sandwich ever!
(Translated) Delicious coffee and delicious bread shop I loved it. Feast (Original) おいしいコーヒーとおいしいパンのお店❗ 私は大好きになりました。ごちそうさま❗
Very expensive for a soup and sandwish but the attention to quality is shown through. Love the old school arrangements. Staffs are pretty friendly.
(Translated) They know very well that they cook sketching ???? (Original) Ils savent très bien qu'ils fassent la cuisine esquisse ????
British style meat pies.
Really delicious pies! Great selection. Fresh. Delicious. Friendly staff. From individual sizes to large pies that you can take home! Tried the steak and Guiness pie and it was very tasty. Right amount of spices and flavors! No outside …
Best bread in West Vancouver!
Really good pie, had the Cherry, but so overpriced. One slice of pie was $7.25 and it was a fairly small slice. If you are in the area and you want good pie, you'll find it here, just be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for it. Small interior so seating is close quarters, coffee is decent but nothing great.
Expensive but yummy
I went to buy a fruit pie at 4:00 pm; the person in front of me purchased the last fruit pie. There were no fresh pies being made, no pies in the oven. The shop closes at 7:00pm...you would think they would have pies to sell with three hours left of business. Not impressed.
Damn good muffins!
Great breakfast and awesome buns can be find here. I personally love the sourdough bread and omelets here. That being said, no one can’t ignore muffins here.
i used to love this place; went there the other day and asked for a bit of sourdough starter to my amazement the lady there and her manager refused. To give away the love in sourdough world is standard. Very disappointing.
An icon of West Vancouver. Savary has incredible baked goods and breads. Their raspberry oatmeal muffins are addictive, and their coffee is great too. Very friendly staff, sometimes quite busy.
Tea cakes....breakfast sandwiches
Omg this place has perfected the art of pie crust. And the owner makes the most amazing flat whites!
The lemon buttermilk pie w/ raspberries is incredible.
Absolutely delicious and such kind staff. Definitely love to eat here, the pies are so worth it.. Had the raspberry this time.
Excellent baked goods. Awesome service.
a fly is a fly a bookie is a bookie a pie is a pie lest we forget a cookie is a cookie
Absolutely the best pies petiod! Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Unique restively seating, so you always meet new people. Best grilled cheese in Vancouver. Period. Only thing to note is bring your wallet as this quality of baking doesn't come cheap. Usually a line up so I will share my "life hack". Instead of waiting in line and then waiting for,a seat and waiting for your culinary delight, simply look for,a seat, phone in your order and relax.
Best pie in the GVA period. The chicken basil sandwich is pretty stellar too!
Prices are ridiculous
Very nice find! Loved everything I had there
I been buying pies there pies for years . I thought $ 28 for a pie was crazy until I brought it home and enjoyed it. Now the pie is $34 it was mushy the filling and the crust . Last time I'm spending that much on a pie from there. Also I find for that type of price the tip option is distasteful. For that price the staff should be paid appropriately with benefits vacations and gold fillings for their teeth
Great pies! A bit pricey, but fresh!
Slow service, food nothing special and owner was rude and unapologetic. Didn't lived up to the hype
Awesome apple pie
Long wait. Great pies.
I personally feel welcome and comfortable when I sit in cafe with oldish wooden tables and chairs, casual-looking reading lamps, and grandma-pie smelling ambiance. This is exactly how you'll feel when you order a cup of chai latte and a slice of blueberry pie (or anything else). Love it! ❤️
The baking and the veggie sandwich here are fabulous. I’ve always been a big fan of the blueberry raspberry pie. That said, the sandwiches are definitely pricey and it can get really busy. It’s a nice post-hike treat.
A must try! (with uncomfortable seating, sorry!) but you'll forget the chairs when the dishes come.
amazing pies and warm sandwiches
They have the best cinnamon buns ????
Best pie crust. Very flaky. Perfect texture. Fresh ingredients for filling. Crispy apples. More on the pricey end for pie but may be worth it.
Very good pie and breakfast
Best pie money can buy
We visited Savary Island Pie Company yesterday after a 10 hour drive and they welcomed us like old friends. The steak pie was moist, perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The butter tarts were generously portioned and molten inside, the best I have ever had! We sat on their newly commissioned back patio and enjoyed chatting with the staff as they came and went. Our children and dog were most welcome and the owner was so hospitable, generous and friendly! Can’t wait to go back, what a special place!
Excellent quality food.
Expensive but delicious, large variety of fruit pies and savoury options as well, chicken and steak pies. Lattes, salads, sandwiches, baked goods, full pies to go along with frozen pies and individual pies. Cute shop!
The pie is good (recommend the lemon buttermilk) and so is the mocha, but the ratio of deliciousness to wait time is not favourable, so I'm likely to go to other pie spots in the lower mainland before returning here. By the time I got to the front of the very long queue, the service was harried but friendly enough.
Pies are expensive but worth the price!!! Never had a pie that tasted bad no matter the flavour.
A favourite eating spot for snacks, coffee, brunch and lunch. Great vibes, amazing food!
They stopped selling sandwiches. The pies (blueberry and strawberry rhubarb) are are a disappointment, the filling is mushy and not fruity, tasted like frozen bluebrry paste. The outside is too doughy and doesnt have a crisp/soft crunch and tastes old and not fresh. Ive been coming here for sandwiches since 2010 and this was truly saddening.
Is above average food inconsistent customer service
They have some of the best pies in the city! Wonderful selection and really cool atmosphere.
If it's good enough for Ryan Reynolds it's good enough for me
Came in on a rainy Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm. There was a short line up and most of the seats were taken. Luckily we got 3 seats for our group. …
Absolutely love this place! The pies are out of this world and the pastries are amazing! I wish they had more locations since I'm only able to visit this location once in a while due to it being a bit out of the way from where I live. But every trip there is worth it! I always buy extra to bring home.
This place used to be really good but it has unfortunately gone down hill in recent years. Last time we were in they made a mistake with my order and gave me the wrong meat pie and I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to heat up the correct one. The cinnamon bun was also really disappointing and slightly stale.
Great place! Can't go wrong!
nice serve
You'll love everything including the bread
Very expensive and sometimes staff is really annoying and have the judgiest looks on their faces. Deserts and pies are incredible though.
Love this place! The breakfast sandwich is pretty much perfect. They bake their own bread too!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this bakery. A must go to and enjoy for all of our visitors to Vancouver.
No half loaves of bread anymore? What's with the window serving? Totally silly. Time to get back to normal.
Great pies and baked goods, expect a lineup.
They were the only place open at 730am. The coffee is good, and the muffin I had was nice.
I only come here for the food. Two of the other staff are very rude and unpleasant. I dred visiting this place because of these two ladies. The younger staff are so nice and have great customer service. I’ve been told the ovens were off around 3pm too. I’m giving 1 star because of the good. Might stop visiting because of these ladies.
Good to see it hasn't changed over the years. Still cozy and high fat/low stress. Keep coming back year after year.
First things first; Whole Foods Pies = $12 for any type of pie...and they make gluten free or vegan Salary Island Pies = $33 and up... I only get my pies at Whole Foods now at special occasions. They're always fresh and delicious...not to mention always in stock! :) I don't mind paying the price for good food and believe me, they have great pies and great sandwiches but the poor attitude knocks the rating down for me. The blonde woman is not very friendly, not sure if she is a manager or perhaps the owner but I have been here many times and she is not very friendly...seems to be in a rush with every customer. But my last experience will be my last with this restaurant. I understand you're a busy place and it can seem overwhelming at times but it is still a restaurant and customer care is still very important. It just doesn't seem like they care which saddens me because they have so much potential to be this warm and welcoming little restaurant in the heart of West Vancouver. The atmosphere might be small but I like that it is intimate, which is why I don't understand why the tables don't get a wipe down after a family of 4 with very small children has eaten leaving behind a sticky trail. Perhaps they need an expo to run food and wipe down tables since I could see my sandwich sit up in the window for nearly 5 minutes, I watched many staff members from their stations peer over at my order and just go back to what they were doing...no sense of urgency. I finally had to flag someone down and ask if this was my order...I then asked for my order to go because I was so frustrated by the whole ordeal. $12 for a cold sandwich when I FINALLY received it?! NOT worth my time or money. The service was the icing on the cake. 0 stars for service and 1 stars for the food. But hey, I am very sure they don't care. I have read over many reviews, many people having similar experiences to me and not once have they reached out to these people to reconcile their problems through google review. Again, not important to them. So sad. So much potential lost.
Soooooo good. Vegi sandwich was sooooo excelent and hard to eat this. Cause many vegi was inside. And a woman coworker recomend me a bread she told me it made olive oil and top of middle sea salt.. is so good. This bread and sandwich was soo awesome. And lemon butter pie was soso the ganish cream was so good. And coffee was just normal coffee to me.
Good food but very expensive
I assume you pay your staff very well which is commendable. There is no other reason why any pie should cost in the neighborhood of 40-50 dollars.
Just normal, but can charge whatever they want for the west van clientele
Busy place (went on a weekend brunch time), so both the ordering line and service was slow. Thought the cashier was a bit standoffish, not even a greeting, please wait etc. (maybe cause they are busy?). Pie took a while to be served. It was good but not the "absolute best ever ." Small portion for the pricing, so good to try, but not sure I will be back.
over priced, terrible service, uncomfortable seating, always dirty tables and they take too long to bring your food. it's a big mistake to go there on work break.
Great pies and pastries and bread. Raisin rye is a must!
Love all the pastries, soup, bread Yummy
I liked to come here for the sandwiches but I haven't been able to get one in two years because they have been "suspended" for one reason or another every time I come. The latest reason is because of the holidays. Leaving a low review because after two years savory should adjust to the new normal and sell sandwiches again or just remove them from the menu permanently instead of randomly pulling them from the menu for months at a time. We have enough random restrictions place on us these days all I want is some consistency with my sandwiches lol.
Delicipus pot pies (savory) and coffee! I also had a scone which was quite good. The seating and food service area were a little crowded and dodnt flow well, but the feel was cozy
Lovely place! Wonderful Pies! Thanks for being in West Wan
Their meat pies are the best!
Good baked goods, delicious bread, beware the prices. I used to enjoy popping in here occasionally but I have truly been priced out now. I didn't seem to get much change out of $5 for a single muffin last time. If you are not price sensitive I thoroughly recommend this bakery. It still draws the faithful and expansion should help the crowded seating situation, but don't go expecting much change out of $20 for a very light lunch.
"Sigh" Where do I start... Hire people who actually seriously want to work. I ordered a pie and asked the lady behind the counter to heat it up in the microwave oven for me. She put it in the oven, left it in there and disappeared. I waited and waited. Where's my pie!? Where's the lady who put it in the oven?! 10 minutes later she came back, I approached her and asked her where's my pie. She said, "I. Don't. Know." I said, "You put it in the microwave oven. Check it there again!" She walked over to the oven, took it out and walked back to the counter and placed the pie on the counter with an attitude that I have been bothering her. No apology!!!! I'm surprised customers still give reviews to this restaurant. Not going to recommend this place. Period!!!!
Stopped there the other day for cookies. The lady dropped the last cookie on the floor so she gave it to someone at the back who just put the same cookie in a different bag. Didn’t even try to hide it. Also their shortbread cookies are …
The food is wonderful - best pie crust anywhere, and coffee is ok. It is the consistently poor eating environment that makes this one star - every visit, I’ve had to remove the previous patron’s dirty plates and cups, and wipe the table clean myself. The floor is covered in food spills and crumbs. This needs attention, and more staff handling front of house. As others have noted, food orders can be delayed or go missing. After waiting 20 minutes we asked about the slice of pie and got a surly response.
Just deliciouse U won't be disappointed
Always love Savary!!!
Fascinating place to people watch...Definitely the place to go for those lucky West Van denizens. Beautiful pies for beautiful people.
Really nice people and great big windows but expensive
Fantastic pies. Great coffee and breakfast.
Awesome little spot for some great eats
This place is the absolute best for any kind of baking..hands down
This pie shop is a Gem of a bakery! My favourite is their Raspberry Rhubarb, pick up a warm pie to go or grab a seat in their cozy cafe and have a berry or apple pie a la mode. I have yet to get there early enough to snag a fresh cinnamon bun but their chocolate espresso walnut brownies are divine! The coffee is fresh and delicious, home made soups and breads are hearty if that's what you need before digging into desserts, family friendly and helpful staff!
Great pastries and excellent aromatic coffee ... What could be better ?!
Have to wait too long for food. Took 30 minutes +. Otherwise food good.

the customer service at savary island pie company has been always been fantastic, but at our last visit the general manager truly went above and beyond! overall, an excellent place to stop by for high quality baked goods & coffee.
Excellent baked goods at high-to-outrageous prices. Service is pleasant enough and hugely inefficient. Still, I buy their stuff fairly regularly because I don't mind spending the bucks for really good products from time to time.
Worst service, they mix up your order every single time
Best cinnamon buns in the city, especially because it's not heated by the microwave! Soft, sugary goodness ????
Today I order a pie a la mode waited for 25 minutes only to find out the girl had forgotten my order. No apology either. Awful customer service. I will not return as a customer! I took my refund and left! I have been coming here over the last 8 years I've lived on the North Shore. I have seen the prices go up the soups and pies are delicious but the service is less than desirable. It is really too bad that with their high prices they cannot have better staff!
Delicious, all natural homemade icecream - best I've ever had in Canada! (I'm a Kiwi and we are known for our great ice cream :) ). Bought some this eve from the gorgeous pop up on the West Vancouver seawalk. A gorgeous spot to hangout with great views of the city (plus the staff were v patient and friendly). Highly recommend.
Dirty
Their pies are pricey but legendary. I went for an assortment of muffins, cinnamon buns and coffee cake. Soo delicious ????
Love love love the food
Enjoyed the steak, mushroom, and guiness pot pie, it was exactly what you'd expect flavour wise and the crust was perfect.
I normally don’t write reviews as I know how hard the industry is. I was encouraged by the Savory staff in this instance. This is not a review about the pie, but their garlic dressing. I have been eating it for 15 years…. Now it has changed …
Look no further! Freshest, most delicious food in Vancouver. Its made well to perfection. Everything is so yummy. U mustttt try the chicken pesto sandwich. Ur welcome lol
Wonderful lunch today....
The pie filling was decent however my whole bottom pie crust was missing and I only got half a slice of pie. My boyfriend's pie had paper towel in it too :(
Yummy pies (ofc), sandwiches, tea, and coffee! A little expensive but the quality is top notch, and is a great treat!
Had a slice of raspberry rhubarb pie. Good flavours balance of sweet and tart. Slice size is on the small (compared to The Piehole) and $7.50 is pricey. Glad to try once and support a local business, but that will be the only time I buy pie from here.
An old haunt of mine. The coffee and baking were outstanding years ago and still are. A landmark for the taste buds.
Good food, great service!
It's sad what's happening to this fine bakery which used to be a West Van institution. We frequented them years ago while the owner was baking her pies in the space across the street, Bean Around the World. We followed her to the new location and enjoyed her soups, the wonderful bread and pies. And the friendly staff. Now, there is one staff member in particular, a young woman, who doesn't seem to care. No smile, and has an attitude. It's an unpleasant start to sitting down to enjoy a coffee and a sandwich. The soup plates have become smaller. A sandwich at $12 is expensive for such a place. I wouldn't mind paying $12 if it arrives hot. The toasted sandwich I ordered the other day was cold. The coffee cups are ridiculously small. Worst of all, there are no napkins. You have to wait for a napkin to be given to you and it's the smallest. Hard to eat a sandwich with mayonnaise and a small napkin. There is cheapness about the place when a restaurant is so tight on a small item like a napkin. Not to mention how tight the seats are close to each other. There are too many other fine places now in West Vancouver so I am not going back here ever to eat on the premises. The bakery is good for take out. Their bread is excellent. Really too bad. I loved this place.
Two words: Cherry Pie. Best I've ever had. Also had the chicken pot pie which was flavorful and delicious!
Rude server; Unhygienic practice: found flies inside display case. Not coming back.
Pricey, but the food quality is ridiculously amazing. Nice, cozy, ambiance!
(Translated) Very special place (Original) Riquisimo lugar
I must stop for pie
The best pie crust I've e ever tasted, but the prices are astronomical! $6 for a butter tart?? Really??!
I ordered a cake a week before I needed it when I got there to pick it up they told me it would be another 20 minutes to get it ready. Not sure why it wasn't ready and neither did they.
Worst coffee ever. Baked goods are in no way quality compared to Vancouver average. Muffins and pies might be ok, but cookies awful
Good but expensive
Obviously love their sweet pies.. the atmosphere is quaint and cozy- their tables are quite big and bulky.. could probably optimize it to fit a few more people..as seating is quite often a premium here. Have not been disappointed with any of their savoury pies so far :D
This used to be my most favourite place until Nanna destroyed this company's previous superb service and cleanliness. Nanna has no regard for sanitization and cleanliness. She does not wash her hands and reuses disposables and left overs that MUST be thrown out. How can you trust such as good company when it has such a dishonest and disrespectful employee such as Nanna.
45 mins wait for a sandwich???! What a waste of time
Best pie in town, Try blueberry pie ????
This West Van institution has some of the best bread you can get anywhere in the Lower Mainland. And their service, which used to be terrible, has improved quite a bit under new ownership. But they don't have WIFI (there is Telus, if you can get it, but it did not work for me), so miss out on the cafe work crowd (people like me who would spend more time there, come more frequently and spend more money, if I could work on my laptop... and our kind is only growing in numbers). And while the vegetarian sandwich I ordered was super delicious, it was almost impossible to eat: stacked very wide so can barely fit in your mouth, but everything was falling out before I even got there. So maybe sandwiches that a person could actually hold in their hands and fit in their mouthes would be more practical. But if they can't swing it, the bread is still so good, I'll deal.
Great sourdough bread and deserts. Pretty pricey in general, but would come back on occasion.
Delicious!
I love the food here. Always look forward to coming here when I'm in town. However today was first time I've been annoyed. It takes a lot to get me annoyed too. I ask cashier for a whole loaf of sourdough bread $10. Someone had just bought the last one. Only half a loaf left. At first she said $5 then quickly said $6. I questioned why half a loaf was not $5, especially when i wanted a whole loaf. Was told a half loaf more expensive. I gave her a fiver & twoonie but got no change back. She said i gave her a loonie. I only had twoonies in my hand not loonies! I started to walk away, then went back & asked again. She wasn't budging. No apology for the misunderstanding. Now i have worked retail for many yrs & know what it is like to wait on irrate customers so i never am rude when I'm the customer. Now this was only a dollar but it was the principle of it. Needless to say i left no tip.
Great soup and coffee
basically , i bought this pie , AS A JOKE. this pie i got (lemon buttermilk with berries) WAS 40$. like i understand,,,, tough times, support local businesses, that’s all well and cool. buying an incredibly expensive dessert now that i think about it is not that funny of a joke but i digress BUT I WAS GOING IN TO TASTE THIS PIE AND THINKING THAT I HAD WASTED MY MONEY BUT NO THIS PIE IS REALLY REALLY YUM LIKE I THINK I MIGHT THINK ABOUT THIS PIE YEARS AFTER ITS INITIAL CONSUMPTION this is literally the perfect pie for me however i will only be giving it four stars for the fact that i am now like 16$ in debt and my bank just called edit: i gave it 5 stars cause i have eaten half the pie
Sunday January 30. Great service as usual but today I had a small complaint but was handled very well. Will continue coming here for many years!
The best apple pie in Vancouver by far. Sandwiches and omelettes are fantastic. A great rustic look adds to the experience
Had the apple pie, tasted good but would have been better if they warmed it up. However they said the ovens were off at that time and it was around 2 pm. Otherwise it was tasty.
Best pies around.
The pros: The muffins, the sandwiches and some of the pies The cons: The space is very cramped, the coffee and most of the pies are hit or miss, the scones were good 5 years ago but now they just come out cakey or dry and the prices are ridiculous for what you get. The staff also behave like they really couldn’t care less about your order or good service.
To die for it is so delicious.
(Translated) I love this place. They make wonderful breads and the best grilled cheese in the world. (Original) Eu amo esse lugar. Eles fazem pães maravilhosos e o melhor “grilled cheese” do mundo.
Pricey, but the vegetarian sandwich is one of the best I've ever had (before realizing I needed a special diet). The bread that they use has a wonderful texture and flavour. Cute and cozy atmosphere. Only wish they had more dairy free and gluten friendly options.
Crowded but good atmosphere
Rating based on absurd prices, not quality of food. Good, not always great, solid food but the prices are insane. $45 for a chicken pot pie?! Save $ and pay "only" $19 for a small one. How about $34.50 for a fruit pie, one that is good but not better than others in the area for 1/3 to 1/2 the price? I think not. Pastries and breads are good and pricey though not as much as the above. Judging by the crowds here west Vancouverites don't care, but I for one refuse to be gouged like this in the future.
Been going here over 20+ years. Just a few years back I began to notice the negative attitude of the workers (especially the owner/manager). They have become incredibly rude and condescending and always rushing customers when they are ordering. Not only that, the quality of their food is terrible now, which doesn’t correlate with the price increase. It’s incredibly disheartening to see one of your favourite childhood bakeries go downhill like this.
Excellent food. Not sure why people complain about the price..I mean is freaking WEST Van..lol...
Words cannot express my love of this establishment, this is my go-to whenever I'm in town. Since I found this little gem 7 years ago Every single menu item has been ABSOLUTE heaven;). Staff is a ray of sunshine every single one of them:):)!
The tortiere and chicken pies were excellent. The food took awhile but the staff were friendly and attentive. There were no napkins or forks available.
I love the pie and bread here, but the hair from the carrot cake was amazing.
Lemon Buttermilk pie, yummy. Try their savory scramble for breakfast. Awesome!. Great soups too
Lemon buttermilk berry pie is the best EVER!
We were in your bakery today. While the muffin, scone and Americanos were tasty enough, we were perplexed and disappointment that we were charged 0.35 for a pat of butter. When you charge 16.00 for 4 items, it's only reasonable to include butter, when asked. When I requested to speak with the manager to state my thoughts, I was ignored.
Amazing pie and food. Grilled cheese is unreal. Almost always busy for good reason. Beautiful interior, a mix of old chairs and tables all squished together. If you have a certain pie in mind go early as they do sell out.
Didn’t have sandwich but their muffin was good
Sandwiches are good and pies are well made but overpriced and quite poor service.
$35 for 2 sandwich and a small Soup and 25 min WAIT!!
Good but way overpriced.
Very popular. Great baked goods. Good selection of breakfast/lunch
???????? Prime time
The Italian bread is a must every time we are in town. We always pick up more to take home.
Your food is great, but please stop employing incompetent teenagers who do not know how to heat up a slice of pie. You are getting a negative reputation.
Way overpriced for average food.
Overrated
Darling, cozy, beloved iconic West Vancouver spot offering extraordinary pies.
The food is top notch. The service is good. The staff seem oblivious to . the noise from the kitchen. From the continuous beeping from the microwave which is just left for 5 to 10 minutes, to the saran wrapper that sounds like a train. Brutal.. all totally fixable... if they care to!
Soft blubbery scone, flavourful fluffy chicken pie, sweet hot chocolate and spicy chai latte. What more can you ask for to enjoy a scenic sunny afternoon at this little hiden gem.
Expensive bakery goods with cold coffee and attitude and mixed service. Dark skin girl did a good job was nice and pleasant.
Fantastic fresh breads, pastries, and pies. Stay for lunch. I love their veggie sandwich. Also, there is usually a vegetarian option for soup and I have never been disappointed. The seating is a bit of a hodgepodge, and the place is very popular, so finding somewhere to sit can be a bit of an issue. The staff is lovely and helpful.
Expensive but only place that sells Irish wheatin bread, though they call it something else
On our first morning in Vancouver from Cape Town, on a hunt for fresh bread in my two little ones, we find stores closed and a van from Savary Island Pie Co right in front of our door...we ask the man if he can guide us to a good baker, he asks “what do we need” and opens up the back. He gifts us 2 loads of bread, a raisin rye and an Irish Sourdough. The latter was just to our liking:))) He also gifts the kids some cookies and muffins...and a delicious lemon buttermilk pie...all on the house as a welcome to Vancouver. We were left speechless and had a brilliant breakfast. Thanks again Savary Island Pie Co!!! And Good luck with the venture!!! We would have been dedicated clients... but we continue our journey...
Went here for lunch on Valentine's Day. Best chicken pot pie I've ever had
Great breakfast sandwich and coffee. Nowhere I’d rather be early on a Sunday morning.
Great food!
Blacked out and ate the whole pie its that good. But in all seriousness what a great treat that feels home made and like a hug. Do yourself a favour and have their pie with a good hot cup of coffee.
A taste of nostalgia
Amazing pie crust and a good amount of filling from real fruit makes for delicious pies. Also, the sandwiches are a meal for two.
Best pie in the city. Something about this place when you are inside is like being at old grandma's house for tea, coffee, pie. Maybe it's purposely designed wooden unstable tippy chairs and tables, tea pots, and how they make your pie fressssh on the spot. Their pastries is good too.
Unmatched fresh homemade baking year after year. Only great staff can make that happen!
2 expensive 4 what they have 2 offer
Extremely good pies and great cappuccinos
Steak and Guinness pie was not bad, but for $20 I’ll make one for myself next time ????
Overpriced but worth it!
Love their pies. The quality of their pies are always consistent. Great service in general.
We tried 3 savoury pies and the carrot cake. They were all so good! The perfect amount of icing on the cake!
Yummy
The lemon buttermilk with berries was great as usual! It's quite sweet, tangy, dense and rich. The flavors go so well together though, and it's incomparable to any pie I've had! Such a decadent pie that most people love once they try it. A small slice goes a long way since it's quite a heavy pie. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the North Shore. Enjoy a slice of pie and wander the beautiful beaches of Ambleside.
Overpriced
Went 9:30am on Sat, half their menu was not available. Pies aren’t available until 11am. Had a cinnamon bun that tasted old.
Horrible customer service, racist owner, absolutely shocking experience first time in my life in a restaurant I've been treated so horribly. This business will go down. Look at my experience I've described on their facebook page.
Nice pies! A bit pricey though
